When Stones Turn Into Pearls

525Thus, are they the good gems that the world stands on? After all, in another place, it is written that they are the ruin of the world, as it is written, “This is Hevel [vanity], and it is an evil disease … and striving after wind.” The Book of Zohar

Kohelet (Ecclesiastes), mentioned in The Book of Zohar, was written by King Solomon (Sholomo).

Each name has its own meaning. Shlomo—from the word “Shalem.” “Shalem”—from the world-famous word “Shalom,” which means “Shlemut”—completeness, perfection.

That is, when I say to someone, “Shalom,” I want everything to be perfect for them.

Therefore, the name Solomon (Shlomo) speaks of the perfection achieved by the king as a great Kabbalist, a sage.

Everyone knows that he was a wise man. But many people think that Solomon was just a wise man. No, he was not only a sage, but a truly great Kabbalist. And his wisdom is nothing but the light of wisdom that he received from the space surrounding us.

After all, we live in a space filled with energy, information, and eternal movement. From this space, with our current sense organs, we catch only very tiny clumps of matter and perceive this energy and information in the form of the low matter of our world.

And King Solomon, this great Kabbalist, felt the energy and information that exists around us and described it in his book Kohelet.

In addition, Kohelet is one of his seven names. And Kohelet is the highest of them.

King Solomon discovered that we are in the lowest state, which can be called “stones,” the foundations of our grossest material world. Moreover, these stones are immovable, nothing can be made of them. It is a matter that cannot change.

But those stones that you turn from the most immovable and dead into the quality of bestowal and love, that is, when you begin to process, to transform, your primitive, egoistic desires, directed only to yourself, which cannot be moved into bestowal and love, into a connection with others, then they really turn into pearls, into great positive forces on which the world stands.

And then, from the seven great inanimate pillars, they turn into pillars of light directed outward from you.

Why Do We Read The Book Of Zohar?

528.04Question: Why do we read The Book of Zohar if it is incomprehensible to us?

Answer: To gradually find contact and merge with the sea of information, energy, and light that exists around us.

You must include absolutely all your possibilities, means, no matter what, and try to connect with this higher volume by any means. The science of Kabbalah advises how to do this: unite with others while studying and develop special intentions in ourselves. But all this is built and aimed only at rapprochement with the outside world.

Question: From the point of view of our real thinking, this is dangerous. What if we daydream of something?

Answer: Do not worry, it is definitely not going to happen. Never! Kabbalists have said for centuries that one can go mad from this only in order to scare people away from Kabbalah.

I have been doing it for over thirty years. All the real Kabbalists I knew (basically no longer in our world) were simple, healthy, real people, who loved jokes and this life. This world and that world were for them as one whole.

“Time To Gather The Stones”

531.01Comment: If you read Ecclesiastes (Kohelet), then, in principle, there is nothing transcendental: time to gather stones, to cast stones…

My Response: No! Kohelet cannot be interpreted in earthly qualities.

The stone [Lev HaEven, the stony heart) is our egoism, which we cannot move. This is our most difficult desire, which we cannot cope with, and Kohelet tells us how it can be used.

In general, Kohelet is a work with the left line in our soul. The soul consists of three lines: egoistic—left, altruistic—right, and on their correct connection we build a third line—our spiritual elevation.

As a plus-minus, right-left leg, attraction-rejection – everything in nature consists of two opposites, which, when properly combined, set in motion the mechanism of our movement. Any manifestation of life is built on the comparison of two opposites over some material.

Here, basically, we mean working with the left line, with egoism, which is constantly manifested on the part of the left line of the soul. Therefore, Kohelet talks about how to work with stones, “time to cast stones and a time to gather stones.”

Question: Such a pessimistic little book?

Answer: No way! It is a joy, a great joy, when you read this book because it speaks of states in which a person can use all his negative qualities specially created in him by the Creator in order to create Evel, bestowal.

This so-called “vanity,” this quality of bestowal, must be expressed out of itself, i.e., it is these stones that are the lowest, coarsest, most inanimate desires to transform into the quality of bestowal, connections with others.

And thus, experience the entire universe in these corrected qualities until its very last, most delicate manifestation. Because the heavier the quality you have to fix, the higher the quality of bestowal rises.

What Is The Foundation Of The World?

209The Book of Zohar, VaYetze, Item 13: King Solomon established his book on seven Havalim [“Hevel” means breath vapor, as well as vanity, futility] on which the world stands. These are the pillars and ledges that form the existence of the world, and this is why they are called Havalim.

Hevel (vanity) is the foundation of the world. From the translation, it follows that everything only operates on vanity. This is not quite true.

Hevel is what comes out of the mouth. Not even breathing but sound—everything that a person seems to let out of himself with his inner breath.

In a spiritual object, such an exit from inside out is the power of bestowal, the power of going out of oneself, the desire to share with another, the desire to love another, to connect with him with his aspirations and fill him like a mother fills a child. It is precisely upon this desire, the love of one for another, that the whole world can exist.

On the other hand, Hevel can mean vanity, i.e., all unnecessary, husk, garbage.

Question: Then what should we do? How to relate to this word?

Answer: It is necessary to translate the Torah correctly with a Kabbalistic meaning because it speaks about the inner matter of humanity, about its desires, about its connection, and its rise to the level of the Creator.

Therefore, if you translate just like that, in our everyday connotation, then the translation will have the opposite meaning.

Two Levels Of Interpretation Of The Torah

209Question: Is there any reason that the word “Evel” means sometimes bestowal and sometimes vanity?

Answer: Of course! This is how our egoism breaks it. This concept has been translated incorrectly—egoistically. Any word has two meanings: one on the spiritual and one on the corporeal level.

Being at our level, we treat everything for our own sake, and therefore, all words have only corporeal meaning because we look at everything with our earthly eyes. If you look from the level of the upper light, from the level of the Creator, then all this takes on a completely different meaning.

Therefore, any word can be rotated as desired. And the Torah, the Prophets, and the Holy Scriptures, all three books are written in such a way that their understanding depends on the level of the person who reads them. For one person these are just stories describing all kinds of corporeal actions of ancient people. And for another individual, these are spiritual actions that take place in souls and not among people on earth, in the property of bestowal and love and not in struggle and wars.

When you read the Torah, it seems to you that there is a continuous struggle between the chosen people and the Creator, endless wars and disappointments, because you perceive this story in your earthly egoistic properties.

And if you change these properties, you will understand everything completely differently. And it will happen automatically! You will suddenly begin to understand what is being said about how we should unite with each other and, having been united, be filled with the knowledge of the Creator, the feeling of eternal, perfect life.

The Commandment: “Thou Shalt Not Kill”

962.2Comment: The sixth commandment is “Thou shalt not kill.” The upper force, God, says: “Thou shalt not kill.” On the other hand, when the nation entered the land of Israel, He said, “Destroy all who live there, from the old to the children and the animals, everyone must be destroyed.”

My Response: The commandment “Thou shalt not kill” implies “do not kill the human being in you.” It does not imply anything else. Even the greatest King of Israel David fought for 40 years and took an active part in battles where tens of thousands of people died every day.

Therefore, we need to understand what “Thou shalt not kill” means. In our world, the same Creator created such conditions that it is impossible to do without “killing.” The world practically stands on murder. You kill animals. You kill people. You kill yourself. You are killing everything. So “Thou shalt not kill” are beautiful words that we can twist as we like.

The Torah means “thou shall not kill the human in you.” And all other problems that exist between us in our lives, we must gradually correct. There is no absolute law of “Thou shalt not kill.” There are even laws where a person is sentenced to death for certain crimes.

According to the Torah, there are four types of death: stoning, hanging, strangulation, and burning.

Any law in our world does not come from the Creator but from people. There is always a thick supplement to it that explains the letter of the law.

Question: But there is, for example, the law of gravity. Do these laws of physics have any other applications?

Answer: No. You are talking about a physical manifestation that we call the law of nature. It does not depend on us and is carried out directly, whether we like it or not.

A commandment is a law that is given to a person to fulfill so that he would resemble the upper nature that you clearly do not see but in which these laws are manifested in the same way as the law of gravity in our world.

Spiritual laws are laws of the existence and functioning of the corrected soul. That is, you reveal these laws within yourself.

Question: Is it possible to articulate at least one central law?

Answer: “Love your neighbor as yourself” is a general law of nature. It is on a level above what we can observe with our earthly qualities.

420.06Question: The act of creation: “Behold, I have given you every seed bearing herb, which is upon the surface of the entire earth, and every tree that has seed bearing fruit; it will be yours for food” corresponds to the commandment: “You shall not steal.”

What is this seed-bearing herb?

Answer: People must grow using their properties all the time just like a plant emerges from the ground.

We must turn over the soil, plow it, meaning wrap the property of egoism in the property of altruism and add water, the property of bestowal, the property of love. Only then will the next level be reached from the seeds, our embryos. The earth is the right environment for growing seeds.

Question: How is this connected to “You shall not steal”?

Answer: “You shall not steal” means “you shall not act.” Make it so that something grows out of you in spirituality and do not steal from spirituality for yourself. All this so that you have the intention to bestow, to always grow upward and not snatch spirituality for actions with the intention to receive.

The True Meaning Of “Thou Shall Not Steal!”

The Commandment: “You Shall Not Steal”

550When I walk on the spiritual path, I contact the Creator through my corrected properties. I am already ascending and I can take action in the upper world, I feel the Creator, and opposite desires appear in me because the impure side is always ready, so to speak, to help you, to drag you somewhere away. And now you have to be careful “not to steal.”

From the spiritual point of view, “You shall not steal” means do not steal from the direction toward love and bestowal, toward holiness, to the side of your egoism: “Hold on! Stay on guard!”

Do not steal from your spiritual self to your impure self. On the contrary, drag everything from your faulty, impure properties to pure, upper, light ones. The opposite is called theft.

Question: And in our life?

Answer: Corporeal life is nothing! Kabbalah even does not speak about it because the level at which we exist today is not considered real at all.

Question: Professional thieves surely justify their actions?

Answer: All of them can be justified because in this world we have no freewill. Therefore, in this life there is no reward, no punishment, no hell, and no paradise. I can either calm or disappoint everyone depending on who expects what.

If you end your life at the level at which you live, then you have neither paradise nor hell, you simply die like any other animal.

And if you have developed your soul from what we call the point in the heart to the first smallest ten Sefirot, this remains forever and continues to develop from one cycle to another.

That is, you are reborn in this world, reach a certain age, again come to Kabbalah, and again begin to develop your soul until you reach the full height of the level of the world of infinity. You may need several lives. But only this remains from life to life.

Therefore, after all our past lives before this present one when we only felt the first attraction to Kabbalah and began to realize it, only this one remains. Only from this one will we have impressions that are bigger than just informational data.

Reach The State Of Shabbat

294.3Zohar for All, Item 444: Remember the Sabbath Day, to Keep it Holy

Saturday is Sabbath, which comes from the word “Lishbot” (to rest, to stop working). This does not mean a strike, but an abrupt cessation of all activities, and it implies actions for the correction of the soul.

The state of achieving complete correction of the soul is called “Shabbat” – Sabbath. Over the long history of the world, we have been moving toward the correction of our souls. This is the first generation that has begun to do so, and Kabbalah is revealed to everyone.

Detachment is becoming apparent in the world today, it’s all inclusive nature is manifesting, and all for the sole purpose of leading a person to complete despondency, to the need to open his soul and begin to develop it.

We can say that we are now on the eve of Shabbat. That is, from the first revelation of the Creator to Adam, who lived 5,781 years ago, until the end of the whole program, which runs for 6,000 years, there are only 219 years left. But you can reach the Sabbath state earlier.

It is a state where the whole world rises to the next degree, to the feeling of eternity, infinity, and perfection.

We can accomplish this critical transition in a very easy, beautiful way if we explain to everyone what the science of Kabbalah allows us to do and how it is easily and simply implemented.

If we do not choose to advance the easy way, we will still have to reach the sixth day—the state of eternity and perfection, the elevation of our souls—but through very harsh, drastic, dramatic events that may involve world wars.

“Remember the Sabbath Day” means remember that we exist in a temporary state and that we must make all the corrections during our lives in order to reach the eternal and perfect state. Therefore, “remember” means “implement.” Every moment you should implement this idea and move closer to it.

To Make Yourself Like The Creator

237Comment: The act of creation, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness,” corresponds to the commandment “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.”

My Response: We are very close here to the revelation of the Creator to people. You must examine and analyze exactly what the Creator is, what kind of force it is.

This is the recognition of the evil of one’s own nature, the ascent of a person above himself so that his sufferings and pleasures do not prevail over truth and falsehood in him. Truth should always be higher than even the greatest suffering. This is what truth or falsehood is.

When can I check if I am holding on to the truth? In my heart I can feel pleasure or suffering, and in my mind I perceive everything as true or false.

The most important thing is that the truth, that is, advancement toward the Creator, toward the truth, the light, infinity, should be higher than falsehood, sufferings, and pleasures. Nothing can bring me out of these three states regarding the truth. This is when everything is measured correctly. Then “do not bear false witness” is realized. Then you know for sure that you are checking yourself correctly, that you are your own judge, your own witness.

Question: Is “false witness” possible in feelings? At the level of truth and falsehood, can it be the opposite?

Answer: Yes. And then this commandment is broken down to many other qualities: make your own judgments, place guards at all your gates so as not to deviate from the correct goal.

Question: Do I establish this control within myself?

Answer: Yes. Therefore, we say that the Ten Commandments are broken into many parts, like any law.

Comment: Why is it said in the act of creation “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness”?

Answer: It is only in this way that you make yourself in the likeness to the Creator: when from all your qualities you gather bit by bit correct qualities regarding hatred and love, truth and falsehood, pleasure and suffering. The main thing is that there is truth, and from these particles of truth you create the image of the Creator from yourself.
