Why Study the Principles of Creation?

632.3Question: Does a person have the freedom to implement the principles of creation? Suppose I know that the principle that the world is one and some other principles. What can I do regarding them?

Answer: Nothing, these principles provide you with some understanding of the structure of the world, the creation, in which you exist and nothing more.

Based on these fundamental blocks (principles), it is already possible to shape a tactic of your behavior: whether you can or cannot improve your condition in some way.

Among these principles, on one hand, is the principle of freewill and, on the other hand, the principle of absolute deterministic development, which means the beginning, middle, and end of all development follows a strictly defined program.

By studying the principles of creation, you begin to understand where you have freewill, in which cases it is mandatory and only in this it manifests itself, how you can act to change something yourself, or whether you are completely subject to the upper force.

In other words, you proceed from principles that explain to you one universal law of nature, but from different aspects: relative to yourself, relative to society, and relative to the elements of development.

Then you can shape your relationship with the world, whether you have the ability to somehow influence the world or the impact it has on you to improve your condition.

Why do we need to know this? Just out of pure curiosity? No. We want to understand what lies ahead of us and how we can change something in our destiny.

There are rapidly changing events taking place in the world right now. And in a year or two, this speed will seem slow to us. In a year or two, the world will be rushing at such a crazy speed that today’s change of events will seem to us like the movement of a cart compared to a modern airplane.

Controlling Reality through One’s Attitude to Others

627.1Question: How can I control my reality?

Answer: We cannot control our reality directly but only through our actions, through our attitude to others. If we treat others correctly, we will positively change our own data, and then reality will be manifested in us clearly, correctly, and consistently.

Question: How do you understand how you can really be useful to people and do it with pleasure?

Answer: You can be useful to people only if you try to help them reach the correct goal. That is, imagine that this person is your child, and you are therefore trying to help him and support him. This is the most important thing. If we treat each other like this, we will become like a group of good children.

Unattainable Treasures

276.02Question: The treasures mentioned in the article “Lock and Key” are the pleasures of connection with the Creator for which palaces are necessary, that is, great desires. Why does it turn out that initially we have no desire to reveal these treasures?

Answer: We are born in such a way that we do not need these desires. We will not feel anything special about them even if we reveal them. Just like if you give a baby gold coins, they mean nothing to him.

Comment: But I think many would want connection with the Creator if it is a treasure.

My Response: It depends on what conditions. Since the connection with the Creator can only be built on the equivalence of qualities, it turns out that we must acquire the same qualities as the Creator. This is bestowal, love, mutual assistance, and so on. They are the qualities of the Creator.

We, as a rule, do not have these qualities. Therefore, we do not feel Him, we do not feel a desire for Him, and as soon as there is any opportunity to aim for this, we immediately turn away from it and run away.

In Order for the Key to Fit the Lock

546.03Within those gates there is one lock and one narrow place, in which to insert that key. It is neither inscribed nor apparent, but only according to the inscription of the key, who do not know in the narrow place, but only in that key (Introduction of The Book of Zohar, Chapter “Lock and Key,” Item 44).

Question: The key is probably some kind of access to hidden knowledge, right? How can I discover inside myself where to insert this key?

Answer: You do not act mechanically as if dissecting something within yourself, but sensually, understanding that you need to change some qualities so that in the end the qualities of Hesed, Gevura, Tifferet, Netzach, Hod, and Yesod relocate among themselves, the key enters Malchut and opens all of nature to you.

Question: How can a person discover this lock and key within himself?

Answer: If he studies Kabbalah, he begins to feel his connection with the concealed, and eventually comes to the conclusion that he needs to attain it. This is the purpose of his existence. Therefore, he goes toward this. There is no other way.

Big Changes

963.4Question: By changing ourselves, we will change the quality of our perception of things that are happening in the corporeal world, but will we not be able to influence the circumstances themselves and change them? The circumstances will still be repeated, but having changed spiritually, will we stop reacting to them the way we do now? Or will circumstances also change?

Answer: We cannot see the whole picture, but we can make things change not only in our feelings but even in external circumstances.

Ordinariness Kills Spirituality

533.02Question: What causes the transformation of the Kabbalist students into ordinary Hasidim? Is it because of habit?

Answer: Yes, habit becomes second nature. A person gets used to it. He has a schedule, he has a group. Everything is organized around him: all problems and all good deeds. Life flows automatically.

And this philistinism kills spirituality. It is pleasant. It is stable. And if someone is against it, then such a person is not loved.

Question: What is the way out in this case?

Answer: Excite yourself and each other in any way in order to somehow wake up! After all, a group without a teacher is always a catastrophic transition for it, if it is saved at all. I do not want to say anything about the students of Rabash, in what condition they are today, but all this can be seen.

And even when Baal HaSulam died, and he had five to six students at the time, everyone except Rabash simply drooped: they sat separately, read psalms, and did not gather together.

The same thing happened with the former students of Rabash, whom I brought to him as young guys. I heard that sometimes they get together with two or three people on holidays. This is what it is. They are practically all alone. Everyone minds their own business.

Influence Through a Question

243.01Question: When you answer questions, are you making some kind of correction?

Answer: Of course! If a question comes from a clear desire of a person, sits inside him as an urgent need for spiritual advancement, and he raises it to me, and I take this question and begin to process it, to feel it inside myself, answer it, and interact with the person, with the desire of that person, then, naturally, a certain spiritual correction occurs.

But in principle, this does not make it easier for that person. He still needs to do his actions.

I simply perform my extraneous spiritual actions. Personally, I do not need them. But I sort of scatter and sow such “fields” around me with all sorts of answers to questions. Thus, the general information field becomes broader, more accessible, and more fertile. This information field will already be prepared For people who one day will come to Kabbalah. That is why I like to answer questions.

Open Up the Entire Universe

934Question: The article “Lock and Key” of the Introduction of The Book of Zohar is about the key that both opens and closes a lock, i.e., something concealed. What is this quality within a person that opens and closes a lock in this context?

Answer: It depends on the qualities of the person who is coming closer or moving away from the Creator. In accordance with this, he either opens or closes the entire universe for himself, all of nature.

You will be able to find the key that reveals the actions of the Creator within yourself if you change the qualities of reception in you to qualities of bestowal. This can be done only if you are in a group, in connection with others who are similar to you, when you together help each other to rise above your egoism and open yourself to others.

It turns out that in this way you come closer to each other, and it becomes clear to you how you can attain the entire nature.

This happens according to the law of equivalence of qualities. You can reveal the actions of the Creator only if you yourself perform similar actions with your desires.

Consequence of the Growth of Egoism

595.04Question: The main discoveries in the history of humanity occurred at the time when one of the Kabbalists was appearing in the world. For example, when the Ari appeared, the Renaissance era and the discovery of lands began. During the time of Baal HaSulam there was a very strong development of science and technology.

Why exactly do Kabbalists have such an impact on progress?

Answer: It is not they who influence progress, but the general plan of nature leads to further development.

Humanity develops gradually. First, there is an accumulating process and then an ascent, again an accumulating process and an ascent, according to the four phases of the development of desire. The four phases are divided into four more, and four more, and so on. Or, you can say, five, including the root.

It turns out that the leap of egoism, which develops and then rises qualitatively, causes the appearance of Kabbalists, scientists, and all kinds of revolutions in our world: cultural, social, and others.

Kabbalists are souls who have risen to a new level of egoism, can begin to correct it, and thus attain the universe and enunciate it to others.

All of this is based on egoistic growth. Kabbalists do not decide anything here. They themselves are a consequence of the growth of egoism.

Remedy Against Wars

232.03Question: You say that the screen balances the opposing forces and wars stop. How does this happen?

Answer: The screen is an anti-egoistic force that everyone must cultivate in order to connect with others.

In our world, we are only slightly inferior to each other because our egoism feels that it cannot exist without it.

We have no other choice. Everything we do, we do only for our own sake and not for mercy or goodness, because we would otherwise harm ourselves. We agree to a truce to do supposedly good deeds only because these actions will eventually give us the opportunity to survive.

But as soon as we have a chance to subdue or suppress someone, we immediately take advantage of it. Everyone! Everyone is constantly looking around for such an opportunity.
