Society Of The Future: The Path To A High Position

laitman_293.2Baal HaSulam, The Last Generation: Each person who is appointed to an important position must first graduate a special training in the above mentioned teaching.

A person can not get an important and high position in the society of the future if he does not comply with it.

Meeting the requirements of the post in the future generation is complying with its moral conditions. That is, the higher a person is on the “love your neighbor as yourself” ladder and the further from his ego, the more he can stay on this level and even teach others. It also depends on his inclusion in studies, society, and implementation.

Question: Is a person obliged to take a certain course to take an important and high position?

Answer: To say this is to say nothing. This course with such internal and profound transformation can take many years. He must master this technique both theoretically and practically: to study, write works, and take exams.

This is a very serious study that changes a person and gives him completely new internal qualities. He begins to see the world as global. He sees it through others and not through himself, like a woman who has become pregnant or has already given birth and sees everything through the love of her baby: it is good or it is bad for him.

This is how each of us should look at the world. We must be constantly “pregnant” with all humanity.

Each of the members of the last generation must see the world, the goal, the path, and everything that happens only through others.

The Uniqueness Of The Current Conventions

laitman_938.07Question: How do we prepare for conventions?

Answer: As a general rule all conventions are very different, but the current conventions are unique because people who come to them are prepared. They know why they are coming and understand precisely that it is up to them to realize themselves.

Their goal is to discover the spiritual world. This is very noticeable. But it causes me a lot of tension because I must help everyone. Whether their expectations materialize, it depends on them, but I worry about them as if they were my children, so that success will shine on them.

In Hebrew, success also denotes Mazal (luck), from the word “Nozel – dripping.” These are signs of success that come down from a higher level.

We accumulate success (Mazal) above, and after that it descends to us. Everything depends on the inner need.

The Book Is A Guide

Laitman_137Question: They say that Kabbalistic books have a special power? What is this power?

Answer: Both of my parents were doctors. There was a big guest room full of bookcases in the center of the house where I grew up.
As I grew, I was able to take books from the higher shelves. This is how I read everything, shelf after shelf, book after book, and developed in this way.

I see in my grandchildren that today there is no such craving for books. Such an approach to books has disappeared from the world. Even I, a representative of the older generation and accustomed to books, lately, more and more often, read texts from the computer screen.

However, I am not really upset by the fact that books may disappear from this world. After all, I think that the world is coming into big changes and that we are approaching the notion of a “spiritual book” and not a material one that is printed on paper.

The volumes that we buy, leaf through, hold in our hands, and read are not really books. A book means revelation. By reading a text, I must reveal its inner meaning, its secret code, so that the book can begin to play within me. I should become a screen on which I reveal the inner essence of the world.

This means that a book is not pages with symbols printed on them. A book is a code written in letters and conveying through them an upper wisdom, a secret knowledge of the world, unfolding within a person. Then a person turns into a book, into a story, into this place where the knowledge that the writer wanted to convey is revealed.

Therefore, I do not worry that material books are being replaced by electronic ones. For me, as a Kabbalist, the concept of a book is a message conveyed to a person by a sage who revealed the inner essence of the world.

The sage passes information about the upper world through special symbols: the 27 letters of the [Hebrew] alphabet. With the help of these letters, a person begins to decipher within himself the entire cipher passed to him by a writer. However, this only pertains to Kabbalistic books.

Lately, our world is undergoing a big transformation because it has to rise to a higher degree, from the animalistic level to the human one, where we will begin to feel the real world in which we live. Physicists and other scientists are already talking about this. Therefore, the usual books that we are accustomed to will gradually disappear and soon we will begin to reveal the world within us; precisely this revelation we will call “a book.”

The form of a book is not important—whether it is paper or electronic—the main thing is where it is revealed. A book is revealed within a person. He reads a written text, but a book begins to sound in him, to draw in him forms and pictures of the other world.

Question: When I read a normal book—a novel, for example—I am also impressed, imagine to myself various pictures, and see myself instead of the character in the book. How is the reading of Kabbalistic books different?

Answer: Kabbalistic books are different because we see characters from another world in them. This is the difference between regular and holy books. “Holy” means “separate,” that is, through the reading of it, we begin to feel reality, which is separate from our world.

Gradually everyone, without exception, will have to move to this upper reality, to the new dimension. The guide that takes us to the new reality is called a book.

A book is not a cover with sheets of paper but an inner revelation within a person. We just need to know how to read it!

Why Should I Correct Myself?

laitman_283.01Question: Why should I correct myself and not the environment?

Answer: When you correct the environment, you remain an egoist and even a greater one. But when you correct yourself, you will have a chance, a hope, and an opportunity to become like the Creator, which means an absolute altruist.

Egoism And The Tree Of Knowledge

Laitman_112Question: What is the connection between the manifestation of the evil of egoism and the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:16-17)?

Answer: Without the ego and its development, we could not achieve or know anything. With the correction of egoism, meaning that I change it from serving myself to serving others, I use it to get everything possible and make it useful for others.

In this way, I change myself in an inverse manner, and then all the forces and fulfillments of the Creator pass through me. I become equal to Him and attain His level. This is the manifestation of the greatest egoism in a person. About this it is said, “My sons have defeated me” (Bava Metzia, 59b).

Question: So, what was Adam HaRishon’s (First Man’s) mistake?

Answer: There was no mistake! Everything was planned from the start, including where you will go and what will happen to you later on. Each has his or her own predetermined point and there is nowhere to escape from it.

The question is whether you want to attain the goal by yourself, whether you have been searching for it throughout your conscious life, do you want to break through into this state now and not in your next incarnation?
