Question: Can we hasten the transition of society to the integral level by trying to put it on the right track?

Answer: We are disseminating the integral message, opening courses, providing all the information on the Internet for free, have translated it into forty languages; we are doing everything in our power.

I don’t think that if we had more possibilities and unlimited resources, we could do anything greater since it is impossible to force people to study the integral method. It is a whole process and a person must understand how vital it is. He must feel that there is something here that can save him.

Question: Will people be able to feel something during the workshops that will evoke in them a desire to go on?

Answer: The point is that people who come to the integral workshops are those who really are looking for salvation. They can even be rich and successful people who suddenly feel an inner need. These friends already find themselves and don’t leave the study. However, if people arrive who are not ready yet, in whom the question about the meaning of life is not ripe to a degree that they feel pain, they usually leave quite quickly.

We are the ones who must lead the entire world to correction since we live in the age of the full redemption from the ego for the entire world for every human being. This is why we discover a global world and the integral mutual connection between all its parts, like in an analog system. Everyone is incorporated in one another, dependent on each other, and so, there cannot be a correction in one part of the world without being in the other parts.

The crisis is comprehensive and covers all areas of our life, snarling all the problems into one. It is impossible to correct anything if we don’t correct everything. We cannot do anything that is beneficial in the world if we don’t examine the whole system. It may not be very clear today, but this is actually the reason that all our plans keep failing. We spend billions on a certain action, and eventually it leads to nothing, although we really had good intentions.

The point is that we wanted to do good in one place, but we didn’t take into account all the other things that are connected to it because we don’t have an integral perspective. We look at some small part and we think that this is it! But, in fact, there are threads on the reverse side of the picture that we want to correct that tie it to endless other things. However, we don’t see them! So we make efforts to correct this picture, but everything disappears as if into a bottomless pit, as if water seeping into sand without causing any positive results.

This happens in all areas: in politics, in education, in the family, in ecology, and even when it comes to man, himself, who breaks down more and more. However, we cannot correct anything. We begin to deal with one problem, leap to the next and to a third one, and then everything falls apart and disintegrates like decayed, rotted tissue. This is the state the world is in now. People really do want to correct it, but they despair of their attempts since they lack the integral perspective that allows them to see how everything is connected.

We must correct ourselves since the moment we see how everything is connected, we will be able to convey the force of correction through us. We don’t need anything but that. First, we regarded the entire world linearly, dealt directly with every problem and succeeded, but now it doesn’t work anymore. We lack the integral perspective, the integral sense! This is what we teach in the integral courses so that everyone will be able to see the real picture.

We will see a different world, the inner connections that are concealed behind the external picture of the world, all the intricate tangled webs, our mutual interdependence on one another, and then we will begin to attain the wisdom, the knowledge, and the thought of creation that is in every part of reality. This is called the illumination of the Shechina, the revelation of the Shechina, when we see how everything that breathes is mutually connected and depends on each other. The whole world undulates like waves of the sea carrying great masses of information, intentions, thoughts, and the idea of how everything is interconnected.

We must actually convey all this to people and it all goes through us. Thus, they will improve their lives in this world during the seventy years that they are given. They will connect to the spiritual world and will attain the Light through their connection with us, each according to his level of development. All the differences will exist only until the end of correction, and then they all will connect into one general circle and become one whole.

Question: How can my work with the world change me in a way that I eventually attain the Creator?

Answer: It is very simple. I have already explained it many times.

Let’s say that we aspire to rise to the Creator, to the property of bestowal. We cannot address the Creator solely for our own sake, even if we ask for the property of bestowal to be granted to us. “Give me the quality of bestowal! Correct me!” Why? It sounds as if you are blaming the Creator for making you “bad” and now you are asking Him: “Correct what you did!”

There are very subtle nuances here. Remember, we cannot address the Creator with our personal requests. Our demand has to be general and come from all friends. Only when we try to unite in a group and create common properties between us can we address the Creator by asking Him to manifest in us. Our appeal to Him is called MAN and His answer to us is called MAD.

But even if we receive something in return, it will be only a slight sensation of spirituality called Galgalta ve Eynaim or Hafetz Hesed (one who doesn’t desire anything for one’s own sake), nothing more!

In order to truly sense spirituality and elicit the upper force, we don’t need desires of our own, but rather the desires of our neighbors. Otherwise, our demand for altruistic properties will be just an egoistic act.

“Why do you need altruistic qualities? Be happy with the way I created you!” If one wants to rise above one’s nature, one shouldn’t request to alter it.

Think about it and try to “digest” these states internally. If we justify the King, then we validate everything He does to us, even if He imprisons us. If we don’t approve of the King, it means that our egoism is screaming in us and that we judge everything through our own states.

Therefore, we should address the Creator all together in order to truly reveal the Creator instead of praying just for ourselves. If we do so, we’ll acquire a “small addition,” seven billion people, the entire humanity.

If we take care of the others as if they were our children, then we’ll start to feel them. As soon as our influence on them begins, their reaction will suddenly become clear to us. We’ll start caring about them. We’ll understand and feel them as if they were our children. We’ll realize what’s good and what’s bad for them since we’ll feel their internal pain.

We’ll sense their reaction, their demand, their MAN for salvation and unity that will be directed to us.

We are incapable of doing it on our own. Then again, can they really unite and become one whole even though they are not a Kabbalistic group? They don’t know anything nor do they want to study since they don’t have any predisposition for it.

In order to connect internally, they need the Upper Light, the Creator. MAD will transition through us to them. They will sense It because while educating them, we will become a source of energy for them. We serve as a transitional link for them.

Question: Suppose that the integral society is formed as a new entity. However, we cannot speak about the structure of Adam HaRishon, because it is not yet a spiritual structure.

Answer: This is a spiritual structure because people are gathered together for unity above their ego. They haven’t just become the bearers of some idea; rather, they are a living embodiment of the higher force that awakens them. They understand that in order to survive, to reach a new world, a new society, a new understanding, a new comprehension, they must rise above their ego which today kills them and pushes them towards the black abyss.

Thus, a new type of society is taking shape with us which will not only constitute one social, political, and economic whole, but also a single spiritual whole, something that has never existed in the history of humanity.

Interestingly, the small specks integrated into the overall general fabric of humanity will grow and fill the entire remaining area. These communities that are located in various places around the globe and are managed by identical principles will fully understand each other and will cooperate reciprocally and tightly. For they are a single whole collective of people who are connected in spite of the distances, through a virtual connection, with a single idea, in a single force field that holds them together.

More and more they will feel the need and requirement for one with the other, will feel closer to one another, will carry out joint programs, and will work cohesively and tightly.

Together with this, distance will play no role at all; on the contrary, it will even further develop a need for connection between them.

Question: Suppose that egoism is tamed and the collective intellect is stabilized. Will this be the end of the transitional stage?

Answer: The first stage of the transitional period is disseminating the method of integral education among the masses, which in general don’t require the wisdom of Kabbalah. Therefore we teach them this wisdom on a lower level, as a system of the right mutual cooperation between people in order to overcome the general crisis.

Systematically going out to the people will create a need for a stronger connection with us. Together with this, a single international structure will be created that will begin to deepen our entry into the general public in one’s own region, in one’s own nation, in one’s own continent. In other words, surrounding each group or several groups who all speak the same language, a space will be created where they will “gather” among the common people. So gradually they will grow.

All the rest of the structures that humanity has accrued throughout the course of its egoistic development will naturally begin to expire and will be replaced by altruistic structures, by communes. People will work only in order to live rationally, normally, without wasting time and energy creating a need for a surplus. They will have a need only for security and the knowledge that they have everything required for existence and they will get their remaining fulfillment through their closeness with others.

Question: A regular social system always develops in the direction of differentiation, complexity, when a number of sub-systems develop in it where each becomes autonomous.

This system becomes so complex and grows so much that it eventually falls apart and something new forms, thus taking a new turn of development on a different level.

Answer: An integral system develops internally, not externally, because development does not happen in an egoistic way; it happens through a universal connection of a greater quality, though mutual guarantee, our mutual inclusion of one inside the other.

This is not the Brownian movement because it happens in a completely different way, when one submits to others. There is no disorganized, chaotic intrusion; on the contrary, we offer ourselves to everyone else, and this is why the system always grows in quality.

Question: Any development always includes a certain battle of opposites. Does this also pertain to the previous level?

Answer: It depends on the level that you are referring to. If you are referring to rising above our egoism, which has already lost its opposition, and it stands under altruism in order to help and support it, then egoism can no longer perform the function it has previously performed. The battle ends.

If a person doesn’t have persistent spiritual yearning, doesn’t aspire to the Creator but simply tries to be saved from suffering, then, from the start, it is not worthwhile to tell him about the evil inclination, about the ego. We must first  engage him in activities that develop and expand his absorptive Kli, his perception, understanding, feeling and capacity for inquiry.

It is as if he were expanded from within, and some kind of empty space is created there that begins to be filled with all kinds of new observations and definitions: the group, me, and all our relationships.

Then, there is something to talk about. The person is included in this picture, within the general plan, and already begins to work. If you just explain to him about the nature of our ego theoretically, then the person will be bored and dry up. He must first feel in his heart, and after that, this passes to the brain. The brain is a good addition to the heart that serves it. It is said that “the heart understands.” Otherwise, the learning remains like a dry, abstract theory.

But it is possible to teach about phenomena that will be discovered later on condition that we are equipped with mutual Arvut, and Arvut is possible not only among Kabbalists, but also among regular people as, for example, in an army or among mountain climbers, and certainly this is not spiritual Arvut yet, but this is somewhat like it.

Don’t we become guarantors with each other through the bank, or through an insurance or pension plan? Everyone in the nation is a guarantor for everyone else to some extent. These systems already exist in order to prepare us for entry into Arvut.

We once lived in a cave like one big family, and later this family began to scatter. Its parts lost the connection between them and didn’t feel close. Therefore, another social connection was inserted and added between them. This is also Arvut, only it isn’t on the same level as it is with Kabbalists. However, it also serves the advancement and correction of the world.

People are in connection with each other, even though it is egoistic. Everyone in the world is a servant of the Creator whether they want this or not. We came out of a natural, instinctive, familial, connection between us, but instead we created a new linkage: commerce, reciprocal services. Some people are ill and others are doctors. Some need shoes, and others work as shoemakers, and so forth. This is as it is written, “Go and make a living from one another.”

The livelihood through which we are linked with each other is a correction of the shattering. I repair shoes for you, and you sew clothes for me. We already are found in Arvut with this, even though this is to a small degree. Through the thousands of years of the evolution of its shattering, humanity is approaching a threshold where it must consciously enter into Arvut. However, before this, we already have advanced and approached Arvut on the still, vegetative, and animate levels.

This shows the greatness of this concept. We are only in Arvut all the time, and we build and measure ourselves according to this, consciously or not.

According to the Kabbalistic method, it’s possible to achieve correction of the world only through education because with coercion nothing will change. Every person must enter into a unique system of re-education.

We have reached such a state that people can already begin to recognize the need for a change in their nature, because it’s specifically our nature that is the cause of all the problems, including the global, ecological, and climate problems. This must be explained to everyone in all kinds of ways, beginning with the masses that suffer the most because they are more sensitive to changes of their condition and are ready to listen to how to change it.

Therefore our mission is, first and foremost, to show everyone that the world has reached the extreme point of its egoistic development, has passed this point and is gradually beginning to deteriorate. Such a movement is inevitable, it doesn’t depend on us as we are activated by the internal program of creation and with every day that passes humanity will feel more and more that the world is collapsing like a house of cards.

Second, we must explain that the ego is the cause of all of our problems and suffering. Together with this, the problem is not in the nature of the still, vegetative, and animate, rather only in the human, in his constant movement towards himself, in an aspiration to improve his personal state at the expense of others and even to the detriment of others. This is basically the discovery of the reason for our descent.

We must show that even though the fall is inevitable, it can be controlled and managed by us if we rise above our nature and look at it from the side. Precisely in order to understand this we were given intelligence. Many agree with this, yet they cannot understand in what manner it is possible to change ourselves. And in truth it’s very difficult for us to change and it’s impossible for individuals to do this at all.

Therefore we don’t disagree with people who say: “This is basically utopian. It would be better for us to begin to be involved with something more realistic.” But instead of fleeing from this, in spite of it all, it’s necessary to examine whether this is utopian or not; there is no other possibility.

There are two ways before us, even though one of them, representing the continuation of the existence of the egoistic paradigm, is not the way at all. We are simply pushed from behind through suffering, fleeing from this in all directions, like someone who is sick who runs from one doctor to another, from one treatment to another. First he goes to doctors, after that to all kinds of healers, after that to a fortune teller, and in the end nothing is left.

We must show people that there is no reason to go in a direction like this, from the start it is doomed to failure. This is a dead end in which much suffering and many problems accumulate, including the possibilities of a third and fourth world war, where a pitiful remnant of humanity will realize the hopelessness of this dead end and will agree to change its nature.

And the second way is the way of awareness that we not only can, but also must change our nature with the help of the force that is discovered in our connection. If we at least yearn for unity, even with egoistic intentions, we will begin to feel within our artificial unity some kind of group force.

This is a unity between equals who yearn to exit themselves, and not just those who want to gather together. For you see that there are many revolutionary unions in the world and likewise various groups who simply gather together and feel the power of their unity. But this is the power of the total connection of all. Whereas here we are talking about our rising above ourselves for the sake of our common unity, melting, disappearing into it, and becoming one inclusive whole.

Question: How can you possible to explain to someone that our lack of balance with nature can affect the biosphere, for example?

Answer: All of the universe is one system! The world is global; all the systems are interconnected in it. When you ask how each one of us influences the natural environment or causes a tsunami through his negative thoughts, you are going to the level of the person who says: “Explain to me why there was an earthquake in the ocean, why did a wave come and cover everyone?” Certainly we cannot show this to him.

How can we approach people to show them everything? I am in a quandary myself. Therefore it is better to approach them from another side.

When we look at society, we see how it’s beginning to suffer, how the former middle class is gradually disappearing by descending to the lower class, and the lower class is already below the poverty line. It’s to these people that we turn.

They are not interested in high matters even though they may be educated people; rather, it’s a normal, quiet, and calm existence that interests them. Life has beaten them so much that the ego has narrowed their field of vision to a minimal state: “Give us….” We have internalized such admiration and respect for America, while there are 43 million Americans who are waiting for only one thing: to eat a free bowl of warm soup and get a place to sleep in a hostel. 43 million! In his small circle, the person needs everything to be okay: to eat, to sleep, to close his eyes and not see anything. People who are close to this situation are more sensitive and easily absorb the integral method that we bring to them.

Question: But are we bringing them a formula that is already too simplistic?

Answer: Why? They are normal people who themselves understand and already feel where humanity is going. And today there are many people like this! These are not people who were born in the colonies (of former prisoners) somewhere, that came out of caves, or down from the mountains; these are normal, educated people.

Question: In every system there are deviations that are considered the norm; therefore, it’s doubtful that everything can be ideal in an integral system.

Answer: When we begin to be involved in balancing the system through an integral society, we discover that nature enters into an internal dynamic balance with us. It gives us the exercises required for our development, not to harm, but to benefit us. It’s like parents who give a child all kinds of games that present him with a particular goal: assembling a puzzle, Lego set, and the like.

It becomes clear to us that nature is intentionally playing with us in order to develop us. Therefore from the threatening conditions we begin to see its subtle relationship and kind face towards us.

Question: Which problems and exercises can nature present to us?

Answer: These can be of all kinds. Everything that happens today are also exercises. They seem to us to be too harsh because we are not ready for them; we are so behind in our integral development that we cannot resolve the simplest exercises. We are like students that were left in a class and missed all the materials covered; we look at the records that nature presents to us in the form of pictures and don’t understand anything. A person within the group understands everything because he looks at the world integrally and correctly through the center of the group. For him this is a game.

And this game already has a nature which is friendly and good and not dangerous! In that which seemed threatening and lethal to us in the past, we now discover the love and tremendous concern of nature for our development.
