People Fall In Love And Connect On A Genetic Level

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from Nature International Weekly Journal of Science): “Social scientists reveal genetic patterns in social networks. Researchers have found genetic patterns in groups of friends, but not everyone is convinced. Groups of friends show patterns of genetic similarity, according to a study published today in The Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

“The findings are based on patterns of variation in two out of six genes sampled among friends and strangers. But the claim is a hard sell for some geneticists, who say that the researchers have not analysed enough genes to rule out alternative explanations. …

“’When people choose friends with similar genotypes, an individual’s fitness — or survival until reproduction — not only reflects their own genes but also the genes of the friends they’ve chosen,’ says Nicholas Christakis, a social scientist at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and an author on the study. In other words, there might be an evolutionary benefit to having friends with compatible genes, even if you don’t have any offspring with them. For example, if people who are naturally less susceptible to bacterial infection hang around together, their collective health as a group multiplies because the bacteria have no vulnerable hosts.”

My Comment: Of course, everything is commanded by nature, and all the “human” in us is no more than its programs that govern us “from above,” such as GPS that would drive cars without a driver. The entire egoism; i.e., all matter of our world is completely controlled by nature or the Creator.

Only if a person wants to accelerate his spiritual development, that is, go against his egoism, in unity of the group, his actions in this are independent. Therefore, he is responsible only for them—how well he used the opportunity of his independent spiritual (anti-egoistic) development.

How Should We Arrange The Planet?

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Bill Gates, chairman of Microsoft): “To the global elite the math is simple: human overpopulation is causing climate change so the solution to climate change is population control. …

“What would it take to accelerate fertility decline in the least developed countries?”

“The world today has 6.8 billion people. That’s heading up to about nine billion. Now if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services, we could lower that by perhaps 10 or 15 percent.”

Opinion (John P. Holdren, Barack Obama’s top science advisor): “‘A program of sterilizing women after their second or third child, despite the relatively greater difficulty of the operation than vasectomy, might be easier to implement than trying to sterilize men.’

“‘The development of a long-term sterilizing capsule that could be implanted under the skin and removed when pregnancy is desired opens additional possibilities for coercive fertility control. The capsule could be implanted at puberty and might be removable, with official permission, for a limited number of births.’”

My Comment: Our planet can feed many times more than its current population. If people feel like relatives, they will not feel that there so many of them, if they are loved, there aren’t unnecessary members in the family, and nature, the Creator, will provide us with everything we need subject to the law of equivalence of form.

The problem is not in reducing the population by force, but in educating and upbringing the population. By becoming similar to the system of higher management, we will consume and reproduce correctly naturally, due to our adhesion to nature, the Creator.

The Social Sciences Are Behind The Natural Sciences

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Nicholas A. Christakis, physician and sociologist at Yale University, co-director of the Yale Institute for Network Science): “The natural sciences are evolving with the times. The perfection of cloning techniques gave rise to stem-cell biology; advances in computer science contributed to systems biology.

“In contrast, the social sciences have stagnated. They offer essentially the same set of academic departments and disciplines that they have for nearly 100 years: sociology, economics, anthropology, psychology and political science. This is not only boring but also counterproductive, constraining engagement with the scientific cutting edge and stifling the creation of new and useful knowledge. Such inertia reflects an unnecessary insecurity and conservatism, and helps explain why the social sciences don’t enjoy the same prestige as the natural sciences.

“One reason citizens, politicians and university donors sometimes lack confidence in the social sciences is that social scientists too often miss the chance to declare victory and move on to new frontiers. … So social scientists should devote a small palace guard to settled subjects and redeploy most of their forces to new fields like social neuroscience, behavioral economics, evolutionary psychology and social epigenetics, most of which, not coincidentally, lie at the intersection of the natural and social sciences. Behavioral economics, for example, has used psychology to radically reshape classical economics.

“New social science departments could also help to better train students by engaging in new types of pedagogy. For example, in the natural sciences, even college freshmen do laboratory experiments. Why is this rare in the social sciences? When students learn about social phenomena, why don’t they go to the lab to examine them — how markets reach equilibrium, how people cooperate, how social ties are formed? Newly invented tools make this feasible. It is now possible to use the Internet to enlist thousands of people to participate in randomized experiments.”

My Comment: Further development of the social sciences is related to changes in society, to society acquiring a new property of bestowal and love. Scientists, who study social processes, do not have this property yet, and therefore, they cannot examine them.

First, they need to acquire new properties themselves and then study how they will be born and manifest in society. So, precisely the scientists have to learn themselves, then explore the manifestation of these forces in our world and explain them to wide circles of society, up to the point of creating new disciplines.

Earth As A Stable System

Earth As A Stable SystemIn the News (from the University of Southampton): “Researchers at the University of Southampton have proposed an answer to the long-running debate as to how stable the Earth system is.

“The Earth, with its core-driven magnetic field, oceans of liquid water, dynamic climate and abundant life is arguably the most complex system in the known Universe. Life arose on Earth over three and a half billion years ago and it would appear that despite planetary scale calamities such as the impacts of massive meteorites, runaway climate change and increases in brightness of the Sun, it has continued to grow, reproduce and evolve ever since.

“Forty years ago, James Lovelock formulated his Gaia Hypothesis in which life controls aspects of the planet and in doing so maintains conditions that are suitable for widespread life despite shocks and perturbations. This hypothesis was and remains controversial in part because there is no understood mechanism by which such a planetary self-stabilising system could emerge.”

My Comment: Kabbalah studies the system of the universe, both in general and in the particular form. The laws of nature that Kabbalah reveals are immutable in all the worlds, which are the levels of the ratio between matter (desire, the property of reception) and energy (the Light, the property of bestowal).

Everything is stabilized primarily by the initial and final states of the system (the plan of creation). The system is static. The progress of the transition from the initial to the final state is only relative to the object that attains it: the human being.

Young Americans Are Returning To Their Parents

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from CNNMoney): “The U.S. has more than 2 million missing households, thanks largely to 18 to 34-year-olds stuck living with the parentals.

“The share of 18 to 34-year-olds living with their parents rose from about 27.6% before the Great Recession in 2007 to above 31%, where it remains today, according to an analysis by Trulia, a real-estate website. Millennials have contributed to the sharp decline in household formation, which likely will take a while to return to normal.

“Until recently, hedge funds and private equity firms drove the U.S. housing market’s recovery, buying a shrinking pool of foreclosed and distressed homes to rent. It seemed like a lucrative investment, given that rents were rising while homeownership fell to record lows.

“But as big investors turn into landlords, it’s worth asking if any considered how long it could take before junior finally gets a place of his own.

“Rents for single-family homes have now risen slower than property prices. This comes as investors flood the market with homes for lease, but it also comes as fewer young adults — generally a key market for rentals – create homes of their own.”

My Comment: The crisis will force us to live a rational life in everything. For the meantime, we do not feel it yet, we are still consuming past supplies….

“The Blindness of Modern Economists”

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the news (from Casey Research): “The contrast between mainstream academic economics and “real world economics” has always been stark, but today the disconnect is so enormous that it seems the two have nothing at all in common. If you were to ask Paul Krugman and Doug Casey how to fix what ails our economy, you’d get two diametrically opposed answers. …

“Mainstream economics relies heavily on mathematics, whereas real-world economics shuns it.

“In the hard sciences like physics or chemistry, fields based on immutable natural laws, focusing on math produces the best results. Economics, on the other hand, is a social science and attempts to explain human behavior—arguably the most fickle of actions, and no more mathematically quantifiable than the exact degree of mortification when throwing up on the dress of your 12th-grade crush at a high school reunion. Which, of course, has never happened to anyone we know.

“In the hallowed halls of academia, you need not be correct to be useful. In the world of business, if you’re wrong more often than you’re right, you won’t stay in business for long. In contrast, academic economists can and have made very successful careers out of being apologists for the regime. No matter that they’ve been dead wrong in virtually every forecast they’ve ever made: as long as their forecasts align with their peers’, they can collectively claim, for example, that no one could have ever seen the financial crisis coming. …

“My guess is that academics are bitter about this fact, and believe that because the free market doesn’t adequately reward them, there must be something wrong with it. They correctly understand that oftentimes, the only way for them to obtain a lot of money is to steal it via the government; and because that principle applies to their line of work, it must apply to all others too. …

“Mainstream economists believe that aggregate demand—the total demand for goods and services in the economy at a given time and price level—is the wellspring from which all prosperity emerges, and so anything that increases aggregate demand must be positive, even otherwise wasteful government spending. Economists also use these as an excuse to make laughably rosy forecasts.”

My Comment: There is the elite above economists who dictates to them what to do. It could be said as was once said by the Soviet elite about cybernetics: “Economics is the whore of imperialism.”

People Who Volunteer Live Longer

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from the University of Exeter): ”Volunteering may be good for your health, reveals a large systematic review and meta-analysis led by the University of Exeter Medical School.

“Volunteering can improve mental health and help you live longer, finds the study which is published in the open access journal BMC Public Health. The research pools and compares data from multiple experimental trials and longitudinal cohort studies. …

“The systematic review was led by Dr Suzanne Richards at the University of Exeter Medical School, and was supported by the National Institute for Health Research Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care in the South West Peninsula (NIHR PenCLAHRC).

“Worldwide, the prevalence of adult volunteering varies with estimates of 22.5 per cent in Europe, 36 per cent in Australia and 27 per cent in the USA. Volunteers commonly cite altruistic motives for their habit – ‘giving something back’ to their community, or supporting an organisation or charity that has supported them. Volunteering can also be used to gain work experience or to widen social circles, but its effects may go far deeper.

“Previous reviews have highlighted supposed health benefits, including increased longevity, improved quality of life, reductions in stress and hospitalisation, but these tend to be based on narrative, rather than comparative evidence. Richards and colleagues pool data from 40 papers which reported data from 9 experimental trials and 16 cohort studies to arrive at their conclusions.

“The causal mechanisms underlying the potential health benefits of volunteering are unclear.”

My Comment: The real reason is that the Surrounding Light (Ohr Makif) affects them because the basis of voluntary assistance is ascent above egoism and longing for some unity. Though these impulses are selfish, they still are above usual motivations and thus cause a bit of influence of the Surrounding Light. When a person can really go against his egoism in the desire to bestow (the vessel of the soul), the same Ohr Makif will become for him Ohr Pnimi – the Inner Light of his soul.

“Forced Mass Drugging of US Troops an Underreported Scandal”

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News ( from the Alex’s Jones InforWars.com): “The mass drugging of US troops is one of the most underreported scandals of the modern era, with soldiers not only being used as guinea pigs in a brave new world of pharmacological experimentation, but also having their rights stripped as a result. …

“As Mike Adams documents, the Defense Department notes that ‘20 percent of U.S. troops are on psychiatric drugs, and that they are often handed as much as a 180-day supply of those pills before being deployed.’

“‘U.S. troops are being forced to take drugs like Prozac and Seroquel for anxiety and depression. Troops cannot refuse to take the drugs without consequences from their superiors. …

“The mass drugging of US troops is another aspect of government social engineering. It is about creating yet another huge sector of society – just like children in school or foster care – whose dependence on the state is secured via the method of artificially creating a dangerous dependence on drugs.”

My Comment: That’s how, from different sides, drugs are gradually introduced into our life; their consumption becomes habitual. After all, it helps calm and even reduce the population …

The Maddening Of America

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from the Economist’s Club): “(…) America’s ever-increasing rates of severe mental disease (which have already been very high for a long time). The claim that the spread of severe mental illness has reached “epidemic” proportions has been heard so often that, like any commonplace, it has lost its ability to shock. But the repercussions for international politics of the disabling conditions diagnosed as manic-depressive illnesses (including major unipolar depression) and schizophrenia could not be more serious.

“It has proved to be impossible to distinguish, either biologically or symptomatically, between different varieties of these conditions, which thus constitute a continuum – most likely of complexity, rather than severity. Indeed, the most common of these illnesses, unipolar depression, is the least complex in terms of its symptoms, but also the most lethal: 20% of depressed patients are estimated to commit suicide. …

“A massive statistical study, conducted from 2001 to 2003 by the US National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), estimated the lifetime prevalence of major depression among American adults (ages 18-54) at more than 16%. Lifetime prevalence for schizophrenia was estimated at 1.7%. There is no known cure for these chronic diseases; after onset (often before the age of 18), they are likely to last until the end of the patient’s life. …

“All of this suggests that as many as 20% of American adults may be severely mentally ill. In view of disputes over the significance of available data, let’s assume that only 10% of American adults are severely mentally ill. …

“Comparative epidemiologists have repeatedly noticed something remarkable about these illnesses: only Western countries (or, more precisely, societies with monotheistic traditions) – particularly prosperous Western countries – are subject to prevalence rates of this magnitude. Southeast Asian countries appear to be especially immune to the bane of severe mental illness; in other regions, poverty, or lack of development, seems to offer a protective barrier.”

My Comment: This is not just the Western way of life, but the indication of the ultimate form of egoism, which forces us to correct it as “help against it.” The very same egoism exposes itself to show us exactly that the problem is in it. And it also reveals the method of its correction: “Methodology of Integral Education and Upbringing” or the “Methodology of Integral Development.”

“US To Cut Back Minimum Sentences For Some Drug Offences”

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from BBC News): “The Obama administration has unveiled major changes to the criminal justice system, dropping mandatory minimum sentences in certain drug cases. Such terms will not be imposed for non-violent drug offenders with no gang or cartel ties, Attorney General Eric Holder said in a speech. …

“’The attorney general’s remarks represent a good first step toward scaling back the failed ‘war on drugs’,” Tom Engell, chairman of Marijuana Majority, said.”

My Comment: In fact, we cannot accept drugs if we want to reach the goal of creation, the revelation of the Creator. Drugs are enemies of building a better society, creating a family, raising children. In this case, we need intelligence, strength, initiative, all which are lost in an addict..

But if the government’s objective is to reduce the population so that it does not reproduce, does not live long, and is passive during its short life, then drugs are good and should be distributed. And to prevent such inhuman thoughts about the government, it is necessary at the same time to carry out a campaign against smoking …
