Questions about Myself

235Question: Let’s say you are explaining The Study of the Ten Sefirot, how is it that you constantly remember what to talk about?

Answer: It lives in me! It is my nature. I am not inventing anything or remembering something artificial. It is me! It is like you are asking me about myself or my family.

I just have to wake up, cheer up, and have some coffee. Then my systems wake up, like when you turn on the computer, for example. First of all the lamps warm up, etc. After that it does not matter what question you ask, I have an answer.

Why am I not preparing for lessons? Because I do not care what the topic is. You are asking me about the way I am arranged inside. You say: “What is Aba ve Ima, how does ZON rise or fall, or something happens to these worlds or those worlds?” But this is all the inner feelings of a person. After all, this does not exist outside of a person, but rather within him. This is why you are actually asking me how I feel, it is that kind of a question.

Comment: This is so incomprehensible! Let’s say when people study to be teachers, they first study the system and how it all works.

My Response: It is because they just learn it mechanically—there is such a system and such worlds. Ask them where these worlds exist—somewhere out there, in another dimension, in another area.

But they exist in me! These worlds do not exist anywhere at all, only inside a person. In the “Introduction to the Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah,” Baal HaSulam writes that all the worlds are inside a person.

Question: So many books have been written about this! How do you manage to give different comments for different states?

Answer: I have all this stored inside. When you ask me something, I dig inside myself and spread out the information to you, as if from some warehouse.

Kabbalah is not just a science that I have studied. All these definitions, sensations, levels, states, and phenomena exist in me, and I am just telling you about them. Therefore it is not difficult for me at all.

Two Ways of Perception of Speech

283.02Comment: When a Kabbalist explains something, a person does not hear the words; he feels you completely above logic. It only appears to him that he is hooked on your words.

My Response: I try to convey the material with feelings because, actually, there is nothing but feelings. No matter how it may sound, maybe prosaic or frivolous, we are a desire to enjoy, and we measure everything according to this desire.

No matter what I do, I still measure it inside me, create certain connections within myself, and thus study science, language, or anything else.

I program my desire to enjoy according to new criteria: let’s say, my egoism gets a certain amount of points, something else gets a different amount, and so on. This way, I create a matrix within my egoism with respect to a single phenomenon or a set of phenomena. So, it already exists in me; I am, as they say, familiar with it.

Then there is another area with respect to which I create a certain degree of importance of each phenomenon, action, or connection within my ego. This is how I get acquainted with this phenomenon; it already exists in me too, and I can talk about it.

Restructuring is something else. When someone contacts me with their matrix, we connect with each other, debate, compare our matrixes, and now I have the opportunity to use my logic for scrutiny.

What does using my logic mean? There is no logic. It is the same desire to enjoy I check myself against: is he more correct or am I, and what is more beneficial for me?

It also includes a huge apparatus of qualities I was born with, values, and habits that I have acquired. It all works together. These are complex systems of filtering the perception of everything that comes our way.

But when we work for the upper world, for the Creator, this is completely different; that is, we do not work for ourselves, we do not take ourselves into account. Totally different properties and qualities are in play here—absolute. This is not about my personal, individual self.

To the extent that I can enter others, that is, without taking myself into account, and connecting with others, I become objective. My desire becomes objective and then I can relate to everything on absolute terms, not my personal subjective ones.

I am creating a so-called absolute Kabbalistic language. Whatever I take down, I can perceive from this record, this matrix, this language created by me; I can perceive the Creator.

And you will perceive it, and others will too. Each of us makes this record coming out of their ego, above it. Therefore, on one hand, this perception will be individual, and on the other hand absolute, because you made it above the ego.

Go With the Flow

023Question: Sometimes you give an assignment: “Do it this way, put everything like that.” Everything is done okay. Right away you come and say: “Take it all apart, put it away.” What is the right way to relate to this?

Answer: To say thank you that I gave you two tasks instead of one.

If all this would go straight in a deterministic way, then we would develop only our brains and nothing else. Exactly thanks to the fact that we are faced with such events in which we do not understand anything, we cannot orient ourselves with our head and feelings in them, the necessity to jump to another level arises in us: how to flip yourself, your brains, how to change the way you look at the world.

It is precisely in this that a person begins to feel the need: I am obligated to look differently, I am obligated to begin to understand differently, I am obligated to hear and see differently so that everything will change in me. Such a necessity has to appear.

Comment: But when you can’t find an explanation for what is being done to you, then you can simply get lost.

My Response: And you hold on to your head less, to your approach to life, to your mind, and give yourself up to the flow!

One Question Two Answers

Unshakable Sense of Justice

514.02Question: Did your teacher have a developed sense of justice?

Answer: Yes, Rabash had impulses to defend his point of view—and quite strongly. Especially when he saw arrogance on the path, he never gave in. Calmly, according to the laws, he demanded what was his. Everything should be fair. The sense of demanding justice was very deep in him. He did not give in.

Question: Is this a human quality or a principle of a Kabbalist?

Answer: I think it is a principle. Sometimes it cost him a lot of nerves and even maybe inconveniences. But he could not help but stand up for justice.

Question: What about you?

Answer: I think I have the same thing and even more. I still bully—and often—if there is such an opportunity.

It depends on how you see insolence, impudence, obvious neglect, contempt, swagger, and all other egoistic pranks. If they are a result of the natural development of a person, like a small child, then you do not focus on them because that is how he or she is, still has to develop, and nothing can be done. This is a natural manifestation of the forces that the Creator has given us.

And if this is not a natural development, if a person wants to subjugate others in this way and uses it for evil and deliberately harms people, then it is very unpleasant to see. I would be happy to stop such people.

To Expand the Feelings

549.02Question: Surely you saw your teacher Rabash in all sorts of states, including descents. The person who explained spiritual laws and principles to you, in a state of descent, might be completely opposite, might contradict himself. What was your attitude to this?

Answer: Do not be naive. What contradictory states are you talking about? A descent is a state in which you switch off in order to gain new ballast and rise with it. Of course, such states are very, very sharp. A person disconnects from the world, from his own essence, from the mind. He is plunged into severe internal upheavals, but he passes it all.

I cannot say anything about such conditions. It is impossible to convey them, just as you cannot convey to a child your feelings from a symphony, for example. He does not yet have the appropriate feelings; he has not gone through all sorts of ups, downs, worries, sufferings, or feelings of joy. He is not yet flexible inside; his feelings are not yet expanded.

It is the same with a person in our world compared to a Kabbalist. Therefore we need to work on how to expand people’s feelings and to reveal them, then they will begin to perceive the fulfillment that exists in our world—the force, the field in which we exist and that holds all matter.

This is the result of Kabbalistic or integral education.

The Moment of Supreme Truth

165Comment: Let’s say you tell a student, “Do this,” and then literally after a short period of time you say: “What are you doing?” Your actions contradict each other.

Answer: It seems that way to you, it is just how you hear it. I don’t say opposite things, but you perceive the opposite. For me it is the same.

There is a very precise example in the Torah when the Creator promises Abraham: “I will make your son the foundation of all spiritual generations on Earth.” And five minutes later He says, “Sacrifice him.” How can we compare these two events and say that they are the same thing?

Question: Then how can I listen to you in this case?

Answer: Precisely like this, the way Abraham listened. Only he had the opportunity to rise above these two events—not with his earthly mind, but rather with his spiritual mind, with faith above reason, meaning, in the quality of bestowal—to see that it is the same thing.

Therefore it is not necessary to say that the teacher is wrong. After all, at the same time, you cut yourself off from the opportunity to rise to a new degree of reason where opposites come together and do not destroy or annul each other.

This is the moment of the highest truth, which we cannot rise to with our human brains. But this is exactly the point through which you can pass, like through a wall. It will suddenly part, and you will pass.

The Best Hours of Life!

962.3Comment: In the article “The Last Generation,” Baal HaSulam writes that when the majority of people in the world will be in the quality of bestowal, in the quality of the Creator, then people will stop communicating at all, meaning talking.

My Response: They will communicate in a different way, at the level of thought. Their thoughts will be transmitted to each other. People will express themselves more concretely, more conventionally, and concisely.

Question: You and your teacher spent a lot of time together. Did you talk a lot or were you silent more?

Answer: He answered only if I asked, and if I did not ask, he was silent. We spent a lot of time with our eyes closed and not saying anything to each other. These were the best hours!

Question: So you could not just start talking about something with him?

Answer: I could. But I understood that it had to be something serious.

Question: In principle, is this the way to relate to everyone? If there is something to talk about, then talk only about serious things or it is better to be silent. Is this your advice?

Answer: Yes. This is the right attitude toward time, toward the world, toward everything.

The Program of Connection with the Creator

961.2The word “Kabbalah” is explained in different ways. One of the meanings is transmission, since the language of Kabbalah can be transmitted only in the connection of a student and a teacher.

All other languages (Tanakh, Alakhu, Haggadah) you can study by yourself.

Of course, you have to get books from previous generations, study explanations of key points, and have the opportunity to consult with someone, but you don’t have to be closely connected with the teacher; you don’t have to learn how he thinks, feels, and treats everything.

You are not obliged to accept from him or to copy his attitude or worldview.

But in order to attain the language of Kabbalah, you must cling to him. After all, he is the upper and you are the lower.

He presents his AHP to you, and you are obliged to perceive it as something desirable despite its externality that deliberately, egoistically repels you.

Of course, you disagree with the teacher, do not want, reject, and hate. But, in essence, it shows you how much you don’t accept the spiritual.

You have to acquire a language, a program, that works in it, but doesn’t yet work in you. You try to copy it on yourself from the examples that are given to you.

Without the help of a teacher who is next to you in the same world, in the same sensory organs, in order to penetrate into the spiritual, whose attitude to the spiritual you can cling to despite the external obstacles blocking your ability to achieve inner connection—without such examples, the Creator would leave you in complete isolation from the spiritual, without any hope.

It is impossible to extract spirituality from books. After all, it is not attained by the earthly mind.

Only on the condition that a person annuls his egoism and destroys the barrier between himself and the teacher in order to see his inner content, only on this condition, does he absorb his spiritual contemplation as far as he is able.

And if you have somehow grasped the program of the teacher’s connection with the Creator, you can continue; otherwise, no.

This is what the Ari said before his death, that only one of his students, Chaim Vital, could continue to study Kabbalah, because he took over from him the basics of the language and the program of connection with the Creator, while the others did not.

Where Is the “I” Of the Kabbalist?

281.02Question: You, as a Kabbalist, are a kind of a substance that consists of desires and intentions. You look just like any other person. How do you build some of your consistent actions in our world?

Answer: On one hand I am a teacher; whoever wants to receive the knowledge that I possess from me can get it through the regular lessons on the Internet, through books, and so on. On the other hand I am an educator. Those who want to listen to my advice can receive it.

Besides that, I also influence the world based on my inner potential. This influence is not perceived and not felt by others. Those students who are next to me feel it during lessons. But, in general, it is not perceivable; it cannot be measured in any way, you can only feel that there is some kind of power in this person. When you are next to him, it penetrates you, but nothing more than that. It is not something obvious.

There are Kabbalists who lived in this world and left books and disciples behind them. Now they are gone, but this does not mean that they do not exist and do not act, and act, even more than we do! This is because they are in the system, only they are not perceived by us.

And I am still in a system that is felt by the lowest level in existence. Due to the fact that I am on the same level with them, I can help them, show them, give an example, and support them.

Question: Where is your “I”?

Answer: “I” is the most acute sense of the need for self–realization. What would I like to do most effectively at this moment in order to realize myself? This is called “I.” Obviously it already depends on the person, what he would want.

Question: And your “I”?

Answer: I think I am trying to do that in all my actions. For example, now I urgently need to run to realize my “I” in front of hundreds of people who, in turn, will listen to how they can realize their “I.”

Seeing a Person’s Future

961.2Question: When you look at a student, do you know his or her entire path from beginning to end?

Answer: What does it matter? It is still very hard to describe, including his freewill and so on. There is nothing obvious. There is a program, but the method of its implementation is concealed.

But if we were at the end of final correction, which no one has yet reached because this can only be done together, we would see all the paths we have traveled. This can only be seen by going through them and being in the final state.

No person can fully see what is happening, what will happen, and in what form. In principle the stages of the path are known, but the time when they will come true and how they are realized is unknown since this is determined by our freewill.

Question: But you once said that Rabash knew your path from beginning to end?

Answer: Probably, but I do not think he knew exactly how it would be implemented. As far as I understand, not a single created being, until its final correction, can see an absolutely complete implementation, which is above freewill because it is on the next level of the entire picture of the universe.

That is, you must rise to the full correction of this picture, behind which there are so-called 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th millennia.

Question: But can a Kabbalist see the dry program, I mean the program itself?

Answer: Of course. But not the dates. It is impossible to say how this will be done, by war or by peace, this year or in 20 to 30 years. Otherwise, we would not have freedom.

This would automatically cancel any of our actions. Not that you know and do nothing, but in a completely different way. If this picture were clear, visible, and realized, then you no longer need to do anything.
