The Mystery Of The Unification Of The Masculine And Feminine, Part 1

595.01The Mystery of Nature

From the only source, which is the Creator, two forces descend. One of them is the power that relates to Him: the property of bestowal, love, emanation.

The other is an artificial force created by the Creator that did not exist before the beginning of creation —the property of receiving, absorbing, which then became an egoistic property.

Both forces exist in the entire nature of the upper worlds and in our world as a plus and a minus. They are created opposite to each other so that we, who represent the property of receiving, the negative egoistic force, can use our properties to determine the opposite positive force, the Creator, and create certain interactions with it, unification, as in an atom.

One force does not exist separately from another. We always measure, see, feel, and find them in some sort of positioning relative to each other.

Therefore, the negative force in which the Creator created us is necessary precisely in order for us to find, define, and feel Him as a positive, emanating force, and thus be able to begin contact with Him, to detect, define, feel, approach or move away from Him.

In other words, to see what state we are in with respect to the Creator to determine the possibility of absorbing His properties into ourselves.

How can we make ourselves negative to Him as if we are both negative and positive? This is a very difficult question, and even more so its solution.

This is not just the disclosure of the mystery of the unity of minus and plus, the Creator and creation, but the disclosure of how creation develops, reaches its completely opposite state to the Creator, and begins to feel this state as absolutely harmful, unsuitable, and intolerable, and then does everything in order to ascend above it and start to create something positive from your negative self.

How is this possible? After all, creation cannot change its nature in any way. It turns out that it can only change the application of its nature. That is, although I am created completely negative, I can transform even my negative properties, motivations, and actions so that their final result is positive. And how to do it is really a mystery.

We cannot imagine it, that is why we say that this is a secret. We are absolutely not yet in it, but we are in our egoistic negative properties.

What Is The Foundation Of The World?

209The Book of Zohar, VaYetze, Item 13: King Solomon established his book on seven Havalim [“Hevel” means breath vapor, as well as vanity, futility] on which the world stands. These are the pillars and ledges that form the existence of the world, and this is why they are called Havalim.

Hevel (vanity) is the foundation of the world. From the translation, it follows that everything only operates on vanity. This is not quite true.

Hevel is what comes out of the mouth. Not even breathing but sound—everything that a person seems to let out of himself with his inner breath.

In a spiritual object, such an exit from inside out is the power of bestowal, the power of going out of oneself, the desire to share with another, the desire to love another, to connect with him with his aspirations and fill him like a mother fills a child. It is precisely upon this desire, the love of one for another, that the whole world can exist.

On the other hand, Hevel can mean vanity, i.e., all unnecessary, husk, garbage.

Question: Then what should we do? How to relate to this word?

Answer: It is necessary to translate the Torah correctly with a Kabbalistic meaning because it speaks about the inner matter of humanity, about its desires, about its connection, and its rise to the level of the Creator.

Therefore, if you translate just like that, in our everyday connotation, then the translation will have the opposite meaning.

Delight The Creatures

289The Creator’s desire is to delight the creatures. This desire is spread everywhere in the universe. In the space that the Creator has allocated. He created a space, a place, filled it with Himself, and began to create within Himself creations that were opposite of Him so that each creation would attain Him and become completely like Him, since there is no greater perfection than His personal state.

Question: Is this the only truly analog system that covers absolutely everything?

Answer: Yes. But we do not attain it in an analog way, but in discrete step-by-step rapprochement, all the time breaking it up into many parts.

What Does A Woman Find In Kabbalah?

294.4Question: Why do women come to study Kabbalah and why are there so many of them? What do they find in Kabbalah?

Answer: Women come to us to study because they feel that in this world they have nothing to rely on, that all their feminine, maternal care about a life partner they can rely on, about children who need to be educated, brought up, and supported, that taking care of the house, and about building the right family, they do not know how to do it. And men do not know as well.

Therefore, women see that in this way they begin to receive some answers about how everything works, how everything can be put in order, and therefore, they come to Kabbalah. First of all, because it gives them some kind of confidence, some kind of base, so that they can create the right atmosphere in the house, in the family, at work, in the city where they live, and in the world.

Question: Why is their desire for the spiritual so great?

Answer: I think that women strive, first of all, not for the spiritual. They come to Kabbalah because they see an absolutely unrequited existence in the material.

There is no answer: why and for what do we exist? What is happening here? How to arrange this world? How to do something right with children. There is no answer, and a woman is at a loss. If she has answers to the most important questions about existence, then she is already calm.

And the most important thing is the question: “What will happen to my children, to us?” This question in life, in the world, it is very, very vibrant.

The woman, first of all, comes to answer it. And when she begins to understand that what is being said here is about universal psychology, about universal development, universal correction, and so on, then despite all these enormous scales of Kabbalah that are being revealed—universal and beyond that—women still continue to study, and this is necessary.

This is not from the point of view of acquaintance and curiosity. For a woman, this is necessarily much, much deeper. She is looking for a foundation, a certainty, on which she can exist.

Difference Between Spiritual And Earthly Mathematics

548.03Comment: Today mathematics has developed greatly. Kabbalists have never known this. The only thing close to mathematics in Kabbalah is Gematria.

My Response: In principle, mathematics reflects the dependence between some parameters. So, if we take our desires on the one hand, and the desires of the higher field on the other, then as Kabbalah believes and reveals, there is nothing besides these two parameters.

Therefore, all our knowledge also consists of zero and one. We can write down any given in this way. Kabbalists describe the relationship between various stages, but describe it in the form of a condition: if you know how to approach changing yourself at some level, then make yourself the necessary instrument, feel and see what is being said.

That is, earthly sciences link various data into a single chain, but all this is not experienced by man, and exists as it were, outside of us.

And Kabbalah is a science that is felt by us, and first of all, it should tune us to this feeling, without detaching from nature. Therefore, it describes man and nature according to a completely different principle—as our steps to merge with nature.

Mathematics is the relationship between data. But the problem is that in our world all this happens in egoistic properties and therefore does not lead to similarity, but on the contrary, to differentiation, to rupture, as a result of which a multitude of all kinds of properties, formulas, interdependencies, and other things appear.

But when you walk only in likeness, then you almost do not need mathematics because in the spiritual world everything is graduated in 125 steps, and each of them has five levels. You must become like each of them. To do this, you need to bring your egoism to a state corresponding to a certain level. That is, everything is very specific.

And in our world, because we work in an egoistic Kli (vessel), we break it into many parts, and we get a huge mathematical array. We cannot connect it in any way: where can we get this single formula that connects the entire universe into one whole? This cannot be done through our egoistic perception.

And although we actively use mathematics, in principle, it is all built not on similarities, but on differences from nature. Spiritual mathematics is based on completely different principles.

“Who Comes To Study” (Linkedin)

My new article on Linkedin “Who Comes to Study

People often ask me who is the most likely person to become a Kabbalah student, and why some people take interest in it, and some do not, or even reject it. Well, the first thing I mention are the known words of Baal HaSulam, the author of the Sulam [Ladder] commentary on The Book of Zohar, who wrote that Kabbalah is for anyone who asks about the meaning of life. However, many people ask about the meaning of life but don’t end up studying Kabbalah, so while most everyone who comes to study Kabbalah had frequently asked about the meaning of life, not everyone who has asked about the meaning of life end up studying Kabbalah.

Especially today, when the ego is destroying every part of human society, and every person individually, it is especially important to know how we can rein the ego and use it constructively.

Covid has increased the level of people’s anxiety dramatically. Many of them even started to ask about the meaning of life. However, this in itself is not enough to become a serious Kabbalah student. People have gone through all kinds of states during the pandemic: They’ve suffered blows for no apparent reason, felt powerless to deal with them, were forced into an endless struggle for survival, and often had very little support from friends, family, or authorities. Such circumstances can easily drive a person to ask why they deserve the punishment, what is wrong with this life, and how come others are happy and they are not.

However, people entangled in the midst of a crisis are (usually) not the best candidates for studying Kabbalah. Kabbalah is a long process that requires commitment on the part of the student. Therefore, I would say that the best candidates for Kabbalah studies are those who are not in the midst of a crisis, but have experienced one (or more) before, and have since stabilized their lives. Nevertheless, the question about life’s meaning does not let up. When this happens, it is a sign that the question is deep enough to make a person a serious and committed student.

When a person begins to study Kabbalah, new horizons open up. The expanded perception of reality transcends the familiar norms and boundaries that the student was accustomed to or grew up on. This takes away much of the burdens of life, and many “guilt trips” that we all have are lifted because the realization of how things work reveals that we are all ego-driven and therefore cannot really help being selfish.

At the same time, it does not make a student reckless because the wisdom of Kabbalah also teaches how we can become masters of our egos. We do not destroy it or suppress it, but rather harness its powers for positive purposes and make it work for the common good. This is why Kabbalah students are on the one hand very individual, but on the other hand are highly committed to society and collaborate enthusiastically for everyone’s success.

Especially today, when the ego is destroying every part of human society, and every person individually, it is especially important to know how we can rein the ego and use it constructively. Therefore, those who are ready and willing to learn Kabbalah seriously have much to gain from their studies, and society will gain from their learning even more than they themselves will gain.

Is The Created Being Independent?

243.05Question: Is creation a revelation of the actions of the Creator? Is the created being independent? Is he free of the Creator?

Answer: Absolutely not! Can anything be free of the Creator? Initially, there is the upper force that created the desire to receive, the ego, as a result of the influence of the light. The ego is secondary and the Light is first. There is nothing other than that in nature.

All sorts of different actions take place between them. All of them are opposite to each other and are in contact and communication.

Above The Speed Of Light

746.02Question: We learn that all desires in us are initiated by the upper light and transferred through the Reshimo (information record). In quantum physics, the so-called informational interactions without any carrier are now very actively examined. Some of these influences are transmitted even above the speed of light, practically instantaneously. Is it possible to say that the same mechanism exists in the transmission of the Reshimo?

Answer: That there is an interaction above the speed of light, I think can be understood even by our mind. In principle, if our universe, this gigantic space, could not instantly interact with each other from its different points, then this system would not function. It would simply not exist. There would be chaos everywhere.

So, we study this so-called chaos and see more and more clear laws in it. Moreover, such that we will grasp and understand what is hidden there. But nonetheless, these are laws! After all, laws are interactions between various causes, consequences, and conditions. Of course, they exist above the speed of light.

But in Kabbalah, instantaneous speed is not considered something inconceivable because it works not with matter, but with intentions and thoughts. It is an absolutely different space. There is nothing there that is restricted by matter, time, or movement.

Question: There is a long-standing dispute between scientists about short-range and long-range actions. Do you think that the correct approach is action at a distance, when the action is transmitted instantaneously to all parts?

Answer: Any small action evokes one instant reaction in all parts of creation. We have to nevertheless admit that, based on our practice of observing the cosmos, as we see that it is some incomprehensible small part. Maybe it is because we do not see the full picture. But this is only our initial knowledge. What can we talk about here?! We observe only the mechanical part of the universe, inanimate nature. Where is the rest of it? All this we have yet to be revealed.

But the fact that the whole system of nature is interconnected, Kabbalah talks about this from the first line. Kabbalah talks about the creation of the world, the creation of the universe, the creation of all matter. That it all comes from one root and these are all the forces of dissemination, which are in full connection and interaction with each other.

To Perceive The World As It Is

214Question: Can we say that collective consciousness is a qualitatively new level and Kabbalah is engaged in teaching people to reach a new level of perception of reality?

Answer: No, I would not say that, because in this case the consciousness should be completely the opposite of the earthly one.

If we all receive everything within ourselves and in our primordial natural properties feel this reflection, as, for example, on a photographic film, then the Kabbalistic perception is completely different.

It remains by itself, and the person who cancels his egoism and can enter into the perception of reality without disturbing it, feels it as it is. That is, not in the egoistic properties, but precisely in the degree of similarity of its properties to all possible properties and actions that occur outside of it.

Kabbalah comprehends the world that does not pass through our senses. A person, developing himself, makes special efforts on himself in order to begin to feel the Kabbalistic world, to be able to enter a state where he is absolutely not an egoist and perceives everything not in himself, but outside of himself. In practice, he is removed from any interaction with the outside world.

Does the world around you exist by itself? Exists. I perceive it in myself, which means that I perceive it egoistically. We build our sciences on the basis of what we perceive, either by ourselves or with the help of devices we invent.

And Kabbalah says: “No, let us perceive the world as it is.” First of all, we need to reach a state when we, annul ourselves, begin to feel as if we do not exist, and, consequently, begin to feel the true world around us. And as we annul ourselves step by step, we begin to feel everything that happens in that world. This is the whole science of Kabbalah.

Perception In The Corrected Qualities

608.02Question: Usually, science divides consciousness into the subconsciousness and the supra-consciousness. What does Kabbalah think about this?

Answer: In Kabbalah, there is only one way of perception, the absolutely accurate attainment in our corrected qualities.

Obviously, these qualities are different and are graduated on the same egoistic scale: to the extent that we can rise above our egoism, we can discern the Kabbalistic space. It is almost the same as in our world.

In our world, there is an egoistic consciousness. Everything that we feel in it, we somehow evaluate, describe, and from this our sciences originate.

However, if we change our egoistic consciousness to an altruistic one by exiting ourselves, (without disturbing the field around us with our presence, meaning how much, while being in it, we feel it, and not ourselves), from this our information about the upper space is formed. This is the subject of the study of the wisdom of Kabbalah.
