Torah, Deuteronomy 10:22: With seventy souls, your forefathers descended to Egypt, and now the Lord, your God, has made you as the stars of heaven in abundance.

When the sons of Israel descended to Egypt, they were just seventy souls. It means that it was the whole Partzuf, but in a state of smallness (VAK): Hesed, Gevura, Tifferet, Netzah, Hod, Yesod, and Malchut, and seven times ten equals seventy people.

The Partzuf lacked the “head,” meaning the huge desire of Pharaoh that was acquired in Egypt, and therefore, after exiting Egypt, they were able to assemble themselves into a complete soul. Pharaoh added desire to them by making them work very hard. They began to think about their purpose, what to do with themselves and how to connect above the growing egoism. Serious squabbles and quarrels began between them in Egypt. Pharaoh was constantly between them. The egoistic force grew, pushing them away from each other. Thus, a hopeless state was created, and they were forced to move closer to each other.

While trying to connect, they eventually understood that in Egypt they wouldn’t be able to get close to each other and get out of their egoism. Therefore, they had to rise above Pharaoh, that is, to escape from Egypt.

Question: Did the sons of Israel increase quantitatively and become numerous precisely because the egoism grew?

Answer: The Torah never refers to a quantitative addition, but only to the quality of the Partzuf: a small soul at first, then a little bigger, and then even bigger. It doesn’t depend on the quantity of the elements, but on the power of egoism that was collected in it. This is called that the Partzuf now has a head.

Question: The head that is added to VAK is the appearance of Moses?

Answer: Yes, slowly the need for him develops in the people of Israel. There is nothing artificial here. They grow gradually until Moses appears among them. And he appears suddenly, when there is no special need for him.

He emerges between two lines, right and left, between Pharaoh and the Creator, as someone able to lead all the other desires.

Question: It is written, “You shall circumcise the foreskin of your heart, therefore, and be no more stiffnecked” (Torah, Deuteronomy 10:16). What does being “stiffnecked” mean?

Answer: A person must increase his sensitivity to the things he can correct and act in this direction, not stand stubbornly in one place. In other words, it is necessary to try to be connected to the Upper Light of Hassadim so that it will dilute a person’s qualities and will give him an opportunity to see the best way to use them.

After all, in entering the land of Israel, a person begins to work with his qualities of reception, which are very hard and heavy qualities.

The land of Israel is the heaviest part of the joint Malchut, joint desires, and it isn’t simple to work with them.

Therefore, it is written, “be no more stiffnecked,” don’t be headstrong, but try gradually to dilute, as with water, these huge, difficult-to-correct desires with the Light of Hassadim. Then, you will see that it is possible gradually to work with them.

Torah, Deuteronomy 10:12: And now, O Israel, what does the Lord, your God, demand of you? Only to fear the Lord, your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, and to worship the Lord, your God, with all your heart and with all your soul.

If there is only one force, one system, that controls everything and keeps everything within itself, then all our egoism should be directed to fear it.

To fear means to subdue our desires to this system. And what is so scary or hard about it? If the system is so great and I am in the complete subordination to it, if it controls everything by penetrating me fully, why do I need these instructions?! After all, everything is in hands of the Creator. So what are we talking about?!

The fact is that I must undergo the spiritual correction consciously, in a state when He is hidden from me. That’s the catch! The Creator is hidden and I don’t see that this is He who acts and controls. Therefore I must do everything by myself, that is, despite all the disturbances, I must reach such a state, such a life, where I understand that the Creator controls everything, although He doesn’t exist! I myself create Him within me.

It is hard for a person to understand this. But there is nothing that can be done. This is the wisdom of Kabbalah, this is the truth. However, gradually those pieces of the collective soul, who understand this state and can implement it, hold the Light that will affect all the others and, as it is said, “Everyone will know Me, from the smallest to the greatest.”

Torah, Deuteronomy 10:19: You shall love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

It is necessary to pay special attention to everything that relates to the appearance of new qualities in me that seem to be completely not important to me, but can carry me upward, forward, and away from my “belly.”

Exactly with the help of these new upper desires that don’t feel like mine, and therefore are called strangers, I will be able really to move forward toward the land of Israel.

These desires come to me, and are revealed in me as unnecessary. After all, who needs these strangers?

Using external examples from our lives, the Torah tells us about inner qualities of a person, about things that happen within us when we identify such actions in ourselves. For example, the entire group is passionate about moving forward, burning with this, and then at the crossroads of relationships between friends, new qualities appear: some possibilities of bestowal, love, connection, and contact. Completely new feelings arise towards these people to whom you were indifferent; you even disregarded and despised them.

And suddenly you feel love for them, like for your children, and craving, care, and awe. Gradually you have a sensation that you embrace everyone, you are together with all of them, care about them, and hold them in your arms, like babies.

You, like a mother, receive pleasure from it, because your love for them is even more than your love for your own children. After all, children are on the corporeal level, and here we are speaking about the spiritual level.

Torah, Deuteronomy 11:10 – 11:12: For the land to which you are coming to possess is not like the land of Egypt, out of which you came, where you sowed your seed and which you watered by foot, like a vegetable garden. But the land, to which you pass to possess, is a land of mountains and valleys and absorbs water from the rains of heaven, a land the Lord, your God, looks after; the eyes of Lord your God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.

The land of Egypt is our egoistic life that all of humanity leads during thousands of years of history, working and winning the right for existence through their physical labor and intelligence, as if there is no Creator in our world. The exit to the next degree of development is completely different. It’s like showing a person from the Stone Age how we live today: driving around in cars, flying in planes, using plasma technology and robotics, and performing organ transplants.

If he saw all this, he would think that he was seeing something like a Cyclops, it would seem all absolutely incredible to him. Although, the people from the Stone Age were very advanced in some fields, we can’t even imagine how much and in what fields.

Once we began to develop materially, we lost the rudiment of spiritual development of the ancient peoples in the “antediluvian” times. Humanity lost this state and the feeling of nature, when a person felt instinctively that he is within nature depending upon it. All of nature spoke to him the same way it does to animals today.

Hence, we can’t imagine our future; it is completely different. When we begin to explore the upper nature, we will participate in it with the help of the balance between the positive force and negative force. By attracting the positive force of goodness, love, and connection to our world, we will balance the negative force, which today rips us into pieces and mutually distances us from each other.

The balance between these two forces will reveal a completely different level of existence to us that we call spiritual or upper, because on this level we will control all of creation, all of nature, and not only nature of our world. We will begin to feel the deepest layers of nature that are not layers of this world.

Our world seems to us as only one very small left system of providence. When the second system of providence is added, which is bestowing and connecting that connects with the left system and moves along the middle line, then we discover a completely new volume of the universe, eternal and perfect, and we begin to exist in it. This state is called the land of Israel. This is what we aspire to.

Then we will act only through one force. Even now we are gradually beginning to feel that this world can exist on a completely different energy, not on the coarse material energy with little efficiency such as wood, coal, oil, gas that we extract from the earth with difficulty.

We will begin to use completely different forces that we receive as if for free. Through inner efforts, everything will suddenly appear before us like in a fairy tale: I wished, looked and it happened.

Torah, Deuteronomy 11:02 – 11:03; 11:07: And you shall know this day; that [I speak] not with your children, who did not know and who did not see the chastisement of the Lord, your God, His greatness, His mighty hand, and His outstretched arm, His signs, and His deeds, which He performed in the midst of Egypt, to Pharaoh, king of Egypt and to his entire land, 

But your eyes, which have seen all the great work of the Lord, which He did.

The method of correction that a person masters is both universal and personal; there is no difference between this and that. Each one must go through the entire history from beginning to end and to be in the image of Adam, Noah, Abraham, and all other so-called characters. In fact they are spiritual degrees, spiritual images of each of us. We all must dress in them and move forward.

In this way the whole Torah is gradually imprinted in us from the first day of creation to the last day of the existence of the entire system, until this system will become unified and global where the most recent souls will merge with all previous already corrected ones, and then the construction of one single soul called Adam will be completed. Each of us has to go through this chain of transformations within oneself; this is why it is said that you, your children, and your grandchildren will go through these states.

Comment: But it is also said, “And you shall know that not with your children, who did not know and who did not see but your eyes, which have seen all the great work of the Lord, which He did.”

Answer: The fact is that the previous states are called fathers and future states are called sons, and in all of them a person must still come to spiritual revelation, every time taking on new commitments, new corrections, and advancement toward the goal.

Hence, when it is said that “you are the ones who have seen,” it refers to the degree at which you are now.

A person while in a certain state, from this state can only understand things that relate to him. Therefore, the Torah each time addresses each one exactly on his level.

Torah, Deuteronomy 10:17: For the Lord, your God, is God of gods and the Lord of the lords, the great mighty and awesome God, Who will show no favor, nor will He take a bribe.

The Creator doesn’t take a bribe, unlike kings, leaders, and officials who can be bought.

You can deal with the Creator only from a pure heart, without any relation to yourself, when you can say that you definitely don’t offer any bribes and completely exclude yourself and everything that can be related to you from any consequences.

Then, you have no incentive to give or offer anything to anyone. You have absolutely pure desires and thoughts. This is when you can engage in the Torah, in other words, the real correction.

However, our world is built on a complete deception of ourselves and others, and therefore we don’t feel any spiritual phenomena in it. Everything is constantly bought, and we can’t act in any other way. If we could act directly and honestly at least in something, we immediately would find ourselves in the upper world.

Torah, Deuteronomy 10:08-09: At that time, the Lord separated the tribe of Levi to bear the ark of the covenant of the Lord, to stand before the Lord to serve Him, and to bless in His Name, to this day.

Therefore, Levi has no portion or inheritance with his brothers; the Lord is his inheritance, as the Lord, your God spoke to him.

The tribe of Levi are special people who were engaged in education of the people and served in the Temple. They were on the corresponding upper degree of the spiritual level. Cohens, Levites, and Israel were three classes, three spiritual levels that should be clearly delineated.

Question: Is there a chain of records in a person that shows who he is: Cohen, Levite, or Israel?

Answer: Studies of the genetic codes say that there is such a chain. This is especially apparent in the Cohen because during thousands of years they didn’t mix with the other tribes and married only among themselves. It is harder with the Levites.

I don’t think we need this separation today. On the contrary, when mixing reaches its maximum, all the differences disappear and the spiritual separation of people begins, not by their past records, but by their spiritual attainment. As soon as we start to rise, each one will take his level according to his efforts and achievements.

Question: Do you think that the Cohen’s genetic code will stop working?

Answer: I don’t know whether it really exists and to what extent, but today it doesn’t have any power and has nothing to do with spiritual growth and spiritual work.

If we are talking about spiritual growth, it is said in the Torah that the tribe of Levi didn’t have any portion of inheritance, apart from serving the Creator. They fully depended on the people. They had nothing, even for personal needs, as, for example, Chinese doctors who had nothing and went from house to house and received money only from healthy people but not from the sick ones. This is how it should be.

It’s the same here. The Levites had to serve the people and receive only what the public brought them. Naturally, at the level of our world, they were happy to see good prayers, good rain, a good harvest, and everything else, but on the spiritual level everything is much stronger.

Torah, Deuteronomy 10:10 – 11: And I remained on the mountain like the first days forty days and forty nights, and the Lord hearkened to me also at that time; the Lord did not wish to destroy you. And the Lord said to me, “Arise, go to lead the travels before the people, so that they may come and possess the land I promised their forefathers to give them.”

Forty days and forty nights is a spiritual state, the level of Bina.

From this moment on, the people go forward through the entirety of their egoism to conquer the top of the world with the new instructions, “You will be able to correct egoism, change yourself, and become worthy of the state that is called the land of Israel.”

The land (Eretz from the word “Ratzon”) is desire that is directed straight to the Creator (Isra-El).

The Creator seems to say, “You will reach a state of complete adhesion with Me if you fulfill all the commandments throughout the path that I point out to you.”

Torah, Deuteronomy 10:18: He executes the judgment of the orphan and widow, and He loves the stranger, to give him bread and clothing.

Orphan, widow, and stranger are exactly the desires that seem to us unworthy of attention, something extraneous, absolutely not conspicuous, unnecessary, and unimportant.

Whatever seems important to your egoism is not important to the Creator. On the contrary, what doesn’t matter at all to your egoism, is even despised and rejected by it, are these qualities with which you can be connected to the Creator.

If you want to partner with the Creator, you must pay attention exactly to such qualities and correct them. There you certainly will see your work with the Creator.

The Creator is in everything that lies beyond your field of interest. Will you find your desires there? They aren’t there! Hence, we don’t feel the upper world, since it is in those desires that can appear within us, but they won’t be directed toward us, but from us outward.
