Question: Why does the work with an external audience develop a need for the Creator and a group?

Answer: Because it is all one vessel. Otherwise there is no need to do this. But if we want to get closer to the Creator, we feel that this is possible only through working with people. The reason is not in caring about other people, because according to the development of our desires, we feel no need for it. But we want to reach the Creator, though still egoistically, and we see that there is no other way.

By investing in work with people egoistically, with the egoistic intention to reach the Creator (Lo Lishma), we still care for others for the sake of revealing Him; that is, we already connect this chain. Our intentions are still incorrect and egoistic, but we are on the path, making correct actions. And then these correct actions attract the Light that Reforms to us, which corrects our intention. Thus, we come from Lo Lishma to Lishma.

We are not required to have an intention; it does not depend on us. We are required only to make efforts where we can and the intention will be corrected because of them. A person cannot be demanded not to think of himself. How is this possible? The intention depends only on the strength of the Light that affects us like a magnet from above. The Light pulls us more and we rise and become inspired by the right intention; it pulls us less and we fall down and think more about ourselves. It all depends on the Light.

We awaken the Light by our desire to correct intention. This is called the realization of evil. A prayer is a request of the intention to bestow, but already on correct actions.

Initially there were Kabbalists who could feel the need to turn to the Creator only because of connection with friends. And we are not capable of that, our desire is more egoistic, broken, and coarse. But on the other hand, precisely because of this, we are able to start working with the general public. This is the characteristic of our generation.

As we work, we feel the need for the group more acutely because we feel that without a connection with it, we will not succeed in external dissemination. And we depend on it because we are ashamed to be losers and spend so much effort in vain; we have already invested too much in this work.

But eventually, the Creator will play with us so that we will realize that we depend only on Him and no one else, neither the public nor ourselves. This is the purpose of all that is happening now in this world, so that we will want Him and understand that the source of our entire life is in Him!

Question: Our group broke apart after the St. Petersburg convention and only one or two people come to the morning lesson now. What has happened to the group? Everyone suddenly has serious personal problems. How can we overcome this situation?

Answer: We keep forgetting that nothing happens by chance and that everything is done by the Creator. Whatever we receive is controlled by the general system of providence. This system is both general and individual.

Suddenly, the friends in the group feel bad and have some external and internal problems. Everyone has his own private personal or family troubles. They don’t understand that there are actually no problems. There is only one problem and that is the connection with the Creator! Everything else is just an external reflection of this connection. There is nothing but that!

Your connection with the Creator is illustrated by the rule of “for better or worse” and is revealed in different events that are depicted to you at work, at home, in the family, with the children, or with yourself when it comes to your health or to different inner feelings or different moods. The Creator does all that in order to wash you thoroughly in different states, wring you like a rag, and show you what you are worth.

He does it in a controlled manner, according to your state, with the one intention that you will always have a chance to rise. If you cannot rise above every state that you are in, above every problem, it means that you haven’t fulfilled the condition you were given.

There are no dead-end states! They all are measured carefully in advance and come from the Creator with the one and only intention of raising you higher, not lower. This state is not part of the plan of creation. Even if you are lowered, in your transition through the lowest state, the upper state already is pre-existing. What does a low state mean? It is the upper state that you feel in your uncorrected vessels and, therefore, seems lower to you.

A descent is the desire of the next state, and, although you have not corrected it yet, it is already the next state. So, there are no descents and ascents! We always rise according to the module!

Where does the emptiness, fear, nervousness, and total apathy that I feel now—and everything we feel during a descent—stem from? It stems from my growing ego and the demands and feelings that have grown, which are already my next state that is revealed in its uncorrected form, not in the Light.

So, a day begins from the night. The night is the preparation for the Light. We study in the Study of the Ten Sefirot that the preparation for the correction of the vessels takes place during the night. Then the morning comes, not according to the clock, but according to the correction of the vessels, of the desires.

Question: Each of us feels the importance and need for physical contact in the group and the groups of ten for the sense of confidence and importance one feels in the connection. What can replace the lack of physical contact?

We listen to the daily lesson every morning and have different committees. We get text messages every hour, but physically we get together only once or twice a week.

Answer: The point is not how many times you get together but how many times you come in contact with people on the outside. The spiritual work is as follows: The Creator is above, and below the Creator there is the group, in the group, there is the teacher (Rav); all the Kabbalists from whom we have received our method surround the group and the teacher, and below there are the masses, society, the people.

First, we have to connect in the group. This unity is essential when each one exits himself, performs the first restriction, creates a Masach (screen), and connects to others. Then we connect to the Creator by wanting to bring Him into the group, which is the second part. Third, when the Creator is already among us, we go out to the people.

Among the people we begin to feel that it’s not enough for us since we discover different deficiencies. Then we return to the group and in it we return to the Creator. Through the group we are empowered by the Creator, and then we return to the people. Thus we constantly perform this cyclical work. So physical contact is not enough, we have to engage in external dissemination through the group.

Our whole group is called Israel, Yashar-El (straight to the Creator). What does Yashar-El mean? Where can we discover Him? In the same place where there is a desire that was created by the Creator. The Creator is Light. We are in the middle, like a switch. Israel is the conductor through which this connection is fulfilled; this is all our work.

Therefore, we cannot connect to the Creator if we have no contact with the public, since together with the group and all the Kabbalists, we are not considered a created being. We are an artificial creation that the Creator has created in order to fulfill the connection between Him and His created being since we operate by the desire in our heart which He has given us. The point in the heart is what is typical of our group.

We don’t generate this point; it’s the Creator’s attribute from above. We work from this point, so we can only be the switch, the connector, the conductor, between the Creator and the desires. The Creator is Light. There is a desire and there is the Light that has to correct the desire and to fill it. We are in between the two and we have to fulfill this.

You can listen to as many lessons as you wish and have committees, but it will lead to nothing. You will actually remain on the same level for 10 to 20 years until you dry up and leave this useless business since you don’t engage in disseminating to the public!

The wisdom of Kabbalah is the revelation of the Creator in this world! Read the definition of the wisdom of Kabbalah in Baal HaSulam’s article “The Essence of the Wisdom of Kabbalah.” The wisdom of Kabbalah is the revelation of the Creator to the people in our world. This is His desire, His goal, and the reason for all of creation.

We have to fulfill this goal. But in whom? It’s done in the masses, not in us. If we fulfill it only in us, we operate egoistically. The revelation of the Creator among the masses is not considered egoistic, since they don’t want it and have no desire for it; they are not egoists with regard to the Creator. They don’t need Him.

We, however, need Him! So we have to work for them, to discover the Creator among them, and then this revelation will be altruistic with regard to us. Study the diagram I drew and you will see that you cannot need the Creator if you don’t go out to the people. Only if you go out to the people and engage in dissemination will you feel that you need Him.

Question: How should we prepare ourselves before we go out to disseminate integral education?

Answer: You have to connect to the friends and you prepare yourself to the fact that you are going to correct the parts of your soul in which there is a force that is opposite from the Creator, which means the shattered Upper Light, the Light that shattered the vessels.

You are going to correct the relationship between these vessels using the same Light that was in the vessels, but which later inserted the force of hatred and rejection into them instead of the force of unity, and left them. Now it’s on the outside as the Surrounding Light. You are going to take care of these vessels and to draw the Surrounding Light upon them in order to bring them closer to each other and connect them by this Surrounding Light. Then the Light of NRNHY will flow in the connection between them, between all these souls. The Creator will sustain this whole NRNHY by being in the internality of the NRNHY.

We shouldn’t pay attention to their faces, to their external form, or to what they say. We should see these people as shattered vessels, shattered souls. First you have to draw this picture in your mind and then you can go out and disseminate, constantly holding this picture in your mind as you work. Then you will surely succeed and be a link, a pipe through which the Light will flow.

Question: In Europe, people are living quite peacefully, in the meantime they have no necessity for integral education. Do we need to prepare some kind of place for them to be ready when they “fall”?

Answer: In no manner or way is it necessary to wait until someone falls.

If we are talking about love for the other, about a mutual linkage, about connection and unity, how is it possible to wait for someone’s fall? We need to try today with all our might to clear our way to people even if they are not interested in listening to us, like with children who don’t want to listen to their parents, but in spite of it all, parents guide and direct them to the right path in all kinds of ways, words, arguments and exhortations.

Question: Should we clarify the desires of people we meet outside after our morning connection, and put them on the chat of our group of ten and process them together with our connection and bring them to the Creator? Is such an exercise to determine the mutual connection meaningful?

Answer: What do you mean by “to clarify the desires of people that we meet outside?” Of course, you can listen to them. Yet, the main thing is not their desires but how you convince people and prove to them that they can fulfill their desires. Every desire is created by the Creator. There is no desire that has not gone through different phases of development and then been filled with Light. So, you must prove to a person that it is all possible and that he only needs to create the conditions for fulfilling his desire.

This happens with the help of a special force that exists in the world, in nature. It is called the force of connection. So, let’s try and connect and then we will discover this force since it is in our unity. Let’s bring it out, take it, and use it. It is all real and in our power.

Let’s try to get together and have a workshop and see if it is so or not. It doesn’t cost anything, you don’t need to spend any money on it, just some time. What do we usually spend our time on? Is it on torturing ourselves? So, it is better if we actually find this special force, this special attribute, the special ability to fulfill our desires, to correct our state in such a way that no one in the world will stand in our way. We are responsible for our own happiness.

When you begin to talk to people this way and not just write down what they want—like a waiter who is taking an order from a customer—totally new vessels are formed in you. This is how integral education differs from theoretical work in the group. So, what you offer is not enough at all!

We see that we have been engaged only in ourselves for years and that it has led to nothing. Now, when we have such an opportunity, we must understand its uniqueness and seize it!

Answer: So, you lack the importance of dissemination, the greatness of the Creator, and the importance of that you now reveal the Creator. You do not feel that the Creator hides in the person in front of you.

This is done on purpose: The Creator, being in him, arouses a certain feeling of shame, embarrassment in you just for you to overcome your egoism. Once you overcome it, you will see that it’s all a play, theater. Try it and become convinced on the spot!

Question: How is it possible to see the uniqueness of the Creator in everything that is around us more sharply and prominently?

Answer: The fact is that for years we have studied the theory and we have felt a little of the different inner changes within us, between us. But they were external, vague, they didn’t penetrate into our emotions and flesh.

Now, when we go out to disseminate on the outside, we begin seriously to grasp their influence upon us, our influence on the others, and with this, we prepare ourselves for a sharper and more real feeling of the Creator.

Listen to what our friends say about their impressions and excitement about dissemination; how before going out before any person, they need to prepare themselves internally in order to discover Him. This is most imperative! Otherwise, nothing will succeed for them. Here they feel that they need to connect with the group, they need to read some piece before they begin the work with another person, and they need to direct themselves in the right way.

Each one requires that the unity of the group will be within him, that the Creator will be in the unity of the group in order to coordinate all this within him, that this power of the Creator passes through the group and through him, that he will be able to direct this to the person, and that he will immediately receive all that he wants to convey to him, even without words.

They see firsthand how this happens because all of us exchange energy between us. Our verbal communication is only external. In every circumstance within, in all of our structure, we become spiritual Kelim, vessels: my desire, the foreign desire, and the Light between us, which I can convey to another, to become a conductor of the Light. Therefore we are called “conduits,” pipes, for conducting the upper Light to all people.

If you sit in one place, nothing will come to you. Go out and start working with people, then you will see firsthand actively and sharply what happens.

Question: What is our free choice? It seems to me that you are explaining it differently now.

Answer: Free choice changes according to every state, every level, on condition that we advance. However, it is necessary to understand that only we have free choice and not the Creator, for (Psalms 148:6) “He has made a law which shall not pass.” The Light is found at absolute rest. However, on the other hand, for all of the substance of creation, for all the nations of the world, there is no free choice.

Therefore, when we look at seven billion human beings, at their relationship toward us, it is possible to understand that the Creator organizes all of the substance of desire according to how it is revealed: all of the reactions that we encounter and all the difficulties and the hatred that is aroused. This is the Aviut (thickness) of the desire with which we need to work from the easiest to more and more difficult.

It is not necessary to expect any changes from them. All that will happen to them is the result of our work, the reaction to what we do with them, and through work with people and the expectation of their reaction, we begin to converse with the Creator, to see nature. The Creator is found within people, as it is written, (Kings II 4:13) “I dwell within my people,” and He responds to our actions. In this form, He wants to teach us what our substance is, the Aviut of the desire.

All the levels of our desire are not found in us but rather in the masses of people and in all levels of nature: the still, the vegetative, and the animate. If you begin to work with them, then you will feel that all this is yours! The Creator is found within all of this desire and wants you to learn what He is giving you, and you are that point that needs to link, to connect to itself the whole Aviut of desire, all nine of His lower Sefirot.

The Nukva is left with one point of Keter in the world of Atzilut, and all her nine lower Sefirot are found below. All of her work is to gradually raise her nine lower Sefirot that are found in the worlds of BYA and world of Atzilut and become the same as Zeir Anpin, like the Creator, so that they will be face to face (Panim be Panim) with one Keter. That is how she reaches her completion of correction.

Therefore, as a result of this work, we begin to discover the force that stands behind the entire world, all seven billion people. Within each one of them is concealed an infinite desire to receive that was created by the Creator, Malchut of the world of infinity. Now, it seems to us that they are activated by simple, mundane human desires for money, power, and knowledge and what concerns them is only food, sex, family, and various pleasures in order to live as much as possible in a more calm way and to suffer less. However, after this, we discover a much deeper, profound desire in them, and this level of desire will open and unfold the era of the “Days of the Messiah” from easiest to the more difficult. However, we will also be prepared for a greater correction already.

If you look at the world in the right form from your point of view, you will see everything as your field of work that you must bring to adherence with the Creator, and every person is the substance of the desire from which the Creator turns to you. Repeatedly try to imagine yourself in a state like this and you will see how simple the world becomes. Nothing exists besides the Creator and the creature. The creature is you, and the Creator is everything that is concealed behind all of this substance, and outside of this, there is nothing.

Apparently, you always are speaking with the Creator and conversing with Him, and all of this substance is the adapter with whose help you can be in connection with the Creator. Without this substance, you would not feel and understand the Creator. You would not be prepared to maintain a mutual connection with Him.

When we disseminate, we correct ourselves. We bring the parts of our soul closer to us and try to correct them. We were given a chance to correct them as if they were on the outside.

Imagine that you are inside a black point called this world. You begin to feel the great external world that you see before you on the outside around this point. You must correct the world that is external to you, but why was it made this way? Why were all these desires taken out of you and laid out before you?

It is so that it would be easier for you to correct them! If these desires were inside you, you wouldn’t pay attention to the fact that they are corrupt, as now you don’t pay attention to your inner deficiencies.

Just imagine that all the unsatisfied thoughts in every person and all the events that take place in the world are inside you. You never would discover anything negative inside you. So, how would you correct it? If these attributes were inside you, you would just be happy with them, but you look around and the only desire burning in you is to correct them! You see negative attributes on the outside that are actually inside you, but you can identify them only thanks to the fact that you perceive them as external.

So, when we disseminate and want to bring people closer to us, we don’t account for the fact that we actually are correcting ourselves. Our greatest desires are actually in them, in AHP, since they are not under the domination of our point in the heart but external to it. Only thanks to that do we have a chance to correct them.

So, there is no other work but to provide our corporeal body with what it needs for its existence and to approach the correction of the world, which means to bring the nine lower Sefirot closer so they would join my point in the heart. It is a blessing that we see this world as cursed. It is said that Divinity brings its lost parts closer to it, which is exactly what we engage in. We don’t understand the extent to which our time is different, from the point of view of the possibility of dissemination, than anything in the past.
