How Can One Learn Patience?

294.4I asked God to grant me patience. God said, No. Patience is a byproduct of tribulations; it isn’t granted, it is learned (Claudia Minden Weisz, “And God Said ‘No’”).

Question: How can one learn patience?

Answer: You cannot learn it directly.

Question: How then?

Answer: You learn it from your own life.

Question: So when I keep trying and trying, do I at some point reach a state of “What is happening to me? Do I need to start living differently?”

Answer: No, you just change, and that is all.

Question: Do I change and become more patient?

Answer: Yes.

Question: Do you consider yourself a patient person?

Answer: Today, maybe yes.

Comment: You used to be fiery.

My Response: Yes.

Question: Does it come with experience?

Answer: With experience, with years, with suffering, with old age.

Question: So is it correct that patience is not granted, but learned?

Answer: Yes.

If You Have Reached Spirituality

559Question: Let’s say I have a spiritual desire, but don’t have opportunity because I have a lack in the corporeal world. Is it possible to ask the Creator for the material world?

Answer: As a rule, no. A person must rise to the Creator based on what the Creator gives him.

Question: But we always say you need to ask the Creator for what you want. What if spirituality has already been achieved, the spiritual state has arrived, but the development of one’s spirituality without corporeality cannot be achieved?

Answer: Have you already reached a spiritual state?

Comment: At least that is what I think.

My Response: Then you have nothing to ask for corporeally or spiritually.

Can the Essence of the Creator Be Attained?

294.2Question: Why is a person not given the ability to attain the essence of the Creator?

Answer: It is so a person will strive for it on his or her own. In this way they develop desires through which they can come to the revelation of the Creator.

Question: So does that mean we do have the ability to attain the essence of the Creator?

Answer: No, we do not attain the essence of the Creator at all. Where can it be attained? In our desires we can only collect perceptions. In other words, our desires change under some external influence. It is these changes in desires that we feel.

For now, this is enough. Start with this.

Create Conditions for Everyone

527Question: You said that friends who do not want to study should not be touched because this will be worse for both them and us. Lately you have said we must be more patient with such friends, but at the same time forces arise in the ten that tear us apart from the inside and weaken us. How can we protect ourselves from this?

Answer: You must create conditions in the ten that make it convenient for everyone to study and pray so there is a common desire to reach the ten and move forward.

Question: We will not drag them by force if they do not want to study. What then? How can there be suitable conditions for everyone?

Answer: A lesson is a lesson. In class you need to be serious and united with others.

What Do You Want from the Creator?

275Question: What is the basis of prayer?

Answer: The basis of prayer is your request: What do you want from the Creator? You should think it over carefully, talk to each other, and decide what is important for you to ask the Creator for. Then you will form a really serious prayer.

Question: Should the basis of prayer be from the group or can it be individual for each person?

Answer: Individual prayer is rarely accepted. The Creator clearly answers the prayer that comes from everyone in the group and only from the heart.

What to Ask For, the Kli or the Light?

963.6Question: What is more effective to ask for: attainment in Torah or a constant lack of it? In other words what is it better to ask for, the Kli or the light?

Answer: The light. When the light comes, it fills you and leaves you with the correct desire afterward. Therefore, one should constantly strive for the light of Torah.

Question: How does the light of Torah come to us in faith above reason when there is neither deficiency nor suffering? Maybe this is already merging with the Creator?

Answer: Hold on, it does not happen that quickly. Usually, a small illumination comes to you that supports and guides you forward. This mainly happens because there are many of you. That is the only reason.

Is the Creator Close to Us?

32.02Question: How close are we to the Creator?

Answer: You are always close to the Creator. The question is whether the Creator is close to you. This needs to be clarified.

Question: Through what signs can we determine that the Creator is close to us?

Answer: This can only be felt in the heart. Continuously feel the desire to attain the Creator in your heart.
