In fact, it is greater than ever, thanks to deepening economic interdependence, worsening environmental degradation, proliferating transnational threats, and accelerating technological change. …

“Global governance” is a slippery term. It refers not to world government (which nobody expects or wants anymore) but to something more practical: the collective effort by sovereign states, international organizations, and other nonstate actors to address common challenges and seize opportunities that transcend national frontiers.

“Cooperation under such anarchy is certainly possible. National governments often work together to establish common standards of behavior in spheres such as trade or security, embedding norms and rules in international institutions charged with providing global goods or mitigating global bads. But most cooperative multilateral bodies, even those binding under international law, lack real power to enforce compliance with collective decisions. What passes for governance is thus an ungainly patchwork of formal and informal institutions.

“Alongside long-standing universal membership bodies, there are various regional institutions, multilateral alliances and security groups, standing consultative mechanisms, self-selecting clubs, ad hoc coalitions, issue-specific arrangements, transnational professional networks, technical standard-setting bodies, global action networks, and more. States are still the dominant actors, but nonstate actors increasingly help shape the global agenda, define new rules, and monitor compliance with international obligations.

“The clutter is unsightly and unwieldy, but it has some advantages, as well. No single multilateral body could handle all the world’s complex transnational problems, let alone do so effectively or nimbly. And the plurality of institutions and forums is not always dysfunctional, because it can offer states the chance to act relatively deftly and flexibly in responding to new challenges. But regardless of what one thinks of the current global disorder, it is clearly here to stay, and so the challenge is to make it work as well as possible.”

My Comment: There is no doubt that the world will come to the conclusion that a single global government is the only solution to the world’s problems. The international community can be managed only if the masses have the same education and understanding of the closed integral world. Thus the need for integral education in countering chaos arises even now.

Question: Suppose that some entrepreneurs, thanks to supporting each other, reach a conclusion about the necessity of mutual, integral cooperation and decide to change direction. What strategic changes can they make if they know this?

Answer: The problem is that entrepreneurs exist in an egoistic society as a cancerous tumor and are part of it. Therefore it is difficult to imagine that they would somehow begin to change that business culture in which they reside. This is possible only if the numbers are large and if they gradually become aware of the necessary changes that must take place in them and in the connection between them.

This reform is possible to realize in a country, a closed system, but only if this country can reach an integral form consciously by building the right connections between all strata of the population: between the upper, middle, and lower classes. But if we just explain to some small businessman how to reorganize his business according to the current trend of the changing world, then it is doubtful that it is possible.

This is because he is locked in a system of competition and corruption, where everyone preys on each other, a rigid system. In order to place his small business on a new path, to produce the most essential product and sell his products at a price that is sufficient only for his existence and nothing more, he would be like a small fish living among sharks that would devour him immediately. He would not survive such a hostile environment.

Question: How can entrepreneurs reach mutual conclusions in order to understand the new integral principles and change within the business community?

Answer: First of all, they must be trained in the method of integral education and upbringing. Then they will prefer good relationships between them to the present relationships at home, in the family, in the area where they live, in their city, and even in their nation.

They will be satisfied with an average salary, will devote much attention to all kinds of plans and social relations that provide education, healthcare, and so forth for free. In other words, their businesses must actively participate in social life.

At least they must be ready to separate from their material advantage, to work for the sake of the entire community, to get satisfaction from the fact that they are respected, valued, and loved by those who relate to them as to people who truly function correctly and maturely in this community.

The reputation of a businessman will not be determined by wealth but by active social standing. Integral education must bring him to a condition like this, where he will feel that he can stand out in society specifically because he foregoes material luxuries because they will be despised in the wider circles of society.

Question: We need to build a society that will be closer to nature. So then what will be technological advancement? Will some kind of simplification of life take place?

Answer: Why do you care about mechanics if everything will pass to a new qualitative level? Suppose there won’t be technological advancement. So what? What do you need it for? You see that there has been enough change in the power of our technology to supply us with a rational way of life.

Imagine you have a puppy living with you and you think about what is necessary for him. You consult an expert and he says that you must feed him something specific and he must sleep in a particular place. You don’t even think of giving him other nourishment or letting him lay down to sleep anywhere else. Certainly you want to give him soft down pillows and cookies for him.

But the body doesn’t require this, this is damaging, rationality is demanded. Therefore if we are talking about what we must supply for our body and  for the needs of all the people in the world, we must stop throwing away the food surpluses and feed the entire globe. The problem is not that there isn’t adequate food. Rather, it’s in that we don’t want to distribute it to everyone.

It’s the same thing with everything else. Certainly we will continue to develop technology further, but in order to be less involved with it. Today, it’s only necessary to plug in automatic machines and all of humanity won’t work at all. There only remains a need for experts who will follow the work of the machines and improve them from time to time, increase the efficiency of their operation.

Life will be simplified to its natural level. Industry, technology, commerce and all the rest will be at a level to supply every person with the necessities required for animal existence. And accordingly, the economy, finance, and all the rest will gradually move along these lines.

Question: Suppose that all of humanity begins to degrade, but the “golden billion” continue living well from the materialistic point of view. Why would the “Golden Billion” still not be happy?

Answer: Because he also developed the desire, awareness, and feeling of emptiness. After all, we are in a collective integral system! They cannot do whatever they want! They don’t choose their states for themselves. We all have an influence on each other; they upon us and we upon them.

Today, every person influences the entire world and all six billion influence the “golden billion.” What they think, others will also think. There is nowhere to escape from this! And if not them by themselves, then their children in any case will become like all the rest; moreover, the egoistic incentive will gradually disappear. The instinct of the preservation of the self is diminishing.

And this is the work of the entire system, the program of nature, its fundamental law: To bring the entire system into balance, only on the conscious psychological level, on the “human” level.

“As Dr. Ott explains: “Desert locusts aggregate into swarms when they run out of food — the crowding is driven by hunger and competition for the last few plants in the desert. My Comment: These examples of nature are illustrative because they clearly show that a unification of individuals into a community changes everyone’s nature, giving everyone new qualities, which would not be manifested in one alone. That is, an individual, as one, and unity of individuals into a whole one have different levels of development and different natures. Unity acquires a higher order, moreover, so different that food and environments previously poisonous for an individual become healthy…

Question: Why do you insist that the development of science is detrimental to mankind. We would not be able to study Kabbalah today without the modern means of communication?

Answer: We cannot imagine what the world would be like if we were to develop according to the spiritual path instead of the path of scientific and technological advancement, egoistically.

Everything we are trying to do through science and high technology is merely pathetic compensation for the things we would be able to achieve in our spiritual vessels.

This is like breaking a leg and instead of treating and healing it, I make crutches for myself. It is the same when it comes to hands, and all the other parts of the body.

And in the end, instead of having a normal, healthy body, which I could have had corrected and enjoyed, I become burdened by a thousand prosthetics all over the place, and I feel proud about it: Look at the wooden legs I can make!

This is what all of our science and its attainments are like…

We kept evolving it to its egoistic, corporeal height because we did not want to ascend and make the proper correction.

As soon as we transition towards the proper inner correction, we stop feeling that we need all these achievements of modern science.

Why would we need the Internet to communicate if we could transfer information and sensations directly from heart to heart, brain to brain, like through a wide unlimited pipe.

We simply do not want to connect like one man with one heart! Otherwise, we would not need all these wires to send messages to communicate.

We create energy with our common actions of unity. But we also need to properly use it for everyone to unite with the group.

The energy that I receive from the group is my reward for being loyal to the group. I become an integral part of a whole to the extent of my loyalty; I am prepared for them to do whatever they consider necessary to me.

This means that I use the group correctly and I can continue to demand energy from it in order to become even closer to it.

I give myself without a thought that they will fill me with their values and then this part becomes incorporated into the mutual guarantee without a doubt.

Science of our world is constantly changing, we have to keep correcting and improving it without interrupting the search.

Whatever seems to be absolutely obvious today, ceases to be indisputable tomorrow, and it is even possible that whatever was considered beneficial today, tomorrow will become harmful. Our desire constantly keeps changing and we discover a new science in it.

And since the desire to receive pleasure can change into its opposite on a daily basis, then useful things can become harmful.

Moreover, by operating only through our egoistic desire, we use all of the discoveries that were made in nature for the sake of self-benefit, and therefore the outcomes of the evolution of science harm us.

In other words, we always use it for evil. And we see that science mainly develops because we need it for wars and mutual destruction. If not for this, we would not keep evolving at all.

All the wonderful scientific discoveries are used to serve our egoism.

Question: You are saying that in the end every person must reveal the formula of balance with nature.

Does Kabbalah really want to turn every person into a research scientist, forcing each one to discover nature’s formulas?

Answer: But it is a very simple formula! Each of us is inside nature and strives towards comfort.

Balance is the solution to the equation, the discovery of the formula of ones most comfortable state, the kind of things I need like heat, humidity, food, shelter, family and children, a secure workplace and salary, etc. In our world this is what it is to attain balance with nature and satisfy all the desires.

But nature develops me so I this equilibrium would be constantly disturbed, and I need to keep trying to find it over and over as I advance.

We constantly look for balance. Even when people strive for power or pursue millions of dollars, they do this because they feel this need and they want to fulfill it, bring it to balance in order to calm down.

For this reason, the development that Kabbalah speaks about is the most normal and natural development for any person in this world. The only thing is that every person has a slightly individual formula for attaining this balance. Balance means that I feel so good that there is no way to feel any better!

When all the desires are corrected, in other words, when they are completely filled with whatever it is they want to be filled with, this is called the end of correction (Gmar Tikkun)!

I do not need to look for some far-fetched formula of nature! When I attain an absolutely comfortable state where I would not want to change absolutely anything, it means that I have discovered the common formula of balance with nature!

In other words, I reveal that I can be big and successful, and this form, where I now reveal myself, is called “the Creator” or nature. It is as if I were growing and growing and I finally grew up and became a king, and I see: Here is my castle, here is my army, and here are the people.

When a person feels that he has attained complete fulfillment, it means that he has discovered the formula of what it means to be the Creator.
