Eternal Love

laitman_934Question: The Creator’s name is love, which tells us about Him. When we love, we become like Him. When we die, we disappear and cannot love anymore. Is the Creator’s love eternal or not?

Answer: There is no death but a change in our perception of reality from the perception through the body, seemingly as if through a corporeal body, to a direct perception in the desire called a soul.

When we acquire the connection with the soul along with this perception we smoothly transcend to the next form of perception. The connection with the soul is acquired through our love of mankind. But this is not what is meant by love now, in our egoism,; it is outside ourselves, outside egoism. Kabbalah teaches about love and it and the Creator are perceived (in the group of friends).

A New Reality

laitman_738Opinion (Dr. A. Dmitriev): “New and rapid reformations of the biosphere and the climate mechanism are happening on the background of physical and geophysical changes on our Earth and major transformational changes in the state of the solar system in general.

  • “The polarity of the geomagnetic field is changing. The North Pole is switching with the South Pole and vice versa.
  • We are left without protection against the rapid processes of the climate mechanism.
  • Natural disasters are happening; this is a reorganization of our climate and biosphere. On the other side of these disasters, a new reality is found.
  • The behavior and state of human beings are absolutely connected with the behavior and state of the environment that surrounds us, nature.
  • More and more, and in particular beyond the active destruction and rifts, ‘atmospheric rifts’ are observed, the Northern Lights above Alta are signs of a new reality.
  • The physical and chemical qualities of the atmosphere are changing.
  • Evolution is now found to be accelerating. The acceleration is 20 times faster. A new homeostasis is created. Plants and animals accept the new model of the climate that is being built according to a systematic cosmic solar program. But we are living according to old norms.
  • There are no disasters in nature. Rapid processes are happening in the conversion of energy in the biosphere to a new phase. The disaster is with human beings. Humans are found to be lagging behind greatly in the evolution of nature.
  • There is no knowledge or understanding on the human side, an understanding that the universe is conscious and the Earth is a living organism.
  • The main processes of the solar system are measured and calculated. At their foundation is found the conscious working of the universe, the passage of the solar system, including humans, to the next level of evolution.

“But due to the fact that humans have the gift of freedom of choice, it is impossible to drag them anywhere forcefully, not to the Garden of Eden and not to Hell. They choose their way themselves. People are themselves the creators of both their own happiness and their unhappiness.”

My Comment: Lately scientists are thinking the way that the Kabbalists have thought throughout the generations. Discovery of this picture of nature is leading them to the right conclusions. The problem of science is that nobody listens to it, just as they don’t listen to the wisdom of Kabbalah. Egoism shuts their eyes. Kabbalists experience this much more deeply than scientists because they have the wisdom of Kabbalah in their hands, an effective means for realizing freedom of choice and the mission of man in nature correctly.

It is possible to say that all of the threatening processes are happening only so that humanity will be involved with them and in this way they will elevate themselves to the next level of evolution, to the spiritual level, and will stop feeling this world as a reality, but as data given to us within our transient feelings.

Uniting The Nation Is An Accumulative Process

laitman_570Rav Kook says: “if we are annihilated the world will also be destroyed with us because of unfounded hate; but if we are rebuilt, the world will also be rebuilt with us thanks to selfless love.”

However, on its own, the nation is not going anywhere; it cannot disappear without a trace. Everything depends on the amount of sufferings that we will have to go through in order to understand that we are doing everything wrong.

Question: What else do we need in order to understand things as a nation? I am in contact with many people and I see that people who hear this from you over and over again don’t understand how close we are to another tragedy.

Answer: That’s the way it has always been. In order to change this trend we have to prepare the nation for unity and to try to present it to the nation as a tasty dish with different spices and sauces. So people will at least understand a little about where it all stems from and will begin to participate in different unity events.

So far it seems all such efforts are in vain. In fact it is an accumulative effort during which the internal potential in the people who come, participate, and leave grows as if nothing at all happened. But on the other hand, when nature pressures them and they find themselves in some threatening situation, everything that has sunk in will play an important role and help us unite.

2. The thought of creation is to delight His creatures and no pleasure is perceived by the creature while he must be separated from the Creator. Moreover, we learn that the Creator craves to dwell in the lower ones.

3. It is written in The Book of Zohar, “There is no place vacant of Him.” The fact that we are unable to feel him is because we lack the vessels of sensation. Just like we know that the radio receives sounds that are present in the world, since the receiver does not make the sounds, but rather, the sounds are already present in the world, though before we had the receiver we were unable to feel (hear) the sounds even though they were already in the world. Similarly, we understand that “There is no place vacant of Him”; all we need is a receiver to feel it. The receiver is called adhesion and equivalence of form, which is “the will to bestow.” When we acquire this receiver we will immediately be able to feel that indeed “there is no place vacant of him” and that “the whole earth is filled with his glory.”

4. It is said that there are 600,000 souls, and each soul divides into several sparks. We must understand how it is possible for the spiritual to divide, since initially, only one soul was created, the soul of Adam HaRishon.

In my opinion, there is indeed only one soul in the world. … The same soul exists in all the children of Israel, complete in each and every one, as in Adam HaRishon, since the spiritual is indivisible and cannot be cut. …

Yet, saying that there are 600,000 souls and sparks of souls appears as though it is divided by the force of the body of each person. In other words, first, the body divides and completely denies him of the radiance of the soul, and by the force of the Torah and the Mitzva, the body is cleansed, and to the extent of its cleansing, the common soul shines upon him.

For this reason, two discernments were made in the corporeal body: In the first discernment, one feels one’s soul as a unique organ, and does not understand that this is the whole of Israel. And this is truly a flaw; hence, it causes along with the above-mentioned.

In the second discernment, the true Light of the soul of Israel does not shine on him in all its illumination force, but only partially, by the measure he has purified himself by returning to the collective.

The sign for the body’s complete correction is when one feels that one’s soul exists in the whole of Israel, in each and every one of them, for which he does not feel himself as an individual, for one depends on the other. At that time, he is complete, flawless, and the soul truly shines on him in its fullest power, as it appeared in Adam HaRishon.

5. “If you shall walk in my laws and keep my commandments to do them.” Here the Holy Zohar asks: “Since it already said walk and keep, why also ‘to do’ them.” And it answers: Whoever does the commandments of Torah and walk in His paths; it is as if he made Him above, and the Creator said: It is as if he made Me. And this is the meaning of “And you shall do them” – as if you ‘made’ Me.” And it is important to understand the meaning of ‘whoever walks in the ways of the Lord, he makes the Lord.’ How could such a thought even enter into one’s mind?

Behold, it is known that “the whole earth is filled with His glory.” […] However, the Creator concealed it to make it impossible to see, in order to allow for choice, and this makes room for faith—to believe that the Creator fills the whole world (universe) and surrounds the whole world. And only after one engages in Torah and Mitzvot and keeps the commandment of choice, then the Creator reveals Himself to him, and then one is able to see that the Creator rules the world.

It follows that, then one is able to “make” the King to rule over him, which means that he feels that the Creator is the one that rules over the whole world, and this means that one “makes” the Creator to be King over him. But as long as he does not attain this feeling, the Kingship of the Creator remains in concealment. And this is what we say: “On this day the Creator will be One and His Name One,” meaning that the glory of His Kingdom will be revealed upon us.

And this is the complete correction that we must reach in this world, and by this we draw all the goodness in the world, meaning that all the abundance from above is drawn from our engagement in Torah and Mitzvot, with the intention to draw His blessed Kingdom upon us.

6. We have gathered here to establish a society for all who wish to follow the path and method of Baal HaSulam, the way by which to climb the degrees of man, and not remain as a beast, …

Each of us follows the spirit of bestowing upon the Creator. And to achieve bestowal upon the Creator, we must begin with bestowal upon man, which is called “love of others.”

And love of others can only be with revoking one’s self. Thus, on the one hand, each person should feel lowly, and on the other hand, be proud that the Creator has given us the chance to be in a society where each of us has but a single goal: for Divinity to be among us.

And although we have not yet achieved this goal, we have the desire to achieve it. And this, too, should be appreciated by us, for even though we are at the beginning of the way, we do hope to achieve the exalted goal.

7. It is hopeless to wait for a time when a solution is found for allowing one to begin the work of the Creator in Lishma. As in the past, so in the future—every servant of the Creator must begin the work in Lo Lishma, and from that achieve Lishma.
And the way to achieving this degree is not limited by time, but by its qualifiers, and by the measure of one’s control over one’s heart. Hence, many have fallen, and will fall, in the field of working Lo Lishma. […]Yet, their reward is nevertheless great, since one’s mind cannot appreciate the true merit and value of bringing contentment to one’s Maker. Even if one works not under this condition, since one is not worthy of another way, one still brings contentment to one’s Maker.

The Wisdom Of Kabbalah: Theory And Practice Of Love

Laitman_633_4Question: I have noticed a slight tendency in your lessons and your public appearances. I watched the video of the 2002-2004 courses on the site again, where you teach the wisdom of Kabbalah in a scientific manner, using graphs, drawings, and spiritual terminology and explanations.

The virtual course during the years 2002-2004 is very difficult for beginners because you started using very complex terms right from the first lessons. You actually said that is it okay not to understand and that the main thing is that one listens and the Upper Light that descends on us will reveal everything. In the last couple of years, however, in the course “Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah” during the years 2012-2013, for example, you place greater emphasis on the relationship between people, and the attitude towards the world, on psychology, connection, and unity. But is it possible to draw the Upper Light and discover the spiritual eternity just by improving our relations with the world and with other people?

Answer: You should read a few articles by Baal HaSulam in order to discover that the main issue of the wisdom of Kabbalah is actually cultivating your love towards all the parts of the creation.

But because those who come to study the wisdom of Kabbalah are egoists, just like all the other people, the study doesn’t begin directly with studying about the attainment of love of all the other created beings, but with Baal HaSulam’s article “Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah.” It is only afterward that the explanation about the concrete fulfillment of the wisdom of Kabbalah in revealing the Creator inside a person begins (according to His figure and image, according to the law of equivalence of form).

A People That Determines The State Of Humanity

laitman_942Question: The people of Israel must show that the one thing that makes a person an Adam (Man) is the quality of internal unity with others. Does this mean that everything external—which is called civilization, technology—must lose its value in our eyes?

Answer: There is a complete collection of laws found in the foundation of the existence of our people. They were established by our father, Abraham, 3,500 years ago. If we begin to implement them, everything will be okay, and, if not, then first and foremost, it will be bad for us and after that, for the entire world.

In a world in which eight billion people live, we are that small group that determines the state of all of humanity, and humanity gradually is beginning to understand and feel this subconsciously.

Whether humanity wants it or not, in any case, it will try to solve this problem, and the problem lies in this: that if we behave incorrectly and become the source of their suffering, then we should be destroyed.

What would we do in anyone else’s place if there were something that caused pain in our hearts? We would try to annihilate it!

So, there is nothing unnatural about Hitlers, Arafats, and Ahmadinejads reaching dominance. Without a doubt, they will continue to appear again and again as long as we behave like this!

Question: Does it follow that we must suffer?

Answer: We must suffer because we have not attained unity, and in this way we are causing the entire world to suffer. Moreover, through our behavior, we arouse and summon sufferings on a higher level.

Question: So, in what way does anti-Semitism help us if it doesn’t bring us to real unity?

Answer: It leads us to unity. Under its pressure, without a choice, we begin to become closer. However, this is just a preliminary unity, compulsory for softening the pressure from above, whereas we need to reach such an understanding of the process when we willingly begin to come closer!

This is imperative for us for our own sake because otherwise we are not a people. We need to begin to unite because with this we bring good to the world, inclusive unity. We become a light to the nations.
