Hold the Connection between Each Other

528.01Question: How do we use reception of the light from the Creator to build a stronger connection in the ten and at the same time not crush it with light?

Answer: Don’t be afraid for the light. Be afraid that you will not have a connection with the ten. And in order to keep this connection, you need to ask all the time, without stopping.

At the same time, everyone must give himself. Try to link your desires and your requests together into one whole, and then you will receive the Creator’s answer in the same desire.

New Life 85 – A Talk On Emergency Situations, Part 2

New Life 85 – A Talk On Emergency Situations, Part 2
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz Oct 17, 2012

In what way will the people of Israel be able to come to the understanding that connection is the solution to everything? How does the wisdom of Kabbalah bring people to this understanding? How will the rest of the world eventually join them?

If the people of Israel were in an existential threat from other countries that are against them, would people lose hope? The fear is that no one would have a plan for going forward. There is also concern about economic threats, that there won’t be enough food or resources.

Let’s hope that we are able to sweeten these threats. It’s enough for us to know that we have to start changing. We need to go out openly in our advocacy regarding the destiny of the nation of Israel and its role in the correction of human evil. We have reached the point where this needs to actually take place, where we actually discover the higher idea and the higher purpose of unity with the upper force.

The wisdom of Kabbalah, previously hidden, is now opening up to correct our nature. All of humanity can come from hatred toward love, know the bounty of unity, and rise above this general crisis to reach the next degree of our existence. We need to unite and wish to discover Him between us. It’s time to finally perform the exodus from Egypt toward spiritual leadership where we activate the spiritual force. If we activate the upper force, no one can oppose us. All the hearts of the rulers of the world will turn in our favor and they will join us joyfully and embrace us as the cause of good and salvation to the entire world.

The abundance that will flow between us will also flow to the nations of the world. Unity and connection, “love your neighbor as yourself,” will give us the good connection to the upper force. It needs to go from a slogan into practical expression in the world.

Abraham was the first person to discover the one force that rules all of reality, the first to discover Kabbalah, the wisdom of connection, the upper force, the reforming light, the internality of the Torah. He tried to discover how to reveal it. Externality is the customs and laws that a person keeps. Internality is wanting to correct his nature, his evil inclination. This is what Kabbalah provides. Our real purpose in life is to change our internality. The time has come for everyone to come to the internality of the Torah.

Abraham taught all of this to his students, which is how the wisdom of Kabbalah began. To understand that there is one force influences one’s experience of the world and brings spiritual laws into actualization in our lives. The force of love organizes opposing forces; it knows how to connect and unite all the different forces in balance and harmony. The world is integral, one whole, organized by the upper force. Opposite forces always complete each other; they must be connected through this upper force, the force of love. We must discover this force of love.

We see through science that everything is interconnected, that there is a “software” inside the system that connects everything above all opposition. Where is the one force that unifies everything? It’s only the force of love, not corporeal love, but the force of connection and unity that brings everything into harmony.

All over the world, we have reached desperation. The trouble will open the ears of the public to be receptive to such solutions, to see that we are currently not connected in the right way. When we begin to use the Torah to unite between us in the light that reforms, then we won’t need breakings anymore.

Are we able to absorb the solutions that are proposed?

We can tell the public about this in a series of talks and different activities, as simply as possible, perhaps not using the examples of history of Abraham and the exodus from Egypt, but rather through modern sciences and its proofs.

“Does love require constant work to keep it fresh?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: Does love require constant work to keep it fresh?

There is a saying in the wisdom of Kabbalah that “our whole work is to discover love among us each and every day.”

Love is the general inclusive force of nature, and it is written that reaching the love of others as ourselves “is the greatest rule of the Torah” (see Kabbalist Yehuda Ashlag, “Matan Torah [The Giving of the Torah]”).

Today, in the age of globalization, we are discovering our global interconnectedness and interdependence. The force of love is bringing us closer together from the side of nature, but we are opposite to it, in a state of hatred toward one another. In other words, nature is an altruistic force and our nature is egoistic, a desire for self-benefit at the expense of others and nature. We are thus opposite to nature, and such an opposition is the cause of our every problem.

Our main problem is a lack of love. In love, we discover a life of eternity and perfection.

So why do we have to work for love? Doesn’t everybody already want love?

Indeed, we all have a desire to feel love, but how do we realize it not in a transient and involuntary way, which is how we generally feel love in our world, but in a way where we can grow the love? We realize it by inviting the force of love that dwells abundantly in nature into our connections. About drawing the force of love into our lives, it is written that “I created the evil inclination, I created the Torah as a spice, because the light in it reforms.”

The light is the force of love that can enter our lives and correct our intentions so that we genuinely want to love others as ourselves. The more we connect to sources that explain the foundations of nature—both human nature and the general inclusive nature—how we can attract the force of love in nature into our connections, and by doing so, achieve a happy and harmonious life the world over, then the more we attract the force of light and it works on correcting us.

“Why is the Rosh Hashanah important?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: Why is the Rosh Hashanah important?

Before discussing the importance of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, it is important to understand that the Jewish holidays are not the tradition of one particular nation or people. They are rather symbols of unique spiritual states where we attain a common quality of love and bestowal in higher levels of our connection among each other and with nature.

If we attain a certain level of unity that is latent in nature, then we celebrate such an event. When we rise a little further to the next level of connection among each other and with nature, then we again attain a new degree of a unified perception and sensation of nature, and celebrate such an event.

Our own decision making plays no role in determining the holidays. Instead, we celebrate the attainment of certain levels of equivalence of form that are omnipresent in nature. We thus cannot change these holidays.

Nature is an interconnected and interdependent network of altruistic forces. It is a unified system where its every part is completely interlinked. We humans, on the other hand, are the only parts of nature that oppose and resist it with our egoistic desire to benefit ourselves at the expense of others and nature.

If we—humanity or at least a critical mass within humanity—will start undergoing a process of changing our egoistic quality into an altruistic one that is similar to nature’s, then we will approach nature’s unified form.

A key step in such a process is called “recognition of evil.” It means that we need to first reach a recognition of our inborn egoistic nature holding us back from experiencing the wholeness that exists in nature. In order to then change our egoistic nature into an altruistic one that is similar to nature’s force of love and bestowal, we require a deep inner scrutiny, which is called “prayer.” In Hebrew, to pray (“Lehitpalel”) means to “incriminate” (“Lehapil”) oneself. That is, we must incriminate ourselves, and such a confession leading up to Rosh Hashanah is called “the month of Elul.”

During such a scrutiny, we view our current low egoistic state in comparison to the exalted and whole altruistic state of love, bestowal and connection, which we wish to reach. The immense chasm between those two states give rise to a prayer, where we judge ourselves and express a great desire to change our egoistic intention into an altruistic one that is similar to nature’s.

We find how our egoistic nature turns us into criminals together with the discovery of an overpowering and much greater force above our egoistic powers, the altruistic force of nature, to which we wish to advance.

That state is called “Rosh Hashanah,” the beginning (“Rosh”) of our change (“Shinui”). It is the beginning of a new cycle of states through which we progress in order to become more and more like the loving and bestowing force of nature.

Difficulties on the Spiritual Path

278.03 So is the nature—he craves and each time imagines that he is already marching on the highway. And suddenly, he looks back to the place from which he came, and then leaves the highway and reconnects with the uneducated people and follows them (RABASH, Letter 21).

The fact is that a person needs to leave the straight path in order to feel the need for the Creator’s help.

On one hand, if we do not have disappointments and all kinds of feelings of weakness on the spiritual path, then we do not need the help of the Creator. On the other hand, how can we descend into states where we need His help? We do not need to avoid difficulties. We just have to plunge into them and see that we cannot move forward, that the Creator specifically arranges all kinds of descents for us, from which we shout and ask Him to help us.

The Structure of the Spiritual Vessel

243.03In the “Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah,” Baal HaSulam introduces a new concept of “Partzuf” (spiritual vessel), which is divided into rosh (head), toch (body), and sof (lower extremity).

A Partzuf is a collection of desires connected by a single desire for the sake of bestowal.

In Kabbalah, one differentiates the Partzufim of Hochma that can receive for the sake of bestowal and Partzufim of Bina that are capable of only bestowing for the sake of bestowal.

The division of each Partzuf into three parts is due to the fact that it has a part that calculates whether it is able to receive the upper light for the sake of bestowal, the head (rosh). The middle part, toch (body), receives a portion of the upper light and enjoys it. The third part of the Partzuf, sof (lower extremity), located below the second part, does not receive the upper light and acts with the intention to stop it.

Besides those, there are many additional parts of the body, which in Kabbalah are designated as parts of the Partzuf (spiritual Kli, vessel). The Partzuf does everything with its parts that is necessary in order to receive the upper light for the sake of similarity with the Creator.

Connect with the Creator

232.1Question: How do fear and awe of the Creator combine with the fact that I can lean on Him at any moment, that He is literally my support?

Answer: Connect with the Creator as with a great friend. Awe of Him is not a fear of punishment; it is a great desire to connect with Him.

To transform fear for loved ones into awe of the Creator, include them in yourself and rise to the Creator.
