Everything Changes Under The Influence Of The Light

281.01Rabash, “Concerning the Importance of Friends”: But how can one consider one’s friend as greater than himself, when he can see that his own merits are greater than his friend’s, that he is more talented and has better natural qualities?

This is right. Egoism is always setting us up. But under the influence of the Light everything changes.

We are only egoistic beings. There is nothing in me but one hundred percent egoism. To the extent that the Light influences me, it weakens egoism in me a little and I begin to feel that others are above me.

I begin to understand that what I had seen before and that now is different depends only on the intensity of the Light that affects me. And there is no truth.

Therefore, if I want to be closer to the Creator and become like Him, then I want the Light to act on me as much as possible. At the same time, I understand that then I will look like the lowest and slowest person, who does not understand anything. But I don’t care; on the contrary, it pleases me because I reveal the truth that there is nothing in me except egoism.

Thus, the first action of the Light is the feeling that everything in me speaks of egoism. And the second is that instead of egoism, the property of the Light is beginning to take shape in me.

A Kabbalist’s Prayer

624.02Question: How does the Kabbalist’s request differ from the prayer of an ordinary believer?

Answer: A Kabbalist asks for his own correction in order to correct the world, which, in principle, is in him. Every Kabbalist feels responsible for the world. One only needs to correct himself, not others.

On the other hand, an ordinary believer asks to be well, to escape any punishment, for the Creator to have mercy on him, and to go to heaven. All are absolutely selfish requests.

Kabbalah usually does not deal with comparison. Only the ones who feel an inner yearning toward the meaning of life in order to reveal the Creator are given this opportunity.

laitman_962.7Question: If I feel that many forces are working within and outside of me, how does this fit with the statement that “There is none else besides Him” (Deuteronomy 4:35)?

Answer: The Creator is an immense quantity of forces joined together into a single force field. But this is Him: one desire, one goal, and many forces that are connected together to bring everyone to a single state. Therefore, we are influenced by many forces, thoughts, and desires of various kinds.

Question: What difference does it make for the law of nature if I agree with its uniqueness or not?

Answer: The fact is that the thought of the Creator is to bring all creatures to a full connection with Him, to attain the same level of universal and integral existence as His.

Question: If representatives from Hollywood were to come to you and offer to make a movie about the Creator, what kind of picture would you show?

Answer: I would show a network of forces: how multifaceted and multidimensional they are. It is possible and necessary to talk about the Creator, gradually bringing awareness about Him to every person.

Question: In which circumstances can the Creator cut off the connection with me and take away the awareness that He manages everything?

Answer: Even if that happens, you must acknowledge that the Creator is doing this too. The main thing is to understand that it is from Him. Everything begins from that.

Question: Why do I get punished for my thoughts if they are not mine?

Answer: There are no punishments in the world! There is no reward either. There is simply learning, when a person is taught how to come to the revelation of the uniqueness of the Creator, because this is the only goal of our development.

Question: It is said that we were created according to the image and the likeness of the Creator. What do “image” and “likeness” mean?

Answer: This is not about a person in our world, but about the creation of Adam, that is, a system that fully resembles the Creator and exists according to His image and likeness.

Question: If the Creator manages me by sending me all kinds of thoughts, then does he bear responsibility for the consequences of the actions to which these thoughts that are sent by Him bring me?

Answer: Don’t worry about Him; He can bear responsibility for everything, even in regard to Himself.

Remark: Some people believe that the Creator you are talking about is not very reliable. And others say that if we pray to Him, He will help.

My Comment: But before He helps, He throws a mound of troubles and problems on them, and apparently, after that He helps. They have a good Creator, but He is somewhat inconsistent.

My Thoughts On Twitter 3/1/19

Dr Michael Laitman Twitter

#Israel are the first to receive the influence from above, and from them it spreads to the whole world. Hence they are called Isra-El (Li-Rosh – A Head for Me) since they are the first to receive the upper influence, which is then passed on to the whole world.
(Beer Maim Chaim, Truma)

The #Torah is intended for man’s correction—to bring him to adhesion with the Creator by equivalence of form.
This happens by the light OM [Ohr Makif], which returns one to the Source.
The light influences those studying Torah – Kabbalah to the extent of their efforts to unite in the ten.

Torah must be studied with the aim of correcting egoism. If there is no correction of egoism after studying the revealed Torah, one must move on to studying Kabbalah, which awakens the intention to be corrected since it talks about intentions and not about our world …
…. in the language of branches.

Besides feeling love, one must feel worry—not for himself, but because he fears losing the love under the pressure of disturbances. Perfection is felt only if there is love coupled with worry about preserving it, while thinking only of the Creator.

One who wishes to attain spirituality falls down on the path, so much that he wishes to leave the path. But he must believe that it is not he who departs from spirituality, but spirituality departs from him because he wishes to depart from spirituality.
But if he strengthens in moving forward, he is rewarded with strength.

Heaviness is felt when you cannot annul to the Creator, as if you don’t exist, but you think only about Him, or feel how He fills you. Success in this depends only on the Creator’s greatness in you, and the greatness depends on gratitude to the Creator…

A branch from the upper root is called #Israel, defined as carrying out the correction of the world, having the quality of eliciting the #correction of the nations. The nations of the world cannot develop spiritually on their own, but are willing to receive it from Israel.
(Baal HaSulam, “The Maid Inherits the Mistress”)
#TikkunOlam

One must first attain the upper roots in their true form. Only then, after attaining and grasping them in reason, can one research their consequences in our world, since every consequence comes from its upper root in all the details.

Let’s Reveal What A Soul Is About

Laitman_177.13Question: Why is a person so attracted to conversations about the soul?

Answer: It is because the soul is the source of life; it is our essence, what we in reality represent through ourselves. We exist infinitely in spiritual space. We are very close to the start of our revelation of the soul in our time.

Question: What parts does the soul consist of?

Answer: The soul consists of ten Sefirot. When you connect in a ten you will gradually reveal the structure of the soul within it. A sensation of fulfillment will appear between you. It is called the Light of the soul or the Creator.

Question: People often say “My soul is tormented.” What does it mean?

Answer: Let’s instead reveal what the soul is. The soul is a part of the Creator in us, the property of bestowal and love, the property of connection between us.

The Request Must Start From The Group

laitman_963.8Question: For thousands of years, billions of people have been praying for their unfilled desires to be filled. Where are their answers and what is the sense of praying to an unknown Creator?

Answer: First, they ask egoistically. We are trying to reach requests for altruism, the property of bestowal and love—this is the most important thing.

Second, in order to really ask correctly, we try to bring this request through the ten so that it is the same for everyone, collected and coordinated with everyone. From this Minyan (the ten), all ten people rush with one request to the Creator.

The ten is one spiritual unit. If you do not ask from the ten, then you are not a spiritual unit and the Creator does not feel you.

You often ask: “And if I myself ask for my relatives?” …Ask. In the end, you will see that the whole world does this, but nothing happens.

The request must originate from the Kabbalistic group that clearly understands that the system in which we exist is created as an egoistic one on purpose in order for us to ask only for our correction and raise this request correctly.

Question: Do the friends in the ten have to hear my words, know about them, or is it my personal inner state when, from our connection, I appeal to the Creator for them?

Answer: They do not need to hear your words. But in principle, if you ask, it is best to appeal to the Creator with the desires that have been agreed upon in the ten. Not at the moment, but in general when the ten agrees with this and would also like to participate in raising this desire to the Creator.

The Difference Between Corporeal Fear And Spiritual Fear

laitman_260.01Fear can be the fear of death, or the fear of uncertainty. What is the difference between fear and trepidation?

When I work with my desire to enjoy out of fear for myself, for my egoism, that is called fear. If I work with my desire for the sake of bestowal to the Creator and I doubt whether I bestow to Him or not without thinking about myself, that is called trepidation.

Fear is where my egoism (for me) is, and trembling is where the Creator (for the Creator) is. Fear is a consequence of the lack of faith.1

Corporeal fear shows that we lack spiritual fear. If I have fear of the Creator, then there no room for corporeal fear; I will elevate it to the spiritual level. It is important why I am doing this: do I want to get rid of the corporeal fear or I am joyful about it because it is an incentive for me to reach trepidation toward the Creator?

Fear is a sensation in the will to receive, and trepidation is in the desire to bestow. Therefore, it is necessary to use fear in a very prudent, minimally possible form since it does not correspond to the good desire of the friends and the good desire of the Creator.

It is necessary to elevate the greatness and the importance of the Creator to the maximum in order for it to be the driving force that pulls us forward, and not fear that pushes us from behind.

I imagine the greatness of Creator, and therefore, I strive toward Him, not in order to hide from the problem but to strive toward the source of goodness. That is, we must steer close toward bestowal to the maximum.2

You only need to be afraid that you will stop thinking about the Creator, that there is none else besides Him who is good and does good, falling into this world and neglecting the Creator instead of appreciating Him, and about disconnecting from the ten and forgetting about your friends.

I am ready to be connected to the Creator, but my connection with Him through the group is constantly disrupted. The Creator is an unchanging force, but the soul, that is, the ten, changes all the time, and because of that I lose it every second. Therefore, I am in fear of losing my soul (Kli), the ten. Suddenly, I will fall and get carried away in the turbulent stream and they will be unable to save me or they will not be able to dig and extract me from my egoistic prison.

If I break away from the ten, it means that I break away from the Creator. If I am separated from the ten but think that I am connected to the Creator, it means that it is not the Creator but a completely opposite direction and I have lost all 180 degrees, as it is written: “Thou hast not called upon Me, O Jacob.”3
