What Is Truth?

laitman_527_03Question: What is truth?

Answer: Truth evades us all the time as a result of our great efforts to attain it. As soon as we try to attain it, a greater depth is revealed to us based upon the contradictions that exist in the previous truth. So, we try to find it again.

This truth is the middle line and is found in Ein Sof. The entire movement in our development and yearning is aimed toward attaining what we call truth.

In general, truth is the starting point of all of creation and it is only when we attain this point that we reach the truth. We indeed make tiny steps of discovery on the way toward the truth, but they are not absolute. Even though the absolute truth can be attained, it is still very far from us.

Question: What do you mean when you say that it is necessary to yearn for truth?

Answer: What I mean is a state in which all of humanity is found in absolute adhesion with the upper force, when the Creator is fully attained within the creature.

The Creator is the root, the fundamental principle, and the creature is secondary.

Question: When we are talking about attaining the Creator, do we mean His characteristics?

Answer: When we are talking about the Creator, we mean His characteristic of bestowal and love toward the creature, and about Him with respect to Himself, not the creature, that obviously is also revealed in Ein Sof.

Adhesion with the Creator is resemblance and equivalence of the characteristics of the creature with the Creator. Through this equivalence, attainment of the Creator is realized, attainment of His thoughts in relation to us, attainment of what was before His thought, His decision to create us and even the attainment of the state before this decision, meaning the state in which only He is found within Himself.

If we yearn for this, it is almost certain that we can attain even this in our spiritual development.

laitman_281_02Question: Why do you sometimes mock your students? It seems that your humor unifies us and sharpens our attention.

Answer: That’s the reason I do it.

Question: What does your attitude to your students depend on? Why do some students get special attention?

Answer: There is no such thing! There really isn’t. There are students who draw attention by wanting to ask questions every day and sometimes several times during the lesson. I limit them because I want questions from as wide a range as possible.

Question: How can we understand that the teacher is actually the one you need? After all, there are different teachers and each of them conveys the material differently.

Answer: Search!

Question: As a student, I follow the teacher and I sometimes am short of time. Can the group or the teacher plan the day correctly or should I ask the Creator?

Answer: In this sense it is much simpler for a woman. You can record or download the lesson and listen to it everywhere, and at the same time advance.

Question: Are boredom and invasiveness characteristics that depend on the perception of the listener?

Answer: If boredom and invasiveness do not take on sick forms, we can call them persistence and perseverance, and so these are perfectly normal attributes.

Question: Who was Adam HaRishon’s (First Man) teacher? Who guided him?

Answer: No one, he was the first to whom the upper leadership was revealed. There were other Kabbalists who came after him who also discovered the upper world without a teacher. But they had a special inclination. They made great efforts and received their attainment through books, not through a certain person.

Answers To Your Questions, Part 163

laitman_219_01Question: What is the group if there is none else besides Him? Do the group, the friends, and I exist? If everything comes from the Creator even without the group, what is the point of the group if, in fact, there is no group, no teacher, nothing, and no one? How can I not be confused and mix corporeal and spiritual means?

Answer: The best thing is to study and the Light will clear away the clouds.

Question: I want to come to the group, but the Creator keeps a feeling, a certain fear and insecurity in me, and keeps me solitary. I don’t understand the rationale in His actions. He wants me to correct myself, but doesn’t let me do so?!

Answer: It is so you will make the efforts.

laitman_629_3Question: Most of the time people dream about the future or are immersed in memories of the past. Should we learn to live in the here and now?

Answer: We have to live here and now! We create our future by ourselves and the past has nothing to give us. What we have experienced in the present. In every moment of the present, we need to build ourselves in the group with respect to the Creator, seeking Him within the group!

Question: If we are not responsible for anything, what is the cause and what is the effect?

Answer: We are responsible for our future, for the future of the whole general system. It was given to us so that we will balance it, so that we will bring it to a state of comprehensive balance. This is what the exit to the next dimension comes down to. We have to do it by ourselves. There are forces that help us but only to the extent that we demand this help.

Question: Not everyone becomes a Kabbalist. How can the wisdom of Kabbalah help an ordinary person?

Answer: A person either becomes a Kabbalist or follows a Kabbalist. There is no other way! Humanity will still have to use what it learns from the wisdom of Kabbalah in everyday life.

Question: I agree with the method of studying, but how can I find time to go over such a great amount of information?

Answer: You don’t need to read much. There are a couple of articles about how to work together in a group on the system of mutual cooperation, by doing so you begin to get internal feelings, which lead you to the revelation of the upper system.

Question: Why should we impact the upper system? Doesn’t it manage everything perfectly and in ultimate wisdom?

Answer: Not at all! Is the Creator perfect? I look at our world and think I wouldn’t do things this way. Is there anything worse than this world?

Question: How will I know whether the Creator enjoys or whether I am enjoying?

Answer: This has nothing to do with me. I have to bring others joy, the whole world, and then all this is naturally conveyed to Him.

Question: What should I do if I have a desire, but everything and everyone refuses to advance?

Answer: You will advance! And thus everything will be conveyed to them through you; after all, you are connected to them.

In This Contrived And Illusory World…

Laitman_022Question: The Big Bang and the big black hole that the entire universe revolves around perfectly complement each other and are the embodiment of the law of the conservation of energy. Infinity, gravity, and entropy are in constant balance, and thanks to the flow of energy from one form to another, an infinite number of universes appear.

The cosmic microwave background radiation reminds us of a gene, a Reshimo, which contains all of the information of all of the states of the universes. This history will never end because the energy does not disappear. A series of infinite explosions and compressions will continue to occur, and therefore, will follow the development of the desire from the inanimate level to the level of the speaking.

This makes sense since everything was created in resemblance to spirituality, which is eternal. It turns out that the Creator created the created being, but from a slightly different quality because he contains all of the previous information inside him.

We can consider it to be infinite abundance or infinite darkness, but does that mean that this entire game was created as a goal in itself (to sustain life itself), and when will this end?

Answer: When we ascend above the ego, we ascend above time, motion, and space, and we realize that we have existed in a contrived and illusory world.

Moving To A Spiritual Nature

laitman_214Question: It is very difficult to move to a spiritual nature of bestowal and love of others. Do you believe that the whole world can do this?

Answer: I by no means am a utopian; I am a realist. Only special people with a special predisposition for a spiritual transformation can attain the characteristic of bestowal and love of others. They are called Kabbalists.

There may only be a few dozen of them in the world, no more. But they can lead all of humanity after them because otherwise it will not be possible for us to continue existing on the face of the Earth. The prophecy that everyone will follow “Israel” will come true, meaning that they will follow those who yearn for and aim toward the Creator, the characteristics of bestowal and love.

Therefore, a group of ten Kabbalists on the planet suffices to lead everyone to the goal of creation.

Answers To Your Questions, Part 160

laitman_622_02Question: You have said that effort is a Kli. Can you explain this and elaborate?

Answer: Efforts create desires for something that we didn’t want before: bestowal.

Question: How would you describe a person whose Reshimo (Reminiscence) is only in the left and right lines, without the middle line?

Answer: This is a person who needs balance. This is so for every person on every level.

Question: What is the right way to disclose information to new students in the wisdom of Kabbalah?

Answer: This is with a caring, loving, gentle attitude toward everyone.

The Torah Speaks About Everyone

laitman_624_02_0Question: According to what you say, Jews must save the world, Israel are those who yearn for the Creator, God loves Israel, and so forth. With such expressions about the specialness of the Jews, you sow contempt in the nations of the world. Aren’t you afraid that you will be accused of extremism?

Answer: Every page in the Torah says that the Jews are special. The nations of the world, the Christians, and then the Muslims were not given any source by the Creator other than the Torah, so they rewrote it and taking on the “birthright.”

Everyone’s problem—the Jews, the Christians, and the Moslems—is that no one understands exactly what the Torah says. The Torah appeals to all people of the world and calls for the fulfillment of the main law of the Torah, to “Love your neighbor as yourself,” and nothing but that.

The Torah refers to anyone who fulfills this condition of love of others as a “Jew,” “Yehudi,” from the Hebrew word “Yichud,” unity. A person who does not fulfill this condition is referred to as a Goy, which translates to “the people,” and the Jewish nation is also called Goy in the Torah.

The Torah speaks only about the unity of all of the nations as the Prophets said. Foreseeing the compelling future of humanity and that the Jews must show the way to it, is referred to as being “a Light of nations” of the world.

The problem stems from the misinterpretation of the Torah. The Torah speaks about the people of every nation. This is how Abraham turned to all of the people of ancient Babylon and founded his religion on the rule of “Love your neighbor as yourself,” as Baal HaSulam tells us in his article, “The Essence of Religion and Its Purpose.”

Jews And The Reason For Anti-Semitism

laitman_600_02Question from Facebook: Do you claim that anti-Semitism is a result of the actions of the Jews themselves?

Answer: Certainly, how could this not be so? The Jews awaken pressure from the anti-Semites. Whether there will be anti-Semitism in the world, whether there will be good or evil, war or suffering, in the world depends on the Jews.

In The Book of Zohar, written 2,000 years ago and considered to be the source of the wisdom of Kabbalah, it is written that, unfortunately or fortunately, everything that happens in the world takes place because of the Jews because they are the link that connects all of humanity with the upper force of nature.

So when they are directed and keep this connection correctly, it is good for the world. And if they don’t, it is bad for the world. Everything depends only on the Jews.

The Jews are a group of people who broke away from all the rest of humanity in ancient Babylon, and accepted the method of spiritual development, a connection with the higher power of the world, with what is called the Creator.

In a later stage, 2,000 years ago, this group fell from its spiritual level, and since then, they don’t even know what existed. And still, they felt as if they were a unique group in humanity, the Jews always bothered everyone somehow. This is because they don’t know what their purpose is, what they must carry out with regard to the world. The wisdom of Kabbalah speaks about it.

So we Jews oppose it, but we cannot escape from it. There is a mission we must carry out, we need to lead all of humanity after us, to connect it with the upper force of nature, and then the gracious management will descend into our world. In contrast, today all of us are running around like a dog chasing its tail and are unsuccessful in holding onto success.

Let’s take ourselves by the hand and carry out our mission, becoming a “light unto the nations” (Isaiah 49:6), and this will be good for everyone. Everyone will respect and love us, which is how we will bring happiness and knowledge of the higher conduct, of the Creator, to the world. In the Torah it is written that this is our destiny.

I did not invent this; all the accusations against me are meaningless. I simply explain where this is written. Each one can check for himself. Why shut your eyes and wait for the next blow of fate?

Let’s do this so that it will be good for everyone. It depends only on us.

What Is The Fear Of God?

laitman_237Question: If you receive a thought about the upper force (at any moment in your life when you experiencing some events and trials), it is only thanks to the efforts that you make in order to get at least a bit closer to the Creator.

The measure of whether you are on the right path is always the emergence of a thought from above that comes from the Creator. Is this faith, which we need so much, in order to advance correctly in spirituality?

Is the fear that perhaps you will not receive this thought because you don’t make enough efforts or that you somehow will succumb to something that will alienate you from the Creator, the fear of God?

Answer: The fear of God is not fear. It is actually a yearning not to miss any opportunity to bestow unto Him everything that you can. It is somewhat like the yearning of a mother who keeps looking for how she can do something for her baby.
