Before And After Entering The Land Of Israel

laitman_749_02Question: Why does Moses repeat the laws of the Torah to the people again and again?

Answer: It is in order for them to understand the entire path they travelled before entering the land of Israel and to prepare for entry into the promised land.

After all, from the border of the land of Israel onward, they must work with the same egoism, the same golden calf, with the second restriction that took place in a mixture of gold (Malchut) with a stream of water (Bina). Now, it is like they must dig it all.

Moses seems to tell his people, “During the forty years of wandering in the desert, besides the quality of Malchut that you had in Egypt, you acquired the quality of Bina. Now, are you beginning not just to interact with them, but to work in order to bestow. When you cultivate and plough the earth, you get the fruits of the earth.” In other words, this is now the land of Israel.

Question: Is it possible to say that the way of Torah is a passive way?

Answer: If we don’t understand what actions we need to perform on ourselves, then this is a passive way since there is none else besides Him and the Creator does everything. I have nothing to do other than to agree with what He does within me and try always to move in unison with Him. However, when I need to move in unison with Him, my work becomes very challenging, complex, and compound.

Agreement is the starting point. I agree with the fact that only the Creator exists and He is good that does good, and after He does only good, I need to correct myself, to expose myself under His influence so that my qualities really would become the same as His, so that I would feel inside them His personal and only good action.

This occurs both before and after entering the land of Israel. The difference is only in the power with which it is done. Either it is done in the quality of bestowal before entering the land of Israel, or it is done in the quality of reception after entering. But this happens closer to the construction of the Temple.

A Man And A Woman – The Spiritual Root Of Supremacy

Laitman_066_03Question: Why do men express their supremacy so frequently by brute physical force? What is the spiritual root for it?

Answer: A man has to basically show his supremacy over a woman and a woman expects the man to behave that way but only for the right cause. On the one hand, it is a woman’s nature to obey the man. On the other hand, she has the desire to obey the right force so that it will guide her and that together they will reach the right goal, the Creator.

“Naked Restaurants”

Laitman_508_1In the News (Forbes): “Naked restaurants, or ‘foodies for nudies’ as many call them, are becoming a trend, and a number have been opening with great success in, among other cities, London, Milan, Tokyo, Melbourne and, soon, Paris.

“Dining ‘au naturel’ reached a whole new level this summer when, for the opening in June of London’s first ‘food-in-the-nude’ restaurant, The Bunyadi, more than 46,000 aspiring patrons rushed their names on to the waiting list, according to its website. …

“’It’s going to be the same in Paris as it has been in London, back to the start, no mobile phones, all natural, candles, and raw, organic food,’ the restaurant’s events planner told The Local. ‘We think the French would pretty much love this; there are a lot of naturists there.'”

Answer: The question is what is the reason for this phenomenon? I am not being self-righteous. I know human nature, but on the other hand, when we undress we put on a new form. Everywhere in the world clothes are not just pieces of cloth but a symbol for a person’s intention, for his inclination and the respect he feels toward others, for primitive and for modern people alike.

If a person wants to stand out among others, he wears different jewels. Or does one want to show to what degree he respects the common meal, the common time together? And it can raise the spirits and bring about a feeling of great pleasure. A meal doesn’t have to be in a tense atmosphere, like breakfasts for diplomats who don’t eat anything but carry on long diplomatic talks.

It still has to be pleasant. And there must be a dress code because it emphasizes the respect one feels for his peers. The 46,000 reservations for the nudists’ restaurant is a sign of a serious regression of mankind.

From a Kabbalistic perspective, this is a delightful event, of course, because it shows that we are getting closer to major changes in humanity when we become aware where we are in our arbitrary developmental process and that we cannot go on this way. We have to start managing our development and become humans instead of remaining like animals.

Basically, what makes us different from animals? Animals barely develop and do so very slowly. Humanity is evolving, but arbitrarily, under the influence of upper force, without any intervention on its part. What are our thoughts, feelings, intentions, we are, as they say, “blowing with the wind.” We ourselves are not involved in this, and in this sense we are worse than animals.

We shouldn’t look at our technological progress but at ourselves, at our culture, at people, at our society, at those who develop into toxic matter of which there is nothing to be proud. Humanity must acknowledge the fact that it must wisely participate in its development. We have to discover nature’s intentions and aspire for the upper ideal by ourselves and not put ourselves into an opposite state in order to understand at a certain point that this inclination is wrong and then correct it by having to actually climb out of the sewage.

Looking To The Future Monkey

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (KM.ru): “Portal KM.RU as an educational project aims to acquaint its readers with the latest scientific achievements. Today our interlocutor – one of the leading Russian experts in the field of brain research, Professor, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Sergei Saveliev . …

“Expressed in everyday language, our brains are lazy, lustful and idle; that is, it wants to relax, eat well, relax and enjoy sex. The reason is simple: everything is managed through the calculation of the expenditure of energy required for mental activity. In humans, there is a special biological mechanism, which limits our ability to engage in intellectual matters. …

“What follows from all this, the main conclusion?

“Mankind is by leaps and bounds approaching beastliness. This I prove in my book, with facts and the research results. I think we should do something to stop the ongoing biological evolution. There is also the process of approaching the ‘bright’ future monkey.

“Wait, evolution is proceeding in the direction of degradation?

“Yes. Scientific evidence shows that the brains of people of our species has decreased. I emphasize that I speak not about the Neanderthals, but about our direct ancestors. Modern Europeans’ brain mass was reduced by an average of 200-250 grams compared to the Cro-Magnons. Do you know what 250 grams? It’s just the weight of the brain of Bonobo chimpanzees. So, with a decrease in the brain, the likelihood of genius is reduced.

“It may seem paradoxical, but the advent of computers and distribution systems of pseudo-information has spurred the movement of humanity back to the jungle and caves.”

My Comment: This is a process that is necessary only for recognizing the evil of our beastly egoistic nature. After humanity passes through the stage of the recognition of evil, with the help of the Kabbalists, it will discover the possibility of attracting a second, anti-egoistic force to itself, the force of goodness, bestowal, and love. It will be able to exist within the right integration of these two forces in the middle line.

New Life 753 – Expectations And Disappointments

New Life 753 – Expectations And Disappointments
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

According to our nature we anticipate pleasure all the time. If a child doesn’t see something pleasurable ahead of him, he will not grow. The expectation mechanism exists in us to bring us to resolve the big question, why are we alive?

Since we don’t want to be disappointed, we develop defense mechanisms and learn not to expect anything so that we won’t be disappointed. Disappointment is the place that is not filled with what we expected to be filled and its purpose is to direct us toward a goal correctly.

In contrast to people, animals have no expectations for the future; they adhere to the moment. But the more a person develops, the more distant is his vision of the future. If a person has a higher purpose, he relates to all expectations and disappointments as corrections of direction on his way there.

In systems of relationships in which we truly love others, this in itself is fulfilling for us. The realization of love is giving, and to the degree that a person gives, he is fulfilled. So it doesn’t depend on the other side, but upon his relationship to the other side.

Our world is entirely egoistic; we draw pleasure to ourselves and therefore encounter limitations and become tired. The whole idea is to develop love from us to others. So if someone gets tired of love, this indicates it is not complete love. Love beyond the ego, which is not for those who are close to us but for those who are strangers, is not tiring. Instead it opens a person to the upper world. Then one is nourished by the general force of nature, which is entirely love and has limitless energy.
