Respect the Friends as the Greatest and Most Important

939.01Although it seems as though he is a great person, he should nonetheless look into his actions and think, “What makes me great?” (Maor VaShemesh, Ekev).

Question: It says a person should find what he is respected for. Does it mean that I go to the group for the sake of respect?

Answer: You come to the group not for respect, but to put yourself next to your friends so that you are the smallest of them, and they are the great in everything. And when you have such an inner attitude toward them, you will be able to start receiving a certain amount of spiritual energy from the Creator.

Question: But if I cannot do it and I have to consider myself the smallest, how do I get rid of the resentment against my friends?

Answer: You should, on the contrary, thank them not verbally, but internally for giving you such conditions, and you can put yourself even lower. And then a carpeted path awaits you.

You are all valuable elements that the Creator has created in humanity because you are the closest to the Creator and bring the upper light from Him to all humanity. Therefore, you must respect your friends as the greatest and most important.
