Repeating The Stages Of Correction

740.02And Joshua rent his clothing and fell to the earth upon his face before the Ark of the Lord until the evening, he and the elders of Israel, and they put dust upon their heads.

And Joshua said, Woe, O Lord God, why have You at all brought this people over the Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to cause us to perish? Would that we had been content and dwelt on the other side of the Jordan! (Prophets, Joshua, 7:6-7:7)

Joshua sees his mission is impossible. He cannot do anything. Therefore, he says to the Creator: “You have given us all the opportunities, but they are impossible to implement.”

So similarly the children of Israel complained earlier: “It would have been better if we had stayed in Egypt!” Or as Moses said: “Why did You give me such a people?”
The same thing is repeated all the time.

Under A Hail Of Stones

546.04Prophets, Joshua, 10:11: And it was as they fled from before Israel, and were in the descent of Beth-horon, that the Lord cast down great stones from heaven upon them to Azekah, and they died. There were more who died with the hailstones than whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.

Question: What does it mean that the Creator threw stones at the enemies of Israel?

Answer: He makes people’s egoistic desires so heavy that they are unable to escape anywhere. They are obliged to die, to surrender, which means to stop being in their egoistic desires.

A person stops using them. This is his correction. The Creator burdens his desire so much that he cannot remain and somehow maneuver in his egoism. This is the end of his authority over himself.

After all, self-control implies that he can move from one desire to another, to manage himself. And when huge desires rule over him, he can do nothing.

“And The Hearts Of The People Melted, And Became As Water”

622.01Prophets, Joshua, 6:26-6:27: And Joshua adjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the Lord, that rises up and builds this city, Jericho; with (the loss of) his first-born shall he lay its foundation, and with (the loss of) his youngest son shall he set up its gates.

So the Lord was with Joshua; and his fame was throughout the entire land.

To this day, the city of Jericho is located below Jerusalem, on the bank of the Jordan, but Jews do not live there.

After Jericho fell, the people followed the Creator in everything, and the Creator gave the city to the Israelites. But the laws were not fulfilled in full.

The people of Israel were told: take everything from the conquered city of Jericho, only do not take the forbidden. And yet some of them secretly took the forbidden. Therefore, when Joshua sent his men to capture the city of Ayya believing that it would be easy and fast since the Creator was with them, suddenly, an unexpected thing happened.

Prophets, Joshua, 7:5: And the men of Ai smote of them about thirty-six men; and they chased them from before the gate to Shebarim, and smote them in the descent; and the hearts of the people melted, and became as water.

The heart is a combination of properties of strength (Gevura, courage) and mercy (Bina). Therefore, the heart contracts and works like this: from one property to another. This is how we exist.

And the sons of Israel took properties that cannot be corrected, that are forbidden.

Question: And that is why they were punished?

Answer: Not that it is a punishment, but it is a natural consequence of the fact that they used properties that cannot be corrected.

Therefore it is written: “And the hearts of the people melted, and became as water.” This means that they still have the pure property of I, but without strength, without any force inside of it.

The Kingdom Of Desires

527.04When reading the Torah, it is very important to remember that it talks only about spiritual states. If it writes about some king and his little kingdom, it speaks about what happens in our egoism, what desires reign in it, and what we can do with them: correct, overthrow, and appoint other desires.

The king is an egoistic desire, which at the moment, reigns in part of our common desire and guides us.

We have many different desires and they are all in a certain relationships with each other. These relations and their interactions, in principle, paint a picture of the world for us.

Thus, we feel that we live inside our desires, which consist of inanimate, vegetative, animate, and human levels. Moreover, in a human desire there are millions of different small desires, so-called “kings,” among which there are also large ones.

We are trying to overcome the desire that is reigning now, to capture this city and this king.

Question: Who becomes a king?

Answer: It depends on the period in history. Yet, we are not talking about history, but about what is happening inside us, the exaltation of some properties and overthrowing of others so they replace each other, and all this rolls from the beginning of history to its end.

Prohibited Desires

531.03Prophets, Joshua, 6:18 – 6:19: And only you keep (yourselves) from the devoted thing, lest you make yourselves condemned when you take of the devoted thing, and make the camp of Israel a ruin, and trouble it.

And all the silver and gold, and vessels of copper and iron, are consecrated to the Lord; they shall come into the treasury of the Lord.

Comment: This is where a serious blunder occurred on the part of the people of Israel.

My Response: This is not a blunder, but a deeper scrutiny of the correction.
Prohibited is something that cannot be corrected, something that is in an egoistic state.

Although everything is corrected in the end, at the moment, a person cannot correct such egoistic desires, thoughts, and actions that are called prohibited. The egoistic quality of reception is attached to them so much that a person cannot get rid of them.

Therefore, he just needs to stop using them because it is impossible for now to convert them to something else.

Question: What is considered as prohibited for the last generation?

Answer: Almost everything—from the smallest to the greatest prohibitions. Right now, absolutely all the conditions are revealed and will be collected into a single demand for us to come closer to each other, to love your neighbor, to reject egoism with all its four stages, and so on.

Everything that has happened before and already exists in us as given from above must now manifest in us as received from below.

This is such a serious work and serious actions that some great Kabbalists said: “I would not really like to live in this time.” On the other hand, everyone will still have to do this work. Everyone! No matter when you live.

It will be very difficult to live through all this. Therefore, we need to act decisively, firmly, and understand what is in front of us. Then, this will not be a problem.

Everything depends only on understanding what a prohibition is and how we should work with it.

Cry-Out From The Depths Of The Soul

239Prophets, Joshua 6:20: And the people shouted, and (the priests) blew with the trumpets; and it was when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, that the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down in its place and the people went up into the city, every man opposite him, and they took the city.

The city wall symbolizes the screen that surrounds the city inside of which there may be impure desires, as in Jericho. Or, on the contrary, the wall separates people from external, impure desires. In the present case, there are more corrected desires around the city.

Question: Is it possible to deduce from this a law of the last generation? What should be done to destroy an inaccessible, egoistic fortress?

Answer: To surround it, i.e., to create such connections that would perform the function of a wall, a moat, anything that can be used to protect the inner part from the outer, depending on where the quality of bestowal is located, inside or outside. In the case of Jericho, the quality of bestowal was outside.

The children of Israel approached Jerusalem precisely in that way, and when they took it, it was already possible to clear it out in a different way, to consecrate it, and only then settle there.

Question: What should be the cry for the city to fall? I mean laws that we can call the laws of the last generation.

Answer: The laws of the last generation are simple: you must cry out from the very depths of your soul that you want to be only under the control of the quality of bestowal, connection, and love. And then, all walls will fall. Practically, these are the walls between each and everyone.

Question: Aren’t these the outer walls?

Answer: No, of course not. This is what separates a person from a person. We always talk about the wall within me crumbling.

“And It Was At The Seventh Time, The Priests Blew With The Trumpets”

289Prophets, Joshua, 6:16:  And it was at the seventh time, the priests blew with the trumpets, and Joshua said to the people, Shout, for the Lord has given you the city.

“To blow the trumpet” means to use the quality of mercy for correction, for bestowal. Usually, blowing the horn is used only on special occasions, on special holidays: for example, on Yom Kippur (Judgment Day). All these cases are described in the Torah.

The sound of the horn symbolizes the need to invoke Bina, the quality of bestowal, which completely conquers and destroys the remnants of egoism that exist in us. After all, the children of Israel have already surrounded and broken through the wall. It is clear that now there will be a final victory over all the seven stages of egoism.

When a person blows a horn, expels air with his breath, which passes through the horn of a kosher animal, then a special quality of mercy is manifested, which corrects egoistic desires, and walls collapse.

Question: What is this cry of the people breaking down the wall? Should all people shout, and only then will the wall fall?

Answer: This is the cry of the soul, a plea to the property that they want to achieve. A cry is not a word, not a song, but the apotheosis of prayer.

Join The Pioneers

749.02Question: Can we say that now all of humanity is in the period of preparation for entering the land of Israel?

Answer: Humanity is in a period of preparation from the point of view of how it is being prepared from above. But how does it feel down below? People are in a semi-conscious state that something is happening to them that they do not understand at all.

Nevertheless, we are entering the era of the last generation since there are already several thousand people who understand the meaning of what is happening and their task of taking on this mission and fulfilling it.

The rest will join, there is no conversation with them. After all, if a person does not receive awakening from above to reach the property of bestowal and love, you cannot demand anything from him, he remains at the level at which he is.

The same several thousand who understand the essence of what is happening can be imagined as Israelis approaching this border. They will be drawn from all over the Earth, as they say. Not that they will move here physically, but they will begin to rise internally and gradually create a detachment of pioneers who will enter the holy land.

Question: Will the whole world enter after them?

Answer: The whole world will not even enter. It will simply connect to them. But the division into Galgalta ve Eynaim and AHAP, into pioneers, trailblazers, and the rest of the population will remain.

It is thanks to the connection between this small group that the rest of humanity will inevitably be pulled up under it and gradually attract more and more upper energy, more light through it. In this way, they too will begin to change.

The Siege Upon Egoism

933Prophets, Joshua, 6:15 – 6:16, 6:20 – 6:21: And it was on the seventh day, that they rose early at the dawning (of the day), and they circled the city after the same manner seven times; only on that day they circled the city seven times. And it was at the seventh time, the priests blew with the trumpets, and Joshua said to the people, Shout, for the Lord has given you the city.

And the people shouted, and (the priests) blew with the trumpets; and it was when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, that the people shouted with a great shout, and the wall fell down in its place and the people went up into the city, every man opposite him, and they took the city.

And they completely destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword.

All of the above takes place in the people who allegedly attacked the city. This city is inside them. They attack their remaining egoism and destroy it at all levels: inanimate, vegetative, and animate. That is, they take the life away from all desires that still exist in them, but are already separated from them by a wall and are defined as opposed to them.

Question: What is the egoistic walled city inside me?

Answer: It is all our remaining egoism manifesting in front of us as such. And there is no other way to conquer it but through a siege and precisely by actions like blowing a horn.

Question: What is this mysterious number 7, which repeats itself all the time?

Answer: These are Hesed, Gevura, Tifferet, Netzach, Hod, Yesod, and Malchut—seven steps that one must consistently ascend in order to completely destroy the egoistic intention for one’s own sake. Egoism itself is not destroyed and continues to be used with the correct intention.

I Had A Voice

276.02Prophets, Joshua 5:13 – 15: And it was when Joshua was in Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and saw, and, behold, a man was standing opposite him with his sword drawn in his hand; and Joshua went to him, and said to him, “Are you for us, or for our adversaries?”

And he said, “No, but I am the captain of the host of the Lord; I have now come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and prostrated himself, and said to him, “What does my lord say to his servant?”

And the captain of the Lord’s host said to Joshua, “Remove your shoe from your foot; for the place upon which you stand is holy.” And Joshua did so.

Question: Who is this person who stood in front of Joshua?

Answer: An angel is an upper that manifests itself in people and tells them how they should act. You can call it an inner voice.

The naked sword in the hands of an angel is designed to separate the intentions of receiving and the intentions of bestowing.

Question: How does a person determine that an angel has really come? Is there any sign that I’m standing in front of him?

Answer: Such an awareness arises in a person that this is what is in front of him, and this is how he must act. “I had a voice.” This voice comes when you really want to go to the land of Israel.
