How Many Years Does It Take To Become A Kabbalist?

laitman_567_01Question: It takes quite a few years to understand a certain field of science in our world. Since the wisdom of Kabbalah is a science, how long does it take to attain the right perception of reality?

Answer: It takes about twenty years of serious study in order to become a true Kabbalistic scientist. It may take less time, but I don’t want people to have any false hopes or illusions.

The goal is not to fill auditoriums for no reason and not to bother people who are busy. If someone truly wants it, he must approach the wisdom of Kabbalah like a science since, after all, a person doesn’t study a science in order to write a thesis, to receive a medal, or to boast of his doctoral degree.

Question: Studying for an academic degree takes five years, then another five years to write a master’s thesis, and another five years for the doctorate. Then, there is a chance that a person might receive a Nobel Prize.

Answer: Ordinary scientists are encouraged by society, but studying the wisdom of Kabbalah is different. A person who dedicates twenty years of his life, or even his entire life, to studying the wisdom of Kabbalah at least will know what he is living for.

Women’s Force: The Force Of Creation

laitman_610_2Question: Why do men and women exist in the world?

Answer: In the spiritual root of all of creation there is a masculine force (the force of bestowal) and a feminine force (the force of reception). In our world, the masculine force plays the role of the force of the Creator and the feminine force plays the role of the created. But basically, these are no more than symbols.

If we scrutinize man and woman in the language of the branches, the spiritual roots of our world, then their realization happens specifically in the physical world and they are absolutely of equal value, of equal merit here.

Moreover, a woman carries out a role of much greater importance than a man. She is identified with the creation, therefore it all passes through her: the birth and upbringing of children, maintenance of the house, keeping family life. She points to her husband what to do, because the most important thing—is still existing in our world.

It is the same in the wisdom of Kabbalah because our world is arranged and built materially exactly the way the spiritual system is built and arranged. We must only understand the connection between the parallel worlds. It follows that the feminine force is found on a higher level than the masculine force and is determining. In the wisdom of Kabbalah, the ascent or descent of creation is stabilized on various levels according to the degree of the correction of desire.

Whatever you might say, on the one hand, the world began when the woman led Adam to the fall, immersion in the egoism. But on the other hand, the world is also corrected through her. She gives birth, educates, and moves it forward.

The woman elevates the world to a higher state but by the means of the men! Thus, she operates them. So even though it may seem to us that the man is found on a higher level because he is the master of the house in the family; in fact, everything is determined by the feminine ability to adjust and direct his activities correctly.

In the wisdom of Kabbalah, this is the very precise and fine-tuning between the male and female force, right and left. Ultimately, where they work together an intermediate force results. Thus, we must find the proper mutual cooperation between us in which the female force balances the male force and the male force balances the female force and both of them operate and function in perfect harmony.

laitman_281_02Question: Do I let the Creator down when I ignore His gifts, hints, and thoughts?

Answer: Yes, although, in principle, there is no such system, but we need to think about the sorrow we cause the Creator since otherwise we will not focus on our correction properly. I must think about how to bring Him pleasure, and in order to do so, I develop certain attributes in which I can receive pleasure from the upper world.

Question: This world is an illusion, so aren’t the sufferings an illusion?

Answer: The world as we feel it now is not an illusion for us. A person lives in it in the real sense. The sufferings aren’t an illusion, either. If we fully correct our state, we would be able to say that is was an illusion, and then the Creator would also be revealed.

Question: Who created the Creator?

Answer: This question is meaningless because we don’t ascend above that level. Basically, we can say that an upper Creator created the Creator. Every level that is above us is called the Creator because it created us. This is the reason that there are many Creators, each higher than the other. We shouldn’t forget that the Creator is a force field, a property, not an image.

Question: What is a real miracle in the world of illusions?

Answer: A miracle is everything that I cannot perceive in my feelings and my mind as a real familiar phenomenon. Everything that is beyond my understating, feelings, and consciousness is called a miracle.

What Brings The World To A Dead End?

Laitman_115_06Question: Science today has reached a dead end. Is this related to the fact that scientists explore the world through their five senses?

Answer: We have reached the maximum fulfillment of the ego today, so it is folding in on itself. It is like the Hydra (the mythological serpent) that begins to eat itself.

Therefore, all of the sciences, arts, our society, our mutual relations, and mankind gradually are reaching an end. This process is not typical only of the sciences, but also of the economy, commerce, and the family. Everything in the world is managed by the ego that has reached a dead end and is beginning to devour itself.

The Destiny Of The Daughters Of Zelophehad

laitman_746_03Torah, “Numbers,” 36:01 – 36.03: The paternal heads of the family of the sons of Gilead the son of Machir the son of Manasseh of the families of the sons of Joseph approached and spoke before Moses and before the Chieftains, the paternal heads of the children of Israel. They said, “The Lord commanded my master to give the Land as an inheritance through lot to the children of Israel, and our master was commanded by the Lord to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother to his daughters.

Now, if they marry a member of another tribe of the children of Israel, their inheritance will be diminished from the inheritance of our father, and it will be added to the inheritance of the tribe into which they marry, and thus, it will be diminished from the lot of our inheritance.

Girls were forbidden to marry outside of their tribe. However, if any of them was unable to create a family within her tribe, she was allowed to become a wife of a man from another tribe, but only for specific reasons and within some boundaries. Then her tribe’s part of their inheritance, the dowry, was transferred to the other tribe along with her.

And it was gone forever and was never returned because she had a family, children, and a household there. In other words, it was so much diminished from one tribe and transferred to another that neither the death of the high priest or the fiftieth year was not allowed to return anything back.

New Life #358 – The Good Life Channel: Humor And Mood
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Nitzah Mazoz

What makes us laugh, what will we find if we learn to laugh at ourselves and how will the ability to laugh at human nature help us create a connection between us?

Humor leads us to dress up as all kinds of characters, freeing us from our seriousness. Through humor and jokes it is possible to educate and learn in a way that will be remembered by the learner.

Laughter is contagious; it lowers tension and relieves stress. We laugh because of unexpected phenomena. Humor and laughter must always come from love; otherwise, it hurts someone. An example is the use of gentle humor in relationships between couples.

It is worthwhile for a person to laugh about his weaknesses sometimes. Don’t “play” at being perfect.

As a society, we can laugh at our egoistic nature that prevents us from connecting with each other.
