Blitz Of Kabbalah Tips – 11/20/16, Part 1

laitman_570Question: Could it be that the feeling of spiritual pleasure is revealed to a person even before he enters the upper world, as he just begins the spiritual path?

Answer: I cannot say who and how, but a person is given a feeling of spiritual pleasure for a short while. He feels it as something that develops around him in the space that surrounds him. This is called the illumination of the Creator, (the illumination of the Shechina).

Question: What are the major milestones on the way to spiritual attainment?

Answer: Milestones to spiritual attainment are the study material, the incorporation in the group, a long period of preparation, then a period of Lo Lishma (not for Her Name), and then a period of Lishma (for Her Name).

Question: Why are we given spiritual pleasure? How can we taste spiritual pleasure and use it?

Answer: The taste of spiritual pleasure is given to a person who can use it with the intention of in order to bestow.

Question: How can we understand the expression of keeping all the goodness inside me and not losing it?

Answer: You can keep all the goodness inside you when you don’t think about it but about others and how to connect with them and convey the upper Light to them through you.

Question: How can we measure spiritual attainment and not distort it with our egoism?

Answer: Spiritual attainment is measured by the magnitude of the egoism above which it is attained, and it is impossible to distort it because if it is spiritual attainment, it is accurately dressed in the attribute of love and bestowal, which the person has developed.

laitman_249-01Question: Is it possible to gather a group? Where is it possible to find the “right” friends?

Answer: You don’t need to do anything in particular. People are chosen in a completely random manner. But please note: everything that you do comes from above. A person has no independent action.

Question: Is it possible to examine how we connect into a group of ten?

Answer: No, before the Creator is revealed between you, there is no connection, so there is nothing to measure.

Question: There are times when there is no eagerness to watch the lessons, they are only for communication and connection. Is this normal?

Answer: Very good! This is not terrible. Connect, do a workshop.

Question: We have 11 people in the group. Is it preferable that men and women do workshops separately or together?

Answer: It is necessary to do them separately, without any connection to the number of people.

Men and women should not be together, except during meals, and even this depends on the type of meal. If this is a family meal, then it is possible, but if this is a meal with Kabbalistic content, then it should also be done separately. The men should not feel the presence of women.

Question: What can the feeling of attainment be compared with?

Answer: It is possible to compare it to being freed from all internal and external limitations, when you feel that everything is managed by the collective power of the Light, which is called the Creator, and you just swim in it. After that, this feeling disappears. Nothing is left until the full completion of correction.

Question: Could it be that in the future I will have several groups of ten: a group of ten in the lessons, a group of ten at work, a group of ten in the family?

Answer: Certainly, there is no problem with that. But it is first necessary to begin with ten people with whom you have a common goal, and then you go on.

laitman_281_02Question: Why are we so different if we are parts of one soul?

Answer: Even in the human body, each organ works differently: at its own pace, with its own dynamics. Even though in the spiritual world all of us are one single soul, each one of us belongs to a different organ, and therefore, we are different. Wholeness is achieved specifically through the mutual connection between us.

Question: Does desire precede thought or are they not connected?

Answer: Desire is the main thing and it is constantly working within us. It must be replaced, directed, and corrected. So the only thing we can do is provide it with the right direction.

Question: You say that our soul is consciousness. Is it possible to say that this is the same as perception?

Answer: No, perception is the consequence of the correct structure of the soul.

Question: Can there be one soul for two people?

Answer: We have one soul for all.

Question: Do you believe that the theory of quantum physics is approaching the correct understanding of the soul, the structure of the spiritual part of the world?

Answer: It will never work, because what we can comprehend in our physical minds is not at all compatible with what exists in the spiritual space.

Question: Can the human body leave this world without acquiring the soul?

Answer: Certainly, in fact, the whole world is like that.

Question: Which of our characteristics or efforts does the wisdom of Kabbalah attribute to the spiritual baggage of a person who is capable of moving from one incarnation to another?

Answer: If a person has a desire to understand the meaning of life and he is lucky enough to find a teacher, a group, and a correct method for realizing this yearning, he is fortunate.

Question: How many years of study did you spend to reach your soul?

Answer: I don’t even remember, but at some point it turns out. This is different with each person.

Question: Can studying the wisdom of Kabbalah improve personal characteristics; is it possible to become a more sincere, respectable, kind, wise person?

Answer: Yes, but only on condition that it is useful for attaining the spiritual goal. Therefore, in our world it is not necessary that this be manifested in a form that is understood by everyone else.

Question: If the soul is divided into 600,000 parts, does everyone have his own part, just as the body has a head, arms, etc.? Or are all the parts identical?

Answer: No. In spirituality everything exists as an integral system. 600,000 parts is a conditional concept. We simply need to reach a level that is called 600,000 because this is the level of Arich Anpin in the head of the world of Atzilut. Zeir Anpin (60), attains the level of 10,000 and therefore it is called 600,000 (60 X 10,000), or Zeir Anpin rises to Arich Anpin of the world of Atzilut. These are not even parts but an intensity that we must achieve.

Question: I don’t understand, does a person recreate his soul or build a new one? Does the Creator allow such arbitrariness?

Answer: A person recreates something that was broken. But when he creates the soul from the broken parts, he begins to comprehend how this comes out, what this consists of, and what are its internal laws and properties. And this is already his possession.

What Is Prayer?

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion from Facebook: What is prayer?

Answer: Prayer is an appeal to the upper force of nature to correct one’s egoistic inclination.

This is the only thing that the upper force accepts as the right request, a desire, a sense of deficiency, that attracts a positive force, correcting this deficiency.

Question: And what about the millennia of prayers humanity raised in the course of history?

Answer: They cannot be considered prayers because only a request to correct one’s egoism and to replace it with universal love for everyone is called a prayer.

If you do not ask for this, you don’t appeal to anyone. The upper force responds only to this request because the property of love and bestowal is all that it contains. Whoever asks this force for the property of love and bestowal gets it to the extent that they have a true desire. Whoever doesn’t ask, doesn’t receive it. You can cry as much as you want about everything else, it’s “a voice crying out in the desert.”

Question: Then what is the purpose of the purposefully composed prayer books that people recite prayers from?

Answer: By reading these prayers, a person raises his desire not toward correction, but toward all sorts of personal benefits: money, health, and so on. None of this works.

Question: What should I ask for in order for it to be a true prayer?

Answer: You should ask only for a supra-egoistic property: bestowal and love of others. Everything else is a waste of time.

What Does The Wisdom Of Kabbalah Say About Goyim?

Laitman_507_05Question from Facebook: What does the wisdom of Kabbalah say about Goyim?

Answer: In the wisdom of Kabbalah, a person is considered a Jew not according to nationality, but according to the yearning to truly attain the Creator, meaning according to the degree of equivalence with the characteristics of the Creator, which means according to the acquisition of the characteristic of bestowal. If he doesn’t have an inner movement like this, he is called a “Goy,” meaning a nation.

Those inhabitants of ancient Babylon who felt a yearning like this and gathered around Abraham, who taught them about union and attaining the Creator through union, began to be called “Goy Kadosh (holy nation),” meaning a holy people. Holy means people who operate according to bestowal and love between them to attain the Creator.

Therefore, in the word “Goy,” there is nothing bad or pejorative; it simply means a people. And Goy Kadosh are special people who are naturally attracted to attaining the Creator. That is what the wisdom of Kabbalah says.

Religion doesn’t affect us at all, it is a departure from the wisdom of Kabbalah into the physical world, a kind of additional accompaniment to our world.

Why Are You Scaring Us?

laitman_547_05Question from Facebook: Why do you keep scaring us in your posts all the time? You keep saying that humanity is like a little rabbit hiding and shaking under a bush.

Answer: Of course! This is what I see people behaving like! On the one hand, they try to harm each other, and on the other, they are afraid to be treated in the same manner. This is how our whole life is managed.

If we don’t change, of course it will be bad!

I “frighten” people in order to warn them in advance of the sufferings, so they could avoid suffering. It is just as we say to a child: “You shouldn’t do that, you will fall, you will get hurt, and it will be painful.”

My intentions are very good, but what can I do if people think that I am just saying that? It is just like parents who want to protect a child from trouble, but cannot avoid what will happen! I will try to be gentler.

The Development Of Egoism

laitman_566_02Question from Facebook: You claim that the development of society is the development of egoism in it. Why isn’t it the development of altruism? Could it be that we should begin to promote cooperation between us instead of promoting competition?

Answer: I see how the world has been evolving for ages and that it is only as a result of egoism. Moreover, all scientists and researchers confirm it. The wisdom of Kabbalah says the same thing.

We should not develop through egoism, that is, not in the desire to receive everything inside you and thinking only of yourself at any given moment: “What should I do so that I will feel good?” But we should change our paradigm, that is, we should think of: “What I should do so that others will feel good?” This is a significant shift, an internal revolution in a person, which he cannot do by himself.

Question: How can I change myself if our nature is pure egoism?

Answer: This is an internal paradox; we cannot exit the framework of our nature. We can fix it but only with the help of the upper force, the Creator.

If the Creator illuminates His force on us and influences us like a magnet moving a piece of metal from a distance, we will be able to change ourselves and move in the opposite direction from our egoism.

In order to do so, we need to convince the Creator to move us forward to a totally different attribute: from the property of receiving to the attribute of bestowal, not the attribute of egoism but the attribute of altruism, not the attribute of hatred but the attribute of love.

Let’s try to do it. This is what the wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us!

Answers To Your Questions, Part 166

Laitman_633_3Question: You have mentioned that the Creator does not exist and there is no one to bring pleasure to. I also heard from you that the Creator suffers more than we do; where does that fact come from? How does it turn out that He doesn’t suffer or that He suffers and doesn’t exist at the same time?

Personally I would like the Creator to exist in my life, because if He does not exist and is not alive, the whole wisdom of Kabbalah would seem uninteresting and practically empty just like our beastly life.

If there is no one except me, I would rather live in this illusion without reaching some upper world. Although I am only 24 and have found the wisdom of Kabbalah at the age of 18, I would like to focus myself on the Creator as on someone who exists and is alive and who feels me, because the other attainments don’t interest me.

I am actually afraid to discover that the Creator does not exist. Does that mean that the wisdom of Kabbalah is not for me? At the moment, I don’t intend to study because there is no guarantee that the Creator actually exists and is alive, but if I heard that the Creator is alive and does exist from you (which is the most important thing for me), then I would study the wisdom of Kabbalah.

Answer: Everything we say about the Creator is not His actual essence and does not say anything about Him, but only about what we can express in our sensations. Later, your feelings will change and you will be able to perceive the complexity of the world, and opposing views will not nullify each other, but will actually begin to complement each other. Then you will have no more questions.

Who Wrote The Book Of Zohar?

Laitman_132Question from Facebook: Who was the author of The Book of Zohar, Rabbi Shimon or a group of authors, his ten companions? I don’t understand how it would be possible to write together.

Answer: Rabbi Shimon could not have written this book alone because he had to first transmit this book through his students.

First, they all discussed it among themselves, each one expressing his admiration for it and his impressions. They didn’t complement each other; instead they integrated and collected them into one single opinion by rising above themselves. As a result of this, the highest attainment came out, The Book of Zohar.

By uniting among themselves, they were elevated to the next level where they apparently became a single author, a single person.

Question: But in the sources it is said that Rabbi Shimon spoke and Rabbi Aba recorded…?

Answer: It is necessary to understand what is meant by “recorded.” This is not talking about physical recording. Instead, they attained a state in which the white Light was written on a black background, meaning inside of them.

This was a collective effort of a generalized person that included all of them, when all of them were one. Therefore, a power is hidden in The Book of Zohar. Moreover, specifically because of this fact, it is necessary to read it together and not alone.

If we read The Book of Zohar individually, there is no benefit to it. To do this, we must gather ten people (a Minyan), connect into a single whole, and by reading the text together, to a particular degree, everyone begins to feel what the authors of The Book of Zohar felt.

Question: Do you penetrate The Book of Zohar or does The Book of Zohar penetrate you?

Answer: The Book of Zohar is the Light that surrounds us. Therefore, to the same degree that the readers connect together, they make it possible for the Light to enter into the shared integration between them and to format it. The feeling from the book comes from this.

This is also said about the Torah, that it is “white letters written on a black background,” meaning, that it is the Light, which is written on the desires.

What Are The Sefirot?

laitman_608_02Question from Facebook: What are the Sefirot?

Answer: A Sefira is something that shines . It is all very simple. Our ego, wanting to swallow everything into it, is an absolute black body that cannot illuminate. But, if it closes itself and begins to work in the opposite direction, with the intention in order to bestow, it begins to reflect the light and everything that comes to it.

A black body, for example, which swallows the light, doesn’t reflect the rays of light, so we cannot see the body itself either. But if it shines and doesn’t swallow the rays of light, but rather reflects them, everyone can see it.

A Sefira is the corrected ego to a certain degree, in a certain way. Therefore , it shines and is called Sefirot (which comes from the Hebrew word “sapphire”)—luminous.

We are arranged such that there are ten parts in us, and we have to make them shine to the fullest. This state is called “a person’s complete end of correction”; it is when he becomes a man of the Light.

Question: Is that what is meant in the Torah when it says that Moses shined?

Answer: Yes. Rays of light came from his head. But unfortunately, in translation it sounds like “horns” because “ray” and “horn” are two meanings of the same word.
