The Unique Characteristic Of The Light

Dr. Michael LaitmanAll of us are parts of a single desire, a Kli. There are no previous properties in this desire except for a small spark, an implicit memory of our previous state called a Reshimo that is within our lowest, beastly desires.

Thanks to this spark, I can rise to the next level in which a Reshimo is discovered on an even higher level, and so on.

A Reshimo is the impression of the next spiritual state, which is completely broken. In other words, I have drives toward something higher, yet they are directed so that I will derive pleasure from this situation, I will conquer it. Even though this is a movement towards something higher, the movement is egoistic. This means that on the one hand, my Reshimo yearns for the higher state, yet on the other hand, it is egoistic. What can be done?

If the main thing for me is to abstain from the ego, I must close the Reshimo and not advance anywhere. After all, the moment I yearn for something further ahead and realize it, I begin to yearn for an even greater egoistic activity. After all, on every level the more that I advance, I am dealing with greater ego.

Why doesn’t this stop me? It is because it is not me who corrects my ego; it is the work of the Light. It is up to me to place myself only under its influence. And the more that I yearn for spirituality with even more envy, force, and perseverance, even if this is egoistic, at the same time, if I place myself under the influence of the Light, this is what is needed.

Accordingly, advancement towards a spiritual state is composed of two opposing components. On the one hand, even greater egoistic desires are revealed in me, but on the other hand, I put them under the Light that illuminates them. In this way I am seemingly found in two opposing states. Qualitatively, I am opposed to the Light more and more. Yet simultaneously I summon it upon myself through greater effort.

The contrast in all aspects between the quantitative and qualitative relationship confuses us. However, this is done intentionally so that we will accept the conditions of the next level and maintain them by playing with this level.

Baal HaSulam writes in Shamati 12: The essence of one’s work should be how to come to feel taste in bestowing contentment to one’s Maker.

Where in me is this? What kind of a taste can I feel in bestowal? Is it egoistic or altruistic? I don’t even know. How can I influence the Creator and what do I get from this? Since all that one does for oneself distances him from the Creator due to the disparity of form, do I get some kind of result out of this situation? After all, I also yearn for the Creator. Even though I can repeat a thousand times that I am doing this in order to bestow, these will just be words.

However, if one performs an act to benefit the Creator, even the smallest act, it (the deed) is still considered a Mitzva (commandment, precept), meaning a correction of oneself.

Hence, one’s primary exertion should be to acquire a force that feels taste in bestowing, which is through lessening the force that feels taste in self-reception. In that state, one slowly acquires the taste in bestowing. Meaning that we must reach a state in which when we give something, we enjoy.

All of our group work is said to gradually bring us to this. In the beginning, we advance under the influence of a broken desire, meaning with the help of signs of respect, praise, appreciation, and knowledge. When we try to be nice to each other and we enjoy this, it is because then we look great and respectable in the eyes of society and in our own eyes.

But if we continue to play with this, we acquire completely different characteristics, since depending upon our actions (our intentions are certainly broken), the Light that Reforms will shine on us and we will begin to change under its influence.

This is exactly what should always be our basis: How can we act such that at every moment, we are under the greatest influence of the Upper Light? This is what must determine our deeds, thoughts, and intentions at all time: how to act in the best way inside and out so that the Light will radiate on us as much as possible.

We must be concerned about this at all times, even though this concern could also be incorrect. After all, what seems to me to be correct today will turn out to be wrong tomorrow since all of our desires and flirtation with the Upper Light are egoistic and opposed to the characteristic of the Light. Yet this is not taken into account.

We are found in a state that is absolutely opposed to the Ohr Pnimi (Inner Light) which later comes to us. However, we are found in full accommodation with the Ohr Makif (Surrounding Light).

Obviously I am an egoist and am constantly trying  to put some kind of characteristic under the influence of the Light to correct it for my own benefit. Even though my corrections are egoistically directed towards myself, the Ohr Makif  doesn’t look at this and even shines on me according to my egoistic efforts and corrects my ego.

This is a tremendous characteristic of the Upper Light! After all, when it left the shattered Kli, it underwent this change itself. It doesn’t take into account the present state of the Kli, rather it looks towards whatever the next state can bring.

So the main thing for us is to try as a little child would and the Light will correct everything. The more that we act according to the Upper Light, the greater are the corrections that we get from it. This is precisely the transition from Lo Lishma (not for her name) to Lishma (for her name), from for myself to for the sake of the Creator.

Hence, one’s primary exertion should be to acquire a force that feels taste in bestowing.

It is difficult for us to speak about this now, since in the meantime, we have an egoistic taste of bestowal, meaning we are beginning to enjoy it. For me, there must be some kind of indication, sensation, and internal standard. I must give more to enjoy more, and if I give less, I enjoy less. I must measure everything, otherwise I will not be able to feel my actions and I will be under some kind of anesthesia in which I do something but don’t feel it.

How can I bestow and feel pleasure at the same time? Because then everyone would agree to bestow. Whatever difference there is between reception and bestowal, the main thing is that I will have enjoyment at the time that I act. In the meantime, we don’t understand this. At the present time we only act on one plane. No matter what we do, we are only receiving.

Gradually the Ohr Makif carries out a change in us such that we truly begin to bestow. We come out of ourselves into an empty void that we don’t feel, and yet together with this, we enjoy it.

Why all of a sudden do we feel that we are giving to an empty void? This is because in the transition from work for my sake to work for the sake of others, I don’t feel the other person. The idea is that now I feel him within myself and build a relationship with him according to his distance or closeness. To the degree that he is close to me, I want to give to him egoistically, or otherwise I don’t feel him. I am not ready to carry out even a single action for his sake.

When a spiritual revolution takes place in a person, he first feels the others as insignificant. In other words, his previous feelings and actions disappear and others begin to appear. This is similar to birth, when the body of the newborn begins to operate autonomously and takes upon itself to do everything that the body of the mother previously did for it.

A similar revolution happens to us. We receive an understanding of spiritual work, the possibility of giving outside of myself. This is something that is really unbelievable! And everything is thanks to the Ohr Makif, which at the time of the shattering went out of the Kli and is found to be surrounding it, meaning surrounding us. In this manner, it can bestow to us.

A Small Switch For A Great Light

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: How do we overcome fear in dissemination and fear of lack of success? How do we strengthen and give each other support on the way?

Answer: Truly, when we go out to the streets, organize various events, and circles in homes, we encounter very tired people who are not ready to listen to us and are unwilling to cooperate. In fact, they are very tired and exhausted from life. Therefore we are compelled to overcome many obstacles on our way toward them.

But the problem is that we look at the world, we think of how we can correct such a large number of people—seven billion human beings! What can a small handful of our people do with these billions in China, India, and South America? But we don’t understand that we don’t need to correct all of this. Through a small switch or faucet, we open the passage for the Upper Light and it makes all the corrections. We either block or open the passage for the Light. It isn’t necessary to be afraid of all the rest of the work because the Light will do it. He created darkness and He will also make the Light.

A one-year-old child could flip a small switch with his little finger and suddenly the whole world would be filled with light. Everything depends on how much force we activate. If we can activate the Upper Light, what it does is its business.

So, I am not afraid by the great amount of work that is expected from me. This is not my work, rather the work of the Creator. I am His partner in this work and my goal is to make it possible for the Creator to act. I activate Him like a child who takes the hand of an adult and shows him what he wants the adult to do. That is what children generally do when they don’t succeed in doing something by themselves.

But we are concerned about how to correct the entire world, all the nations of the world, all of their mind and feelings, while they are not ready and don’t want to listen to us. But we don’t need to do this. If you do your job, you will see that everything will work out on its own.

Baal HaSulam doesn’t say to us to turn to our haters and bribe them. It is possible to think that if we do more good things for them they will treat us better. Are you kidding? This really is not correct.

We accept terrorists into our hospitals and take care of them. Do you think that they will ever admire us thanks to this? On the contrary, they will treat us even worse than before. It is because we are doing this instead of doing what we really must do. This is absolutely false.

It is up to us to show that we are not doing anything for them physically, but only spiritually. The world doesn’t need our Nobel Prizes, medicine, and expertise in agriculture. They will never appreciate us for that. Subconsciously the world demands only correction from us and if we don’t carry out that correction, the world blames us for all of its problems.

There is no point in justifying yourself because you have brought everything good to them. You are to blame for not doing what is demanded of you. The Creator makes demands on Israel through the nations of the world. The Creator hardens the heart of Pharaoh and through him, tells you what to do.

Getting Rid Of Uncorrected Desires

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Torah, “Leviticus,”10:4 to 10:5: And Moses summoned Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Aaron’s uncle Uzziel, and said to them, “Draw near; carry your kinsmen from within the Sanctuary, to the outside of the camp. So they approached and carried them with their tunics to the outside of the camp, as Moses had spoken.

If I am on a certain level, I cannot rise to the next level or descend (I cannot perform a spiritual ascent or descent) before I perform certain actions.

Nadav and Avihu found themselves in the Holy of Holies on the level of the adhesion of the soul with the Creator, on the level of bestowal (Holiness and Holy symbolize the attribute of bestowal). In order to ascend to that level, they had to use their big ego, sanctify it, and transform it from reception to bestowal. When they found themselves in the Holy of Holies and tried to perform this action, they did not manage to do it. Therefore, instead of the fire of Holiness (the revelation of the Light of Hochma, in order to bestow), the opposite happened.

Therefore, the two vessels, the two attributes (Nadav and Avihu) fell, which means that they remained on the same level, the level of the dead. In every desire there are levels of the still, vegetative, animate, and human. In that case, the attributes fell from the human level to the level of the still nature so that they should be corrected.

What is the meaning of “carry your kinsmen from within the Sanctuary, to the outside of the camp?”  A camp refers to the gradual unity of the souls. The two attributes Nadav and Avihu fell to such a level on which they were not connected to anything and are therefore called dead. They must be corrected anew from their state. Therefore, they are taken out of there.

But this isn’t the first example of certain attributes that are removed from a certain level. For example, the great priest who died was taken out of the Holy of Holies on Yom Kippur, when a rope was tied to his foot in advance, since it was certain that his thoughts wouldn’t be pure. But he couldn’t restrain himself since he wanted to reveal the Creator so much and kept on with it.

He used to enter the Holy of Holies on Yom Kippur, which means that he ascended to such a high level that his body had to be taken out of there with a rope tied to his foot, while Nadav and Avihu were taken out by iron rods.

Iron, copper, silver, and gold are four materials in our world that are correlated with spiritual events. A whole section is dedicated to these relations.

Moving Into The Hands That Hold The Good Force

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: In what way is the revelation of the Creator at the time of the giving of the Torah greater than what happens at the time of the exodus from Egypt and the splitting of the Red Sea?

Answer: The revelation of the Creator at the time of the Exodus and the splitting of the Red Sea were simply actions carried out by the Creator. And the giving of the Torah was a transmission of the method and the power of what is higher to people so that they could use it correctly. And so it is such an important revelation.

In this manner people were given the possibility, the opportunity and ability, that through their effort, they could carry out the actions required to reach adhesion. Other than this, nothing is required from us. All the rest of the forms of help, revelations and concealments, exiles and redemptions, all come from Above like angels from the Creator, and are the forces that operate in creation.

But the giving of the Torah means that the power to work on our own was given into our hands. There has been no greater event than this because it refers to me as a person who can carry something out independently and personally. The opportunity was given to me to resemble the Creator, and it is not just that something good was done for me by allowing me to pass through the Red Sea or taking me out of Egypt.

Question: In what way was the Kli that was expected for the giving of the Torah different from the Kli for the exodus from Egypt?

Answer: This was a completely different Kli. The Kli for the exodus from Egypt is the desire to be detached from my egoistic nature, my evil inclination. I simply want all of my evil to leave me and not hold me in slavery. I want to take it off, tear it out of my heart and mind. It will remain somewhere behind me, in my AHP, but I want to be rid of it, “To be a free people in our land,” willingly.

But this is not enough. So I got rid of it and what else?

At the time of the giving of the Torah, a higher Power was given to me. I seemingly hold in my hands the power of the Creator and can remove my evil and bring it up again in myself when I understand that I need it so that I can correct it every time and ascend in this way.

In my hands is found the power of good, the power of correction. Formerly, I only needed to ask, as it is said in Exodus 2:23: …and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God. This was a cry from powerlessness: “Save us, help us, do this and that.” And at the time of the giving of the Torah, even though I depend upon Him, we become partners.

Don’t Be Afraid Of Fear And Helplessness

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: I had an encounter with people on the street not long ago in which there were many unexpected interferences and I found myself in a position of helplessness and despair. How can I focus directly on our goal and not circle around it?

Answer: This confusion was on purpose in order to bring you to deeper and deeper clarifications. This happens in every state, on every level and to every person. It happens to everyone.

Clarify this point and it will become clearer. Then you will encounter many more such situations and you will always feel helpless. The helplessness stems from the fact that it isn’t in your power to correct anything and that you are not in control of the situation, but this is actually a good thing. What you lack here is to hold on to the host and to be in contact with Him.

There is nothing you can but to continue. Everyone reaches such states and such discernments, and although you describe them nicely, you still have no contact with the upper Light. Even if you had such contact, there would still be disconnections so that you would be able to rise from one level to the next each time you feel helpless at a certain point a along the way.

It is just like King David wrote in the Book of Psalms: “You have hidden your face from me and I was frightened!” This is good since it shakes a person a little and takes the Klipot (shells) from him. When a person is in a state of fear, anxiety, insecurity, and disorientation, it is actually a good thing. We should see where it all comes from and how the Creator summons you to adhere to Him.

Birth Into A New World

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe Midrash Mispar, Parashat HaShavua, “Beshalach”: The Creator said, “I know that the dispute between Judah and Benjamin was for the sake of My honor, therefore I will bless both of them.”

Benjamin received his blessing in that the Beit HaMikdash (Temple) was built in his inheritance, and Judah began to possess the honor of the kingship.

Judah and Benjamin are two characteristics, two opposing forces, who shared in the birth of the people.

The layout, or general outline, of Egypt is reminiscent of the form of the uterus with a birth canal and the straits where the Israelis crossed the Red Sea. The forces that were sent after them by Pharaoh and which drove them forward symbolize the contractions in the uterus that push the fetus out.

The Torah Is A Program And A Guide

Dr. Michael LaitmanA Book as a Means for Discovery

Question: Where does the Torah come from? Some think that it was emanated from above to Moses.

Answer: This is not even an idea, but its complete absence.

Comment: Others suppose that Moses wrote the Torah himself.

Answer: First of all, Moses didn’t write it himself. There were people, his students, who wrote the Torah throughout the forty years of wandering in the wilderness. There is nothing here that goes beyond the limits of the ordinary world that we know, that is, except for one addition: the discovery of the upper force that surrounds and envelops this world and manages all of nature.

When we say that the Torah was given, that it was transmitted to the people of Israel, this is talking about attainment. There was no hand that transmitted something from above. The upper force is specifically a force, not a heavenly printing house that tossed scrolls to Moses. Is it possible to imagine something like that?

No, the Torah was written in the usual way. You cannot touch the upper force, just like the other forces in our world, with your hands,  and it is not grasped through a parchment or paper delivery. People attained it. Under its influence, they became aware of its mission, its purpose, and, over time, they became the people of the Book.

In this case, the Book is a discovery, a primary source through whose help we discover its author: Who He is, why He wrote, what He wants from us, and do we identify with Him or not?  If I am living in this world without seeing and knowing anything else, then for me, this book, this Torah, is something that was given to us as a higher, primary source through which we can attain the upper force. We have no connection with that except through the Torah.

Guidance for all Generations

It is necessary to understand that the Torah is not parchment scrolls or printed pages. Rather, as it is said, it is a program that must be implemented through the children of Israel, and it is implemented by them from generation to generation.

Accordingly, in every generation, if a person discovers this book for himself, that is, if he connects with it and is included in it in that he wants to discover the Creator through it, he sees that it is not just a historical story, but a history that is actually happening now. This is because, spiritually, the Torah is not limited by time. Through this history, a person can become aware of the upper force, and then the book becomes a source of revelation for him. Its true meaning is in this.

Thousands of years ago people discovered it for the first time, and since then this book has been with us in the form of the written Torah. Through that initial discovery and its written description, by maintaining the conditions that were transmitted together with the book, every generation can draw upon its message: What must one be in order to discover what is written in it?

A Book that Changes Us

Question: How would you characterize the Torah? In general, what kind of book is this?

Answer: Throughout the years of studying in school, we study particular books until we become mature, knowledgeable, and developed to a certain degree.

It is the same thing with the Torah. I must pass through all of those forms that its study creates within me. The preparation for learning and the learning itself, meaning, the correct use of the Torah, leads to this. I am constantly changing, developing, and passing through the stages described in it.

At the end of the way I attain my final individual correction. I become completely like that force that is showing me this entire “movie” of creation.

The Formation Of The People Of The Book

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe First Encounter with the Creator

Question: When talking about the identity of the people of Israel, about its unique specificity, it is impossible to ignore the Tanakh. Its legacy is at the heart of the people and largely determines our essence. The importance of this heritage is clear to almost everyone, but the reasons, the mechanisms of this phenomenon, are unclear, which generates many opinions and concepts.

The Tanakh writes about the exclusivity of the Jewish people. The book “Exodus,” 19:3 – 19:6, tells about the events at Mount Sinai, and cites the Creator’s words addressed to Moshe: So shall you say to the house of Jacob and tell the sons of Israel, “You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and [how] I bore you on eagles’ wings, and I brought you to Me.

And now, if you obey Me and keep My covenant, you shall be to Me a treasure out of all peoples, for Mine is the entire earth.  And you shall be to Me a kingdom of princes and a holy nation.” These are the words that you shall speak to the children of Israel.

The idea that the Creator chose the people of Israel was originally based on this verse.

Is this true? Can we consider the Tanakh as real evidence? Or is it just an historical narrative? And maybe it is a legal code, which singled us out from other peoples?

Answer: It all began with Abraham who revealed the upper force, nature, the source and its program of development and purpose. Most importantly, he saw the role of people living in the world and their place in the overall action. In particular, this applies to those people who consciously join the process to realize it and thus reveal the Creator.

In this way, the essence of what is happening, the meaning of God and the purpose of creation, which explains why we exist and what we become in the end—all this was revealed by Abraham, and this is what he taught to those who joined him.

However, his revelation was only the beginning. As the wisdom of Kabbalah explains, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob represent the initial stage, the first three Sefirot (GAR), the beginning of development, and the beginning of humanity’s acquaintance with the Creator. This encounter occurred in the group that Abraham created in Babylon and which left it for the land of Canaan.

The Protracted Session

Then there was the Egyptian exile, exiting Egypt to come to Mount Sinai and the Sinai desert, where for forty years, we studied spirituality, the upper force, understanding who and what controls us, for what purpose creation exists, what ultimately we had to do, what we had to become, what what we had to achieve, etc.

All this is really described in the Tanakh. The only question is who is able to understand its words? After all, this book was written by people who possessed spiritual attainment and saw the program that operates beyond the picture of our world.

In the same way, while watching TV, we understand that its picture is created by special tools, showing us information that comes from the external source, from a server or, let’s say, a video camera filming a live soccer match. It is clear that the action takes place on the screen, which just projects an image for us.

Similar phenomena are discovered by a person who begins to reveal the true pictures of this world. It turns out that behind it, there is the idea of creation and the upper force, which projects this picture within us. It does not need a screen to display this picture; rather, it shows its own movie from inside, but it seems to us that this happens outside. In this way, the picture of the external world, the universe, appears before us and we seemingly are in this huge cinema.

The upper force shows us its session in order to raise and develop us in a special way by which we will reveal it. Being together in this movie, we react to and participate in it. Thus we are pushed, compelled, and urged to discover why and for what this is happening. We learn from our actions and see a lot of causal factors and facets in the plot, but forget that the upper force shows it to us.

Thus, the connection with the original root is lost, and the movie becomes a reality. Joy, fear, and other internal responses take us away from the proper understanding of what is happening.

Not Just Spectators

We have been in this state for a long time. Having discovered this, Abraham used his fame and brought people from all over Babylon, outlined and explained to them, and taught them how to participate in the movie correctly.

The bottom line is that in every moment, we should try to reveal the intentions of the projectionist. And His intentions are crystal clear! He wants to raise us so that we understand His purpose and desire, understand the process that lies before us, and agree with Him that in the end our whole being is designed to become adhered to Him. This identification with the Creator is possible only on the condition that we become like Him. And this can be learned from watching his movie.

Abraham taught that to the Babylonians who followed him, and over the years they revealed to themselves, not only the world that he described, but also the course of development.

They tried to be included in the movie, in the unfolding action. Before them, they saw the still, vegetative, and animate natures and people who were friends from the group of Abraham, which later became the nation of Israel. They also saw distant people from other tribes and nations. And everyone tried to be part of the picture, as if it really were a movie, projected by the upper force.

In this way, every one of them related to what was happening outside and within himself. After all and in every instance, internal events make us look differently at what we see outside.

According to the explanations of Abraham, his followers wanted to develop the attitude that the Creator expected from them inn themselves. Abraham taught them how to relate to everything correctly, with the same thought, the same intention, that the projectionist, the upper force, had.

The Language of the Creator

They began to understand that this is the language of the upper force. The whole of nature is the language of the Creator that the Creator uses to communicate with human beings.

As a result, they began to reveal the separate elements that  compose nature, and to understand how the Creator creates it to affect us. They found that the world is created by good and bad forces, the light and darkness. Abraham explained this to them, and they revealed that within themselves. It turned out that the light and darkness are a good or a bad attitude.

Hence it became clear that the good force of bestowal, entirely related to the Creator, has 22 forms, called letters, and five additional forms. The followers of Abraham studied these forms and began to apply them. Moreover, the Aramaic language that was used in Babylon in speaking and writing was similar to this one, so in essence, this was their natural root, and they switched from Aramaic to Hebrew.

The Aramaic letters were also very much like Hebrew, only now they understood their true, correct form, the shape of vessels and desires, as well as the rules of grammar and the laws of bestowal, which were sequential, adjacent, etc. Abraham’s disciples revealed the precise laws of bestowal from the top down and from the bottom up, and thus this language was given to them.

In general, it is about revelation. People learned from the picture the upper force presented and understood how, what for, and why the upper force showed it to them. In other words, they learned the language of the Creator, finding internal meaning and the purpose of its influence in everything.

Who Is Responsible For Correction?

Choose Discovery Of The Creator And Concern For Humanity

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Does belonging to the chosen people, besides the heavy obligations, give the Jews any advantages, benefits or dispensations? What is good about being the chosen people?

Answer: We simply cannot refuse or reject our mission, neither those who belong to the Jewish people today, nor the twelve tribes that were lost 2,500 years ago. We cannot hide from our task; we must carry it out.

Being chosen or not does not depend upon us. We only need to look for where it is possible to add our own participation. Thanks to that, we will come to a good and peaceful life that all of us understand and appreciate. This is not in the sense that we will be higher than others, rather they will aspire to the same goal and will be included in the same process.

We will not succeed by fleeing, as we must carry out our role in any case. We must realize our mission, and nothing will help us, neither hiding nor death.

Question: In other words, being chosen indicates the discovery of the program of development of life, and acting accordingly makes it possible to achieve success in everything? How will daily life be different for a person who discovers the program of development?

Answer: A person such as this will understand where he is, how to connect with people correctly, and how to build an even greater and stable basis for even greater discovery of the higher power.

He is constantly advancing towards the disclosure of the upper force within himself and this will fill him with higher knowledge and feelings. All of his desires and thoughts will be directed only towards this.

Even today, we unconsciously yearn and aspire only to discover the upper force. It seems to us that we supposedly want only food, sex, family, well-being, money, respect, and knowledge, but in fact, through all of this, we are seeking the unique taste of the upper force.

And now, thanks to this, we are alive and sense the taste of the Creator in all of this. Everything, every object, that brings us pleasure contains a microscopic discovery of the Creator. If we want to feel this discovery fully so that it will fill all of our desires and thoughts and reveal the entire future perspective to us, we must prepare ourselves by correctly connecting with the environment.

Question: Throughout the generations in the history of the Jewish people, there were many sages who sought and investigated the upper force. This was the lot of the greatest minds of the generation, the elite. But is it possible that now every person on the face of the earth will be able to attain the Creator, all seven billion people?

Answer: First, the seven million Jews in Israel must discover the Creator and show everyone that they have this power. All people will feel this. At the very moment that the people of Israel begin to advance toward discovery of the Creator, all of humanity will freeze in suspenseful anticipation, understanding that after the Jews attain this, it will pass to all of the people.

Question: So who are these chosen people?

Answer: The chosen people are a people who choose the discovery of the Creator and care of all of humanity for the goal of revealing, the upper force, the general power of nature. to all people. This is our obligation, and then everyone will truly be happy, rising above the concept of time, motion, and space, entering into another dimension.

We Must Come Out Of The Aquarium

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Why do I need to explore everything with regard to myself in the upper world while we don’t have to do so in this world?

Answer: This is because you exist in a different form in the new reality. In our world, you receive everything into your body; you feel the reality in your senses, and therefore you see this room, the walls, the windows, the table, and me.

How do you know that it all exists? It is depicted this way to you by your senses.

The perception of the true reality is revealed only in the upper world. In our world, you are limited and live in an aquarium my dear friend! You are locked inside yourself saying that you don’t need other senses except the ones that you have in your fish body. Those are enough in order to feel this corporeal life, and you don’t need anything more than that.

You don’t believe that beyond the walls of the aquarium there is a different world, and you are not trying to explore beyond the walls. However, I already have such a desire, which is the beginning of a higher level of desires. These are the same five types of perceptions, but they are on the next level. You perceive everything on your level in the desire to receive, while I develop my perception in the desire to bestow.

Comment: But I use objective measuring tools without involving my subjective feelings.

Answer: That’s what you think, but you are mistaken.

Comment: But being inside the aquarium, I cannot understand my limitations and my influence on the picture that is depicted to me.

Answer: You can. Modern science speaks about this because it has attained the limits of this world. Einstein was the first to speak about the relative perception of our world, followed by the physicist Hugh Everett and other scientists.

The moment we understand that everything is relative, we already have a problem. Everything being relative means that we have no way of measuring anything in an accurate objective way. Each time we have to add the statement that the observation is with respect to the observer who is in a certain frame of reference and in certain conditions. In that case, nothing is absolute and there are no objective facts.

Question: How does the theory of relativity help us discover new horizons?

Answer: Although Einstein’s theory was revolutionary, it is still limited since it refers only to the limitations of our perception and not beyond. It is impossible to exit the boundaries of corporeal perception by a corporeal scientific approach.

Einstein managed to reach this boundary, but didn’t manage to cross it, although he tried. We see that his attitude towards the Creator was like that towards an upper mind, an upper force, and an upper desire and thought. He believed it was very important, since it was clear to him that there is something beyond the limits of the corporeal reality that we feel.

But the only way to enter this upper reality is by special development of the initial desire of this point inside the fish that pulls it beyond the limits of the aquarium. There is a special technique of developing this point, and when it becomes a real desire, a person begins to work with it by drawing on new forces that exist outside the aquarium.

He draws these forces towards him, using everything he has in order to discover and start feeling them, to reach bilateral contact and mutual cooperation with them. Thus he attains a new life.

People who have already attained the upper perception throughout history help a person in order to spare him from wandering in the dark. They leave us their writings and their impressions on which the wisdom of Kabbalah is based. By studying the Kabbalistic sources, we awaken ourselves in the right direction and eventually also attain the revelations of the new perception and feeling of the new world.

This is the real world, since it is independent of our limited corporeal perception. We have to come out of the aquarium!
