Question: When we are talking about the holiday of Passover, why do we say: “Remember the exodus from Egypt?” After all, there were other exiles—from Babylon, Greece, and Rome—but we are reminded only about the exodus from Egypt. What is the meaning of this?
Answer: The Egyptian exile is the root of all the exiles. All the other exiles are as if superimposed on it. This exile is the most difficult and fundamental. A person rises above his egoism and, for the first time, realizes what the spiritual world is and what it means to feel the property of bestowal instead of the property of receiving with which we are born and in which we exist.
We perceive the world through the senses that constantly want to enjoy and benefit from everything. The revolution in the sensory organs—when I begin to “exit myself,” to identify myself with the world, to give to others, to feel myself outside of my body so that my heart stays there—is called the exodus from Egypt. All the other exiles already happen outside of me.

How Is The Feeling Of Exile Born?
Question: What values did the people of Israel have before the descent to Egypt, at the time that they were there, and after the departure from Egypt? Did the people undergo some kind of change or process?
Answer: Yes, they descended into Egypt already with an intention in order to bestow, like the patriarchs.
The entry into Egypt is compulsory in every spiritual level since the person corrects only what is within him. So, first, he feels the problem; his discovery is called being in Egypt or the awakening of Egypt in the person. The exile signifies that all desires and thoughts are egoistic, and he feels this. If you were to tell someone today that he is an egoist and is found in Egypt, no one would understand this.
The inner feeling of Egypt is a feeling that I am in exile. If I am just an egoist, I know it and am even proud of benefiting at the expense of others. This is not called Egypt. Egypt, as exile, represents my wanting to be freed from the property of reception for myself and to rise to the property of bestowal. Yet, I am not able. The feeling of exile is born from a lack of correlation between what is desired and what is.
This is a very high state and very complicated. Feeling yourself in the Egyptian exile is not easy; it is a spiritual degree. If a person wants to attain spirituality, he comes to a group, learns, and connects with friends in order to pass together from hatred to love. They, then, suddenly feel themselves in exile because their egoistic desire dominates over them.

My Comment: All the worlds are arranged by a single scheme HaVaYaH—four stages of development, everything and every part of them. A unified force of absolute bestowal dominates the entire system, manages it, and predetermines everything, including our destiny. We have an opportunity to change ourselves, to keep “up” with its step-by-step development all the time, and thus feel comfortable. Moreover, we can predict the future states in advance, and changing ourselves, we perceive them not as suffering, but as desirable. This is the purpose of the science of Kabbalah.

Question: If I include all 600,000 souls in my quality would ordinary people feel my great power when they interact with me? Will I influence them in certain way?
Answer: 600,000 souls are not parts separated from one another; it is a conventional Kabbalistic name of the level to which we have to rise.
This means that if now I sense the minimal bonding with others then conventionally it is called one. When I begin to climb the spiritual rungs and let’s say I include myself into Zeir Anpin, it means that I include 10 souls within myself; if I become included into ISHSUT – it is 1,000 souls, in Aba ve Ima – 10,000, etc. In addition, this is multiplied by 60 because Zeir Anpin consists of six parts. When I rise to Arich Anpin it turns out that I multiply myself by 600,000. It means that my today’s attainment increases 600,000 times.
However, this is just a convention because we don’t understand what 600,000 means. It is an incredible progression. It is not linear, but rather exponential in the infinite degree.

Question: I sit in the lessons and expect to feel something. But meanwhile I have no clarity about what you teach…
Answer: A person who begins learning requires a few years before he begins to understand anything. But even then he still isn’t moved; he still has no reaction. The words have already entered his brain and even into his heart, already giving something which is an inner reaction, but they still don’t reach the depths of emotion, don’t penetrate by way of the four phases, which typify every desire, still don’t invite a reaction.
After that the next stage comes: the person already wants to react but doesn’t know how. He needs to make a specific clarification of the emotion that from a general abstraction is gradually focused into something more clear and deliberate, like a vector.
After this, the person begins to react more and more to what happens in a group and sees that future events will take place outside of him, within the group. For a group, it is not the faces of the friends, but rather, the field in which the development is realized. And the person looks into it with more and more concentration, acquiring more significance for it and concern for his connection with the society, and after that, strives consciously not to lose this connection in any state.
Now he sees that the group is the collective spirit that dwells among the friends that belongs to all of them. Gradually in their field, he begins to discern all kinds of forces, with different interpretations. This is not merely a homogeneous picture; rather, it has every variety of forms, that is, relationships of forces. It is like seeing the individual spokes in a rapidly revolving bicycle wheel…
Our advancement is like this in which time, patience, and effort play the key role.
Question: If I discern isolated “spikes,” in isolated connections, so what do I need to do with this?
Answer: There exist various forces by which we mutually connect with each other. When I enter into a system, I see how to use them so that they will bring it benefit, I learn our connections, understand and improve them by means of more detailed corrections. And certainly I attribute everything to the Creator.
In the end, this force is something simple, and its action is like a dual-phase switch. But the mutual connections create a very complex picture of reality for us. The matter of our world consists of elementary particles, but look at the universe that is composed of them.
All of the richness and variety are derived from an integration of connections. The simplest elements of Mendeleev’s Periodic Table are integrated in various ways, forming substances with completely different characteristics and with absolutely different behaviors. The possibility of mutual connection of the three components, the proton, neutron and electron, produce infinite forms of complex connections. This is to say that connection is the foundation of everything.

Question: “I, the group, the world.” As long as this picture exists in our imagination, the world endures much, exactly as you said many years ago. But of course, this shouldn’t make us happy. It’s necessary to help people, to support them, especially in our European Convention…
Answer: I agree absolutely. First of all, we are commanded, “And you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” If I must relate to people with love, how can I be happy about their suffering? Certainly, something like this simply cannot be.
And on the other hand, when we look at what’s happening, we need to hurry and dedicate as much power and time as possible to dissemination. I hope that we will speak about this at the convention. For it’s very important for us to bring the understanding to humanity that a very clear, very concrete, simple, and practical method exists. Already today it’s possible to implement it and to see wondrous results in a number of days.
We know how rapidly people are changed within the framework of integral education beginning from the first lecture, from the first workshop. If we can only give them the method, they will open their eyes and see how simple everything is. We are preparing ourselves for this, and we already have a few hundred people in various countries that are ready to be teachers and educators.
One way or another, the world will not work it out without suffering, but these will already be sufferings of love, when together with the force that pushes people from behind, a force also draws them forward. This is our obligation, our mission, to show them the way.
In truth, I already spoke about this state many years ago, and frankly, every day I expect that they will begin to hear us. Otherwise, undoubtedly the suffering will grow more and more. And in spite of all this, I have great hopes. Due to the communications media, due to the reactions of scientists and politicians, I see that the world has changed. They are already beginning to grasp the idea and understand that today we require a breakthrough, a new way.
Question: The better that the understanding of the world is connected to the manner in which the group learns, it unites internally. And in spite of all this our ego demands a payoff in the form of conventions, and in general, endless meetings. Has the time not come for a new level? For in a form like this we cannot continue to gather the entire world. Someone will always remain on the sidelines and will feel himself deprived. Has the time not arrived when every one of us, within himself, and simultaneously in another, will come to the thought that we are one whole, not only through mutual physical activity, but also with inner activity? We need to be together internally.
Answer: The world develops from simple “mechanics,” to electronics, to radio and to television, to computers, to a virtual network, and after this, to a spiritual network. Our mutual connection is coming closer and closer to its spiritual form.
Today the world is making a transition to virtual connection, to conference calls, to telephones and chats. And now we need to go out to such a level of connection so that the whole world will know our coordinates in all segments of the network and will have the possibility of connecting with us, easily and correctly.
We need to be accessible to everyone in this virtual form so that the person can find a group, a society, a new image of humanity, a correct connection between everyone. It’s necessary for everyone to understand how to go inward, how to be included in this collective, how to live in it, how to feel included in a mutual connection. The moment that a person will take a cell phone into his hands or turn on a computer, this virtual atmosphere will then embrace him, will draw him inward and begin to work on him, will attract him more and more towards new stages of development.
And in the end, artificial channels and lines of communication will no longer be required, for we will stretch wires from heart to heart. This will be the coming level, yet we cannot rise to it without preliminary communications through these networks.

It Is Time To Change
As I annul myself, my ego, the old “me” disappears. Instead I acquire the whole system that becomes mine. I don’t drown in the system, as if I cease to exist; instead I acquire everyone!
I begin to feel that everything in the system is my desires, my intentions, my life. I live this system, I kill my desire to receive and so I begin to feel the desire of the system, its mind, the force that operates it.
I can’t be under two authorities at the same time: I can either be under my dominion or under the dominion of the Creator; it is one of the two. So I have to raise my vessels from the worlds of BYA up to the connection with Malchut of Atzilut, up to the Shechina (Divinity).
The worlds of Beria, Yetzira, Assiya (BYA), are the desires of HBD, HGT, NHY that are under Parsa. First we raise our vessels from the world of Beria to Atzilut, then the desires from the world of Yetzira to Atzilut, and then from the world of Assiya to Atzilut. Accordingly, the states of Ibur (gestation), Yenika (suckling) and Mochin (mind) are formed in us.

Everyone acts according to the root of his soul, and the Light that reforms acts on him according to the root of his soul. Therefore, when we look at each other in this world, we don’t understand the motives of our actions; we don’t see which informational genes and which corresponding Lights are transformed in us. We cannot properly judge each other, and therefore we say that it is always necessary to judge your friend favorably.
In relation to himself, the person is given free choice and must strive to construct an environment for himself that will awaken him maximally. He must be dedicated to this environment and submit himself to it and be integrated with it as much as possible, as it is written, “All that you find in your hands to do, in your power, do it.”
But together with this there also exists a general plan of development. We are found in a process like this, where the entire world is beginning to wake up. And therefore, our development depends upon the development of the entire world. This puzzle is awakened more and more, and in it each one needs to fill the place that is designated for him. Therefore, the more that the world advances in general, the further we, “Israel,” the people who seek the Creator, advance. And likewise, through our advancement we awaken the entire world.
Therefore, it is impossible to separate these two components in our present work. Everyone is connected and depends upon each other in a form that is impossible to separate: both the inner work, by means of our informational genes and our personal Light that Reforms, and also the group in the group and the general work on the people of Israel in the land of Israel and on the entire world. The time has arrived when we must awaken everyone. But the more internal the layer is, the more important its awakening is.
The person needs to understand that if he falls all the time and thereby feels his inferiority, this is done for his good, and thus he is shown his true state. It is necessary to be thankful for the bad as well as for the good, for the good and the bad are weighed together. The form in which the good and the bad will be revealed depends only on the Light that Reforms. And it is always necessary to examine ourselves according to our integration in a society: How much are you ready and strive, are concerned to see the entire group, and in general the entire world, as your soul?

The Midrash, “The Book of Jethro”: When Jethro approached the camp of the sons of Israel, he wrote a letter to Moses saying: “Your father-in-law Jethro has come. Please come and meet me. If you don’t come out for my sake, please do it for your wife Zipporah; if not for her, do it for her two sons.” Jethro tied the letter to an arrow and shot it to the Cloud of Glory. The Cloud usually rejected everything, but it let this message through because of Moses.
This passage talks about an internal state of a person. There is no connection between the property of “Jethro” and the property of “Moses.” Moses detached himself from Jethro, and that’s why Jethro says, ”We have a chance to establish a connection between us; if not between you and me, then between you and Zipporah, if not with Zipporah, then with her two sons.” He is looking for a way to make a connection. “Sending an arrow to the Cloud of Glory” means that Moses stays at the next (higher) level and that it’s impossible to reach him.
When in spirituality they say that “somebody sends a message (or an envoy or an intermediary) to another because it’s not possible to directly approach him,” it means that two properties (receiving and bestowal) are incompatible and do not understand each other. Jethro is a property of receiving (egoism), whereas Moses represents a property of bestowal. These two properties are incompatible within one person, so there must be an “adapter” that connects them together. The only thing that the property named “Jethro” is capable of is to raise its desires and “send a message to the Cloud of Glory,” meaning to the property of Moses that he is otherwise incapable of approaching and understanding.
The separation that exists between Moses and Jethro is essential and indispensable. At this point, together they begin creating a connection. It is the time when egoistic properties start manifesting in the people of Israel. The people of Israel exited Egypt without correcting these properties; they simply contracted these qualities without implementing them.
This is the time when these qualities gradually begin to correct; Jethro is a manifestation of the same egoistic properties, but now they have a desire to attain the level of Moses. This level is already “seeded” in Jethro, since Moses spent 40 years together with Jethro (the distance from Malchut to Bina) laying this point in him. This point is “the arrow” that Jethro sends to Moses. Naturally, Moses turns his way and faces him since no man is capable of rejecting it since he realizes how essential it is for him.
Moses tells Jethro everything that happened to him. Jethro starts to feel what he is talking about and blesses the Creator for everything He did to Israel. These two properties within one person start sensing each other and get incorporated into each other. Before anything else, Moses has to do the work at the level of Bina, and then continue using his inferior (lower) qualities (so called “people,”) meaning that spiritual work is always done at the thinnest plane first and only afterwards coarser desires are added to it.
Moses transfers the Torah to Jethro to the degree that the Torah enters egoism and starts working inside it. After Jethro receives the Torah, he in his turn explains to Moses how to work with egoism.
The distance between Malchut and Bina are 40 steps (or 40 years.) Jethro is Malchut that rises to the level of Bina and attaches to it. Moses then includes himself into Jethro and starts working in him, which is Bina that descends to Malchut.
Moses handed the Torah to Jethro in an allegorical form; he partially encompassed the steps that were already covered by Moses and by the people, meaning the qualities that had already been corrected. Then, Jethro tells Moses how to work with egoism meaning Malchut that rises to Bina creates the system that works with egoism. Since the upper level (Bina) has to incorporate egoism in order to figure out how to work with it and create a system of gradual correction of “egoism within egoism.” That’s why Jethro and Moses have to be included into each other instead of staying apart.
After Moses transfers the Torah to Jethro in the form that he needs the most in order to return to his people and correct their inferior desires (Jethro is a transitional step to lower desires that stand for “his people”), Moses receives from Jethro a system that works with egoism. He starts realizing the ways to break it into dozens and hundreds of thousands of pieces and learns how to work with the thickness (Aviut) of desires, meaning with something that is missing from Bina because of its transparency. When Aviut approaches Bina, there appears a necessity to initiate a hierarchical system. This is how the system is built, although it is not quite typical for Israel.
Israel is a property of Bina, a quality of bestowal. However, the people of Israel exited Egypt having absorbed egoism in its entirety. At this point, they began “arranging” egoism and realizing how to work with it step by step. Due to Jethro, the people of Israel acquired a chance to accept the system that addresses egoism.
