When Does the Light of Correction Descend?

527Question: We have been actively working in the ten for several years. How can we understand if we have attracted the light of correction at least once? Are we just in preparation for this process?

Answer: We attract the upper light at every lesson, every meeting, every gathering. We only need to increase our connection and collective demand for a new connection.

Question: You said that we attract the light of correction through prayer. Is it possible to attract it also through a dissemination action?

Answer: Yes, dissemination is a very effective correction method, second in importance after the lesson.

Questions about Spiritual Work—98

568.01Question: When we are overwhelmed by the love we feel for the teacher and our friends in the ten, should we make a restriction on it? How should we work with it?

Answer: If you direct all of this toward the Creator, then you experience some ascent. And this happens every time, again and again.

Question: When can a ten be in a state of Nefesh?

Answer: The common light you reach will be called the light of Nefesh.

Question: If everything is good on the spiritual level, what does it mean “pleases or does not please the spirit of people”?

Answer: There are spiritual actions that force us to take a roundabout path, and there are actions where you move straight. This is essentially what determines success or failure in spirituality.

Question: How do we recognize the differences that are important to overcome to reach unity among us and those that can be accepted?

Answer: Anything that prevents us from connecting must be corrected.

Question: What does it mean to bring the left line to holiness?

Answer: It means that all your egoism, which is revealed in you at this moment, must be corrected into altruism.

Desires “Haman” and “Mordechai”

243_06Question: We are trying to connect our desires in the work of the ten. Which of them are called Haman and which are called Mordechai?

Answer: Egoistic, uncorrected desires that cannot yet unite are called Haman.

And the small desires, striving for an imperceptible, literally tiny unity, are called Mordechai. This is a very small light, the light of Hassadim, which shines a little in the Kelim of Haman. We need to put all this in order.

The fact is that the desire Haman consists of ten desires called “his ten sons.” They are almost impossible to correct. Therefore, we eventually turn with them to the Creator, and they disappear under the influence of the upper light.

And the other desires we can correct and fill, and thus get closer and closer to the Creator.

One within the Other

571.03Question: If the Torah and the Creator are one, why do we perceive them as opposites during the work?

Answer: We do not perceive the Torah and the Creator as opposites, we perceive them as one within the other.

When we talk about qualities, we refer to the Creator; when we talk about actions or what we want to achieve, we refer to the Torah, the light that influences us and brings us to the desired result.

Question: How should we correctly organize work in the group during the study when we feel this light? How do we correctly bestow it back to the Creator?

Answer: When we act among ourselves in the ten, try to come closer, unite, and hope to do so through our efforts as described in the articles about the group, then we begin to reveal the light within us, and in our unity, we try to direct it toward the Creator.

Spirituality in the Ten

528.01Question: How do we use spirituality in the ten?

Answer: You just have to convey to your friends your correct feelings and help them. Think about the fact that you want to please the other, fill him, and help him.

Success or failure in spirituality depends on persistence and attention.

Question: Will there ever come a time when spirituality will come first?

Answer: It is up to you and your friends to convince each other that there is nothing more important than spirituality.

With Mind and Emotions

235Question: It is said that we can merge with the Creator emotionally and attach ourselves to Him with our hearts. But we have the Torah and studying with our minds. What is the advantage of studying with the mind?

Answer: Some people strive to understand the Creator intellectually and technically. And some wish to understand Him emotionally within themselves. It all depends on the person.

We approach the Creator both with our minds and feelings. Often we attain Him more intellectually, and then there are periods when it happens more through emotions, and in this way we gradually move toward Him.

It is like walking on two legs: right-left, right-left, taking steps like that. The same applies here. Sometimes you may feel Him through your intellect, and other times through emotions. We need to progress in both ways.

Question: How can we properly balance the preferences of some for emotional study and others for knowledge-based study in the group? How do we avoid misunderstandings on this basis?

Answer: Gradually, you will start understanding each other because you are required to unite in all your inner qualities. For instance, one person might currently perceive everything through reason, while another through the heart, and then it may switch. You will have to manage this.

Appeal to the Ten

524.01Question: How important is the Hisaron (the need) of the lower one in the ten? How important is his appeal to the friends to correct material suffering?

Answer: Any one of the friends turning to the ten is very inspiring and shakes everyone up. Then  everyone tries to respond with the proper answer.

That is very important. Without the Hisaron of the lower one you cannot correct material suffering.

Question: If we fail to correct something in the spiritual, it immediately passes into the material plane. Given the material problem, how can we learn what we must correct in the spiritual?

Answer: You cannot figure it out, at least not in your state. But what you can do is make every effort to combine all your actions and all your thoughts.

Questions about Spiritual Work—96

961.2Question: We have a sense of self-awareness that we are a reality that can receive and bestow light. In the quality of the Creator, we feel ourselves as part of a single system with Him. How do we reconcile these two qualities in the work of the ten since they are essentially different?

Answer: Yes, they relate to different qualities, but we must try to combine them. Gradually, we will succeed in doing so.

Question: How can we strengthen the intention to bestow in the ten?

Answer: We need to talk about it more, and while performing actions, you should try to feel that you are uniting and turning to the Creator. Then longing toward Him will be stronger, and you will come to His revelation.

Question: Can a person studying Hasidic texts embrace the dissemination of Bnei Baruch and begin to strive for the Creator?

Answer: Of course. That person needs to get acquainted with what we do. We want to reach the feeling of the Creator. That is what he should engage in. He needs to read our books and immerse himself in them a little.

Question: If a person is part of a whole and included in the system, how can he pray for others without thinking about himself? What is unconditional love? How can one love unconditionally at all?

Answer: I do not know how to explain it because it is a feeling. You have to try to let these feelings pass through you, through your connections with the friends, and then you will have the opportunity to understand what this is about.

Get Closer to the Desires of Your Friends

942Question: Each of us is engaged in working with our desires. The influence of the light leads to their correction, which is an individual attainment. But what does it mean to add one’s friends‘ desires to this picture? How do we approach these desires and reveal them to reach a common attainment?

Answer: This is a difficult task that we must engage in at every step. Therefore, we must carefully monitor where our thoughts are, what we talk about, what we learn, and what we read. And this must be done without departing from spiritual boundaries.

Question: In the ten’s work, there is an understanding that one must feel the desires of the friends, but unfortunately, there is no internal impression. What is the correct approach here: to clothe them or to come out to their desires?

Answer: We simply need to unite in our desires. We must agree to connect with friends in such a way as to become “one person in one heart” so that there are no differences between us so that we always think about one common goal and strive only for it.

Question: Ultimately will we come to the point where, in our mind, we will feel and define ourselves concerning the Creator and ask for correction? Can we achieve this in the ten?

Answer: Of course, I do not doubt it.

Strengthen Unity

524.01Question: What will help you quickly recognize material and spiritual disturbances as help and realize that nothing is an obstacle, but on the contrary, it would awaken and give even greater striving to the group, to the Creator?

Answer: If you find out what stands in your way to uniting in the ten and turn to the Creator so that He strengthens your unity and gives you even more strength to connect, everything will be fine.

Question: How do I keep an internal connection with the ten during the day?

Answer: I do not think that is possible. You will still fall-rise, fall-rise. After all, there is no such condition in the world as to stay in one place.
