Family – A Mass Of Mutual Concessions

Laitman_095Question: If we want to talk with the wider public about the subject of the family, from what is it preferable to begin the conversation in the introductory lecture?

Answer: It is absolutely preferable to begin the conversation with an explanation about the nature of men and the nature of women, for this provides a certain foundation. But it is worthwhile to open the explanation about their nature from a distance. This is a very serious topic.

First of all, one must explain that a family is not built on love, but on mutual respect, completion of each other, friendship, and mutual help, yearning to understand the other, and the main and most important thing upon which the family is built is mutual concession.

A true connection between a man and a woman is built on mutual concession. In no way or manner do we correct the partner; we don’t try to talk about his faults; rather, we accept him as he is and try to become someone who completes him.

A person is an egoistic entity who is directed towards self-benefit within himself. When someone else is next to him and he cannot exploit him at every moment for his own benefit, it is as if he accumulates electrical charges and then sparks begin to “fly” between them, for the other is also an egoist.

Can we exist together in peace in a situation like this? For a particular period, when love dazzles us, we are full of happiness and ready for anything. Yet when this passes and the veil of love falls from our eyes, I notice that I am living next to an egoist like me, even though I thought that everything would be for me and for my sake and things would be good and pleasant with my other half. Yet suddenly everything is the opposite. So it is necessary to arrange everything differently, not under the influence of the insanity of love that stupefies us, but with the sanity of knowledge.

How can we co-exist peacefully? So gradually we bring people to begin to discuss the complicated relationship between them neutrally, discussing them only as physiology.

They must not look at a particular family, but generally clarify what a family is, what a human being is, and this will take them away from themselves, will take them outside, since if there is a problem like this for everyone, they are talking about a general problem. They lower the internal tension between them and move to philosophy, where they talk generally and discover the nature of a man and woman.

They are similar in some ways and different in some ways. They are similar in that they are both egoists, and they are different in that the ego is expressed in a different way in each of them according to each of their hormonal and psychological systems.

After that we can go on to the next problem, the problem of marriage. Marriage is a covenant; it is a complementary covenant: I need her and she needs me.

When we understand this, it will be clear to us that the essence of our nature is reception: I always want to receive from the partner. That is how we begin to teach people the fundamentals of the wisdom of Kabbalah.

There is no provocation here! I want clean clothes, dinner to be ready, a tidy dwelling. And my partner wants to see a man in the house, a husband, and a father with everything that is involved with that. Is it possible to satisfy the demands of the partner? Do we want to do that?

Since in general both of us are working, we have children, particular obligations after work (the bank, shopping, and so forth), is it objectively possible to demand from our partner the fulfillment of all of our demands?

If we see the list of mutual demands, then we understand that, in fact, we never knew each other. I didn’t understand what she wanted from me; after all, this is not my nature. She never told me anything; rather, she expected that I would guess it by myself.

That is how we show people that the problem in a family is that we are egoists—each one of us sits and waits for the other to fulfill him, even when he doesn’t say anything to him about this. So he is constantly hurt in anticipation of when his partner will finally understand him.

This way is completely wrong. Let’s not begin from approaching each other from a distance according to the list of demands: I concede – she concedes, I do something for her – she does something for me. Even if we see each other’s lists, we cannot hold onto them.

Let’s do this more simply: We begin to concede and to please each other, we transform into friends who help each other. I think about what to do for her, she thinks about what to do for me; we begin to play a game called, “the method of mutual concessions.” This is a game, but we enter it. Each one thinks about how to give to the partner what he would now want to get from me.

If we communicate in a format like this, then we begin to educate and to internalize within us this habit of mutual connection, and as a result of this something called “mutual love” is created between us. This is not the same love where we kissed by starlight, but love that appears on a basis of mutual concessions. We build it in ourselves and then we create something shared, not “he” and “she,” but something called a “family” or a “couple.”

The main thing here is to show the partner that even though I am boiling with anger and disagreement with him, I make an effort to turn to him calmly, as if nothing happened.

The concessions are carried out through rising above my ego. And I don’t hide this in order to teach the other, to provide him with an example. And if one of the partners is not ready to rise above himself, the other must help him.

The person must transform into someone who includes within him at least two images. One image is that at the present time I am hating my other half. Yet on the other hand, in spite of that, I relate to her correctly, well, nicely, and then she sees that I am rising above myself.

We must play with this. We have no other choice for saving the family. The ego has grown. If not now, then in a few more years people will not be able to live with each other. They must enter into this image and experience it so that an impression from it will remain in them.

After that we give them homework: until tomorrow don’t say a bad word to the other, rather smile and get pleasure from the inner ascent and the struggle with oneself.

After all they get pleasure, first of all from subduing themselves; and second, through this they connect with others, which gives them additional pleasure that they didn’t experience before. In other words, they get a spiritual component here.

A family is a mass that is created following mutual concessions, and as a result of them they produce a connection that is called “love.” Love is created only when we understand how it is up to us to complete each other and try to do that.

What does “And you shall love your friend as yourself” mean? I take her desires and try to fulfill them. She takes my desires and tries to fulfill me.

But we don’t talk to them about this; rather, we simply bring them to mutual concessions, to actions according to the wisdom of Kabbalah in the framework of the family.

Gradually our former nature disappears somewhere inside and on it is built a layer of a new mutual relationship with each other, which becomes our common achievement, a possession, a family treasure. After that, from it love is born. This is called true love: “And you shall love your friend as yourself.”

Don’t Dig A Pit For Another Person

laitman_202_0At a particular stage of development, humanity finally gets the opportunity to understand his evil egoistic, lowly nature. If we look at it closely, it seems that there is nothing good in us. We perform even the loftiest and most generous deeds with a single goal of exploiting others.

This also happens regarding our beloved children; we do everything only for our own benefit and pleasure. A person is such a great egoist that he acts solely and only in one direction, for himself. He is not capable of performing any other action. The question is, why did nature create us like this?

First of all, it is up to us to be aware of our place in the enormous mechanism of creation. We are found in it like little children who don’t understand what they are doing on this Earth, which is very small in relation to the dimensions of the infinite universe. This Earth is like our children’s room where we break everything like naughty children whose parents left them unattended.

And we suddenly remember that outside of this room there is still a big house and as it seems, the parents are the ones who created us. Nature is not a blind and wild environment because it cannot be that this world appeared by itself and by chance. It seems that there are laws in it that we must study and feel, changing somehow.

The time has come for us to stop running wild like little children, fighting among ourselves all the time. Come, let’s at least stop for a moment and cease quarreling like tenants living in the same apartment. Instead we should see things with a broader view, looking around and seeing what is happening. Maybe we will succeed in finding more meaning in our lives than we do now?

After all, we are suffering from the conflicts between us and don’t see anything good in this life. This question occupies humanity more and more and requires thought. Maybe the time has come to abandon the arrogance and hatred that are not beneficial to anyone?

This is a typical feature of our time. If previously someone thought that he could attain everything through force and dominate the entire world like Genghis Khan, Julius Caesar, Alexander of Macedon, Pharaoh, or Nebuchadnezzar, in our time there are no more great dictators, neither Hitler nor Stalin.

The person of today sees that there is nothing eternal in the world and that everything is over very rapidly. So there is no reason to waste the life that is given to us only once. The person subconsciously reaches conclusions like these and enters into despair.

And yet deep at the bottom of this despair there is a wonderful pearl that can be taken; it is called the month of Elul. This is when we finally begin to understand that everything that is happening is for teaching us something. After such a discovery we already begin with a new development and don’t remain within the mutual conflicts that draw in entire nations. Instead we rise to another level of existence, a sublime level.

The month of Elul is designed for renewed, decisive thinking about our lives. We must feel our present state as intolerable and understand that there cannot be anything else with our egoistic nature. It is up to us to see ourselves in the framework of this enormous and comprehensive nature that is pure and exalted, completely perfect and infinite, and then we will be shocked by our state.

How can it be that a human being with such developed emotion and intelligence that places him above all of creation is found in the lowest, most vile and despicable state of all, harmful to himself and the rest of nature? No other creature is ever so harmful!

All the rest act not according to their intelligence, but obey instincts that are always directed towards the best possible situations. Therefore an animal doesn’t err. The smallest kitten will not fall from a height because it protects itself instinctively, whereas a small child can fall because he doesn’t feel danger.

What results from this is that along with our developed emotion and intelligence we also get freedom of choice and the possibility of using our highest potential to develop correctly or incorrectly. This is the entire problem.

Inanimate nature, plants, and animals do not have the freedom of choice that makes it possible to use emotions and intelligence differently. With them everything is simply directed towards the most self-benefit, here and now. With humans there is nothing like this.

And therefore the human, unlike a cat or dog, can harm himself. Essentially this is what happens. We possess greater intelligence than the rest of the creatures, and yet we use it to our detriment and cannot even understand this. It seems that we want to utilize this intelligence for our own good and the detriment of others. Yet ultimately it follows that we are digging a pit for ourselves.

In The Merciless Grip Of Time

laitman_561Question: In adulthood, a person begins to realize that his time is limited. He looks back and analyzes how much he has managed to do with his life and whether there is still time to change anything.

According to sociological studies, people cease to worry about their future from the age of 65 and devote their thoughts to memories of the life they have lived.

This is due to fear of the future, the unknown, the uncertainty of death, and of our temporary existence. What is your perspective regarding the issue of our limited life and how should we relate to time correctly?

Answer: Time is a very concrete concept for us. We don’t feel it so sharply during our childhood, but as a person grows older and becomes an adult, time becomes increasingly more important for him.

As a child grows up, he gradually begins to understand what time is as a result of his connection with the environment. Little children and babies don’t really feel time, but the environment pressures them and places them in frameworks of time: They have to get up on time, to eat on time, to go to school on time, to go back home, and to go to sleep. A child doesn’t want these frameworks, but having no choice he is forced to gradually accept them. Thus, we constantly get used to being in the grip of time.

Then we begin to study and to work and this chases us into frameworks of time even more. We start a family and take even greater responsibility upon ourselves. Eventually time becomes a heavy burden for us that actually enslaves us.

This continues until we retire; as long as we feel chained to time by many different obligations, time is our major policeman, which constantly demands our obedience and our submission, and we must obey it. There is always the option to blame us from the perspective of time: “Where have you been for so long and what have you been doing? When will you get back?” etc.

Even as a child a person feels that time is limited. A child doesn’t want to feel that he is in frameworks of time, but he is constantly demanded to be in them and to adapt to them. For a child it is a problem and he tries to fight time. He wants to play and doesn’t want to be in the grasp of time limited from one point in time to another.

When he grows up and becomes an adult, he begins to realize that it is useless to fight time and that he can only decide how to fill it. Then he begins to run along with time by trying to do his best in the time that he was given. Thus, he values his achievements, and according to this criterion he compares himself to others: How successful he is at his age compared to his peers.

We are in a constant competition. Time traps us in its net and is a heavy burden on our shoulders, thus making us its slaves.

But after the age of 50 a person begins to gradually fade out. He doesn’t have great plans like before. His plans gradually become more modest; he realizes that there must be a balance and that he shouldn’t demand too much of life.

He feels its limitations more and more; he cannot fight time, and his options to fill time become rather limited. Therefore, he prefers to spend more time with his family and his children, to rest and to travel.

The concept of time becomes important now from the perspective of how pleasant and comfortable he feels at any point of time. He begins to live in the present more and not the future as he did before.

Therefore, older people become more like children since children also live in the moment.

A Family Oasis

Laitman_095Question: You say that members of the family should always make concessions. How can that be implemented?

Answer: You should understand one thing: I cannot give anyone any advice. There is only the correct expression of the condition according to which a family can prosper and that is if the couple constantly makes mutual concessions.

Everyone understands that if this were possible, then everything would be fine. But how can you hold yourself in this current? It is only if we are surrounded by the right environment with the right social attitude constantly supporting one another like the warmth of the family hearth.

If we are constantly supported by positive examples on TV, on the Internet, and in talks with people, then we will also begin to see similar relations between couples on the street and in other public places, and then we will feel the inner need to be equivalent and similar to society.

But if instead we see pictures of rudeness and disrespect, it will lead to nothing good. Sometimes in search for materials that interest me I switch to the Russian channels on TV and watch comedies. I can’t stand them since they are intended to humiliate, insult, and suppress someone and to emphasize the inequality between people and the negative attributes of men and women. This is bad humor that is intended to degrade the family.

I see how thousands of people sit and laugh without understanding the ideas about the family that they absorb through it. A person thinks that he simply is having a good time laughing, but he doesn’t know that subconsciously he receives a very bad lesson about family life. He sees that this is acceptable and that it is possible to behave that way and that everyone acts that way, and he does the same.

After all, we are born empty and like a computer we are constantly filled by all sorts of programs according to which we operate. Therefore, we should think about how we can create the right environment so that people will understand what the correct family life is. Otherwise, the rate of divorce will increase and we see where this is all headed.

Question: Does that mean that we have to create an oasis that will provide us with stability in the flowing current of information that destroys us?

Answer: Of course. After all, there are diet courses and psychology courses and other support courses in which you enter a group and the group guides you to behave in a certain way. You see how others do it and you follow their example.

It is the same here. But I am doubtful if a group will help here since the relations in the family change from one minute to the next, every second, and we are constantly submerged in that. Therefore, we need a wider environment that operates continuously.

How Do You Escape Loneliness?

A Basement For A Beloved Son

Dr. Michael LaitmanWhat is required in order to discover the good? Why does someone who is born into great abundance not appreciate it? You tell children: “See how much you have! How much I have given to you! When I was a child I didn’t have this.” Yet they wave you off and don’t want to hear this.

They cannot appreciate your goodness since they have nothing with which to compare it. So they don’t understand what kind of gratitude you require from them. They want to go to the movies, they can go; they want a computer, they get it; a new mobile phone, to go on vacation, whatever they want. They have everything, and so they also have no desire for anything.

You tell them that when you were their age, you built a car for yourself from a shoebox and played with this car for two years, and they laugh at you. They are right, because everything is measured according to desire.

They feel themselves on a particular level of satiation and will not move from it in any direction. First one must descend to minus infinity to be able to feel plus infinity afterward.

About this it was said in “Leviticus” 26:10: When I break for you the staff of bread, and ten women will bake your bread in one oven, and they will bring back your bread by weight, and you will eat, yet not be satisfied, meaning that nothing in the world changes except our consciousness. Even now you are found in Olam Ein Sof (the world of infinity), yet instead of that you feel this world because you don’t have the Kelim to perceive Ein Sof.

On one side there is a sack of gold coins, and on the other side there is a mountain of diamonds. In front of you is a table set with a bounty of delicacies, yet you are dying of starvation and suffer from the stench.

Everything depends upon your perceptive Kli. You are in Olam Ein Sof, which never changes. Everything depends only on desire, and desire is built above an abyss that is constantly revealed to a greater degree.

Therefore, it is difficult for our children to feel a reason for living, specifically because they have everything. Baal HaSulam tells a parable about a king who put his son in a basement for 20 years and caused him mental anguish by showing him how everyone else was successful. Others are sitting in a bar or watching the World Cup, whereas you are sitting in a dark cellar full of mice, cursing your father.

This continued until the son discovered that his father was acting from the goodness of his heart and with great love. His father was suffering himself because he had given his son grief. Whereas if you give your children everything that they want from the goodness of your heart, this means that you hate them.

Question: Does it follow that I must intentionally hurt a child in order to educate him?

Answer: You limit him because you want things to be good for him, and you are willing to suffer in order to do this. You do this for his sake so that it will benefit him in the future. It will not be good for him now, as his ego desires, but will benefit him throughout his life.

Or, you want to feel good from the thought of how much you have given him. You think to yourself: “I couldn’t afford any of this in my childhood, so my son should enjoy it.” Is this what you call love?

Tomorrow you will have to give him many times more because otherwise he will not feel that he is alive. You must build a “basement” with great wisdom and put your beloved son in there, and you will suffer many times more than he will. In this manner, you will be preparing him for a good life.

So we have a method by which it is possible to advance towards fulfillment, towards goodness, not by feeling bad, but by being aware of it. This is a very special patent. It is necessary only to understand the principle and that is enough. Then there will no longer be a need to suffer. We are not ready to go through the way of difficult suffering.

The Creator made a special system in which it is enough for us to be aware of the evil that exists in contrast to the good, in order to accept it as a tool and sense fulfillment through it. After all, we are not ready to descend to minus infinity.

A Pill Against Love

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (Theory and Practice):Love is not always good; it can cause pain of loss, provoke violence. In terms of brain physiology, love is just a hormonal process that can be controlled by desire!

“The desire to get rid of love occurs when this feeling is similar to a disease.

“Love, which can bring people together and keep them close to give birth and bring up offspring, is the basis of survival of the species. It runs: 1) sexual desire, 2) sympathy and 3) attachment.

1) Sexual desire drives us to meet with potential partners, 2) sympathy lets you choose among them the suitable one, 3) attachment helps to create a long-term relationship and gives us the strength to work until the parental duty is fulfilled.

“The work of each of the three systems is based on hormones, produced by the body. Sexual attraction is associated with estrogen and testosterone – sex hormones in men and women.

“The ability to assess the attractiveness comes from pleasure and stress hormones (dopamine, serotonin, adrenaline), which direct us to the object of desire, causing a sense of excitement in his or her presence.

“Affection is born of the action of neuromodulators (oxytocin and vasopressin); they inspire us with a sense of calm and confidence, ease in relationships.

“But since these three subsystems operate simultaneously, we may desire one partner, consider the other attractive, maintain an ongoing relationship with the third one.

“Testosterone creates attachment, and oxytocin binds attachment to attraction – so that the most favorite is the one who is closest.

“In the first months, love resembles obsessive-compulsive disorder. But a year later serotonin levels go back to normal, and the idealization of the partner disappears.

“The hormones that are responsible for attachment and reducing stress (vasopressin, oxytocin and dopamine) are produced during touching, cuddling, sex, breastfeeding. They hold together couples, mothers and their offspring.”

My Comment: The main thing is not to interfere in a natural process with pills. Education in line with global good relationships, as the wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us, will balance the secretion of hormones and lead to improved relationships—friendship, love, and family.

Harmony Of Opposites In Nature

laitman_557Question: How does one explain simply the need for connection between people?

Answer: We see that there are always two opposing forces in nature, like plus and minus, north and south; one cannot exist without the other. In every phenomenon we see an integration of two opposing forces; moreover, the negative force is no less vital than the positive.

Once there was a case where it was attempted to exterminate all the wolves that were attacking the flocks, and this brought catastrophic results. This created an imbalance in nature and all kinds of problems began: epidemics among the sheep and other wild animals the wolves normally ate.

In nature there are no positive or negative forces. The two forces are beneficial: Both the positive force and the negative force must exist in harmony with each other.

Only on the human level does the singular power of our ego operate, a negative force against which there is no positive force with which it should be in harmony. So we need to attain connection between us to use this negative force and transform it into a positive one.

Superfluous Apartments For The Ego

Laitman_115_05Ready For Flight

Question: Conflicts in Israeli society are becoming more severe because the ego of the politicians has grown and puts personal interests above social interests more and more. During the last military operation, the matter has produced a “short circuit” between the representatives of the authorities and the various agencies responsible for national security. How can this be handled?

Answer: The system has not been fixed. Achieving real changes must begin from the people and from its education. Only through social change can we change the government.

And today our leaders reflect the situation of the nation. We live in an egoistic society in which each one thinks only about personal benefit. We are not connected between us; we don’t feel that our fate depends upon unity, by being “like one person with one heart.” We are not concerned about the security of the nation together since first of all each one is trying to provide security for himself.

Moreover, many people are ready to flee to some place where it is possible to get along better. The main thing is that such a thing will be possible for them, and the fate of Israel is not important to them. If you were to give people the opportunity to get along anywhere in the world that suits them, just about nobody would remain here. According to surveys, half of the younger population would want to leave. And regarding the other half, they would stay here out of habit. And in the meantime, those who advance in the leadership of the nation are people possessing even more prominent personal interests.

Exposing The Ego

Question: If we were to support changes in society, what kind of a society should it be?

Answer: We cannot live and develop here if we don’t become the true people of Israel living in the land of Israel. This is talking about two concepts that we must approach and realize.

“Israel” means “Yashar-El.” In other words, all of us connect among us according to the principle “And you shall love your friend as yourself” and we direct ourselves towards a higher power.

The essence of the upper forcer is the force of love, unity, and mutual bestowal. We must aspire to this. This is not connected to religious or secular beliefs. This belongs to connection, the essence of which is formulated in the great and essential general rule in the Torah: “And you shall love your friend as yourself.”

Question: All of us have heard about this. But the ego has grown and grown, desires run wild and a person no longer sees anything outside of himself. So how is this old saying connected to people like us today?

Answer: This saying is eternal. From those days until today, this condition has not changed. And precisely in our day people are ready to see and discern how their growing ego is digging a grave for them. The ego indeed grows, but now the person sees where this leads. He sees that in front of him is only an abyss.

A New People – New Leaders

Question: In a museum of one of the Israeli leaders of the last century, the room in which he lived has been renovated, a small place with a simple chair and a table of a meter and a half. From there he led the nation. So how is it possible to speak about connection in our day when the nation is shaken by outrageous scandals and the leaders acquire luxurious houses? Where will the love come from here?

Answer: From despair. Ultimately we have attained nothing. Those leaders with the penthouses, their expensive apartments, and all the rest of the wealth and luxury feel dependent. That is how an ego that rises to the heavens plays with us. A person is compelled to steal; this need motivates him. He feels that this is not the goal, this isn’t life, and in spite of it all, he is not ready to do anything. He simply cannot avoid stealing, cannot avoid lying, because that is his nature.

So what is to be done with him? After all, it is clear that this way leads all of us to oblivion. Is it worthwhile to bring the matter to a new Holocaust, to World War III, and so on?

Everyone understands this yet nobody has a method that makes it possible to be saved from our internal enemy, which is the ego that pushes us towards theft, lies, forgeries, schemes. The truth is that nobody enjoys this, but everyone is compelled to take a bite out of the general pie and try to arrange a warm and safe corner for himself.

Yet in the world of today, no secure corners really remain. So security will come to us only by way of changes in society, in humanity. These are changes that will bring unity.

In the global world we must be so connected that each one will feel the others as himself. The wisdom of Kabbalah was revealed for this, providing a solution to problems and explaining what must be done. It is up to us to adopt it, and with its help, approach correction of the world. The time has come to consolidate everything into a unified system, a single family.

Only integral education and information will raise general interests above personal interests. The leaders of today are cut off from the people. And there is nothing to demand from them or from the people. Gradual education will bring about changes among the people and this will then produce people from whom it will be possible to educate new leaders.

How Do We Stop Being Concerned About Inconsequential Things?

laitman_232_02Question: Yesterday evening when I had got ready to go to sleep, my 12 year-old daughter still hadn’t come home. My wife and I were unable to reach her by telephone and I, knowing about the criminal situation in our city from the newspapers, could not sleep.

The next day, she let us know that her battery had died. How can I stop being concerned about inconsequential things and overcome my hypersensitivity?

Answer: All of us understand that you are justified. Actually, since a person knows what can happen, he should be concerned and not think, “Whatever will be, will be.” However, there is a way to influence your overprotectiveness. This is through the power of the environment.

For example, we are sitting in a circle and are discussing your situation, among other things, certainly without any disrespect, without dismissing your concerns, for this could push you away. Suppose that one of the women says, “I would go to sleep.”

Later, a man adds, “Nothing will happen. Leave the statistics alone. They inflate them on purpose. I don’t want to hear anything about it. I would go to sleep relaxed. All of my neighbors would do that.”

In other words, we instill you with our behavior, for when you are gripped by panic, you become more sensitive, you absorb more, and we can influence you more strongly than an ordinary person. That is,  you will change more rapidly because you absorb what is going on outside of you more quickly.

Whether you want it or not, you will be influenced greatly by us, and suddenly, you will become more relaxed than everyone else, and then your wife will ask you why you didn’t tell her that your daughter didn’t answer your telephone calls, and you will suddenly say to her, “I didn’t think about it. I went to sleep.”

It only seems to you that this is impossible. The environment can do everything! It is ready to bring us up from every black hole to the Light, to a wonderful, good and comfortable life. Everything depends on us, on how we organize this environment.

Do The Stars Affect Our Fate?

Dr. Michael laitmanQuestion: The Zodiac signs and fate, the topic is exciting and intriguing and not much understood. Do the stars affect our destiny; is it possible to predict it and what you can do with this knowledge?

After all, the most difficult thing in life is its unpredictability. We live not knowing what will happen to us in the future, what surprises are in store for us.

A person cannot control his life. And that is why people are so interested in astrology, which supposedly can predict a person’s character and his entire fortune by the stars.

Astrology was known in ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, in the East, India, China, and among the American Indians. And today, many people believe that there is a connection between the stars in the sky and the human state. Does this connection really exist?

Answer: The entire universe develops gradually, step by step, and the human being is the last stage of its development, the most developed of them. But just because people are developed more than animals and have such a mind and feelings with which they can reveal nature to a greater degree, they feel very vulnerable.

It is said that a two-day calf can already be called a small bull. Having barely been born, he already has the same mind and feelings as an adult bull. He knows what plants can and cannot be eaten, and will not fall from a height, as opposed to a small child who should be taken care of and educated until he becomes wiser.

If a child is not educated, he will grow as an animal. But if we give him the entire human experience, accumulated over many years, he will become a human being at the level to which he was given an opportunity to develop. A human being develops himself, and as he develops, he reveals the world.

Therefore, a human being is a very sensitive creature because he has to feel nature in a subtle way. He is strong because he is able to build for himself the systems that protect him against the adversities of nature. The human being has discovered fire and invented electricity in order to heat his home and light the darkness of the night. He has learned to communicate over long distances and invented the Internet.

Human beings perfected nature, adding to it all the amenities that he lacked. And at the same time, he himself has not changed much, and it is obvious that there are very clear limits of human capabilities.

We can improve our lifestyle in every way, but we cannot answer the most important questions, “What is my destiny? What awaits me in the future? When will I die? What happened to me before I was born and what will happen after my death? What happens beyond the boundaries of this life?”

“Why in my life, did I meet the people who surround me? Why was I born with this character, of this gender, in a particular country, and in a certain period of time?”

All this remains a mystery to us. There is some power that controls us and we cannot influence it. We are able only to make ourselves more comfortable in the place where we were brought by fate. We build houses for ourselves rather than living in caves, and we prepare and store food for future use.

We are developing that which relates to the material life of the body. That is, we use the human mind and senses, which raise us above animals, for the benefit of this animal level, our bodies. For the purpose of satisfying our bodies, we have developed all the sciences of physics, chemistry, biology, and zoology.

We cannot get outside of our body with our human mind and feelings. It turns out that we are using all that was given to us above the animal level, such as  great intellect and the ability to study nature and reveal its laws, just for the sake of our animal welfare.

We wanted to move quickly and created a car, we wanted to talk over distances and invented the radio and the Internet. But all these inventions are made for the convenience of the body and its health, either for oneself or for one’s family and children.

There is no invention made by our highly developed mind which was intended for the benefit of  rising above the degree of the animal level.  Universities, stock exchanges, and museums were all designed to provide maximum comfort for our bodies. It is sad to see in what primitive way we use subtle senses like a sharp mind and the ability to evolve and  develop from generation to generation.

We fly into space and make huge advances in medicine. A hundred years ago the average life expectancy was no more than 40-50 years, and today we are getting close to 100 years. In another 50 years, we may live for 200 years. We have the opportunity to make our life in this world much more intense, long lasting, healthier, prolonging the existence of the body. But what we can do with it for such a long a time?

We can improve the conditions for the existence of the body and for our families and children. We can answer any question, except for the main one concerning our fate. The concept of destiny includes the form in which we existed before birth, what this form will be after our death, as well as what happens to us in the middle interval from birth to death, and what tests we will have to go through in this life.

On the one hand, we recognize that all this is planned. But with respect to us, it appears as a complete accident. We think that now it is a coincidence, but maybe we can rise up a little bit, then look down and see the program, which is extremely curious.
