How Can You Devote Yourself to the Spiritual Path?

281.02Question: Over the course of studying in the group of ten, we have developed trust in our friends and a sense of responsibility for our actions. But we are afraid that what we are doing is insufficient. How can we devote ourselves to the spiritual path without overthinking?

Answer: To some extent, the number of years you have been studying, the amount of effort invested, and your searches matter. But I do not think it is that critical.

The most important thing is how connected you are with each other. When those who know more and those who know less, those with greater desires and those with lesser desires, all come together, they create one common vessel (Kli). In this common vessel shared desires, shared aspirations, and shared questions lead to the progress of everyone.

Gradually, you will all find balance. Those who have been studying for five years and those for five months will reach a state where they think alike and immerse themselves equally in the material.

Clarifications in the Process of Studying

79.01Question: The power of despair is a huge force that tears both the heart and the soul. Where does the Creator direct us with this force, and what can I do with it? How can I respond to it?

Answer: This is exactly what we clarify in the process of studying.

We are trying to study the Creator and find out what we need to do in this world, why He created us, and how we can correctly solve the problem of our existence, that is, live our lives in such a way so as to derive absolute benefit from them.

All the conditions are there for this. We must do this, and the science of Kabbalah will help us with this.

Toward a Feeling of Shared Love

938.07Question: How do you develop the need to feel your neighbor’s desire?

Answer: To do this, you need to be in contact with him, to feel him, and help him raise his desire for the Creator.

Question: We know when we are pleasing our father or mother. How can I take the Kelim of the higher one and feel I am pleasing my mother?

Answer: It is said about this that from love for one’s neighbor to love for the Creator. Start with your neighbors. Neighbors are group mates who can help you, and you can help them. And then move on to love for the Creator.

Through love for your neighbor, you form a connection with the Creator. And then you begin to receive strength from Him with the help of which you will feel shared love.

Life-Enriching Knowledge

567.04Question: The love of the Creator should manifest through a friend. Before I came to the science of Kabbalah, I had a cry from the soul. To which Creator was I crying? I believed that I should receive an answer, and the Creator brought me here.

How can I now convey to my friends that faith above reason that I had? After all, it turns out that I had faith above reason. I had a cry from the soul.

Answer: That unconscious cry of a newborn without direction, without intention, is just the beginning of a real desire. So everything will still come.

It is good that you are trying to understand this. I see how you are trying from the first questions to delve deeper into the answers of the science of Kabbalah. This is very good.

Everything will still fall into place, it will dissolve and settle. You will see how this science explains everything that exists to you. You will have no problems connecting Kabbalah with life, with family, with activities. In the end, you will see how all this is distributed throughout your life.

Answer: You try and you will see that first it is possible, and second, that it is not so difficult. Approach it gradually.

Question: But I have egoistic love for myself.

Answer: Reason less, strive forward more with your heart, and everything will be fine. Don’t over think; it delays your feelings and your spiritual development.

Answer: There is a big difference between these concepts because loving friends in the group is one thing, but loving just people is another.

Although I have to love both of them, i.e., feel their good and bad feelings as my own.

Question: We are studying how to treat our friends. What about loving people?

Answer: Wishing them well is how love for a person manifests itself. You must love people, and then the Creator will love you to the same extent.

One Must Know Hebrew

294.2Question: The Russian-speaking KabU (MAK Kabbalah Academy) community in Israel is united by linguistic and regional characteristics. On one hand we live in Israel; some have been in the country for decades while others have recently moved. On the other hand, while living in Israel, we study in Russian and came to Kabbalah thanks to MAK.

Should we strengthen our Hebrew and get closer to Hebrew-speaking groups in the country?

Answer: Undoubtedly, because all Kabbalistic literature written several centuries ago and several decades ago is all in Hebrew.

Occasionally, sources are found in Arabic, sometimes in Russian, but they are few, and no one seriously engages with them. By the way, they are also translated into Hebrew.

Our academy exists in many countries. We teach in more than 30 languages. But one must know Hebrew.

Answer: That is not easy. A person must see how they structure all their pleasures and direct them either toward themselves, their friends, or the Creator.

Question: Where should this work begin?

Answer: It does not matter where. The main thing is that you want to change the cause of this pleasure so that it is directed toward the Creator.
