“Future Of The State: National, Irrational, Catastrophic”

laitman_220In the News (spiegel.de): “It is not long ago that the progressive opening of the borders was a certainty. A worldwide movement wanted to tear down the narrow confines of the law. An unstoppable globalization progress, was prophesied. …

“Data, product and capital flows would ensure that the state would become weaker, and in addition that cultural barriers would fall was hoped.

“Now a backlash has begun: EU-members are closing and fortifying borders that they previously wanted to keep absolutely open. …

“Priorities have shifted dramatically. Citizens are concerned about the security the state provides, especially in Europe. … Surprisingly many people view protectionism positively (38 percent) and globalization negatively (39 percent).

“This change in mood is understandable. Hopes for unlimited rising prosperity were not realized, at least since the onset of the recession from 2008 and 2009 respectively. Prevailing since then is a permanent crisis mode with exacerbated conflicts over distribution. Where these are ideologically charged, terror and war thrive. Accordingly, the security needs of citizens rises. …

“A state that can not secure its borders, loses its statehood. …

“The role of the state has grown over the centuries. The more complex societies were, the more institutions they needed to manage collective problems – judiciary, army, police, education, social security, environmental protection, privacy …

“Especially in the 19th century, the state responsibilities grew enormously. Within a few decades, rural agrarian societies developed into large-scale industrial companies. Large-scale transport networks were needed to transport industrial goods between the newly created cities. Schools and universities equipped the industry with qualified employees. … Companies were bigger and more anonymous. …

“To effectively perform public duties, States unified and enlarged their territories. …

“International cooperation intensified. …

“Humanitarian disasters such as in Syria , the damage to the global climate from greenhouse gases, wild fluctuating capital flows – all that exceeds the capabilities of today’s nation-states. Therefore confidence wanes in their institutions. Therefore fail national leadership figures. Whether there are rulers, the opposition, or extremist, they cannot deliver on their promises of salvation.

“Rationally considered, we would do everything possible to overcome the nation state today. Because its scope is no longer enough. To solve the problems, parts of sovereignty to international levels are displaced. One approach, that of Western Europe has gone on for decades, through the deepening of the EU and the euro.

“But the unresolved permanent crises in recent years – from the financial- about the euro – to the refugee crisis – have battered the credibility of the EU institutions. Instead of perfecting the European order, we are now experiencing a reference back to ever smaller government units.

“It is the triumph of national feelings over reason, an aberration, considered rational.”

My Comment: People act instinctively. So it is a natural tendency in a time of crisis, terrorism, and wars to gather again into their nations, become isolated, contract, and tackle their own problems. But the inexorable laws of nature are pushing us toward full unity. The solution is in understanding the laws of nature and following them. The wisdom of Kabbalah leads us to this.

New Life 523 – What Is A Soul?

New Life 523 – What Is A Soul?
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

The soul is a “portion of God from above” (Job 31:2); that is, the soul is part of the Divine. The higher power is good and benevolent; it is the infinite power of bestowal, love, and giving. A part of it is also called the soul.

There is no connection between the soul and our body. Our body is a body like the body of an animal. It is even possible to print it with a three-dimensional printer. According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, Adam (Man) is defined as similar to the force of bestowal and love.

The characteristic of love and bestowal that we build are the Adam in us or the body of the soul, and the Light of the soul enters into it. In our physical body there is no mind, no soul, or anything, but just the life force like in the bodies of animals.

To attain a soul, what is required is work on ourselves that is not simple, the building of the characteristics of love and bestowal. Our ego is self-love and the soul is the opposite characteristic, the characteristic of altruism.

Every person can attain a soul and reveal the Divinity, eternal life called “paradise.” And one can do this only during the course of his or her life in a body, when there is egoism. Only at this time is it possible to transform the egoism into altruism and attain the soul.

In attaining the soul, there are different levels, which are called: Nefesh, Ruach, Neshama, Chaya, and Yechida. In sum, this is 125 levels.

The soul, the desire to love, is called the body of the soul, the Kli, and the fulfillment that is felt in it is called the Light of the soul. The Light of the soul is enormous pleasure, greater than everything that all people together have ever experienced. Until we have prepared a Kli that is accommodated to absorbing this pleasure, we cannot attain it, otherwise we would explode…The Kli for receiving this enormous pleasure is the building of the supernatural characteristic of love and bestowal to others.

The Terrorist Attack In Tel Aviv

Dr. Michael LaitmanComment:  As a result of the terrorist attack in the shopping and entertainment center in Tel Aviv, four people were killed and sixteen injured. This caused a surge of joy in the military wing of Hamas, in Gaza, and adjacent countries. This way began the Muslim holiday of Ramadan.

Answer: Terrorist attacks have to be restrained not with military means, so aggression from our side won’t help.

The most effective is to take away from terrorists their ideological base, and not to use force against force. If they act according to the ideological motives, we too must respond in the same way. And our ideological strength is only in unity.

If we don’t unite, we will have nothing that can oppose what they put forward. Therefore, neither the decisions of our ministers nor the destruction of the houses of terrorists will give any results. They are good as a preventative method or as a tactic, but nothing else.

We have no other choice. We have only one weapon and it is unity. Through it we invite from the depth of Nature its greatest power, the so-called Upper Light. Like a laser beam it burns away all the evil on its way and leaves only good.

This is the weapon we can acquire if we really want to unite. Then in the center of our connection, in the center of our nation the Light that is directed to everything that prevents us from becoming one single entity will appear. At the same time all negative forces and everyone who is against this rule will disappear from the world and the world will come to its unity.

We must do one thing only: to be conductors of the upper Light to our world. This is the mission of all Jewish people.

The Mission Of The Kabbalist

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Torah serves as a basis for everything that happens in humanity. By some inconceivable streams and links, everything in the world is connected to Kabbalah: science, culture, art, and beliefs.

Everything else is an animal development of humanity because the world is divided into two parts: “Render to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what belongs to God.”

Comment: However, humanity still needs to come to this, despite the understanding that everything is taken from there….

Answer: I also used to be like all of humanity. So what?

You begin to explore, delve deeper, and at the same time, you don’t lose your head and feelings. You stay a normal human being with all of the desires, understanding, and connection with this world.

Together with it, you penetrate into the structure of the universe, and you see completely different things there, something that physicists just start talking about. You discover the Infinity, and this is not infinity the way that we understand it. In fact, these are your normal, internal states, just not corporeal.

Comment: The Torah is a basis for everything. However, it will take a long time until people come to the understanding of Kabbalah.

Answer: This is not true! If a person receives just a little prick, he says, “Oh! Enough! I am ready! No more.” Nowadays, we are exactly in such a state. Therefore, one little prick with a stick, a stimulus, is enough for us to move our donkey (Chamor in Hebrew)—that is, our matter (Chomer)—forward. We just need to be pricked, in other words, to receive a stimulus.

Question: Do you think that we will see a mass transition of the people to the “land of Israel”?

Answer: I don’t have any expectations. I must do what I can till the last breath. This is the best.

Of course, everyone should want to be like Moses, but not everyone can. Nevertheless, each of us must reach their purpose, perhaps a small one, but his own. Then, you will rise to the same level of Infinity, to the same height as Rabbi Shimon, the author of The Book of Zohar, Moses, and all other Kabbalists, the so-called superhumans.

Just do your part! It doesn’t matter who you are and with whom you communicate. If you, in your place, are able to invest your maximum effort into connection between people and their adhesion to the Creator, you will rise to exactly the same level as all great Kabbalists.

Question: Is a person given the understanding that this is exactly his place?

Answer: If he is open for it, his mission will find him.

Tactical And Strategic Plans

laitman_740_01Midrash Rabah, Devarim, Va’etchanan: I entreated the Lord at that time, saying, “O Lord God, You have begun to show Your servant Your greatness and Your strong hand, for who is [like] God in heaven or on earth who can do as Your deeds and Your might?

You cannot be compared to a king of flesh and blood who has advisors and associates who restrain him when he wishes to act with kindness and to forego his regulations. You, however, have no one to prevent you from forgiving me and annulling Your decree.”

The quality of Moses continues to work and develop precisely in the generation that he had brought up.

Pray let me cross over and see the good land that is on the other side of the Jordan, this good mountain and Lebanon. Let me see the Temple itself where sacrifices for the redemption of the sins of the people will be performed.

The fact is that the Torah uses a dual path. On the one hand, the correction happens according to the actions of the people, and on the other, the Creator has His plan, regardless of the actions of the people because He has to think about the correction of the entire world simultaneously. It means that there are tactical and strategic plans.

Tactically, in general, Moses is right. If his students are going forward, why can’t he himself continue the work he has begun?

However, according to the strategic plan, a next degree must now go into action. The next degree is his student, Joshua, who isn’t as wise a man as Moses, but he is a leader and a warrior. Completely new work starts that Moses can’t perform. Therefore, the warriors, the Cohens, and the Levites come to replace him.
