A Remedy For Depression

laitman_600_01Question: Scientists from Yale University have found that helping friends, acquaintances, and even strangers can reduce the impact of daily stress of emotional states on a person’s mental health.

Does being friendly help really lower pressures?

Answer: Of course, a good environment always helps, and even more so if the environment operates psychologically on a person so that he doesn’t feel it, but it’s in the air.

Today many studies are being conducted on this subject, and I welcome them because they align with the wisdom of Kabbalah. According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, the most important thing are the relationships between us.

Not only do they prolong our life and make it better, more comfortable, safer, and more pleasant, but they also make us feel positive vibes from nature that surrounds us—from the still, vegetative, and animate levels of nature—so that we can be incorporated in all of the levels of the general good integral connection.

When this happens, we begin to feel good inside the integral connection between us and the surrounding nature, the inner force that has created all four forms of existence—still, vegetative, and animate nature and man—and sustains them in the right mutual balance between them. We feel a new state, the next level of our evolution.

Reaching the next level, the new dimension is the feeling of the upper force that has created, sustains and manages all of nature that we must reveal.

Question: Does this revelation happen through our positive attitude toward one another?

Answer: It is expressed in our feelings in an attitude we call good. However, in fact, it is an attitude that complements and balances us even without any feelings.  In other words, it is a mutual complement between all parts of nature; through our attitude to everyone else we bring the whole of nature to balanced, harmonious, mutual connection.

And then you discover a new and higher power that lies within this context. We need to achieve it and to reveal, because that way we will find the key to our lives, how we should manage our lives and everything that happens to us.

Question: I tell people about it, and they don’t understand what connection or what mutual relationships I am talking about. People regard you as a dreamer, an idealist.

Answer: That’s all right, but we need it in order to oblige ourselves to look for meaning in life! How can it be that the entire world was created and exists in the wickedness that humanity generates?

After all, there is a form of life other than this world that we must discover, and the wisdom of Kabbalah tells us that it depends on us. This is how we are pushed and spurred with a stick toward happiness.

I am not a dreamer and have no illusions, but I simply know how everything works and is revealed to a person. I have students who actually fulfill this.

So, I offer you a real, practical method, and if you implement it, you will not feel that you are dreaming or fantasizing. Others may see you as such, but you surely are not. And if you have come across this article, let’s try to do it together.

Let’s advance and make our lives better. Seize this opportunity instead of sitting and complaining.

One Solution To All Our Problems

laitman_626Question: You have one answer for every problem: connection, unity. How can that be?

Answer: Connection is the only solution to all our problems whatever they are or may be in the future, if we don’t attain unity among us that will lead us to a new reality, to peace and tranquility.

By uniting we find ourselves in a system where we all complement one another. Now the whole world is like a broken down machine in which all the parts are out of sync and we have to connect them properly in order to fix everything.

It is like a body in which there are different systems and organs that don’t function properly. If they are fixed and operate properly, the body can heal.

The same thing happens in our society. Look at the illnesses it suffers from: poverty and wealth, divorce, drugs, external and internal enemies that threaten our security, and all because people around the world are not properly connected.

It is actually we the Jews who have the method of connection and unity. If we begin to unite, we will bring about unity throughout the world. Then the world will cease to accuse us because it will receive what it demands. On the whole, the world demands that we bring the whole world to unity and thus put an end to its suffering.

This is the reason that unity is indeed the answer to all our troubles, and I have no other advice. The solution is only in our connection.

Russia, Turkey And The Beginning Of The Redemption

laitman_434Opinion (Mayin Kfir): “Does the tension between Russia and Turkey herald the redemption? …

“This tense situation recalls the words of the Gaon of Vilna that have passed in a tradition from generation to generation among his students: ‘When the Russian fleet passes through Bosphorus Strait (the Dardanelles) – it will be time to dress in Shabbat clothes to greet the coming of the Messiah.’ This strait is also called the Istanbul Strait, and it separates the European part of Turkey and its Asiatic part, and is in fact constitutes the border between the two continents. …

“In addition, many ancient writers interpret the prophecies of the redemption in the Bible, that before the redemption comes, as part of Armageddon, of the war of Gog and Magog, Magog being the children of the red wave will be aroused to fight with the children of Ishmael. And according to a tradition that is found in the hands of many of the descendants of the students of the Gaon – Magog is Russia.”

My Comment: It is only needed to add that most people do not understand all the talk about the war of Gog and Magog. The concept of the “redemption” is the redemption of humanity from its egoistic nature with which the Creator created it. Kabbalah has been revealed to us to change human nature.

Kabbalah teaches us how we can change our nature with the help of the upper force, the Light. Thus we change the sense of our reality: egoistically we feel what is going on within us; altruistically, we feel what is going on outside of us. The transition from the sensation “within us” to the sensation “outside of us,” meaning, “going outside of yourself,” is realized through the exercise “And you shall love your friend as yourself” (“Leviticus,” 19:18).

The sensation that is revealed is called the “upper world”; this state is the next state of the development of humanity, and this can be reached through peaceful means, which the wisdom of Kabbalah teaches, or by the way of suffering, which is war. We must carry out this choice in our day. The Messiah is the power that reveals the upper world to us. Messiah is derived from the word “Limshoch” – to pull, meaning to pull us out of this lowest world.

Studying Mein Kampf In School

laitman_431_05Comment: Lately there has been an active discussion in Germany about the question of the removal of Hitler’s book, Mein Kampf. And now comes the announcement that the German Teachers’ Association intends to include this book in the school curriculum.

They think that a detailed investigation and analysis of this work under the guidance of the teachers will make it possible to shield the students from extremism.

Answer: Everything depends on the form of the approach and study. But in any case, this will have a negative influence because that is our nature.

It is like offering children to learn words that are forbidden to be used, or showing pornographic movies and analyzing them from the perspective of high craftsmanship. But in any case the youth will look at it like a wolf at a goat, and he will converse with them about high material and simultaneously swallow his saliva.

I would imagine that this will not teach the children anything. Certainly they will develop various circles and youth movements of the Hitlerjugend (Hitler Youth) type because each of them will feel that it is his history and he wants to justify himself.

The book itself was well-written, with all kinds of historical and other proofs. In principle, the author was right that the Jews are to blame for everything and that everything that was and is in Germany resulted from them.

I would say that this was not only in Germany but also worldwide. For everything that was done in the past and in the present was realized either by the Jews or through the Jews, or from the Jews through others. That is how our world was built and organized; we just need to understand how to use this correctly, finally leaving this vicious circle.

Humanity always goes in the same circle, constantly hitting itself and stepping on the same rake. So in this context, it is doubtful that this book will help.

Certainly it will give birth to a great number of anti-Semites. After their grandfathers, their grandchildren and great-grandchildren will stand up and it could be that it will then be possible to explain more to them. But today the anti-Semites are too atrophied if not completely indifferent regarding this problem. When they become more rigid, this will hasten development even though a movement like this in the left line is certainly an undesirable movement forward. But there is nothing to be done here.

The problem is again the Jews. For the world to go in the right direction, the Jews don’t need to convince anyone of anything and do anything else. For if they succeed in reorganizing themselves and finding their dependence and completing each other correctly in friendship, in love, and in integral connection, then the whole world will automatically aspire to that state and become like it.

Then the book Mein Kampf will also be perceived differently. So the outcome depends on what is done in Israel. If we don’t take any measures, then it will be bad. But if unity will begin in Israel, then this book seemingly will highlight those characteristics of a person that are in need of correction.

Harmful Food And Healthy Food

Laitman_506_6Question: Scientists from Carnegie University in the US believe that vegetarianism and health diets are harmful to the environment.

They have conducted many studies and claim that consuming fruits, vegetables, and dairy products causes great harm to the environment since there is greater energy and water consumption associated with them, which pollutes the atmosphere. At the same time, they say that meat consumption has a positive effect on the environment.

Answer: We believe that vegetarian food is healthier, but in fact, we actually have changed ourselves. We have formatted ourselves so that it is no longer clear what is good and what is bad for our body and for the natural environment.

In our current way of life when seven to eight billion people populate the earth, we cannot strive to ensure everyone haw healthy, normal, natural food. It is because it is impossible to grow so much food naturally since you would not be able to feed anyone that way.

In order to grow such amounts of fruits and vegetables the old-fashioned way, we would need ten planets equipped with different automatic devices. However, even then, we would have miniature cucumbers and tomatoes. In other words, it doesn’t make sense. It is impossible to feed huge numbers of people that way.

At the same time, we must take into account that natural products spoil very quickly, so we should eat what we develop.

I had a friend who worked at the institute of agriculture. I once asked him, “What do you do? What do you feed us?” I told him a joke that you could play football with a tomato that we consume today, and nothing would happen to it, and you would even be able to cut it into a salad.

His reply was, “Yes, we aspire to grow exactly this type of tomato that you could throw against the wall, and then make whatever you want of it.” They will be in different shapes, so you would be able to transport them wherever you want, keep them for a long time, and then make whatever you want from them. They still will be tasty in texture and flavor.

Question: What about people’s health?

Answer: People also will be semi-synthetic. Everything will be normal, and nothing will happen because we have multiplied to eight billion people on earth, and we need to supply food for everyone, and natural products cannot be preserved long enough.

Today, we can build two greenhouses in the Negev which will feed all of Russia with different kinds of vegetables. We can grow miniature trees that will bear huge fruit, and it isn’t a problem at all. This way, humanity will not be hungry, and food products will not be spoiled because they have been engineered that way.

This means that everything will be fine. You load tomatoes on a truck and ship them wherever you want to. They will not rot after two or three days. Then you can wash them a little and see that there are no worms. Everything is clean, and you can make a salad. We must take this seriously. It is true that people are critical. I agree with them, but what can we do if we must feed eight billion people, and our desire is that no one should lack anything.

Question: So, what is the conclusion?

Answer: First, we must make sure that everyone has whatever he needs: half a kilo of tomatoes, half a kilo of cucumbers, half a kilo of peppers a day, 200 grams of meat, a piece of fish, and a glass of wine or grape juice. Everyone should have whatever he wants and everything will be fresh: one apple, one pear, and a slice of good bread.

However, can we do that? It is only thanks to chemistry. Otherwise, it would not reach the consumer, and you would not be able to preserve the food, pack it, and so forth.

In any case, you must apply science so that food would reach people in the most distant places and no one would be hungry.

When you achieve that with the help of science, you should make sure that it is as least harmful as possible. On the other hand, what difference does it make whether it is harmful or not? In the last century, life expectancy has doubled.
So, what’s next? Are people who live a normal life and who consume this food less healthy? Never mind.

There are natural diseases, so we should try to understand what they stem from. I don’t see that vegetarians are healthier than other people. My teacher Rabash could buy any type of food, and I suggested that he buy special fruits and vegetables and a special type of meat, but he said, “I need to eat what everyone eats.” No matter how hard I tried to convince him that that type of food was harmful, he refused and said, “I need to consume what all the others do because I live among them.”

Question: Does this mean that the conclusion is that, first of all, there is nowhere to escape to, and second, that the people will not starve?

Answer: No, the second conclusion comes first. The most important thing is that people will not starve.

The Secret Of The Islamic State

Laitman_002Comment: A secret document of the “Islamic State” was published in the British newspaper The Guardian. It was a detailed program for building a caliphate in Iraq and Syria, which involves world control not only through the use of the sword, but also through the careful alignment of administrative, bureaucratic, social, and international components.

This 24-page document details the future state agencies: a propaganda machine, a diplomatic department responsible for international relations, centralized control over oil, etc. It devotes a lot of attention to educating the young generation to master new technologies.

Answer: The people of ISIS have common sense and know exactly what they want. From the outset, they adhere to a very clear ideological goal, and all their actions are detailed in line with this. They take into account that their plan is to control the world, so their tactics are structured correctly.

Indeed, they create their own venues and ideologies, and apart from them, also terrorism, bringing their new weapons of mass destruction: chemical, gas, radioactive, and others. They know how to disperse and hide them. In addition, they recruit foreign scientists to develop those kinds of weapons for use in guerilla warfare.

Their only weak spot is that they do not have their own state, on behalf of which they could expand.

Therefore, all the efforts of Western countries should be directed to destroy the country in its “embryonic” state, and to prevent the education of the young generation in this spirit.

As soon as Western Europe and the US allow the appearance of such a nation, just like a cancerous growth, it will immediately spread to the entire world. This is the first thing.

Second, they attract people by saying, “We want to unite and thereby save the world from ideological conflicts and a new world war. If one state is formed, one opinion, one single ideology, then there will be no war.”

The background is this: if the world surrenders, then everything will be fine. So the world, which by and large is opposed to this ideology, has only one option: to give in to them.

Only the ideology of Kabbalah, which is against this backdrop that will awaken and emerge more and more, confronts the ideology of the Islamic State.

As a result, the world will confront this resistance and will understand that the Kabbalistic ideology allows people not only to unite, but to do so without losing the freedom to follow the plan of nature. After all, this system wasn’t artificially set up but was taken from the depth of nature, from its laws. Thus, it is specifically this system that has the right of existence.

The wisdom of Kabbalah speaks about how humanity needs to rise to the next level of its development and enter the next dimension in which we will exist together as one whole. And then with our unity, we will feel the manifestation of a single force of nature, which is called the Creator.

Comment: This Islamic State also wants to be a single entity, a unified whole.

Answer: Yes, but this is a whole that is egoistic and doesn’t correct man’s nature; it unites everyone through fear and pressure, and is therefore not viable. The period where people try to unite under the pressure of a dictator will quickly end and will bring much bloodshed.

From the perspective of Kabbalah, unity reveals the upper force, which connects us. This means that we don’t unite under pressure of fear or some human factors, but under the influence of the upper force of nature. We feel how it brings us together!

We feel it brings us together. Therein lies difference between the two ideologies. Thus the world, in any case, will come to unity, but it’s advisable to avoid the terrible and bloody dictatorship, and do so in a good way. I think that it will be this way.

As for today, the main thing for all of humanity is to not to allow the formation of the Islamic State in either Iraq or Syria.

Living In A Coffin

laitman_547_06Comment: South Korea is the record holder in the rate of suicide caused by depression and stress at a workplace.

Consequently, they have invented a kind of a burial service: at the beginning of the work day the workers read goodbye letters saying how good their life was with their dear ones and then they open a coffin and lie in it, each worker with his photograph, lying in there crying.

One of the Koreans wrote: “After this experiment I realized that I have to try to live differently; to come out of the coffin of my life. I realized that I had made many mistakes and I hope I will be able to love my work and to spend more time with my family.” We should pay attention to what he says, and to the fact that his work still comes first.

Answer: Does the wisdom of Kabbalah say that a person should sit and think about how his life is going to end? It will end in nothing. What is he living for? In order to experience some small pleasures every now and them? What’s the point?

A person should have a strong motivation to live. He should have a meaning in life; he should have a goal. And we have to discover all that.

The managers in plants in South Korea are trying to somehow stimulate and motivate their workers because they want to squeeze more from them. What do they care if the workers die afterward?

Question: But why is depression so prevalent there?

Answer: Because of the nature of that nation. They are mechanical. In addition, competition is high there and they are prepared for it from childhood.

Comment: Do you regard competition negatively?

Answer: Competition should be targeted, not in order to succeed in this life and to reach the level of a director of a company, head of a department, or head of an office, and then take pride in it.

Question: How would you stimulate and motivate workers in a Korean factory?

Answer: I would motivate them differently, but in order to do that they need to be developed, meaning gathering them in teams and giving each team a task so that they will all be responsible for one another and help each other.

The importance of the common goal will help them be incorporated into each other and then having a common corporeal goal will lead them to finding a common spiritual goal. Soon the whole world will operate this way.

Question: Why don’t the Koreans go for it then?

Answer: They are not ripe enough for it yet.

Question: Do you believe that the success of every Korean plant actually depends on unity and not on competition?

Answer: Competition will not hold on much longer, and people will get used to these burial services. Never mind, a person also gets used to dying.

When There Is No Agreement Among Friends…

laitman_547_05Opinion (Recep Tayyip Erdogan): “ANKARA – As France and the world mourn the terrorist slaughter of innocents in Paris, the leaders of the G-20 are meeting in Antalya, Turkey. Terror will now vault to the top of the long list of pressing issues that will be discussed. The G-20, whose members account for about 85% of the world economy, has an important responsibility to respond to challenges that affect the lives and prosperity of millions of people around the world. It cannot risk falling into complacency and inaction, whether regarding terrorism or the fragile state of the world’s economy.

“Since Turkey assumed the presidency of the G-20 in December 2014, our approach toward ensuring inclusive and robust growth through collective action has enjoyed the support of the organization’s members. …

“When it comes to implementation, great strides have been made. … The global financial system is now more resilient than it has ever been. Financial capacities are being rebuilt, and new growth targets are being met.

“But there remains much more to be done. G-20 members should expedite efforts to deliver on their commitments to boost productivity and eliminate structural bottlenecks to investment, competition, trade, and jobs. We must also cement the fundamental reforms to the global financial system that the G-20 has delivered over the past seven years…

“Our focus on investment – a key driver of growth, jobs, and development – is also beginning to pay off. There is a huge investment gap in the global economy, both in advanced and developing countries. …

“Reducing unemployment is central to the fight against inequality. …

“As politics and economics are increasingly intertwined, the G-20 must also work together to confront our era’s geopolitical challenges. This year is an important one in the fight against climate change. …

“Meanwhile, the terror attacks in Paris have brutally reminded us, once again, that global challenges – such as terrorism, the war in Syria, and the refugee crisis – require truly global responses. …

“The Syrian civil war – now well into its fourth year – must be brought to an end, and a fair and sustainable political transition must be ensured. …

“Turkey is currently hosting some 2.2 million Syrian refugees, and we have spent more than $8 billion over the last three years caring for them. The international community must agree on a mechanism that ensures that the burden is fairly shared.

“Finally, it is important to note that Turkey continues to confront the threat of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), an organization listed as a terrorist group by both the United States and the European Union. …”

My Comment: I maintain that there is only one global problem: achieving similarity to the natural system, because the balance of our world and its necessary movement toward the goal of creation is derived from this.

The Murderer Is The Man Of The Year

Laitman_632_4Comment: In the December issue of Time magazine, their “Person of the Year” was announced. This year Chancellor Angela Merkel won the title. Runner up was awarded to the leader of the terrorist organization ISIS Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi.

Answer: The “Person of the Year” is chosen according to his influence on the world, according to how many speak about him, and not according to the quality of his policies, if they are useful or good or not, rather it is how much he advertises himself. While Angela Merkel is a soft and gentle woman, Baghdadi is a man who is ready to slaughter everyone, so should he be the “Person of the Year.” It is typical in our world that such characters are accepted as heroes. I would even say epochal.

The idea is that he should be in first place. Who is setting the world revolution, driving it? It is him. Who is Angela Merkel in comparison to him? He has founded a very strong worldwide nation. If this goes even further, and we ignore the wisdom of Kabbalah, that tells us the way the world must reach its completion of correction, he will build a worldwide caliphate. On the background of modern democracy, which is to say chaos, anarchy, and all the rest, he is perceived as prominent, clear, and predictable. If we take the model of Time it appears that he is the man around whom the entire world has turned this year.

Comment: You said that the main thing is not to let him set up a state.

Answer: Yes, but he has already set it up and that is the problem. So it is not necessary to fight somewhere, but there, where he is building this nation, cut them out at the root, so that a totally clear place will be left. It is possible to do this through very large common efforts. And meanwhile the world is playing with democracy, each one involved only with gathering his political capital at the expense of others. They constantly gather for G20 or G8 forums, while he alone goes out and appears against them saying, “I will slaughter all of you.” And they cannot decide on anything.

Very serious forces of connection and unity are required here. There is no second Al-Baghdadi who would unite them all and say: “to hell with your democracy; death is approaching you in the form of Baghdadi and his associates; you must stand against them seriously. They are already found with you in your home. What can you do? What is left for you? You need to annihilate them, if this is still possible at all. Through your policies and all kinds of calculations you are trying to undermine each other, and that is how you are making it possible for the enemy to plant a stake in your territory, and today it has already become very difficult to overcome this.”

“More” ‑ No Longer Works

laitman_273_01Opinion (Daily Reckoning, Bill Bonner): “The San Francisco Federal Reserve bank came out with a gloomy forecast last month. Its analysts said that stocks were likely to earn paltry returns over the next 10 years. The reason cited was simple enough; stockholders don’t live forever.

“‘Demography is destiny,’ said Auguste Comte. ‘It works the other way around too,’ he might have added. If they thought they were going to live longer, America’s most ubiquitous age cohort — the baby boomers — might continue to buy stocks. Instead, the cold hand of the grave is on their shoulders and on the whole economy. The boomers are retiring at the rate of 10,000 per day over the next 18 years. They will sell stocks to finance their remaining years.

“Old people have always been a drag on an economy. Migrating tribes left them behind. Eskimos put them out on the ice. Old people generally bowed to their fate with good grace. In times of famine, for example, they stopped eating so the young might live.

“Mortality has doomed the stock market, says the S.F. Fed. P/E ratios will likely be cut in half. Investors are unlikely to see their stocks return to 2010 levels, says the report, until 2027. And this assumes that US companies will continue to grow profits as they did since 1954. Not very likely. Because democracy, energy, and financial quackery are destiny too. Jointly and severally, they are responsible for the biggest financial debacle in history. …

“But what would you expect? Everything droops. For the last 3 or 4 centuries the winning formula for developed economies and their governments has been simple: More energy. More output. More people. More credit. More promises. This formula has been so effective for so long people began to think it was destiny itself. It’s not. Instead, it is slave to destiny not its master.

“By 2007, the slave was put in his place. The business cycle turned sour. Native populations in Europe and Japan are falling. Energy use per person in the developed world has leveled off. Private sector credit is shrinking. So is real private sector output.

“The feds responded to this challenge as they had to every post-WWII slowdown. They added more — more money, more credit. The government itself spent more money and used more energy. But the economy did not react in the old manner.

“An obvious reason: people are no longer as young and sans-soucis as they used to be. A young man’s eye may be drawn to fast German cars or slick Italian suits. But an old man can barely see at all. The baby boomers no longer roll their joints; they rub them. And they are no longer the source of an economic boom; now, they are the proximate cause of the bust.

“But there’s more to this new Grey Age than demography. People too are subject to the law of declining marginal utility. They wear out. But so do even the most enduring and impressive economic trends. There were only 450 million people on the planet in 1500. It took 99,000 years to reach that level. Then, over the next 5 centuries — the population soared 10 times. Today, it is hard to find a parking place in any major city. How was such a big jump in population possible? Destiny was demography. With ready, cheap energy at hand, man could grow more food. And then he could ship it all around the world. And he could put his talents to work making more and better machines…which would vastly increase his output and his standard of living. …

“Yes, there is plenty of energy around. But it is net output that you get from energy that counts, not the raw output. If a gallon of gasoline costs $5…it must produce more than $5 in additional output or the economy gets poorer. As the price rises fewer and fewer new energy apps pay off.

“Likewise, credit is subject to the law of declining marginal utility too. In 1950, an additional dollar of credit added about 70 cents to GDP. By 2007, the US economy was adding more than $5 of debt to produce a single new dollar’s worth of GDP. Now, the feds’ new credit inputs produce negative real returns.

“The jig is up. More no longer works. …”

My Comment: So, we have to acknowledge the law of Kabbalah—humanity evolves within its egoism, which has ripened, and now has over-ripened and requires replacement. This is the natural way of the development of humanity, “the path of suffering” as it is called in the wisdom of Kabbalah.

But there is also another way, informed managed development, “the path of Torah—Light,” when, developing under the influence of the Upper Light, we change in the right direction more rapidly than nature compels us. And so ahead of the force of nature that compels us to evolve, we feel we are constantly on the rise, developing painlessly, quickly, seeing the future.
