Michael Laitman, On Quora: “How can an economic system be devised that is not in conflict with the rights of humans or animals?“

Such an economic system must correspond to the law of altruism, where we each use only as much as we need in order to exist, and give everything else to equal distribution among everyone.

This is how our body’s cells merit life, because they each receive the necessity for their sustenance, and give any surplus to the whole body. In other words, each cell lives by means of the barest necessities, while its entire nature and activity is to provide the body with the forces of life.

We should each function in human society according to one principle: to live by using the small part that we need to exist, and to give everything else in order to fulfill society’s needs. In such a way, we will distribute products among everyone according to how much each person uses and needs. This is what everyone will be equal in, while everything else will pass over to humanity as a whole.

Everyone will then achieve balance. This is how we can balance ourselves according to nature’s general altruistic law, which envelops us and acts in human society, even though it is beyond our current perception.

Receiving for ourselves according to our necessities, and giving to society according to our abilities is how we can merit receiving a positive response from nature. There will then be no catastrophes, tsunamis, illnesses, epidemics or wars. Everyone will live a peaceful, safe and healthy life. Nature itself will provide a wonderful, equal and comfortable existence for all. Whereas if we will not observe the general altruistic law of nature then we will lead ourselves to annihilation.

We need to fully realize nature’s altruistic law in our times. It is why we are becoming increasingly globally interconnected and interdependent.

Question: Several years ago when answering a friend’s questions about his difficulty to integrate in the group, you said that if he cannot rise above himself and integrate in the group, he should completely dedicate himself to dissemination because this action can replace the work in the group.

Is this still valid today? And in general, is the advice that you gave several years ago still valid today or is there an expiration date?

Answer: My advice has no expiration date, but it does have a fulfillment date. I have students who live in Alaska, Southern Australia, the Andes, and in distant places around the globe where there is no one around them, nothing.

What can they do? They can only listen to the morning lesson and sometimes connect through the Internet.

What can they do? Disseminate. Where? On the Internet. By connecting through the Internet you can start disseminating our materials, my Twitter tweets, etc. as much as you can.

It is a must to participate in the common work with others although no one knows you, and even if you do not have a virtual group, you are still adhered in every other way.

So, dissemination can replace everything. If you disseminate seriously, from the bottom of your heart, with all your strength and abilities, even if you are not in a group, you will eventually find your ten.

Question: You say that our world is an illusion. Which signs along the way indicate that we are advancing toward spirituality and that we are not moving from one illusion to another illusion?

Answer: I am searching for the truth. At the moment I don’t know and I don’t understand the upper worlds. I am simply looking for the force that manages our world. I am looking for the most sublime state I can be in, and this will happen only if I ascend above my egoistic nature.

I yearn for the lever that will raise us above the ego so we can be united, since there is no other way. There are two forces in the world, the force of connection and the dividing force, plus and minus, and we need to acquire both of them and control both of them, and I need to try to do that.

Question: Will I feel the same reality when that happens?

Answer: Of course you will immediately feel where you are. Systems of coordinates will begin to change in you. Everything will change because you will be on the level of the forces that manage our world and not below them like everyone else, and then you will have no more questions.

Question: So does this mean that at the moment I am moving in the dark?

Answer: Of course, but we are in a world in which physical laws operate and you need to obey them whether you like it or not since you are inside them. If you create new forces in you, you will find yourself under the influence of the spiritual forces.

Question: Increasing numbers of  people do not want to enter into formal marriages today, and in many places, common law marriage is considered a de facto legal, marital relationship. Interestingly, according to statistics reported in a study I read about, 70% of men living in a common law marriage consider themselves single, and 90% of women in the same situation consider themselves married. How can you explain such an opposite attitude to this situation?

Answer: They want to think that way because we educate both men and women incorrectly. Man does not feel responsible. It is more convenient for him. It is easier to live in a common law marriage because it does not obligate him to anything.

But we also know other statistics: people live together for a long time, get married, and after a while get divorced. Moreover, this happens in the overwhelming majority of cases. If they had not entered into marriage, they would have continued to live together.

The fact is that man was not created as a machine—I live with someone. Does this oblige him or not, does he enclose himself in a framework that puts external pressure on him and commands him? If it overwhelms him, he will try to escape from it.

Man was created to strive for freedom. If against the framework that oppresses and obligates him, he does not have internal compensation, which should be laid in him by education, then he will run away, get divorced, and will not think that it is necessary to be included in this framework. Therefore, the institution of marriage has practically exhausted itself today.

Answer: Why not? You remain in the same life, but you suddenly begin to feel that there is a field that fills everything between you and others called the Creator.

Instead of air, everything is the Creator; you are inside Him and He is inside all of you.

You begin to feel that you exist forever, infinitely, in perfection.

Question: How can one not work out of fear, but out of a yearning for love, for unification? I understand that both on the path of suffering and on the path of light suffering and pain await me, and my ego doesn’t want that. How will I be able to escape from this steamroller not out of fear regarding myself or regarding my relatives, but for the sake of the common goal?

Answer: First, you have nothing to fear. Nothing bad is waiting for you, you are on the spiritual path. All of your problems will be internal: by working against your egoism, you will not know what to do with it, but the Creator intentionally arranges it this way for you so that you will require Him even more.

Everything that you will feel as problems on the way are only calls from the Creator to get closer to Him, pay attention to Him, that is all. You will not have any other problems.

Question: If I myself, with my willpower, overcome some egoistic desire, is this not a screen yet?

Answer: This is not a screen, it is not overcoming egoism, but just calculating when with the help of a big desire you conquer a lesser one.

Question: Kabbalists write that the way out of the egoistic nature is possible only under the influence of the surrounding light (Ohr Makif). When reading Kabbalistic books, a person draws this force and it changes one’s nature.

How can I be sure that this is not my subjective, psychological attitude?

Answer: The fact is that you begin to understand what is written in the books, you reveal their internal content for yourself.

Question: So, there is some indicator that can show me that now I have risen above my egoism?

Answer: No. There are no indicators here, the person himself understands everything. This is explained to him from above.

Question: But is this still subjective?

Answer: Everything is subjective, since a person perceives this in one’s desires, egoistic, anti-egoistic, no matter what. Nevertheless, it is perceived by one.

Question: And there is no objective verification?

Answer: When he begins to compare his feelings with what is said in the books, he realizes that he is in the correct perception of the world.

Question: That is, if a person says that he has a screen (Masach), then no one can check it. Or are there any signs?

Answer: Yes. People who have similar qualities can feel and check it.

#Jews, Yehudi, those who are united. The nation of #Israel are those who strive for unity, in order to be as one man with one heart. By rising above all the differences, we will achieve #peace in the world, but first of all inside ourselves.

Disagreements come so we could unite above them. Each one annuls himself and concedes to the other, in order to unite. Only unity of hearts, by everyone’s care about the well-being of the country, nation, world—will save humanity.

If Israeli society will feel that it is in a hostile world, which will never run out of hatred for Jews and #Israel, it will understand that the only means of salvation is unity among us. As much as we unite is how much we’ll be able to chase all the haters away!

By hating each other, the #Jews beget and raise their enemies. Israel begets them because warring groups exist inside the nation. If Jews start treating each other well and become a single nation, no enemy will want to wage war against them.
