The Torah, Exodus 20:5 – 20:6: You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, Am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commandments.
Question: What does it mean “showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments…”?
Answer: There are three spiritual states, three levels: Ibur (gestation), Yenika (suckling) and Gadlut (greatness). If I sin, then the level I am on folds three generations downward.
It’s possible to commit a sin or transgression only in the state of Gadlut. In that case I totally fall from it downward through the states of Yenika and Ibur through all three levels (three generations) to the fourth level and this what all my sins add up to. This means that I lose the level and renew my movement again.
By that I lose the Light of the three levels, the Light of NR”N (Nefesh, Ruach, Neshama). But if I ascend, I receive the Light of NRNHY, the full Light. The full Light is a thousand times greater since it is the level of Arich Anpin. This means that the Light of the reward is always ten thousand times (and even more) greater than the Light of the punishment.
It turns out that I gain and then two more levels are added that bring me closer to the Light. This continues until the end of correction; an amazing geometrical progression!
