Question: Recently, cytotherapy (cell and gene therapy) has developed, which often results in the sale of stem cells from an unborn baby.

There are stories of doctors conducting ultrasound scans and deliberately giving a wrong diagnosis and telling the mother that she needs to terminate the pregnancy for medical reasons so that the embryo could be used to rejuvenate famous people, so these physicians can earn a nice sum of money.

What’s happening? How can this be? The main oath doctors take is the Hippocratic oath: “Do no harm.”

Answer: What are you talking about?! We see that doctors are one of the most egoistic specialties because a doctor feels that he has power over you, that he can command you; he feels his impunity.

Comment: It would seem that it should be the opposite.

My Response: You appeal to morality, to some kind of inner honesty, conscience, or justice. How can one demand this from a modern person? Especially when you take young people and teach them to be egoistic, to try to achieve some position, some kind of power by any means. A doctor is paid to serve more patients and prescribe more drugs for which money is paid.

Each doctor is personally interested in patients coming to him and not to another doctor. It is beneficial for him to prescribe additional drugs for each patient since in the end it turns out to be a decent income for him. I have talked with some doctors and they explained everything to me frankly. That is, the doctor has absolutely no interest in human health.

Therefore today all medicine is aimed at making money. And there’s nothing to say about the cost of medicines and medical equipment. The health care budget sometimes exceeds the national defense budget. This is an extremely lucrative trough for millions of people.

Since all medicine is arranged by us egoistically, we cannot demand that doctors help a person disinterestedly. All their activity is based on their attitude not toward a person, but toward his organ. Therefore the whole approach, both in general and in particular, is completely flawed.

Question: Can this approach be changed?

Answer: No. This will become possible only when a person is convinced that he lives in a whole world and is connected with everyone else. If he wants to be healthy, then he must take care of the health of the whole society.

In The Book of Zohar, in the chapter “Pinchas,” it is said that all our illnesses result from an egoistic attitude toward each other. We transfer this infection, this poison, from one to another, and therefore we get sick.

Question: There is what is called the Dunbar number, which is the number of social connections that a person can keep in his head.

An English anthropologist, Robin Dunbar, determined that in any given situation, 150 is the number of people that makes an active group of contacts with whom a person can interact at one time.

Neurophysiologists say that if we lack social connections, we begin to create them artificially.

Why does a person need such a social network in his head?

Answer: The fact is that we are created as social beings who have to interact with each other and create a certain field of communication between us and even above us. This is what makes us human; otherwise we are animals. After all, there is no “human” level in nature. There are only three levels: inanimate, vegetative, and animate, and human is something above nature.

That is, we want to rise to this level, and we have certain beginnings. But in order to create this level, it is first necessary to learn how to communicate and interact correctly. We don’t have this yet in our society. It is barely trying to rise from the animate degree to the level of “man.” Therefore such beginnings are appreciated.

The forecast for 2022 depends entirely on the kind of relations we will have with each other. Man is at the very top of the ladder of all parts of reality: inanimate matter, plants, animals, and humans. Therefore, our behavior toward nature and with each other determines all the other lower levels.

Although it seems to us that our thoughts, desires, and relationships do not affect the levels of nature below us: the inanimate, vegetative, and animate, the fact is that we also determine our attitude toward the rest of nature through our egoistic relations with each other and we see the corresponding consequences in nature itself and how we are harming it.

There is no more harmful element than man in the world that damages all of nature. This is why we need to think about ways to change our attitude to the environment, the use of natural resources, and climate change. All this can be balanced by adjusting the relations between people.

We can do i; everything is in our hands. This is a very flexible way because we do not need to stop plants and factories. Let’s just relate to each other more kindly and obligate everyone to this because everyone understands that our world requires urgent change and healing.

If we do not do it, the world will be dying away year after year. We are depleting the natural resources of the Earth, taking the last of the oil, gas, and coal, polluting the oceans and sources of freshwater, and poisoning the air. We cannot go on like this. I do not belong to any society for the protection of the environment. I only say that the ecology and all other problems on Earth depend on the relationships between people. Let’s change this relationship and everything will change from that.

We are already in an economic crisis, and we can have other crises in addition to it: financial, industrial, family, international diplomatic crisis. There are many conflict points in the world  that could spark a world war. However, the relationship between people includes an attitude toward everything else. We need to correct man! I hope that in 2022 we will begin to understand this.

If humanity could look at itself in the mirror and see its internal relationships, we would simply shudder with horror. Everyone would look like an evil wolf or crocodile—just like in horror movies.

People do not believe that our relationships can be improved; they do not believe at all that it is possible to correct man. However, here is the method of Kabbalah. If we really feel how dependent we are on each other, how we are enslaved to our egoism, which controls us all the time to our detriment, and we start thinking about the way to escape from this slavery, we will be able to somewhat rise above ourselves a. Then our lives will change completely.

The problem is that people do not think this correction is possible because it does not come from nature. It is revealed only to a limited number of people that it is possible to rise above human egoism.

Besides, this method is special due to the fact that it cannot be implemented by one person but requires the support of many people around him.

Only by mutually supporting and helping each other can they rise above the egoism they were born into and grew up in. In this way they can overcome their egoism and see how the world changes if they look at it from the quality of bestowal instead of the quality of reception.

Freedom is the right to inequality.

Equality (if it is understood more broadly than purely formal legal term “equal rights”) and freedom are incompatible things. By nature, people are not equal, equality can only be achieved through violence, which will always be an alignment to the lowest level.

It is possible to equalize the poor with the rich, but only by taking away from the rich his wealth.
It is possible to equalize the weak with the strong, but only by taking away from the strong his strength.
It is possible to equalize the fool with the clever, but only by turning the wisdom from dignity into a blemish.

The society of universal equality is a society of the poor, the weak and the foolish, based on violence (Nikolai Berdyaev).

My Response: This is what they tried to build in his country. But it is impossible. By this you deprive a person of the opportunity to move forward. After all, he measures himself in relation to others. And if there is no competition, there is degradation.

I am for competition but for good, right competition so that you are better than him, and he is better than you. And it becomes better, better, and better every time, kinder, smarter, and so on. And then you would like to become the same and even more than that.

The year 2021 is ending. We are on the threshold of 2022, and everyone wants to know what the New Year will bring. Will we have respite from the problems that have befallen us recently?

The year 2021 made a huge gap in the lives of many people, brought fears, uncertainty, catastrophic changes in nature, the economy, health, and all areas of life. How can you turn all these changes to a point that will bring new life?

We must understand that if we want to turn the course of development and direct it to a new course, we must perceive everything that happens as yearning for connection with each other. Overcoming all the problems and all the troubles that weigh down on our lives is only possible if we are more and more united. And then we will see that this is a universal solution to all possible problems.

If we feel closer and help each other, stop hatred and wars, do everything to be together as one man with one heart, then we will come out of all adversity and problems with a big win.

You simply have to go and do it. I do not know of a single technique, religion, or faith from ancient times to the present day that call for anything else. We need to realize what so many people, prophets, great personalities, and spiritual leaders have talked about throughout the history of mankind. If we do this, we will surely have a good life.

There is abundance in our world; there is no shortage of anything, but we take natural resources, water, and air from the earth and turn it all into poison because we use everything only for the sake of someone’s profit, weapons, and enmity. We must change our attitude toward nature, toward society. If each of us wants this, then we will oblige the world leaders to it—even those who are against it.

Today’s reality seems extremely complex. What can you expect from 2022? If we do not change this state, it will be even worse. Unfortunately, I do not see any other prospects yet. Despite the fact that mankind is getting smarter year after year in engineering, technology, and modern medicine, we do not know how to use all of this correctly for the life of an ordinary person. This is the problem.

And all this is because we are not fixing relationships between people. It turns out that everyone feels like an individualist, separated from others, and not indebted to them. And although the world’s population has grown to several billion people, everyone suffers only because of that.

Pharmaceutical company Pfizer predicts that we will have to fight the coronavirus epidemic until 2024. What then can be expected in 2022 if we take into account the additional problems from climate change, the collapse of economy and all areas of life in the world? All these problems will continue: natural disasters, volcanic explosions, earthquakes, and extreme global warming that we are causing.

This global warming is freeing all kinds of harmful viruses from the earth, many of which will be very difficult for us to fight, if we can at all. All this is on the horizon, but we can undo all this and prevent these problems. However, the solution lies not in the field of technology, medicine, or pharmaceuticals, but only in the field of human relations.

By correcting relations between common people and countries, we have the opportunity to stop all harmful viruses: both known and not yet known and leave them in place where they are now, not letting them appear, develop, multiply, and enter us. It all depends only on the relationship between people.

One can ask: “What is the connection between the economy, climate, and human relations?” The fact is that man is at the highest level of everything that exists in nature, of all its levels: inanimate, vegetative, animate, and human. And even more so when humanity reaches a high level of development as it did at the end of the 20th and 21st century.

We can do everything! We have high technologies, powerful weapons, and modern medicine. But in relations between people, we are in a much worse condition than the most primitive people who lived thousands of years ago. And we need to improve this area.

The world develops through suffering, by getting more and more blows. And in order to break out of this tangled circle, we need to understand what the blows depend on and how to organize our lives in a new way so that the blows benefit us and bring us closer to each other and to the global nature, meaning to the upper force.

Then we will feel that we live in a wonderful world! There is no shortage of anything in our world except a kind, balanced connection between all the forces of nature. If we could connect one with the other through forces of kindness instead of forces of confrontation, we would feel ourselves in the upper world, in paradise, instead of in this world.

We just all need to agree that we want to awaken the good forces hidden within us in order to build good relationships. Everyone has a little bit of such forces. But if we all want to awaken together toward kindness, then it is possible.

This is exactly what we need to do leading up to 2022. We have already tried all the means and realized that nothing works except for one thing: let’s try to keep good connections with each other. We will help each other with our thoughts so that everyone will manage to come to such mutual involvement, support, unity, and love.

We will not let anyone explode, scream, or spill their evil on to others. Then we can really succeed, and 2022 will be a turning point in our relations in the family, between states, and among all people. We will see how we balance the whole of nature with this. All the forces of nature, supposedly in conflict with each other, will suddenly calm down, and all nature will come into balance.

I wish my students all over the world to absorb even more wisdom of Kabbalah in the new year and gather even wider circles of support around them so that together we can change the world for the better.

My wish to all mankind for this new year: Let’s come to love, connection, and mutual embrace between all people without any distinction around the globe. This will solve all the problems.

Question: I saw a news clip of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tuvalu (a small low-lying Polynesian island) standing knee-deep in seawater addressing other countries with the cry that they will not exist in 10 to 15 years because the water is rising due to global warming. The minister admonishes: “We cannot wait for speeches when the sea is rising around us all the time.  Climate mobility must come to the forefront. We must take bold alternative action today to secure tomorrow.”

It is, most likely, a diplomatic trick, but will it be heard?

Answer: Of course not.

Question: I have an even more terrible thought. “Do I even hear it?”

Answer: No, also not. I assure you, it won’t spoil your appetite.

Comment: I will not tear out my hair, beat my chest, and so on. This is a problem.

My Response: It’s not a problem. This is our universal, normal, natural egoism. Imagine that our whole Earth is a jungle. We live in this jungle and we don’t even have a clue and don’t feel what’s going on with each other. The most important thing is that there is a jungle around us.

Question: Why did the Creator do such a thing that there is not a drop of empathy in us?

Answer: It is specially designed like this. The need to achieve boundless love.

Question: So we have to achieve boundless love, and that’s why we are now such complete sinners?

Answer: Absolutely complete, opposite.

Comment: You keep saying, “A person should understand what he is like.” But at what point will empathy arise? I really want it to happen sometime.

My Response: Never.

Question: And how will we come to love?

Answer: There is no way. We will not come to it, we will just gradually, piece by piece, destroy each other until we disappear. If we look at our nature, then this is how it should be. The only thing left for us is simply to agree together at the General Assembly of the United Unfortunate Nations: let’s push the nuclear buttons at the same time. That’s all.

Comment: And then there will be no one left at all, there will be no one to make the correction.

My Response: But we will clear this planet from us and that’s it.

Comment: We’ve made enough mess on it, you’re absolutely right here.

My Response: There is nothing you can do otherwise. This was how it was done in medieval castles; they left after they had made a mess, and left it as it was. And then the servants began to clean. After six months, it was possible to return.

If we look at our nature we see how all these great personalities act among themselves: politicians, scientists, physicists, chemists, anyone. They act only in one direction: How can we make sure that we can destroy others and they can’t destroy us. That’s all.

Question: But does someone invent something positive for humanity? Not just the means of destruction, right? For example, all sorts of medicines.

Answer: No. If we didn’t do bad things, we wouldn’t have to invent medicine. This is all a natural consequence.

Question: You mean if we didn’t do evil to others, we wouldn’t get sick?

Answer: Of course! There would be no illnesses. Nothing. This is the root of everything.

Question: At the same time, you say that it is also impossible to do good to others with our nature?

Answer: It is impossible. In our state I don’t see any way out.

Question: But how can we get out of it in order to still come to the purpose of creation?

Answer: I don’t think it’s necessary to talk about it at all because I see that it is impossible to do anything for humanity, with humanity, in humanity. I don’t see.

Question: Then what should I dream about and how maybe to get closer to this dream?

Answer: How to forget yourself and fall asleep? Sleep peacefully and forever.

Question: What are your hopes?

Answer: I’m continuing what I think is my mission. That is, I tell what I know.

I know that there is an opportunity to move to a completely different way of existence, the opposite of what we are in today. We are in complete rejection, suppression of each other. And the opposite state is boundless mutual love.

Let’s say we invented a virus that bit us all, and we would begin to feel that we are all the closest relatives who feel like one.

Comment: Which means, we can’t do anything ourselves, but if a virus came…

My Response: Maybe we can want it a little. And then these viruses will land on us and make us such people. This is our most important task.

To do this, first of all, we need to see who we are today. Do not deny the bad that is in us, do not put up with it. Try to understand that there may be an absolutely opposite quality. Because in nature, all qualities come in pairs opposite to each other. So there is such a possibility, although we do not see it.

And further, if we so wish, then such an inversion can happen in us. And if not, then forget yourself and fall asleep. At least you won’t be fouling the space around you.

Question: But can such an inversion happen?

Answer: It should happen, but when is unknown. And this is not pessimism. This is just a real statement of the normal facts of our nature.

Question: But it has to happen?

Answer: I think so. Because nature always manifests itself in two opposite qualities one after the other. Therefore, I think that after our state when we reach, as they say, the bottom, there will be such a phase reversal.

Question: And we will begin to understand that everything is created by love and should lead to love?

Answer: This will happen above us, that is, outside of us. And it will affect us in such a way that we will change, become absolutely the opposite— loving.

Then comes emptiness and disappointment, that is what you have come to. It seems to you that although we used to live primitively, it was nice: family, meadows, children. All this is drawn to you so pastorally, harmoniously. But today, what a horror! A person is obliged. He cannot run away anywhere, and most importantly run away from himself!

He tries to do this by saying, “I live the way I live.” But it does not work because the law of nature is such that we cannot get away from it. We will still have to reach an answer to the question of the meaning of life. Moreover, not achieve it philosophically and not to somehow calm yourself, but to find it, see it, understand it. What does a person live for? This is not just a purely theoretical question, search, and torment through thorns to the stars, and so on. No! We want to see it!

In fact, this question rests on death. A person should know that he continues to live, but not by some kind of faith—by what religion promises him. He should see a clear, beautiful, bright continuation in front of him. Then these tens of years of life make sense.

Comment: You said that the feeling of hell is an inner state of a person. One of the reasons for feeling unfulfilled is the inner attitude toward others to use them for one’s own sake.

My Response: Ordinary desires to receive are animalistic desires. They are neither good nor bad because they obey commands of nature.

A person has an inherent desire to exist comfortably at the minimal level, and this is normal. Even within the framework of the law, if someone stole a piece of bread somewhere just to satiate his hunger like an animal, I do not think they would be judged for it because it was necessary to maintain life.

Yet, everything we want to acquire above animalistic existence is already egoism. After all, everything that we acquire above it directly or indirectly happens at the expense of other people. Thus, we use others, look for ways to be higher, and show our hatred for them.

I begin to feel that the higher I am or the lower the other is, the more pleasant it is for me. That is, I am already thinking about ways to make it worse for someone else because it will make me feel better indirectly or even directly. Egoism is in the fact that I wish evil to the other.

We do not feel to what extent in our world we use each other every second. We need to transform our evil nature into a good one, use the same qualities, only not to harm but to benefit others, to connect with them.

Egoism is good because it connects us. I look at others to find out what I would like to learn from them so that I can influence them and subdue them. If it were not for egoism, I would exist as an animal on my own and I would not care about others.

Egoism makes us connect with each other. But in the form we use it, it is called the evil inclination. I need to turn it into a good one. That is, from what I receive from everyone, subjugate, saturate, and bind to myself, I turn this connection into one where I serve them, fulfill them, and give to them as if they were my children whom I wish only the best.

Therefore, without the evil inclination that binds us together, we cannot develop. Thus, a universal, global evil connection between us is being revealed in the world today. Along with this, Kabbalah is revealed because we have come to a state where we begin to understand that we are connected in a bad way, and we have no other choice, we must be connected by good connections.
