My Thoughts On Twitter 9/26/21

Dr Michael Laitman Twitter

Choosing an #enemy for ourselves, we give the world meaning. Without enemies, the world becomes vague, undefined—but #hatred puts the surrounding world into focus, invigorates us… how good it is, to have someone to hate?
The greatest deficit in the world—is the lack of support, willingness to help, genuine empathy. We cannot even fathom the value of such an attitude…

How To Stop Feeding The Evil Wolf Inside You?

89

One evening, an elderly Cherokee brave told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.

He said, “my son, the battle is between two ‘wolves’ inside us all. One is evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is good. It is joy, peace love, hope serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “which wolf wins?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “the one that you feed.” (Cherokee Proverb)

Question: Why are there two wolves? They are both wolves? Are they my inner predators?

Answer: Yes because each of them strives, quite intently, for their goal. They are opposite and equal in strength. Only their direction is different from each other. Therefore, it is impossible to say which of these forces is dominant.

Question: Are we mostly feeding the evil wolf?

Answer: Always!

Question: How do I switch to feeding the good wolf?

Answer: You need to realize that the evil wolf you are feeding is so that he will eat you later. While the good wolf is the one who will guard you faithfully, always!

“What Would Affect The Future Of Humanity Most Likely In A Positive Way?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: What would affect the future of humanity most likely in a positive way?

In our world, there is just one force that governs everyone: the will to receive pleasure. No matter what we do, we are constantly searching and choosing that which will ultimately bring us the greatest pleasure in the most optimal and safest way.

Humanity develops through intellect and emotions, which are sufficient to gain knowledge to better succeed in this world. There comes a time when humanity feels that it is not enough anymore, and finds itself in trouble, seeing that there are problems and obstacles. This pushes humanity toward the search for different methods, ideas, inventions and gadgets to mitigate life, to seek how to better advance. However, what we start finding is that our technologies and scientific discoveries bring us more harm than good.

We have reached a state where the development that we aspired for and respected suddenly becomes increasingly dangerous. From various harmful elements being released into the environment, to many countries possessing nuclear weapons, or toxic chemicals in our food, and even our actions toward each other have become increasingly toxic.

An inner enemy, our ego, stands in the way of positive further progress. The wisdom of Kabbalah reveals and teaches that our salvation is in developing positive human connections. Our connections, the connections between all of us, are all that we need to fix.

Based on the video “What’s in the Way of Humanity’s Future Progress?” with Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman. Written/edited by students of Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman.

The Resistance That Carries The Light Of Life

608.02For man shall not see Me and live (Exodus 33:20).

To see the Creator means to engage your senses of perception of the direct light, the so-called desires of the mind, the light of Hochma, and receive it in your desires. But you cannot do this because it will instantly result in a short circuit between the upper light and your desire, like plus and minus.

You need to build resistance between them where the difference in potential and energy will be created, which is transformed into a sensation of this degree to the extent that you can be between a plus and a minus, between your egoism and the light of the Creator.

When you are between them and are ready to resist straight fulfillment, namely you turn on your resistance and want to use the desire and the incoming pleasure to fulfill others, you begin to attain the next, higher degree.

Turning into resistance to your own egoism and fulfilling others is an ideal state. Then the upper light will pass through you, which will work for you as resistance.

This is perfection, this is where joy is, because all the qualities of the Creator, all the qualities of the upper light, and all the spiritual energy will manifest in you. Otherwise, you will simply short-circuit the plus and minus and turn everything into death.

Question: Are all other souls included in this resistance? Do I sense them in it?

Answer: No, only you are included in this resistance. What does it mean that you are working with it? By rising above your egoism, you connect with other souls in order to fulfill them. You put a barrier before your egoism and start working in the opposite direction.

At the same time you connect other receiving souls to yourself so the energy, light, power, and strength consumed by you, passes through you, and goes to them. In this you become like the Creator filling them.

The Creator stands behind you as a source of infinite energy, pleasure, and attainment. And all of it passes through you to others.

Find A New Life

232.05When a person is going to die and the sentence to exit the world is on him, the high spirit is added to him. (The Book of Zohar)

We are not talking about material death. “To die” means to rise from one state to another.

All the lives and deaths about which The Book of Zohar speaks we must endure during our animal life. A person must die at the previous stage and rise to the next.

The previous one seems to be dying for him, as we sometimes say: “You’re dead to me. I no longer feel you, I don’t feel you, I don’t perceive you.” We must also treat this state in the same way: wait and act in such a way that it will die out, become an obsolete, worked-out stage.

A person feels that he is acquiring a new life. “Whoever wants to live (to ascend to the next level), mortify yourself” at this level.

The High Spirit is added to him to an extent which he never had before. The spirit of the next step, its light, descends to a person in order to spiritually, morally, and internally raise him to the next step. This spirit is above him, like the surrounding light (Ohr Makif).

And since it is upon him and becomes attached to him, he sees what he has never been rewarded with seeing, because the next step opens up for him, a higher light enters him.

Meeting Tent

944And the entire congregation of the children of Israel assembled at Shiloh, and set up the tent of meeting there. (Prophets, Joshua, 18:1)

The meeting tent is a common screen that covers and unites all the children of Israel, i.e., all their desires, intentions, and strivings toward the Creator.

Before reaching such a state they get together and unite so much so that they can become “as one man with one heart,” so the Creator covers them with a common screen.

If someone leaves the tent, it means that he leaves the connection with the Creator and moves away from this society.

Empirical Verification

219.01Question: Why is Kabbalah considered a part of philosophy in our world? It is even studied in universities as part of philosophy.

Answer: In our world, it is believed that all spiritual sciences belong to philosophy.

It must be said that all science in general arose from philosophy. Since I am a PhD, my degree is a PhD [a doctorate in philosophy]. But if I were a doctor of physical sciences, I would still have a PhD written after my name since at one time all sciences belonged to philosophy. Philosophy is translated as “love of knowledge.” But today it is something completely opposite to knowledge.

Question: But why do so many people not consider Kabbalah a science? They say that what Kabbalah asserts cannot be verified empirically.

Answer: And they are right. After all, first you need to develop an additional sense organ in yourself, feel what Kabbalah is talking about, and then make sure that what it says exists in nature and is subject to verification and research. This confirms that Kabbalah is a science.

We explore nature through our five senses. Kabbalah says that there is still an opportunity to explore nature through the sixth sense organ, which works not for receiving, but for bestowing. It explains how to develop it.

There is a rudiment of this sense organ in man called the soul. Kabbalah develops it, and then, when a person begins to feel the upper world, it explains to him what he feels.

The Four Attributes Of Upper Governance, Part 1

282.01The Base for the Revelation of the Creator

Baal HaSulam’s article “Peace in the World” examines four attributes: mercy, truth, justice, and peace. These are very difficult attributes; it is difficult to understand them; people are constantly confused about them, but we still need to study them.

Even if you forget about them later on like at school, how long did we study all kinds of subjects and what do we remember? But this is called education. The fact that this knowledge has passed through you shapes your brain.

Mercy, truth, justice, and peace are the four attributes that exist in each of us. They exist in society, in the family, in any object. We are drawn to these basics. We always want to use them in some way, to manage them or for them to control us.

In general there is a problem here: how can you master all four categories within yourself? We have a need for them, but we don’t know how to work with them.

Baal HaSulam examines the categories of mercy (hesed), truth (emet), justice (tzedek), and peace (shalom) in relation to the individual and society since they practically work in each of us and mainly in the connection of a person with other people.

Our correction depends on how much we are connected with each other because only then will we find such a network of dependence and interaction between ourselves, which is called Adam, and we will catch the Creator in it.

Therefore, it becomes clear to us that these categories are fundamental. And if we use them correctly, combine them among themselves, they will give us the basis in which we will reveal the Creator.

How Can We Become Part Of The Integral System

117Question: What is the right action on my part in order to become part of the integral system? Or perhaps I have no part in that at all?

Answer: You do! That’s the whole idea! Now when I feel connected to the whole mechanism of the integral system, how can I act or its advantage?

This means that I am not an individual entity, but I am only a source of benefit or harm to the whole mechanism. It is just like every cell in the body, which doesn’t exist by itself, but only in order to sustain the multi- functionality of the whole body.

Question: How do I integrate in this system correctly?

Answer: We need to feel all the cells around us in order to do so, and also the Creator who fills them with His force of life. Just as there is a spirit that keeps the body alive, we too need to feel all the cells of the body and the spirit that fills them, and work accordingly for the wellbeing of the body and the wellbeing of the corporeal spirit. This is what is meant by “from the love of others to the love of the Creator.”

Question: How can we mutually cooperate with these cells? On what basis if I don’t have these attributes at the moment?

Answer: These attributes will appear in you. You will gradually begin to feel how you mutually cooperate with others, and how together, by the cooperation between you, you can bring the whole body to the form of the creation.

Question: Does this mean that I have to feel them and to feel this attribute that connects us in order to discover such a desire?

Answer: It isn’t a problem. Just start thinking in this direction and you will understand that it is possible.
