We know how much suffering people who were involved with the dissemination of the wisdom of Kabbalah went through since the time that the method of the Ari began to be introduced in this world. And this is not because of someone’s evil will but because we exist in a broken system.

And the moment that you begin to go out with your spiritual idea that is directed towards connection between people, you immediately put yourself under fire from all directions.

Someone who was neutral and even supported you also comes out against you. After all, you are arousing anti-egoistic forces and egoism is the nature of the whole world. So we see that there aren’t any people in whom anti-Semitism isn’t hiding, after all, it comes from nature. It is possible to ignite the fire of this hatred in everyone.

Correspondingly, anyone who hears about the wisdom of Kabbalah hates it because he is in the nature of the broken desires. And if he is attracted to the wisdom of Kabbalah, it is only out of curiosity. But in fact, he hates it, and to the degree that he gets closer to it, he hates it more and more, until he abandons it.

There has to be great help from above and work in this world, so that together they will influence a person, and he will cross the potential Machsom (barrier) standing before him, leap above it, and rise to his first spiritual level.

We know how the first Hasidim suffered; they were arrested and put in prison in Russia and in the Ukraine. Against them was the Mitnagdim (the movement against Hasidism). Those religious Jews hated the Hassids who wanted to disseminate the wisdom of Kabbalah so much that they made efforts to imprison them and condemn them to death. The fire of hatred burn in the religious Jews regarding those who tried to open the wisdom of Kabbalah and spoke about connecting people and revealing the hearts that this hatred is felt to this day, even though modern Hassidism is no longer the ideology it once was, and therefore, there is not as much opposition to it.

We know how much Baal HaSulam suffered. When he published the newspaper, The Nation it was immediately shut it down. He planned to write 50 articles continuing with “Matan Torah (The Giving of the Torah),” “The Arvut (Mutual Guarantee),” and “Peace in the World.” But instead of 50 articles, he only published four as he was forced to stop because the newspaper was shut down. He said: “If so, then the generation is not ready for this, and there is nobody to write for!” How many new ideas would we have gotten if he hadn’t stopped?

Even during my life with Rabash I saw how much it was difficult to be involved with studying Kabbalah. Today there are many such groups, and if you sit in your corner and don’t go out, everything is okay, there will not be opposition. But the moment that you go out, you will get blows. Like the Jews who lived in exile in the closed ghettos, the Kabbalists lived among the Jews.

But the time has come when we must come out of hiding not for the sake of some abstract idea, but because the correction in our generation is possible only with the inclusion of masses of people. The connection between them is the only condition necessary for revelation. It follows that if I don’t connect to others, I don’t create the conditions, the means, the basis, the bearer in which the Light can be revealed.

And then all of my studying would be in vain; it would bring no added value that would allow me to realize myself and truly merit the discovery of the Light, the revelation of the Creator, raising myself to the first spiritual level. This is possible only if thousands more will connect with this. Even though the power of each is minimal, together they are strong in quantity that works together with the qualitative force that worked in previous generations.

And so we have received the opportunity to fill the desire that is burning in us. It burns a bit in each one, like a thin candle. But if we connect many candles together, a gigantic blaze is created that is prepared to illuminate with spiritual Light.

We have not passed those stages that bourgeois capitalist regimes have passed in other countries. Generally, the period of our two-thousand year exile affected the nations quite differently.

We always sat in the corner, unable to raise our heads. And because our values were determined by studying the Torah, a “wise disciple” was prized most highly, even if he did not have a penny.

Then, 200 to 300 years ago, a new period began, and there were all sorts of Rothschilds. True, in the beginning, they were few in number, but about 150 years ago, access to European universities was opened to the Jews, and that allowed them to acquire various professions.

In short, we have not gone entirely through the process through which the world has gone, and suddenly we found ourselves in Israel where we live like those in all the capitalist countries of the West. We learn from them, adopt their experience of governance, and build the same formats that were given to them by centuries of development. But we were going the other way.

Moreover, our society is very diverse. It is woven from a patchwork gathered from west and east, from various places, even from Africa. Every sector has its approach, its own culture, its customs, and these differences are rooted in our genes. Children born in families of immigrants from different countries adopt the genetic heritage of their ancestors.

In general, we are talking about the egoistic desire that is growing in a special way from generation to generation. Willy-nilly, I inherited a certain package of qualities from my parents whom I may barely remember.

As a result, today we are faced with, for our people, an unprecedented phenomena that never characterized it. We have created a modern capitalist society, and, at the same time, we look at ourselves through the eyes of our ancestors who once lived in exile. From Morocco and Yemen, Russia and Europe, we have brought here [Israel] very colorful cultural and educational baggage.

After all, there we still “cooked in the juices” of relations between Jews, not like here. There, in any case, we did not forget about our Jewishness, our traditions, and our small community.

Here, all locks are removed; there are no boundaries. Past traditions and norms of behavior are violated. Everything is allowed: lie to others, use them, and so on.

Previously, among the nations of the world, we always helped each other. Was it possible to leave a Jewish child in the lurch? Anyone unfortunate was given family and shelter. However, this is abroad. Here, the old laws do not apply.

So, in Israel, we are going through the same process that took the West hundreds of years to undergo, and it is not surprising that there is a hatred of the rich who do not take us into account in anything. They are ready to plunge us into survival mode if only we allow them to earn more and more. And they can do nothing about this because egoism continues to operate.

It turns out that we are in a period similar to the days preceding the French Revolution. Moreover, the elite simply are unable to behave differently.

As a consequence, the people’s hatred of the rich will grow, but they still will not be able to share what they have amassed. While many are wealthy, the country is poor, so the problem will be exacerbated further.

Question: Why are there so many Jewish holidays?

Answer: Really there aren’t that many. Everything is derived from the fact that every day is new, every month is new, every year is new, and every hour is new for a person! These seemingly astronomical changes are, in fact, internal, spiritual. All matter results from changes among the spiritual forces that influence our world, and so changes appear among the levels of the still, vegetative, animate, and us.

In other words, the reason for all of the changes is the rotation of the Sefirot through which the Light passes. The Light influences and acts on our universe and the result is the matter in our world. So if a person wants to be connected with the entire creation, every moment is of immense value for him. Besides that, he can divide every moment within it into a multitude of moments. This means that the possibility exists for one second to come alive for him! And in this way he expands himself.

The Jewish holidays are characterized by giving us a sensation of uniqueness to every moment in time, in every Sefira that participates in the passage of Light. So every moment is unique, and especially the holidays are the general significance of a period of transition. There are three big holidays that are derived from the spiritual level: Pesach (Passover), Shavuot, and Sukkot, which are called Raglaim (feet), which are when people went to Jerusalem.

Tisha B’Av (9^th of Av) symbolizes the destruction of the Beit HaMikdash (Temple), meaning the revelation of great egoism that is later corrected during all the rest of the holidays. Because of the force of Tisha B’Av, it is placed against all the rest of the holidays, so its intensity is huge.

In contrast to Tisha B’Av, at the other end of this cycle, is the holiday of Purim. Besides this, there are a few other related minor holidays: Chanukah and Lag Ba’Omer.

We indicate the beginning of every month according to the cycle of the rotation of the moon, for our cosmic and spiritual state depends upon two luminaries: the moon and the sun. So the Hebrew calendar is constructed according to the cycles of the rotation of the sun and the moon, between which is the Earth, while the Christian calendar considers only the rotation of the sun and the Muslim calendar considers only the rotation of the moon.

The Jewish New Year is the beginning of human correction because this holiday symbolizes the birth of Adam HaRishon (the First Man), from which we begin our calculation. The birth of Adam is the birth of the human because Adam was the first to discover the Creator and to begin to resemble Him. So the beginning of the year for us is a spiritual holiday.

The goal of the cycle of the holidays is that the most “frightening” of the holidays, which is Tisha B’Av, will become the greatest holiday in the world, when all of the evil will be gathered together and defeated by the good.

Question: I am not Jewish by birth. Will I be able to attain the wisdom of Kabbalah? I presume that I am starting to become Jewish to the extent that the Light comes near me, in the spiritual sense, of course, but this is only a presumption.

Answer: You are right. A Jew is someone who feels that he yearns to transcend this world and reach the upper world (it is called upper since it doesn’t operate according to the property of receiving, according to egoism but according to the attribute of bestowal). The root of “transcend” – “Ever” in Hebrew stems from the same root as the word “Hebrew” – “Ivrit,” a Jew.

The word “Jew” – “Yehudi”  stems from the word “unity” – “Yichud.”  The word “Israel” stems from the words “Yashar-El,” which means aiming straight to the Creator. Everything depends only on what a person yearns for. Jews are not a nation but an ideological group of people. This is the reason that anyone can be a Jew!

All the work until the generation of the Messiah is in self-annulment, although there are differences according to the destiny of each soul. In every generation there are high souls that have special missions.

This continues until we reach the time of the Messiah, which we are in today. The whole world becomes on soul, one family, and so we have to perform actions according to the time we live in.

This doesn’t mean that we have to sit and wait for the Messiah and hope for some miracle from Above. There are no miracles. There is only one miracle: the spark that awakens in a person. Everything else depends on one’s efforts and on his work, and there are no concessions here on the part of the upper system. Our mission is to draw the Light that Reforms unto ourselves and to correct the incorporation of all in all.

Today it is fulfilled by dissemination, using all the opportunities we have.  After all, it is the most real and practical action of correction that we can perform. This is the reason that we cannot escape this work. We should understand that all our study and all the systems we have built are all meant only to continue the dissemination of the method of correction and connection.

This is the major part of our work through which we will be rewarded with a corrected soul and will attain the form of Adam (Man). Then we will discover what the height of 600,000 souls that make that Malchut is. All the souls of Israel are included in Malchut of the world of Atzilut and rise with it to the height of GAR of Atzilut, called 600,000, ,which is 620 times greater, or the complete attainment from the minimal Light of Nefesh of Nefesh of Nefesh until the attainment of the complete Light of NRNHY.

This is our work, and the most important thing is not to forget that our mutual incorporation is the fulfillment of the correction. Its practical embodiment is the incorporation of the whole nation, as it says: “The Creator dwells among His people.” It is there that we find our corrections and the correction of our soul.

We must not forget that this requires continuous work and caring about people. There are different levels here: the still, vegetative, and animate nature and man, and even a poor beggar is as important as a prince. Those who are on the level of the whole nation have the power from their great mass of billions of people. On the level of the vegetative there are fewer parts, and there are even fewer on the animate level, while on the human level there are just a few.

Eventually we meet with the whole world, with all the people of all sorts that will later be clarified. We cannot identify them immediately. We see that people are ignited at first and then they cool off or that they follow the right path along a very thin line and then they suddenly divert and are attracted to an unknown direction.

We have to take care of everyone, like children, until they grow up. We must remember that it is actually thanks to this care that we correct ourselves and grow. We can attain the one soul only by dissemination; this is our mission.

My Comment: This isn’t the top nor the climax and not even the beginning of the general global incitement against Israel, and  its being boycotted and excommunicated from every international organization is just beginning. All this is happening so that the Jews will realize that the world hates them and will try to understand the reason for this hatred. Those who understand the reason for the hatred of the Jews have to do everything they can to let the Jews know the reason for the hatred the world feels for them. It is only the reorganization of the Jews’ consciousness that will lead to positive changes all over the world.

Spiritual Genes of the Jewish People

Question: Why, specifically, do the Jews always hold on to the revolutionary idea of becoming one family?

Answer: It is very natural that this idea was very close to Jews when they broke out beyond the Pale of Settlement. They felt that, for them, a new window had been opened to disappear through, and without regret they abandoned their faith because it was beyond them; it didn’t give them answers to any questions, and it compelled them to carry out blindly what was recorded in their books of religious law. They didn’t want to live in exile (in remote villages), so the revolution was freedom for them, and they began to be actively integrated into it.

Besides that, a yearning burned in them to bring the entire world to a happy society, because this desire is latent in the Jewish character. However, it is buried under a lot of other egoistic layers that are so typical of the stubborn Jewish people. It follows that on the one hand, the ego of the Jews aims toward convergence, mutual help, and working between them. However, on the other hand, it is aimed toward the complete opposite: competition, the accumulation of wealth, and separation.

In principle, a polar character is typical for them, a character that is very sharp in its positive and negative manifestations because for 1,500 years—from the days of Abraham until the destruction of the second Beit HaMikdash (Temple)—the Jews lived according to the law, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” After that, they fell from this level of mutual love to the level of hatred.

They kept with them impressions of the knowledge of the two levels, so they didn’t relax and conceal that within themselves. They kept with them impressions of the knowledge of the two levels, so they are restless and internally contradictory. As the saying goes, “Wherever there are two Jews, there are four opinions,” and this is truly so. All of this is derived from their past.

However, when an idea that matches at least one of the two directions is revealed to them, either the egoistic realization or the altruistic (communistic) realization, they jump and dive into it headfirst.

That was also how it was in Russia when they rushed to build communism to bring all of humanity to happiness. They didn’t think about anything else. After all, at that time, destruction, starvation, typhus, terrorism, and hooliganism prevailed in Russia. Who could imagine becoming rich at someone else’s expense in conditions like these and then turn it all around in a different direction? This could not be!

However, a contradiction appeared here between those who were attracted and seduced by the bright faces of the communists and those who thought that this had to be held under precise supervision. In the end, Stalin and his small group seized power because the people were closer to them and understood them more than the ideals that Trotsky and his supporters tried to realize among the masses.

In any case, we understand Marx because he explained that the building of communism requires continuous research. We don’t need to look at his theory through the glasses of opportunists who distorted it and prepared the ground for a revolution with no foundation, for Marx explained that a nation like Russia, according to its social development, was not appropriate for the realization of some kind of step in the direction of the communist society.

Question: When talking about the general process of human development and the role of the Jewish people in it, we understand that there are no accidents. Everything happens naturally. The Jewish people in Russia immediately accepted the idea of communism and uprooted themselves toward it and away from religion, which basically had not let them realize themselves for two thousand years.

Answer: The Pale of Settlement didn’t give the Jews the opportunity to realize themselves. Besides, the general image of religion that began to develop even in the middle of the century played its part here. Our egoism began to grow and rise above the opinion accepted by everyone about God, hell, and heaven. It was no longer possible for a person to remain primitive, enslaving himself to such a life for the sake of some paradise in the next life. The growing egoism didn’t make it possible for him to act like that! It pulled a person into all kinds of areas, tearing him to pieces: industry, commerce, art, and culture, anything that is possible!

The Jews didn’t have such a possibility, since they had were subject to the commands of the Czar regarding the Pale of Settlement, and when all these laws suddenly collapsed, all hell broke loose immediately.

We are witnessing great disruptions all over the world these days. But we know from our history and according to the spiritual structure that these waves eventually accumulate and turn against Israel, against the Jews. That’s the way it has always been and that’s the way it will be.

The prophets wrote a lot about the days of the Messiah, and you should read what they say. If we don’t hasten time and don’t perform the necessary corrections on the spiritual dimension, they will occur in the corporeal world in a totally different manner.

The spiritual corrections stem from the internality of the vessels, because Israel is the internality of the world. But if Israel doesn’t take the process of correction upon themselves, the corrections will be through the nations of the world that are starting to act against Israel. We have already seen the outcomes of such actions.

Today, 70 years after WWII we are in the same spiral and the threat is consolidating and increasing. In the meantime, the struggle is against other states, but everything will eventually arrive at the main root of reality, which is the conflict between Israel and the rest of the world.

We shouldn’t wait for the wave of hostility to hit us again and this time from every corner of the earth. This time there will not be those who support us and those who are against us. The whole world will be against us now, just as the prophets say. This is the reason that we have to fulfill the corrections that we are responsible for now: to go out to the public as much as we can and to connect the parts that belong to our spiritual vessel to us, in order to reach a magnitude in quantity and in quality that will be suitable for the appearance of the first upper Light, Nefesh of Nefesh.

This is the only thing that can save us from all the Klipot (shells) and separate us from all the forces of impurity with a firewall. Then we will find ourselves in this spiritual vessel and will develop it more and more until we reach adhesion with the Creator. This is the call of our times; this is our mission. We have to prepare ourselves for these actions, know that we correct our souls through them, and that it is only by the connections between us that we can reveal our soul, which means the revelation of the Creator to us the created beings.

All our groups abroad continue the ordinary actions of dissemination like before, but in Israel we have a special agenda for dissemination. After all, we have to become the force to which there will be no resistance. If anyone rises against us, we will have the power to stand against him. Otherwise we will not be able to fulfill our mission. This isn’t an action of external dissemination but collecting the parts of the soul without which it cannot reach the first full measure that enables the revelation of the Creator inside it. We have to connect all the parts of the soul until we reach a magnitude of 600,000, just like the nation of Israel at gathering at Mt. Sinai.

We need such a strong connection in the group so that the Upper Light will be revealed in it. This is the reason that we have to see this act of dissemination as the quest for our soul. We are assembling the general soul and preparing the basis for the revelation of the Creator, without which the world will continue to deteriorate, and I find its condition very worrisome.

Integral Education Convention, Lecture # 1:

Question: Is it easier for the Israeli nation to understand or to feel that “there is none else besides Him” because of the uniqueness of this country and its education?

Answer: Everyone says that the Jews are a special nation; this isn’t new. The question is what this uniqueness is.

The Jews are special because they were on a spiritual height in the past. This is the group that came out of Babylon together with Abraham. All the Babylonians are called Yehudi (Jews), which stems from the Hebrew word “Yichud” – “unity.” The word “עברים – Hebrews” stems from the word “עבר –  moved,” which refers to those who have crossed to the other side, to the altruistic side. Israel are those who have an intention Yashar-El, straight to the Creator. This means that all the names that relate to this nation stem from its spiritual ascent.

When the nation was on a spiritual height it overcame its ego and then according to the thought of creation underwent two breakings—the destruction of the First and Second Temples and accordingly the shattering of the vessels, of HGT and NHYM. After the final shattering, the nation was exiled for the last time, and now it has to ascend.

Because the Jews were on a spiritual level their ego naturally grew even more after the fall. They were so even before the fall, as it says in the Torah, that back in the time of the exile in Egypt this nation was as stubborn as a donkey. When they fell from their spiritual height they became even worse.

Of course they have changed greatly during the last two thousand years and have undergone terrible sufferings and accordingly underwent many changes, but they still have no idea whatsoever what the wisdom of Kabbalah is and what the method which is their spiritual legacy means. They are totally indifferent to it.

This is the nation that is in the worst state of all the other nations because it carries the Reshimo (reminiscences) of its spiritual fall.

Accordingly there is a special atmosphere in Israel. How will a correction take place here? It is up to us. The correction will naturally take place here and partially in other nations, but only partially because people who have inherited the spiritual roots have to return to them and together with all those who awaken spiritually for different reasons to set an example for the whole world.

But I don’t want to get into why someone in South America or from Siberia, for example, begins to feel an attraction towards the spiritual ascent. There are good reasons for that. It either happens as a result of the mutual incorporation of the spiritual genes, the Reshimot, that occurred during the last two thousand years or because it turns out that a certain person belongs to the nation that used to be on a spiritual height.

Those who aspire for the Creator are called Israel. All our groups around the world belong to this group, but we also have to work with the local public. This isn’t easy, but we have to do it.

I wouldn’t say that it is easier for the Israeli nation to feel that “There is none else besides Him,” because their ego is much bigger than the others. It is much more difficult for the local population to come to this than any other public.

On the one hand, it is easier to lead any other nation up the spiritual levels, but on the other hand, the two opposite sides of the Jews nation are very prominent. It isn’t by chance that the Jews took an active part in every movement and every revolution that brought about changes in society, although only egoistic changes for the time being. Now the time has come for the spiritual changes.

I hope that we will see how all the differences between peoples and nations, cultures and civilizations gradually disappear and they all become the one nation of the Creator. This is what should happen.

The correction of the broken soul began with Adam HaRishon (the First Man) and has continued for nearly six thousand years, until our day. We are in the last stage, which is unique in that the correction must continue with the understanding and awareness of masses of people, meaning those souls in which the sparks from the Shevirat (breaking) are clothed.

In all these thousands of years from Adam HaRishon until our day there were different periods in which the souls were corrected in all kinds of ways individually, meaning in small groups. The first group was created by Abraham and was called Israel (Yashar-El – straight to God).

But today we are in a unique period called “The Last Generation” by the Kabbalists. After all, specifically now it is up to us to realize the wisdom of Kabbalah in a practical way, which means that all the people join in the process of correction.

This is the unique characteristic of the last period of correction, which must finish in the next few years or in the next few decades, depending on the efforts that we do. Up until now the higher management was compelled to work with us, and it was almost impossible for us to accelerate the development and change the timing.

Everything was revealed from above to below: building the first Beit HaMikdash (Temple)—its destruction, building the second Beit HaMikdash—its destruction, and that is how it was until the end of the last exile.

But from this moment on, after the return of the people of Israel to their land, the last stage of the correction began, which requires understanding, awareness, and the joining of all of humanity in the process. Included in this are not only a few chosen individuals and small groups, but in the end, the whole world must join in. The Kabbalists wrote about this, and it was revealed in the form that the higher system built. After the whole world joins in the process, we will merit the desired correction.

So studying alone is not enough for us. The study is said to attract the Light that Reforms to us and strengthen the person in his activities on the level in which he is found. If one is not working work with the community, which is what is most important, there is no reason to study the wisdom of Kabbalah. After all, its realization is specifically through the practical expansion of our circle more and more.

This expansion, this extension in all directions, is an absolutely necessary action, which is unique and doesn’t typify any previous period of the existence of Judaism. This wisdom always was hidden, secret, and people who learned it gathered in modest, inconspicuous places to avoid attracting attention to themselves and to not to stand out. They existed in a form completely opposite to all other religions.
