The Hikikomori Phenomenon

Dr. Michael LaitmanFrom My Facebook Page Michael Laitman 2/7/20

In Japan, more and more people, so-called Hikikomori, choose a “social diet:” they isolate themselves, make money by freelancing, and don’t even leave home. They live their lives in the virtual world.

How does it influence both themselves and the society that they live in?

According to the laws of nature, there are two main phenomena happening all around: disintegration and integration. Disintegration flows naturally, while integration requires our common efforts, including exiting our comfort zones.

Therefore, either physically or virtually, we need to start connecting in order to realize the purpose of our lives. We shouldn’t wait until we reach helplessness caused by our separation, but rather to ask ourselves now: “What is it all for?”

According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, sooner or later, we will all come to a point where we have to realize what are we living for and start acting in order to attain our destination, no matter if we are Hikikomori or “real” people.

Why Would Women Be Better Leaders Than Men?

Dr. Michael LaitmanFrom My Facebook Page Michael Laitman 2/7/20

In general, everything depends on the environment’s needs. If there is an understanding that for a particular purpose, either a male or a female manager is preferable, then the environment brings such a need to fruition.

Nevertheless, there are a number of reasons why women could be preferable to men in management. However, it is not about deciding who is better, but how can we connect different approaches in order to receive the most efficient result.

Realizing the nature of both men and women, we need to fit them into a perfect middle line, where women remain women and men remain men, but where they also rise above their natural qualities, together building something new. All we have to do is to learn how to correctly create that middle line and continually modify it if the process requires it.

My Friends In My Heart

laitman_259.02We can imagine what the prayer to the Creator should consist of. We can discuss it in general. But why is it so difficult to utter these words that address Him? I have to feel myself, and myself as a part of the group, see their contribution, and the impression of the Creator that I receive through them. I gather all these impressions inside, and use them to turn to the Creator through the ten.

I have to put it all through my heart. Whenever the heart is unable to do the work, I help with my mind, my thoughts. It is best for it to be the work of the heart, for the mind to merely support the heart when I cannot feel my mind at all, working exclusively with the senses.

This is how we must work throughout the day, every day, gathering inspiration from all the friends. I do not even need to physically meet with them for that. My friends are in my heart, and I exert effort to feel them, become inspired, and feel the Creator, common to us all, within such inspiration. With this inspiration from the Creator that I receive through my friends, I pass the prayer back to Him, MAN, also through my friends. This is the circle of our work.

The Purpose Of A Kabbalistic Group, Part 11

laitman_528.02To Not Harm Yourself or Your Friend

Question: In Kabbalah it is written that one cannot discuss the spiritual states of the friends in the group, only their external actions. Why?

Answer: We never “fit” into each other and do not try to discuss the intentions or heights of revealing the upper world of each of the friends. We do not deal with this, and we do not even have the right to get into it.

Question: That is, I cannot say to my friend: “You are in some descent today?”

Answer: No, you can only somehow support your friend.

Question: If I see some external actions of a friend, can I discuss or criticize them?

Answer: We can discuss the external actions of our friends with the aim of generally acting correctly on them and on the group. But we should do it very carefully, based on love of friends.

Remark: One of the Kabbalistic principles is to disallow frivolity in the group in relation to the importance of the goal.

Answer: This is very important. There should be no arbitrary existence in the group that allows frivolity. We must exist only in order to engage in the attainment of the Creator as prescribed by the science of Kabbalah. No other goals or actions should be acceptable within the group.

Our goal is to reveal the Creator, or more precisely His quality of bestowal, which is so contrary to the whole of society that if we somehow cultivate its importance and suddenly someone brings doubts into the group, it can be very damaging.

Therefore, it is forbidden to talk about individual states a person reveals on the spiritual path so as not to interfere with other people. I do not talk about these states with a friend, but remind the friend about our lofty goal in general phrases.

Question: But how could this harm him?

Answer: By this we introduce errors into one another.

Question: If I talk about some exalted spiritual states?

Answer: You can talk about them. It is best to take examples from a book. But you should not talk about your states, ever. A friend is not yet corrected; he or she would become jealous, and it will harm you.

Building The Future Society, Part 11

laitman_294.4Outlines of the Future Society

Baal HaSulam, “Building the Future Society, Chapter 3, Item 10: Tokens of due honors should be imparted according to the religion; the greater benefit one contributes to society, the higher decoration one shall receive.

Naturally, others should be encouraged. I have to take and hang medals on my chest so that those people who are still more interested in honor than in loving their neighbors, then via honor, they will be drawn to love others.

Though not everyone is obligated to engage in spirituality but only special people, depending on the needs. Let’s say the Bnei Baruch group of all the millions of people, and the world group of all the billions of people. I do not think that this can be more than a hundredth of a percent of the total population of the Earth.

Just like there are people who engage in science and there are those who use all scientific achievements in practice. It depends on the person, one’s inclinations and desires.

There will be a sort of high-court. Those who will want to dedicate their labor for spiritual life will be permitted to do so by this court.

Everything will be determined by the upper governance because there are many who desire as it is today, for example, in universities. Many people want to be scientists, but not everyone can become one, and therefore strict selection is carried out.

New Life 1197 – Being A Jew

New Life 1197 – Being A Jew
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Yael Leshed-Harel

The root of a Jewish person is different to the rest of the world. The root of a Jew is in detachment from the ego. The Jewish people should constantly think about how to benefit others. To be Jewish means to love one’s neighbor as oneself. Jews have been prepared for the integral perception of all reality as one force through nature. From Abraham’s time, Jews were taught how to rise above differences, the ego, and hatred, and attain unity and love. All of humanity needs to develop in this way and feel as one.
