Question: I love Kabbalah conventions, the music and meeting with people, while during the lesson I am dying of boredom. What should I do? When will the Light come in?

Answer: Every person has his own natural inclinations. Some cannot remain seated, in contrast, others like to sit and study. Some prefer physical activities, while others enjoy mental analysis. We are talking about the corporeal nature of man.

However, on the path to the spiritual world, everyone will come to a common denominator. After all, in spirituality, feeling and thought get revealed simultaneously, as well as action, contemplation, and empathy. In our world, they are scattered all over our perception, but in spirituality they are brought into one singular point of contact.

When will revelation come? It will come when we, with our collective effort, draw the Light that Reforms and everyone will feel in their heart that he is willing to surrender to the group, Malchut, which is the place where he must find the Creator, the common force of bestowal, and will learn to bestow to Him.

If a person is shaped in this form and is ready to surrender to unity and find the Creator in it, then he achieves what he desires, but not before. In the meantime, we must put forth our best effort to accomplish this.

Question: What does it mean, to bestow to the others?

Answer: To bestow to others means to bestow to the group, all of whom together aspire to adhere to the Creator, think solely about that, and understand that it can be achieved only by mutually connecting without any difference between us.

However, in that case, it wouldn’t be the others any longer, but as if it were me, myself, adhered to the Creator. Still, I must first learn to bestow to the others based on what is written, “From the love of man to the love of the Creator,” since otherwise I will err, for my ego will confuse and deceive me.

Bestowal to the others is bestowal to the group in order to reach the common goal, which is to bestow to the Creator. You bestow all of your desire to the friends, thereby turning it into the place where the Light can be revealed. You are passing it to them!

If you are doing it with absolute devotion, in this part of your devotion transferred to them, they can reveal the Creator. And when everyone does the same and we reach the might of “600,000” souls, spiritual revelation will occur.

All of us together must think about how to create this common desire of the entire world Kli, to unify it so that it becomes fit to unveil this first portion of Light. Then, adhesion (Zivug) between all desires and the Light will occur. This will happen for the first time in history! In truth, everything that had taken place in the previous generations was a mere preparation for this.

Question: You said that all we must do is express our willingness for the Upper Light to reform us. There are quite a few groups who are striving to unite for some purpose: the mafia to rule in their area, a Kabbalistic group to achieve some exalted goal. They both say they want to unite; however, in either case, something slows them down, preventing them from reaching unity.

Answer: As for the regional mafia, it lies in their hands. As to “spiritual mafia,” they have a problem: They have no weapon. Their weapon lies in the hands of the Creator. The Creator will hand it over on one condition: that you will be worthy of it, meaning, you will know how to use it correctly. The Light is the most powerful weapon; nothing supersedes its might. It contains the most enormous pleasure, infinite fulfillment, limitless possibilities to do anything at all. How can He give such a weapon to you?

Look how we guard our children while they are growing up from everything that might harm them! Can man be given something so dangerous that he could destroy everything? Therefore, the Upper Light comes to us through concealments, the system of worlds, and works by way of advancing us step by step in stages. This is what we currently are experiencing as suffering. All of this is its effect aimed at advancing us so that in the end we would understand what we need to do, like children who misbehave. It can’t be otherwise!

How can this spiritual mafia be granted the Light? They will make such a feast “for themselves” that it will be more horrible than Babylon and Egypt together. In truth, before they are reformed, they are all Amans. Everyone has a Malchut of Infinity, but we don’t get to know it. I reside in the uppermost layer of egoism, this corporeal world, and below me lies the entire dense thickness of infinite ego, the Malchut of Infinity.

When I am illuminated by a small Light that has passed through the filters of all worlds, it illuminates only a tiny layer of egoism for me. If all of it came in and the entire abyss of egoism opened up, I would never be able to climb out of it, and this is the reason why this world is so small.

Look at how much we are helped from above right now, for it already has exhausted itself, and I see its end, the rock bottom of this world. It holds no more pleasure for me. Where do I get more desires? There aren’t any in this world. All the rest is for bestowal, and the desires of this world you received only in order to exist for the time being. From this moment on, you must decide what to do.

All of this is done for our salvation. After all, if the great Light came in, you would sink in such tremendous suffering that you wouldn’t be able to come out of it. You would be buried under desire that you would not be able to fill. It is like the love that is burns you because you can’t have it.

This is how desire will become revealed against the Light illuminating it, and all of your life would be sold out for yet another chase after pleasure that would make you feel even greater emptiness. It is impossible! It can be no more! The plane regarded as “this world” where you can enjoy something for your own sake for some time in order to develop the mind and feelings to perceive spirituality has come to its completion.

From here on, you must find the Light that comes to illuminate the upper layers of desires  for you, the Light that Reforms, the Surrounding Light. This is the not the light of pleasure, but rather the one that discerns and reforms. Then, the light of fulfillment arrives if you align yourself with it by way of the screen and Reflected Light.

Question: How can we establish cooperation between the different groups of our global society correctly so that it will be most efficient?

Answer: We don’t need to think about that since the Light will do everything. We simply must work on the connection, on everyone’s incorporation and adhesion. Later, we will discover that we already exist in the system.

When we yearn inward, into the common center, we suddenly discover that we are properly connected to one another like parts of a puzzle that fit one another. There are holes and bulges in each of us, and we suddenly fit one another like cogwheels. However, this multi-layer, multi-directional form isn’t just three dimensional, like in our world, but multi-dimensional. All the bulges and holes match one another. The Light does that and not us.

The cogs of all the wheels connect more tightly until they create one whole, until they all accumulate and fill all of Malchut of Ein Sof (Infinity).

This actually exists already, but the state of the shattering is gradually revealed to us, meaning the lack of contact, until everyone is incorporated gradually in the general system.

All of this is gradually revealed to us as our eyes gradually open up to see. In the past when a prisoner who had been in the dungeon for decades was taken out, they used to put several sacks over his head and remove them gradually so that he would get used to the light of day and wouldn’t be blinded by the strong light. Thus, the concealing Masachim (screens) gradually are removed from us, and we change them to Masachim of receiving.

When we receive the Light in the attribute of bestowal, it doesn’t blind us because it doesn’t enter the desire itself, but is above it. So, we have nothing to worry about, but to yearn for unity. Everything else between us will work out by itself. All the groups will begin to complement one another and we will see how inter-group reorganization and the division of labor.

The whole world will come to an international division of labor, not as it is today where China produces the merchandise, America prints money, Russia pumps oil, and so on. Instead, we will see the correct mutual cooperation between all on every level to optimally complement one another. First of all, this will happen between the groups.

Only under the condition of unity in the group will we be able to succeed in everything on our path. And if there is no such unity, then our forces are negligible. It will be just a material force, and even if we succeed in something, it will just be superficial. We can gain great material achievements, but they are worth nothing in a spiritual sense.

The group must guard its unity, connection, and equality as a vital necessity! We need to behave toward external people the same way everyone else does, using courts, lawyers, advertising as is customary in the world. But internally between the friends, all the relationships have to be built in the form of circles. One does not prevent the other: in circles (Igulim) inside and outside, the line.

You can be a great Kabbalist, but outside you have to behave in the standard “line” like all others. If someone tries to deceive you, you also have to use tricks. If someone tries to steal from you, you have to react accordingly. It does not mean that you have to steal, but don’t be a naïve simpleton, which is usually how external people want to see a Kabbalist. If everyone around behaves in this way, why should a Kabbalist behave differently? People think that he would be called a righteous man if he allows everyone to take advantage of him. But of course, he should not be so naïve.

This applies to external behavior in the outside world, but within the group, we need to keep the circle in the most precise way. Mutual guarantee obliges us to maintain equality. However, this equality should be relative; what is required from everyone, each according to his capabilities, is his ability to cancel himself. Equality means that everyone invests into it as much as he can; at least, he is working on it.

The group should not have people who control it as they please. Perhaps, they are right and know how to control everything, but it does not bring any spiritual gain. We can achieve huge material success, but if there is no spiritual component, it will all eventually burst like a soap bubble.

All of us reside in the ocean of the Light of infinity, the Light of bestowal and love, but we don’t perceive it because we are separated from each other. How do we experience it? Start unifying with everyone; after all, there is a reason why it is written: “Love your neighbor as yourself— it is the great law of the Torah” (Torah has the same root as the word “Ohr” (Light).

To achieve this you are granted a group. If you reach such a connection with the friends that is similar to the Light in a small degree, you begin to perceive it, to unveil it. And it depends only on you! Don’t expect the group to do this work for you; the group is already there. If you enter it correctly, you will get to see that it is already inside the Light.

It is only that “anyone who judges does so based on their own flaws.” And if you are not ready and are not inside it, all of them will seem to you as worthless egoists that are unable to accomplish anything. But if you enter the group correctly, you discover that all of them are mutually connected by the mutual guarantee and reside in perfection inside the Upper Light. And you plug into this Light.

Thus, by way of uniting the desires, Kelim (and all of us are desires), thanks to the quality of this unity, you arrive to the Light. Within these desires, you discover phenomena regarded as the Light, similar to how you discover that some mechanism is run by electricity. The Light that is revealed to you is the degree of connection, the measure of bestowal, between all of you.

And all the sayings of the Torah such as “All Israel are friends,” “Love others as you love yourself,” “Don’t do to others what is hateful to you,” etc., are not mere words. They are the laws of nature; by observing them, you find the Light that fills you.

Baal HaSulam, “600,000 Souls”: And when a single soul from Israel is purified from all its filth, it will draw onto itself the whole of the soul of Atzilut, and through it, all the souls of its generation will be completed. This is the meaning of one being dependent on the other, as it is written (Sanhedrin, 11), “It was befitting that Divinity would be upon him, but his generation was unworthy of it.”

There is the matter of individual success and there is the matter of the success of the group, and there is also global success of all of humanity. These three components have to be arranged together. It is like in an eclipse of the moon, where the moon the sun and the Earth are arranged in the right position. The soul also has to be in the same line with the generation (the group) and with the world. They have to be synchronized in some way and then the action is possible.

This is the time we are living in: There is already a crisis in the world; there is a crisis between people; there is great confusion and a great deficiency. In addition, the wisdom of Kabbalah and the necessary means are revealed. Everything is arranged the same way just like during the eclipse of the moon when the Earth conceals the light of the sun, or the other way around when the moon conceals the sun and then the world becomes dark, which is an eclipse of the sun.

The special current era is characterized by the fact that all these relative forms operate for the sake of the general advancement. If in the previous generation the world wasn’t worthy of that, now the generation is already ripe.

We know from our own experience just how incapable we are of even thinking about any kind of bestowal, of tearing something away from oneself and giving it to another, even a trifle. We agree to this only if we are expecting to receive something in return or we achieve a good attitude toward ourselves. Or do we want to feel superior to others, or are showing off and awaiting others’ approval.

If we hope to get an immediate reward right on the spot, then we can give; the main thing is to receive in return. But to tear something away from oneself without any compensation clearly realizing that you will not get any benefit from it, this is completely impossible.

All corrections are possible only by virtue of the Light. It will draw us up like a magnet and pull us out of our egoism. In that moment when I am in the air, I am capable of giving without any calculation. And again the Light raises me, and being suspended in the air, I once more can give selflessly, that is, to act without expecting a benefit for myself.

It will be clear to me that I am giving and it is already vanishing into the other. But as it vanishes, I make a calculation while remaining inside this bestowal. That is, my benefit is precisely in the fact that what I have given disappears into others. I receive this new attitude due to an acquired property of bestowal.

Clearly, this is not easy, and only the Light can retain us and allow us to perform such actions of giving from ourselves outward. NHY de AK are demanding unending bestowal from us, no questions asked. All desires of one’s egoism, yearning to enjoy, to fill itself, to understand, to feel, to conquer, to dominate, with all its envy, lust, and honor, you need to turn over to the service of others and be overflowing with joy.

But you do not do this for the sake of joy; it is simply a consequence of your bestowal because you are happy that you performed a completely selfless act, and the only thing that remained in you is the Light of Hassadim.

The world of Adam Kadmon demands this kind of behavior from us—unconditional bestowal. But the world of Atzilut, which is responsible for our correction, operates more selectively. It separates some of our desires leaving them for later, regarding them to be too much to begin with. It is as if it lowers the bar for us, both in height and intensity. It does not unfold this entire shimmering spiritual picture with boundless bestowal and reception before us, but dims the Lights and dulls the desires. It becomes grayer and bleaker, but now you can at least withstand it, because otherwise it would simply swallow you and force you to receive egoistically.

This is why the World of Atzilut arranges everything in a way that leaves only a small barrier in front of us, the minimum overcoming of our egoism for the sake of bestowal. It is taking care to ensure that the temptations are not so strong and obstacles not so huge, allowing us to come closer to a state that is possible to endure. And then we ask for help in order to overcome this tiny egoistic obstacle and rise above it, each time transitioning from degree to degree.

The overcoming always consists of me hiding from all possible misfortunes inside the center of the group, becoming included in it, and above all, searching there for a concealed secure place, like an embryo within a mother’s womb. I hide from all egoistic forces (Klipot) and cleave to the upper. And once in the center of the group, I begin to grow. I now become a child who is sitting in the arms of an adult, a mother or a father, and is indicating to them where I should be carried and what I want. Thus, each time I advance with their help, choosing the direction on my own, and the upper agrees to carry me there, approving my choice. In this form, a little spiritual person grows.

A group to me is a mother and a father, and only from its center do I clarify all spiritual properties.

Question: What is a typical fear of the Creator and how do we attain it?

Answer: Fear is the main thing. At the moment we have nothing but it. Even the love that we will feel later is based on fear at that moment. This can be fear for my life, the fear of wasting my life purposelessly, meaninglessly, and of ending it without any positive result. Such fear brings people to the wisdom of Kabbalah, and it is called “fear of this world and fear of the next world.”

Fear stems from the fact that we begin to think of what is external to ourselves and not about ourselves, and we can establish that fear only with the right environment. Because otherwise I may get confused and not understand whether I worry about how to delight the Creator and whether I am advancing towards it or not. But this is already fear regarding the action whose result is external to me: not in my pocket, not in my soul or my spirit, not in this world or in the next world, but rather somewhere external to me already, which means that it’s already connected to the act of bestowal.

In that case, I cannot be sure that my assessment is correct, and so I don’t exist in this world as one person but as surrounded by such an illusion that gives me the feeling that there are many other creatures: the still, vegetative, animate nature, and people. I have to accept all of them as parts of my soul. Unless I reach the fear that I worry about them more than I worry about myself, it means that I haven’t restricted my ego and I didn’t think about a certain action that resembles the Creator.

So we should first weigh, measure, and arrange our relations with the environment in our work. Only through the environment do we fulfill our freewill. The Creator is also in the environment. If I display the right attitude towards society, towards the friends, wider vessels open up for me as if I move to a more internal dimension, and there I reveal the connection with the Creator. One is inside the other (like hollow nesting dolls). This means that the connection with the Creator is revealed in the group. It’s impossible to discover Him any other way. Eventually I have to see how the whole world joins the mutual guarantee since it all belongs to me, it’s all mine.

Unity of the friends is the place where I unveil the spiritual world. The moment when I will manage to connect all our desires together, I will see in this point of oneness an opening, the entrance that leads inside into the Upper world! It will suddenly expand and unfold, and through it, I will discover a new spiritual dimension, or desire.

And it is clear that around this point of entrance that has to open for me, there are a great many barriers. And they are not obstacles; on the contrary, they attempt to aim me at entering spirituality correctly, so it looks like they deliberately trip on me from every side.

But if I don’t despair and instead try to understand that it works as “help against me,” then I will pass through all the barriers and enter the spiritual world. The entrance to it will show up in this specific point.

At present, it seems difficult and impossible to us, but it will suddenly open so we will fly directly in! We won’t have to push and keep breaking through—it will simply pull us into itself.
