How Can We Be Honored with the Hidden Part of the Torah?

942Question: How can we be honored with the hidden part of the Torah? What should be the main task in spiritual work?

Answer: We should attempt to unite between us until we feel a connection with each other. This connection is our common desire, directed toward the Creator.

We try to feel our striving for the Creator in it and try to give Him this common desire in which He could manifest Himself as a desire to bestow. It is called soul.

Question: If we can only act in the revealed part of the Torah for now, how can we get closer to performing the right actions if many people are confused about that part?

Answer: It is simple. If I want to open my heart and soul to my friends, I am ready to be with them in one desire, in one movement toward each other, to unite, to merge. That is my work.

The Role of the Spies

547.04Question: The spies and the 70 nations of the world are opposed to the spiritual path in different ways. The nations of the world do not want to go in this direction at all. What about the spies?

Answer: The spies seem to want to, but they are afraid, dissuade others, and use all sorts of techniques in order to lead them off the right path.

Question: How can the spies try to lead me away from the goal? Are they foreign thoughts or intentions for my own sake?

Answer: They are not entirely foreign thoughts. Spies use your interest in the spiritual path and try to fit it into actions that lead you away from the goal: “You want to go toward this goal, but go to a different one, and there you will find what you want.”

A person must discover this in himself. It is not that easy to do, but it is not hard either.

How Can We Resist a Thief or a Robber

284.07The root of all the sins is the will to receive in order to receive, which is what a person receives from the Creator, meaning from His domain, and lets everything into his own domain, which is called “theft.” That is, he extracts from the domain of the Creator, and he takes the pleasures from the Creator’s domain into his own. It follows that he is not regarded as a thief but as a robber, for although the Creator sees him taking, his will to receive is so strong that he cannot resist it, which is why he is considered a robber and not a thief (Rabash. Article No. 20, 1986. Should One Sin and Be Guilty).

Question: How can we resist a thief and a robber? What is the difference?

Answer: We can only catch the thief and take from him what was stolen. How does one do this? We still have to learn this.

However, we have to catch the robber in order to take the loot from him, scare him, and fight with him because he wants to take everything. He already has a clearer understanding of what we are taking from him or what he has stolen from us.

Question: What helps in the war with myself when I realize that I am a robber?

Answer: Only connection with the friends; there is nothing else. From there, you will receive an answer for any state.

528.03Question: How beneficial is it for my ten if I feel that my friends have been working in Lishma for a long time and only I am in Lo Lishma?

Answer: This is not right. You should treat them as standing on a higher degree than you but not perceive them as being in Lishma because this will confuse you on the spiritual path.

Question: When a ten is rewarded with raising MAN for the sake of the Creator and receives the force of bestowal, where should it direct this force correctly?

Answer: If you have the force, you should use it only to connect friends and share it with everyone in the ten.

Question: How does the Creator decide who to reward with Lishma and who not?

Answer: Are you asking me? Ask the Creator.

Question: Of all the feelings that we have, what is the most valuable quality to accurately focus on for a gradual transition from Lo Lishma to Lishma?

Answer: Love.

When Does the Light of Bestowal Emerge?

598Question: Is it correct to say that the spiritual miracle of Hanukkah is that the Kelim break the connection with evil inclination, stop working in order to receive, and, as it were, generate the light of bestowal themselves?

Answer: Everything is correct except for one thing: Kelim do not generate the light of bestowal. We are not capable of generating anything.

We can only rise above our egoism by connecting with each other, and then the light of bestowal will begin to manifest within us.

Question: Do the Hanukkah candles symbolize the revelation of the opposite world, which is attained not only in faith above reason, but at the level of feelings in the degree of reason?

Answer: The Hanukkah candle symbolizes the light of bestowal when we desire it to shine in every heart.

Hanukkah Is a Hope for the Help of the Creator

935Question: If our main job is to connect, then what is the stop during Hanukkah?

Answer: When we fight with our egoism, we begin to feel how weak we are; we cannot cope with it and feel that we need some kind of stop or break.

If we stop and ask the Creator to help us find the right approach to the war against our common egoism in the ten and in the world, then there is hope that the Creator will help us.

This is what Hanukkah symbolizes; it is the week when we stop the war and do not run away; we realize that we need to get stronger and unite even more with each other.

In this case we will be able to return to the fight against egoism and defeat it.

Everyone Has Their Own Tasks

276.02Question: What does it mean that the Creator puts His soul into our actions?

Answer: The Creator gives you inner strength, understanding, awareness, and advancement toward a state in which He will reveal Himself in you. It is called that He gives a person a soul.

When this will happen depends on you and on the Creator. You have to do your work, what is assigned to you, and the Creator will do His work when He sees fit.
