How Can Israel’s Image Be Protected?

Dr. Michael Laitman

In the News (from MIGnews): “Funding of non-governmental organizations that represent Israel in a negative light is one of the main problems in the relations between the EU and the Jewish state .

“The EU should stop funding organizations that promote peace in words, but in fact encourage war. What saddens and surprises at the same time is the fact that Israel is the only country in the region, which guarantees equal rights, tolerance, gender equality, freedom of speech, freedom of religion to those who live in the Jewish state, but no one pays attention.

“When one Palestinian is killed, the news of this appears on the front pages of leading publications, and when tens, hundreds or thousands of people die in Syria, no one even notices.”

My Comment: Why is there indignation if Israel itself causes this? Jews were allowed to return to their land, to organize their own state by its constitution: “Love thy neighbor as thyself,” according to that law upon which they came from ancient Babylon to become an independent nation.

If they do not build a society that should show the world its future and if they do not become “light to the nations of the world,” in this, their existence as a distinct people and a state is unreasonable, and the power of nature (the Creator) will banish them from the land again, as it happened 2,000 years ago due to the unfounded hatred that arose in the people.

What Is Connecting With A Friend?

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: What is connecting with a friend?

Answer: This is when my friend and I are outside of our desires in a mutual connection that is called the vessel of mutual guarantee. My desire to support a friend and his desire to support me exist, and so we are in the middle between us.

The Main Thing Is Life After The Operation

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: How can we get used to the ascents and descents that take on different forms each time so that we can cope—”anything but leave?”

Answer: If a person comes to the lesson every day, engages in dissemination, and is connected with the friends, then the only thing he needs is persistence.

There are states in which a person is totally detached, he seems to be in the lesson physically, but he isn’t actually there. Even at work he walks around absent-mindedly.

A habit is very important: You have to commit yourself in different ways that will tie you down. For a person who seriously wants to advance, it is worthwhile to marry someone that shares the same interests goal and who strengthens his connections with the society. All this strengthens him, ties him down, and doesn’t let his animal escape.

The main thing is to continue. The Upper Light arranges different states for us and we have to be patient and wait until all these states pass, accelerating them as much as we can. Hastening these states changes our attitude towards them, which means that I already see the states I go through in a different light, and I approach them as desirable states.

I remember how I once ran to the operating room and laid myself on the operating table so that I could be operated on as soon as possible since I felt so bad after a car accident I was involved in. Usually the patient is brought in on a gurney and carried to the operating table, but I ran there myself. I was so anxious to have this operation since I had difficulty breathing because my lungs were full of blood.

We have to feel the desire to run to spirituality, then we won’t care what happens because life after that is more important.

Then we become like spectators watching the crises we go through from the side. We understand the descent we are in, measure it, study and examine it. Gradually we begin to relate to our desire to receive as a place of work as we decide what to do with it.

Break Out From The Snakeskin

Dr. Michael LaitmanDuring the slavery in Egypt, a person must clarify what exile is and what redemption is in the spiritual sense, and not just in one’s material description. If we are talking with people on the street, then for all of them there will be various understandings of the concepts of exile and redemption, but they will all be opposite from those that were intended by them in the Torah.

The person will not understand this as long as he does not feel that he cannot remain within his skin any longer, within this snake that suffocates him. Under no circumstances will he be ready to remain under the control of this snake any longer, even though earlier he lived magnificently and enjoyably under it.

But now he sees his redemption only in his discovery of the ability to bestow, to love, to connect and to correct all of the parts of his soul. He will begin to see the whole world as his soul that he must arrange in order to make it possible for the Creator to be discovered in it and to reach adherence with it.

As long as a person has not prepared all of these conditions, there cannot be redemption. Otherwise in what will there be redemption? Four hundred years of exile is a process of inner changes that we must go through in order to determine what corporeality is and what spirituality is, and what kind of redemption the person expects from his exile.

Redemption is the discovery of the power of bestowal that will dominate him and direct him. In that Egypt, in that exile, the ability to bestow is revealed to him. And so Egypt becomes the wilderness, and after that, the Land of Israel; everything happens in that desire; there is no other substance. Everything is done and realized in that substance; only our relationship to it, the method with which we work with it is changed; we use them with our Creator.

Not To Remain With What There Is

Dr. Michael LaitmanA person who studies and is involved with the wisdom of Kabbalah, with the method of correction, must understand that he is learning wisdom. There exists a completely new approach to comprehending this wisdom because it is received in the new Kelim, organs of perception, of the person.

We are in some kind of reality that is filled with infinite colors, sounds, and influences that are not limited by distance and time and includes within it billions of forms of bestowal. We are inserted into this reality, but we comprehend only a small part of it according to our limited senses. It is here and we don’t feel it.

All of this will be changed within our sensations. The absorptive media will be changed and we will feel ourselves in a new reality. This works only in this way.

People think that what they read in articles and what they hear in lessons must come to them from the outside. Nothing will come! The change must happen within me and it happens only to the degree of my efforts, and then I will feel that I am in a new place. I will create for myself and imagine some kind of new form of the entire Olam Ein Sof (world of Infinity).

This means that I expect that the change will happen in me and not outside of me. This imaginary world is the still, because in it, things seemingly change around us. In the spiritual world there is nothing like this “around us.” There I immediately feel that everything depends upon me, my characteristics and what happens in them.

This means that I feel how my Kelim are changed, and according to this, the comprehension within these Kelim. I research, test, and learn both this and that, and from this, the wisdom of Kabbalah appears.

So, it is necessary to expect inner changes, and not that something will happen from the outside. There is nothing to expect from the outside but only within the person. This is very important. This is because we can wait for the state to change, to be corrected, but if we are not concerned about our inner changes, then we remain with what there is.

A person must always explain to himself that there are no other changes besides inner changes and that there is no new world, but only a new comprehension within himself according to the new characteristics that he acquires.

Just One Step

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Does participating in a global project guarantee success? Do we support the global group by that?

Answer: You don’t support anyone! You are all egoists and you act for your own good.

You have to unite in order to create the sufficient group force in quantity and in quality so that the quantity doubled in quality will give you the power just like an electric current doubled in voltage that generates the power of an electric machine.

This is what the group should be like, as it says:” The King’s glory is in the multitude.” It is very important! There is a hero in quantity and there is a hero in quality. We need both.

So if you are not part of the general Bnei Baruch group, it’s bad. You will not have the sufficient power of the vessel in which the Creator is revealed.

Today we have received all the necessary conditions from Above to gather everyone and to perform the work of revealing the Creator! It is a very simple mission. I see it as one step forward and nothing more.

You cannot imagine how sad I am to see what is going on. All we need in the current conditions is to gather and to connect the public to our movement! It’s more than enough to reach the first level. But we are standing before it like fools before a wall not knowing what to do, although we have an amazing method.

A Concealed Intention

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Book of Zohar, “VaYikra,” Item 411: The root of all the sins is the increase of the left over the right. Every person has a root Above, and a person who sins increases the left and separates it from the right and creates a dispute between the right and the left, just like the dispute between them before the middle line included them.

All our actions in this world are characterized by nothing but the intentions. If, for example, I kill a man, it all depends on whom I kill. If I kill an animal, the main point is why I do it: perhaps I kill only for the fun of it and perhaps I want to give someone a present.

This means that all our actions are characterized by the intentions, because the same action can lead to a terrible outcome and it can lead to a good outcome, but our intentions are concealed. So the wisdom of Kabbalah is called the concealed wisdom. It teaches us how to control our secret and true concealed intentions which are behind our decisions and our ideas.

When we begin to search ourselves seriously, we come to the conclusion that we are total egoists who seem to act for our own good, but who actually only cause ourselves harm. How can we change ourselves so that we will really do ourselves good? This is a problem.

All our work is internal and so it’s called the concealed study. Another’s eye doesn’t see how a person works on himself, who he is and what he is, since the great changes are internal and not external.

When a person begins his spiritual work, he withdraws into himself and becomes simpler, but at the same time, he seems a bit strange to others because totally different values that are not accepted in society gradually develop in him, which may appear strange to those around him. But on the whole these are trivial phenomena.

The Angel Raziel

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Book of Zohar, “VaYikra,” Item 324: Blessed are the righteous whom the Creator teaches the deep secrets of Above and below. And it is all for the Torah, since whoever engages in the Torah is adorned with the crowns of His Holy name.

Since the Torah is the Holy name and whoever engages in it is registered and is adorned with the Holy name, and then he knows the vague deep secrets of Above and of below and never fears.

The Torah is the extension of the upper Light which can be drawn only by the connection between us. Therefore we have to create a certain circle of people who yearn to ascend above their ego and discover in the connection between them the force of love and bestowal that exists in nature but which is concealed from us.

Adam was the first to attain this secret force, which exists in nature but which is not felt by us, and described it in the book The Angel Raziel. We will have to do the same thing.

Although it seems that Adam was alone, it is actually a general figure. If we reach this state as we become one whole, one heart, Adam, we will discover the force called the angel Raziel.
