Question: If we want to take an example from Abraham, what must we talk about with people?

Answer: Suppose that we organize an institute called “Abraham,” after the name of the approach and the idea, and we begin to disseminate this philosophy, this perception, and goal of life on its behalf. So we must gather a sufficient amount of people to come out of the current modern Babylon just as they came out from ancient Babylon. This means that it’s necessary to reach a particular strength among that part which is detached from the ego and then rise upward.

We require a power that will take us upward. If I have a small balloon filled with helium, it can’t lift me. But if I take a large balloon with a diameter of twenty meters, then it will.

Question: When meeting with people, how do we do this so that this helium balloon will lift their point in the heart?

Answer: It’s simply necessary to publicize this idea among everyone, as Abraham did in his time. Through this, we attract people and they will begin to wake up and to learn from us. There is no obligation for everyone to agree with us. They come, try it—some of them leave and some of them stay.

Question: Is this active or passive dissemination?

Answer: It seems that Abraham disseminated his idea actively since Nimrod, the king of Babylon at that time, expelled him from the city since he couldn’t agree with Abraham.

Question: How can we work in the group so that on the one hand we will remain creative and on the other, make decisions in a circle: listen carefully and hear everyone’s opinion and get everyone’s consent? These two processes usually don’t go along together.

Answer: Undoubtedly, we should aspire for a collective decision, but since we have to advance quickly, we cannot involve the whole group in decision making. That’s why there is the concept of the plant: We are divided into departments, into work groups and each group has its own job.

It’s impossible for the whole world to discuss and to be involved in every decision that is made. Therefore there are governments. When the nation of Israel was on a spiritual level, there was the Sanhedrin, a spiritual government that was made of sages, Kabbalists. Everything is always arranged in the form of a pyramid.

So there have to be groups that will engage in different projects. For example, I don’t know how dissemination, the editing of the books, or the movies are organized. It isn’t my job. I am asked about a direction, about the general strategy, and according to it those in charge work on a specific work plan.

We should learn from everything we have been through that all our decisions don’t operate in one direction or another. If a decision was accepted full heartedly, by trusting the friends, by being ready to devote ourselves so that they will do whatever they want, it’s a right decision. If we make any mistakes, we will correct them later. Then we will fall again and correct things again—our whole way is made up of mistakes.

It’s enough to see what the Torah tells us about the wandering in the desert: There were always problems that came up and which needed correction. This is also our way. So if we don’t succeed, we shouldn’t think that we have failed. If we discover that we are egoists and that we were wrong, it’s the right way and that’s the way it should be.

So regard all the problems in a balanced stable manner. Don’t panic as to what may happen to us if we don’t make the right decision. On the contrary, our advancement is a sequence of ascents and descents, in discovering evil and in correcting it. We have to accept the fact that we are headed towards our correction, and so we should relate to all the problems that arise in a balanced manner.

We shouldn’t worry too much about certain decisions that were made. No matter what you decide, whatever has to happen will happen. Be a little fatalistic, do whatever you can and accept whatever happens afterwards gladly.

Question: In our group we have a situation whereby some want to disseminate but cannot, and others cannot and don’t want to. What is your advice for those who want to disseminate but in the meantime are unable to compel themselves to do so?

Answer: It is forbidden to compel anyone. But the people who want to disseminate must do so. Nobody has the right to restrain and obstruct someone; the instruction has already been given for everyone to be involved in dissemination. Whoever is still against it, let them be against it; that’s their own business. But in no way can someone obstruct the others; otherwise we need to expel him from the group.

If a person doesn’t want to disseminate, sits quietly, and in the meantime doesn’t feel the importance of it, although he sees that everyone is involved in this, while he is so special and has no desire for it, we let him stay. We hope that he will wise up and change. Either he will have to leave the group or with time, he will also begin to be involved in dissemination.

There are people who don’t know how to speak and also don’t need to; they will help in some other way. A group that doesn’t disseminate gradually becomes weaker and people leave it. They stop feeling the need; there is no new desire, no new blood. They don’t work with the public and have nothing to do; they turn sour: “How much can we learn the same things, how much can we speak about the same things?”

And the most important task is still ahead of us all: to organize workshops for the masses, whereby unification creates within them an absolutely new feeling, a new power, a new level of existence. They will begin to rise above themselves, completely new thoughts, a new outlook, a new—shared—mind, will appear in them.

All the upper worlds exist in our world, they are here now as well. But people don’t see them, they don’t have the “glasses,” this vision, they are not ready to discern at this frequency. They see everything in a particular range of frequency, but they don’t have the “equipment” for seeing the upper world.

We need to bring humanity to such a state. After all, after a number of workshops (even after the first workshop) they start feeling that something fills them from within. They begin to look at things in a completely different way, with another perspective of the world; they begin to think and speak differently, they feel as if they are floating on a cushion of air. After that it is possible to talk with them in another way.

Our problem is that we are “in shackles,” captured in the network that links us, closes us and determines all our values. We just have to dress in a certain way, eat certain food, work as prescribed, behave as accepted, and to adhere to the standard way of thinking.

We do not have our own tastes, but we have those habits that society “spoon-feeds” us. It gives us our beliefs and our actions; it affects us now through its channels, some of which can be neither recognized nor traced. We cannot block them by any protective mechanism that blocks the thoughts and desires of a large environment.

As a result, a person does not know who he is at all. After all, he is placed in the system, programmed and filled with messages that originally have no relationship with it. There is nothing you can do about it; you cannot eliminate or remove them from yourself. Even the desire to escape from these clutches is also implanted in us by this system. It turns out that I have accumulated thoughts and desires that are not mine, and I myself do not exist at all.

Even though I am not free and am “made” by the environment, only the point in the heart, if it emerges in me, gives me the opportunity to build in myself something that doesn’t depend on anything and anyone, something caused by another world.

In my world, I am already “finished,” “prepared.” Here, I will never reach my own feelings, reason, and independent actions. They initially cannot be mine because everything that I have, I have received from another, from the world.

Yet, this “ape” is able to take a different form – the form of the human (Adam), similar (Domeh), to the Creator. If the point has emerged in my heart, I can develop it by my own efforts in a special environment, I can build a completely different world. I create a “bubble” in the middle of our world and develop freely in it if only I realize my freedom of will.

However, I also obey—but obey on my own accord, according to my own decisions—surrendering myself before my new, unique environment with its unique values. This is the only way. I do not own anything.

Accordingly, by accepting the influence of the external environment, I am in “exile.” Conversely, placing myself under the influence of the special environment, I strive to get out of exile and ultimately get rid of the influence of the external “landlord’s” egoistic society.

It is understood from this that the exile for the people of Israel means retreat under the influence of the external wide world and the assimilation of foreign customs, external values, substituting for love of the other as oneself. On the other hand, trying to get out of exile, we build the environment that will be imbued with the values of love and bestowal. This is possible by means of the wisdom of Kabbalah or by means of integral education. Either way, there is only one means: the environment that puts unity above all.

Baal HaSulam, “The Freedom”:  For although everyone has “his own source,” the forces are revealed openly only through the environment one is in. This is similar to the wheat sown in the ground, whose forces become apparent only through its environment, which is the soil, the rain, and the light of the sun…And as we have clarified above, only in the matter of the choice of environment is man’s reign over himself measured, and for this he should receive either reward or punishment.

We thus understand to what extent we have to worry about strengthening the environment in order to make it as big and as qualitative as possible, which means strong. It has to be invincible thanks to its size and quality, so no strange society or strange thoughts from respectable, influential people around the world, or large crowds will be able to affect us, our way, our goal, and our method.

The moment the feeling that our way just disappears, our connection with this process weakens a little even if we are not aware of it, and then to the same extent the upper Light weakens. Then a person loses “big time,” since he is not under the influence of the one force that can change his fate anymore.

So the only worthwhile engagement in life is to raise and strengthen the society. There is no freewill regarding anything else and there are no forces that can bring about any changes. The whole world will follow us if we keep our society on the right level. It is by the Light that Reforms that we draw upon our society that we manage everyone.

If there is no Light, then we immediately fall back into the path of suffering and return to the same path of corporeal life that manages the whole world. So we have to constantly raise our environment and expand it qualitatively, which is the only thing a person has. So integral education is meant to strengthen our vessel and to draw as many more new people as possible no matter if they are not totally aware of the method as long as they accept it and relate to it and get to know it.

Now, when it is “book week” in Israel, we have to invest in the public as much as we can, disregarding the expenses and the physical effort. Thus we invest in our own internality by raising our environment and strengthening it and its walls. Besides, we are also doing external work, outside our “walls,” by creating a different system of public relations and of bringing people closer to us, thus strengthening the public opinion.

The main thing, however, is still working on the connection between us since through it, in the network that connects all of humanity all over the world, like underground water, the Light that Reforms will spread and change people.

Baal HaSulam “Peace in the World”: Everything is evaluated not by its appearance at a given moment, but according to its measure of development. Everything in reality, good and bad, and even the most harmful in the world, has a right to exist and should not be eradicated from the world and destroyed. We must only mend and reform it because any observation of the work of Creation is enough to teach us about the greatness and perfection of its operator and Creator.

From here clear and far-reaching conclusions can be made. Everything that happens in the world at every moment comes from the single source, from the Creator. I correct only my own perception, my own vision. Moreover, I correct it in only one direction: to achieve bestowal fully. Thus I discover the world, which is less distorted by my nature, more complete; I see that this is its true, immutable form.

Question: If we correct only our perception of the world, then why do we need to disseminate among other people?

Answer: I want to bring them closer to the goal through dissemination. In fact, they are parts of my soul. The whole world is parts of my soul, and I work with them twofold: on the one hand, I carry the Light to them, and on the other hand, I create the condition for them to get closer to me. The main thing is that thanks to these two actions, directly and “through the back door,” alternating them we unite, and eventually I return all the parts of my soul.

This is the way I have to look at the world, including the still, vegetative, and animate nature. All reality is the essence of my soul, a unified desire. It’s revealed to me now because by definition, I cannot feel anything but it. The desire is my “sensitive material,” and I need only to reveal its reality correctly. I work on that, on correcting my own perception.

How? According to the principle of “love thy neighbor as thyself.” Why? I do so because now parts of my ego, which distort the picture of the world, seem remote to me, often disgusting, opposite, and I have to correct my perception.

Thus, in the end, I correct only myself. That is why Baal HaSulam writes that even bad things should be not destroyed, but corrected. Now they are bad, hateful in my eyes, and when I correct my vision, my attitude, they will become good and useful for me.

It’s impossible to correct anything in the world, but oneself. We already see that this brings only harm. And hence it’s necessary to understand that all the corrections, all the positive changes, are realized precisely in our attitude.

Even if I see the most evil person in front of me, I need to correct myself so that he ceases to do harm. You can destroy someone only if he wants to stop my action of correction, meaning to kill me. Thus, he leaves me no choice, and in this case it will also be a correction. However, while I have a different solution, I must act, work on correction, so that evil is eliminated from the world.

Question: Still, why do we tell people about the integral methodology as if we want to convince them of something?

Answer: Because in this manner we assure the correction of ourselves. To whom do I explain the method? I explain to the parts of my soul. However, I do not correct them, but just give them a tool to correct themselves. And for me, this is self-correction.

We must imagine a system where my parts are outside of me, and that is why I can correct them in this way. I do not destroy or suppress them, but pass the method of correction by gentle explanations. I care about them to the extent of how much they are able to use it, and to the extent of their inability, I create the conditions for them to get closer to me. However, I do not pull them by force, do not demand obedience. After all, we are separated by the evil inclination and I have to correct it. In other words, I do so and they approach me, in spite of mutual rejection. And thus, I return them to the source.

We have to think about this picture. An evil motive penetrated the unified desire, broke it into pieces and scattered them in different directions. Now, when instead of belonging to one whole, we experience oppositeness, hatred; we need to understand how we transform this separation into unity; in the new power of our unity, we need to understand why we start correction in this way, preserving everyone’s uniqueness. I have to protect the egoistic desire. It’s like the “Angel of Death” that will turn into the “Pure Angel.” Without it, the whole creation is worthless.

Question: Will all the seven billion people who populate the earth have to reveal and feel the upper world?

Answer: All the seven billion live in our world, and all of them feel our world, albeit each in their own way. They will feel the upper world differently as well. The upper world is the perception of the Creator. This is why they will feel Him, this general force of correction, love, and interconnection.

One way or the other, the pyramid remains. It’s not up to a person. Everyone will feel totally satisfied and calm. It’s because the root of the soul, which arranges us one in relation to the other, is fixed.

This means that everyone gets to do something special, as it is said, “the sages discussed for seventy years who is luckier:  he who is not born lucky or he who is?” They came to the conclusion that it’s best not to be born at all, but if you were born, then you should fulfill your mission.

Question: The wisdom of Kabbalah has used four languages throughout history: the language of the Bible, the language of Halacha (Jewish Law), the language of the Haggadah, and the language of Kabbalah. Can we say that the language of integral education is the fifth new language that we use in order to communicate with the world?

Answer: No. It’s more like the language of Kabbalah, adapted for “babies.”  It’s because we speak to people about love, connection, submission, about the collective force of bestowal that is revealed in the connection between us. This force is revealed from a higher level and dwells among us just like wisdom for the masses. We explain the psychology of integral education using today’s terminology behind which there is no other but the wisdom of Kabbalah: the Sefirot, Partzufim, the worlds, ascents and descents, mutual connection, Reshimot (reminiscences), etc.

Question: If in the past it used to be enough for me to study the wisdom of Kabbalah and to connect with the friends and the group, do I also have to study this style of Kabbalistic language today?

Answer: Yes. It is the uniqueness of integral education. Similarly, we explain to children and adults the same things in different ways. The connection with the world goes through a different level of communication and we have to learn it.

It’s the Light that Reforms that corrects everyone. It doesn’t come to the masses if we don’t participate in the process. If the world starts connecting independently, it will speed up the pace of advancing along the path of suffering.

For example, if Europe begins to strengthen the union that it needs so badly today, it will lead to Nazi regimes, and local communes that abuse others. But if we work on the unity of Europe, then it will take on a spiritual form, according to the rule of “love thy friend as thyself.” Therefore, we mustn’t give the world time to start the egoistic connection. Only if we initiate the process of connection among them will it lead to a positive result.

Question: How can we do that?

Answer: By using the media, through our groups, and mainly through the general network that connects all of us “below the surface.” Through it, we will influence people and they will begin to understand that we have the right method of correction and no one else.

In fact, accepting integral education is the criterion that a person is ready to be corrected. This is the fulfillment of the wisdom of Kabbalah, as it says in the articles “Matan Torah” (The Giving of the Torah) and “The Arvut” (Mutual Guarantee). So our role is to become teachers, a “kingdom of priests and a holy nation” with regards to the nations of the world. This is actually the field where we perform our external actions—”a field blessed by the Creator.”

Question: Would it be worthwhile for us to change the form of the conventions gradually and to do them not for those who have been learning the integral method but for those who don’t study and want to hear about it? Immense efforts and means are invested in preparation for conventions. Might it be preferable to invest in attracting people who are not familiar with the integral method?

Answer: Certainly, it would be nice to use all our means for world dissemination. However, it is impossible to turn to a person and say: “Let’s set up a virtual convention, and the effort and resources that could be invested in a physical convention, we will invest in dissemination.”

Question: Why not? It is certainly very nice to see like-minded people with whom you are familiar at the conventions. However, these events gather so many people now that it is more and more difficult to meet people whom we know. So, our experiment to create a big family where everyone knows everyone else essentially becomes a fantasy. Is it worthwhile to waste our resources and efforts on this?

Answer: You might be right. I feel that we are going in this direction, but every paradigm must finish its work. So, I hope that what is being conceived now will ultimately come into being: a virtual world system of integral education that will not require constant meetings.

However, today, when I come to Europe, for example, and hundreds of students arrive from thirty countries, for them, this is not just a meeting with me. This is an organization. They communicate with each other, regroup, and agree on how to disseminate, what must be done next, and so on. Along with this, I try to give them the opportunity to connect, to mold an organized center for information and publicity by themselves.

The power that is created through our communication is what is called the wisdom of the group that today already has been established through experiments.

We are dealing with physical values, not imaginary ones. When people gather and organize some kind of society among themselves, a great power and potential appears, which is greater than the mere sum. This is natural and scientifically proven.
