Predisposition to Universal Unity

437Question: Do Jews have a genetic predisposition?

Answer: No. They have only a predisposition to universal unity in order to conquer the upper world. They left ancient Babylon on this basis.

This predisposition exists in their descendants, who are just souls, and the same soul goes through many, many bodies. This is the incarnation of the souls. For example as a Jew, I existed in all states, from ancient Babylon to my current incarnation. I went through all these lives.

I even know my incarnations: Spanish, German, and Eastern European, right up to the present moment. All this I feel perfectly and reveal. The same applies to all current genetic Jews.

Furthermore, even after their settlement from Babylon throughout the earth, desire was still developing also in the nations of the world. Today there are many such people who also have a predisposition to spiritual development, and they join us. They are absolutely identical to those of us who came from ancient Babylon, even though they have not been near us during the whole 3,700 years. It does not matter. The inner desire for correction and for elevation to the spiritual world acts in them.

An Eternally Living Soul

294.3Question: You said that the Jews have a method of correcting egoism and that the whole matter of nature and all other nations is solid egoism. So, the reason for hatred of Jews is that this matter is the opposite of the spiritual degree?

Answer: We are all the opposite of the spiritual degree.

But within the whole of humanity there is a method of how to correct this oppositeness, how to implement it so that it helps us to rise to the next, spiritual degree. Our egoism will serve us as a rising energy.

We can properly direct it to love instead of hatred. When we discover why and for what it all exists, then all our negative properties, qualities, all kinds of movements, and desires will serve as a springboard to rise to the next degree, to the next dimension.

We can now reveal this for ourselves and thus enter a state in addition to our world, when behind it we will feel another degree, another world around us, the upper one, and we will exist in both.

And then we will understand where we come from, where we are born, where we go after death. Let’s understand that only bodies live and die, and we, our inner, spiritual part of the body continues to live.

If we reveal the full scope of the universe, then our body ceases to be felt as the only possibility of existence. We begin to feel like we exist in everything. The body dies or lives, it no longer matters to us. This is what Kabbalah leads to. That’s what it allows us.

Kabbalah is being revealed now, as humanity begins to realize that it is integrally, globally interconnected. Therefore, we have the opportunity to reach the next degree through globalization, through the connection of everyone with everyone.

Shavuot: Anything but That

507.05Comment: The holiday of Shavuot is the celebration of the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai. It is also called the Harvest Festival. It turns out that all laws, all morality, all spiritual practices, and all religions start from this point—from Mount Sinai.

My Response: There is an offer from above, a revelation to the world from above of the methodology of its existence and its gradual correction to a level where it enters eternity and perfection.

Question: What was the world told from above?

Answer: The world was told that our world exists at a low, corporeal degree, and we exist in it as the egoistic, most harmful, most insignificant, and worthless ones compared to all other creatures of nature.

However, we have the opportunity to rise to the highest level of all nature, that is, to its upper root, which is in infinity relative to us in height.

And we can do it. Otherwise, our life here on this planet will be continuously interrupted by life and death, life and death for each and every one of us. Between life and death there will also be wars, suffering, hunger, and many, many other problems. Thus, our entire existence will be one continuous suffering.

Question: What was said? How do we move toward this good state that you spoke about?

Answer: It is very simple. The main law of the Torah is “Love your neighbor as yourself.” That is it! And then, go and do it.

Question: Was it said at this precise moment? Why did we not hear it?

Answer: We did not hear anything. We heard what was said, and immediately kind of asked: “Do you have another Torah?” The answer was: “No, there is no other one. This is the best thing for you even though you do not understand it. Therefore, take it and do it.”

Comment: So it turns out that we have been avoiding this simple law for millennia.

My Response: Yes. Anything but that!

Question: Is this what symbolizes the holiday of Shavuot: live by this law and everything will be fine?

Answer: Yes. But Shavuot is already a holiday for advanced people. These are people who were inside their egoism, felt its harmfulness, malignancy, and inevitability. They realized that the only way to get rid of it was to just run away from it—just run away! When they were running away, they were ready for anything, even death just not to stay inside egoism!

This is why they jumped into the sea and crossed over it onto dry land. They reached a state where they were ready to receive the laws of the upper world instead of our egoistic natural laws. Basically, “We shall do and we shall hear.”

This was when they received the Torah. What does it mean to receive the Torah? It means I take upon myself the laws of the upper world. I want to live not in our corporeal world the way we exist today and even worse and worse, this is what the Torah promises us, but to rise higher to the qualities, to the laws of the upper world. Those laws are simple: love for your neighbor, love for everyone, accepting everyone as part of your body, your soul, your “I.”

Question: They are as relevant now as never before?

My Response: Yes, more and more. Since we are egoists, we perceive everything according to what we feel in our egoistic qualities. Therefore, what can we do? We feel that we are living in a wrong way, but we turn a blind eye to the way to live correctly, and we cannot accept this upper law of love for our neighbor.

Why do you not do it? Are you going to pay something for this? No. Will you suffer from this? No. You do not immediately encounter some kind of opposite rejections, antagonistic relationships—nothing like that! Just go ahead and do it. “I cannot!”

Now if, on the contrary, there was such a game that there is an enemy against you, and you are against him. Here, however, even this enemy is not visible; it is inside you, your egoism, and you cannot do anything. Therefore, it buys us in this way.

Question: What about this serpent within me? How can I conquer it anyway? The time has finally come!

Answer: It is an entire methodology. It says here how to do it.

Basically, it is not me doing it but the upper force. It does everything—but according to my request.

I can only make a request if it is supported by other people around me. I will think about their correction and not about my correction, and this is how we will help each other together. Just connect with a few more friends in the fact that you want to reach such a mutual connection.

Zionism and Kabbalah

937Question: Everyone knows that Zionism is a Jewish national movement that sets the goal of unity and rebirth of the Jewish people in the Land of Israel. Kabbalah is a method of revealing the Creator to the created beings in this world. What is the connection between them?

Answer: They have one goal: to gather the Jewish people on this land so that in connection with each other they reach such spiritual qualities that the Creator is revealed within them. And the Creator will be revealed to all the nations of the world through them.

Comment: Zionism does not have a goal to reveal the Creator, but only to unite the people on the land.

My Response: Zionism is a corporeal condition. Kabbalah is, in a way, the next stage, when everyone will begin to unite with each other no matter under what pretext, and they will feel the result it gives.

In principle, Kabbalists can be called Zionists, like Rav Kook and Baal HaSulam who consciously came here to unite the nation.

We are obligated to try and gather all the people here and unite them so that people feel that they are one nation. The mission of the people of Israel is to reach the revelation of the Creator through their unity so that then this revelation will be manifested through us to all people in the world.

Fostering National Unity

962.6Question: Baal HaSulam writes that fostering national love is the key to the success of the economy, education, and security. How can this be done?

Answer: This is possible only if we attract the upper light, the upper force, because Jews cannot have national unity. After all, this is a gathering of many completely different, opposite groups of humanity.

Question: How can we foster national unity if we have so many different currents?

Answer: We need to raise what we are talking about above these currents. Our attitude to ourselves, to the world, to others should be integral.

The Nation on an Ideological Basis

749.01Question: If we look at the entire development of mankind, did Israel and the Jews develop only under the influence of blows from the nations of the world? Why?

Answer: Because it makes no sense for them to develop individually.

After all, Israel is a group that Abraham created 3,700 years ago in Ancient Babylon to direct them to the Creator, and therefore are called “Israel,”  straight to the Creator, which means straight to the attainment of the upper world. This is in order for the person during this life to reach the degree of the spiritual world and begin to feel his state as eternal, perfect, and infinite.

Abraham recruited disciples from the ancient Babylonians and gathered them together. A group was formed, which then became known as the nation. Therefore, the nations of the world are right when they say that Jews are not a nationality. It is actually not a nationality.

The Foundation of a Nation Is Internal Unity

281.02

These loose ties—language, religion, and history—are important values, and no one denies their national merit. However, they are still completely insufficient to rely on as a basis for the independent sustenance of a nation. In the end, all we have here is a gathering of strangers, descendants of cultures of seventy nations, each building a stage for oneself, one’s spirit, and one’s leanings. There is no elemental thing here that unites us all from within into a single mass.

I know that there is one thing that is common to all of us: the escape from the bitter exile. However, this is only a superficial union, like the sack that holds the nuts together, as was said above. This is why I said that we must establish for ourselves special education through widespread circulation, to instill in each of us a sense of national love, both from one person to another, and from the individuals to the whole, to rediscover the national love that was instilled within us since the time we were on our land as a nation among the nations (Baal HaSulam, The Nation).

Question: Must a person be influenced by some supernatural forces?

Answer: On the contrary, they are the natural forces.

Question: Is it possible to give an example from history when the Jewish people were united?

Answer: No, even at the time of the receiving of the Torah and the existence of the Temples, the Jews still had wars among themselves. When such an example appears, then that will be the correction of the world.

The Third Temple Is Not a Building

292Question: Anya asks: “When will the Third Temple be built? I sincerely believe that then silence will come, and we will understand that it is forbidden to kill each other, hate each other. I so want peace to come. Tell me, your nation built the First and Second Temples; it was a happy time, wasn’t it? Who will build the Third Temple? How will this happen? Is it possible to speed up the construction? And will our world come to peace and happiness then? Do I understand correctly?”

Answer: I do not know what exactly you understand based on what you have written. I understand that if we are going to build the Third Temple, then we now need to recruit Chinese, Taiwanese, or Arabs at our side.

Gather them, collect building materials, hire a huge office that would do the design and everything else. Recruit experts who would think about what it should look like and so on. And start building slowly. Collect money from all over the world.

But, let’s agree on this: The Third Temple will not be a building. It will be built from the hearts of people, from the desires of people who will wish for it to exist. And there will be nothing material, tangible, from vegetative or animate in it, but only human desire.

Question: So we are the builders of the Temple?

Answer: Our desires! Those who wish to unite together and complement each other to such a state that they can assemble a place that will contain the Creator. The Creator does not need stones. The Creator needs desire! Our yearning to unite between each other, which will at the same time become this house, this will be the place for the revelation of the Creator to all mankind.

Question: So the Creator can only enter such a house? In one desire, directed toward unity, toward connection of all. Is this the house built from hearts?

Answer: Yes.

Question: Does it have windows, doors?

Answer: They are desires! Nothing is needed. Only desires, collective desires, united only in the fact that together, in connection, in love for each other, we will achieve such a state which will be equal to the quality of the Creator. And this is called the Third Temple.

Question: Anya says that Jewish people built the First and the Second Temple, and they were destroyed. Who is building the Third Temple?

Answer: All the nations of the world. The whole world.

Question: What will push the whole world to this, to build the Third Temple?

Answer: Humanity will be prompted to build the Third Temple by realizing the necessity of good intentions, thoughts, or, God forbid, from states of bitterness, weakness, war, and great suffering.

Comment: Which seems to be closer, unfortunately.

My Response: No, it should be somewhere at their intersection.

Question: Meaning, maybe something will lead forward and something will loom ahead, and something will push from behind?

Answer: It is like getting out of Egypt. The Egyptians were chasing from behind, and Moses was walking in front and going straight to the Red Sea. Neither one is good, but this is the state that you need to move to.

Question: And so we will move to the construction of the Third Temple?

Answer: Yes.

Question: But it definitely will be built?

Answer: It is inevitable! It is already inevitable; there is nothing that can be done. Proceeding exactly from this end, the beginning of creation and the beginning of everything that exists comes.

Question: So you can say that the Creator looks at humanity from this state and invites us?

Answer: Yes.

What the World Expects from Jews

400Question: How are Jews connected with the development of humanity and with the current period when the question of the meaning of life is particularly acute?

While nature more or less stroked humanity on the head, it forgot about the Jews. Today, when we have nowhere else to run, again all attention is directed at them. Why?

Answer: Because the Jews have the solution to the essence of our life. The key to the answer to the question of where to go next, how to achieve true happiness, boundless, eternal existence, perfection, harmony—in general, everything that we involuntarily strive for from within, what our natural inner development pushes us to—is with them.

Therefore, subconsciously, all people in the world pay attention to them, count them guilty for their problems, and they are right.

United Culture—Mutual Love

509There is no redemption of the body without redemption of the soul. As long as the majority of the people are captive in the foreign cultures of the nations and are incapable of Israel’s religion and culture, the bodies, too, will be captive under the alien forces (Baal HaSulam, “A Speech for the Completion of The Zohar“).

Question: What does in captivity of foreign cultures mean? After all, it is good that everyone came to Israel with their own culture; it enriches the people.

Answer: But we must rise above all cultures into our culture, which is called mutual love, mutual connection. If we rise to this, then we can really move forward to the likeness of the Creator. This is the task of our development.

Question: Do you think that until now the people who live here are each in their own culture?

Answer: Even without any culture, but not in one.
