“Vaccination For A Social Epidemic” (Medium)

Medium published my new article “Vaccination for a Social Epidemic

There is no stronger trigger to anxiety than the unknown. And we are currently going through a challenging time heading toward the unknown. This terrifies us. Confusion, isolation, and agitation are some of the threats to the American state of mind due to the repercussions from COVID-19. Experts believe the situation is close to a social epidemic. The only way to stay afloat in these turbulent waters is through a support network, to build an immune system against anxiety through human connection.

Far from nature and disintegrated as a society, we have declined into perpetual uncertainty.

There are so many unpredictable and uncontrollable elements in reality, which themselves depend on myriad hidden causes, that we have lost trust in multiple aspects of our society. This makes people apprehensive.

Fifty years ago, we were not so fearful about the future. We thought we would progress and things would get better. Now we do not know what tomorrow will bring and if things improve for our children. It is no longer a speculation; we see that the world is declining. We are already facing a very real fear of approaching hardships.

A person naturally wants to know the probabilities for the future; otherwise he would not be certain about how to act in the present. In the past, most people could largely expect what would be the course of their lives. Life was simple, close to the earth, guided by the seasons and close to nature.

As we internalize this premise and begin to work on our connections, we bring about warmth and affection, supportive thoughts, and concern for others.

Over the years, we moved away from the perception of nature as the root of life, as the supreme system in which we exist. We distanced ourselves from each other, glorified individual achievements, and encouraged heartless competition between us to the point that the growing egoism caused us to feel that others and nature were created only to serve us.

We do not know what will happen next. We do not understand what is affecting us or how to respond correctly. Far from nature and disintegrated as a society, we have declined into perpetual uncertainty.

Slowly, we are getting used to the shocks that impact the world, while we still wonder what force acts in reality and brings all these events upon us. It takes the element of uncertainty for us to try to find the source of everything around us and to realize that it is nature. It is the same force that is compelling us to become similar to it, interdependent and synergic.

Through tremendous pains and troubles we are gradually coming to terms with the importance of building a fortress of strong and meaningful human relations. As we internalize this premise and begin to work on our connections, we bring about warmth and affection, supportive thoughts, and concern for others.

These actions will foster our confidence in the future and navigate us safely through our current state of uncertainty.

The future society must be one where people live in order to attain connection among them because in the connection, they will discover joy and wholeness.

People are social beings. We are so dependent upon society that it should be our safe haven when we feel scarcity and fear. We need to create an environment that provides a sense of confidence, of mutual guarantee. This is all it takes to heal the social epidemic.

“Why We Hate” (Linkedin)

My new article on Linkedin “Why We Hate

In all of nature, there is not an iota of hate, except in people. Animals don’t hate one another; it is a uniquely human vice. But there is a profound reason that only humans hate each other, and do so with such passion. Envy and pursuit of power and respect grow within us all the time. We are becoming increasingly unforgiving.

The more hatred increases, the more we will realize that we cannot overcome it by ourselves, yet we must overcome it or it will extinguish civilization.

In the past, you could see children playing together and enjoy each other’s company. Today, they play their game consoles, which pit them against each other, and all they care about is winning.

If you compare cats from two centuries ago with cats that live today, you will not find that they have grown more vicious. But if you compare people who lived two centuries ago to our own generation, you will find that we are far more self-centered, entitled, careless, and generally far worse people than our great grandparents. From generation to generation, we are becoming more bellicose, hurtful, and more sophisticated in our malice.

But there is a good reason for the apparent perpetual decline. We are the only species in decline since only we are destined to make a conscious correction to our nature. The reason for the spike in the levels of hatred in recent years, and particularly in the last few months, is that the hatred must become so fierce that it will force us to seek a way to mend it.

The more hatred increases, the more we will realize that we cannot overcome it by ourselves, yet we must overcome it or it will extinguish civilization. This, in turn, will drive us, even if against our will, to work on healing it together. And this compulsory cooperation against an enemy that dwells in each of us will foster in us love for one another. Were it not for the intensity of hatred, there would not be necessity to love. Were it not for our defeat in battling hatred alone, we would not turn to one another.

The hatred we feel will never vanish. If it did, so would our need to love. It is precisely the growing hatred that makes us increase the love. As we advance on “two legs,” hatred and love, we march toward knowing the depths of human emotions, how we can overcome conflicts, reign in anger and hate, and in the process, learn the depths of human nature.

Only if we understand the role and significance of hate will we be able to truly love. And when we do, we will see that all of us, all colors, races, faiths, and cultures were created hateful, but only so as to turn the hatred into love of our own volition.

Future Society—One Humanity

laitman_294.3Question: What should be the society of the future?

Answer: The society of the future is a society in which people will begin to feel all forms of life at the same time. A person will not feel that he exists only in one part of the universe, the most insignificant and small part, called “our world.”

In addition to it, there are many more steps, and we can understand, realize, and feel all of them while still living in this world. Our world is the egoistic part of the universe, and the rest of it is altruistic. We can combine all of them within ourselves.

But in order to begin to feel the other levels, we need to get out of our egoism. Then we will see what the universe actually is.

Question: Now there is such a thing as thinking in the 5D 5-dimension. 3D is when you think selfishly, for yourself, and 5D is when you feel this world as a single mind, a single humanity. What should we strive to think of as a single organism?

Answer: For this you must rise above your egoism and acquire the property of bestowal, love. You have to lose yourself, stop feeling like a center, and vice versa, feel others as a center, as a goal toward which you give everything. And you yourself exist only for this. Then you will feel the level of 5D and so on.

The Last Generation—The Time Of Women

laitman_294.4For many generations, women have been in the shadows. But in our time, they are beginning to awaken and come forward because we live in the last generation, the last stage of development of humanity, which must bring unity among all men and all women and then unite men and women together with the Creator.

Kabbalists wrote about the coming of the last generation and all its signs are confirmed judging by the global coronavirus pandemic as well as other events that are yet to happen in the near future.

The progress in the 21st century brought us to a state where there is nothing to do but unite with each other and rise to the spiritual level. And here, in the birth of a new humanity, women must fulfill their irreplaceable role.

What is the difference between a woman’s work in the new, post-coronavirus world and the old one? We still do not really understand and feel it, but we can already see how the coronavirus has locked us inside our homes, inside our families, leaving us alone with our husband or wife, with our children, with all our problems.

We start to look at life in a completely different way because the future is covered with uncertainty. And even now, with the easing of the quarantine and seemingly returning to normal life, we do not know what will happen, and we are afraid of a new wave of the coronavirus. It is possible that there are many other dangerous viruses besides it.

We must understand that all this comes in order to make us one humanity. And most importantly, to organize women to unite and lead the world. If people now spend more time at home, it means that women receive huge power.

Many will lose their jobs completely, others will work from home via the Internet, meaning, men will be at home most of the time. And if everything is concentrated in the house, then, of course, a woman will have a more important, high, and decisive position. The house is run by the woman, not the man.

And so, if we act wisely and delicately, women can gradually draw men to the correction of the world, which is already bound to come and is approaching. We have no choice. We need to explain this to our men and convince them to participate in it.

A woman should, as a mother, take care of her children and her husband in order to guide them in the right direction toward correction. And then, we will definitely be able to achieve peace in the family and peace in the world, as well as rise to connect with the Creator.

So, the last generation will be the time of the woman if she can fulfill her role. If not, we will have to move toward correction through blows and suffering.

“Segregation Of The Hearts” (Newsmax)

My article in Newsmax: “Segregation of the Hearts

Between what seems to be a hopeless battle against the coronavirus, a trade war with China, a rancorous election year and riots all over the United States, it seems as though America has really got it bad this time. The choices now are clear and simple: Keep trying to put out each fire separately or accept and finally embrace the differences and rejoice in the benefits that they give to the nation.

Currently, the chasm between blacks and whites in America is insurmountable. It has not been bridged since the liberation of black people from slavery and it will not be bridged at any time in the future if America continues to tread the same path. Even without official segregation, the segregation in the hearts reigns high on both sides and this is the heart of the problem.

All people and nations are different. They are not better or worse because of their color, character, tongue or culture. In fact, whatever the ethnicity, deep down, we are all selfish to the core. This is human nature, or as the Bible puts it, “The inclination of a man’s heart is evil from his youth.” The question isn’t who is right and who is wrong, since when people act out of hatred, they are always wrong. They always feel that they are right, but they are always wrong because they want not only to undo injustice, but to take revenge and humiliate the other side. If you don’t believe me, take a look at the riots in your city and decide for yourself whether they are protesting the death of George Floyd, or venting their hatred and violence.

The situation is even tougher because an election year always highlights the differences as parties try to draw votes by fanning the hatred between ethnicities and faiths. But it seems like America has no choice; it is on the brink of collapse. The situation is extremely volatile, and caution and care are mandatory at this point.

Americans must recognize that the factions of society are all interdependent and can’t live without each other. America consists of whites, blacks, Hispanics and countless other ethnicities and faiths. In such a state, tensions are bound to happen, and the only option is for all to learn to live together.

And by learning to live together, I am not referring to the separation and hostility that exist today. Together means that each element in American society brings its unique qualities to the common pot and fuses into the American whole which is bigger, more beautiful and far more powerful than any of its individual parts could be on its own.

The power of American society is in its diversity; it just hasn’t realized it. Each facet has its unique beauty, qualities and characteristics. When you employ these unique traits for the common good, America can literally achieve whatever it wants, if it only decides to work as a united nation rather than as a fractured landmass.

Perhaps the best example of collaboration of different elements is Mother Nature herself. When you look at any being in nature, you’ll find that it consists of countless unique organs. Even dual organs such as lungs are not identical. At the same time, the organs are all equally contributing to the body everything they can to sustain its well-being. Despite the differences between the organs and sometimes even complete oppositeness, there is no hatred among them. On the contrary, there is support and appreciation among them or they wouldn’t be able to collaborate in maintaining a healthy and vibrant body.

As it is in all of nature, so it is in America or in any country, for that matter. Whatever factions are in it, they are there as organs and exist so as to work together for the benefit of the entire country. Any other perspective will and does, yield endless fighting and eventual disintegration. Now we can see more clearly than ever that America’s choice is to rise above the hatred and collaborate for the sake of the bleeding nation or let it bleed until there is no nation.

On The Threshold Of Renewal Of Humanity

laitman_537Question: Studies have proven that up to 60% of the human genome is modified by viruses. That is, the coronavirus is, in fact, the carrier of structures that are very close to the proteins of our cells.

There is a hypothesis that nature, with the help of the coronavirus, is performing a global reconstruction of humanity. If so, what should we, as humanity, become?

Answer: I do not know. It is of no interest to me. According to what the science of Kabbalah says, we are in the last generation, that is, we are approaching the state wherein we will have to rise above egoism and begin to explore higher properties, levels, layers of nature, where we are outside the body.

There is no inanimate, vegetative, or animate matter there, there is nothing but our consciousness. And all the previous layers of matter will disappear from our feelings and cease to exist. We will come to a world where there is only consciousness.

Question: Is this the reconstruction of humanity? Will humans be different?

Answer: Yes, a new humanity. Such a state is called the last generation. This is what we are going through now. It will continue for some time until the blows of nature and our correct interaction with it will raise us to a level where we will exist only in our consciousness.

Question: Does it mean that there will be no bodies but only the totality of all our desires and thoughts?

Answer: Yes. There will be no sensation of corporeal bodies, qualities, and forces. There will be only consciousness. It will be common for all and everyone will have their own. As it is written in the Torah that “the spirit of God was hovering,” but there is no matter yet.

Remark: It is interesting. It is similar to viruses. I read that they also live in colonies, they have common consciousness, and they understand each other. Can we become a modified virus?

My Comment: We can become the individual souls that interact with each other in this way, forming one common perfect system called “Adam.”

New History, According To The Program Of Nature

laitman_271The coronavirus spread us apart in different directions and made us feel how far we are from each other. It revealed to us the truth about how we try to separate from each other and at the same time completely depend on each other.

In other words, the virus gives us the opportunity to think about what our correct connection should be. If we unite people, awaken a good and strong desire in them for the right goal, then we change our history, our state.

There is no other way to improve the situation, not demonstrations, nor protests, nor demands will help. After all, the government does not have the means to give the people what they want. You can print more money, but there will be nothing to buy with it. Therefore, the main thing is to organize human society correctly, and first of all to provide everyone with food, medicine, clothing, and housing.

And so gradually a person is provided with everything necessary to be able to exist with their family and children. There will be other attacks and viruses that will force us to defend ourselves and to build life correctly. If all this comes from above, it will certainly lead to good changes.

Any system, whether socialism or capitalism, wraps itself in the egoism of man and becomes destructive. The Soviet people suffered much more from socialism than other people did from capitalism. The proof is that in the end they left their socialism and themselves moved to capitalism, which is not good in itself, but still better than what it was.

Socialism, which Baal HaSulam writes about, implies something quite different: a society, a social system, which primarily cares about the people. It did not work and it will never work if it is wrapped in the egoism of a person. Only if you purify a person from his egoistic nature and form a concern for others, for the people, in him, then it will work.

But it is impossible to remove egoism from a person because the Creator placed this force in him. It is possible only with the help of integral education and the upper light to organize this egoism so that it works correctly. This requires the support of the entire society and the upper light.

We live in the last generation before the correction, but it may last for many more years. We will have to learn how to implement the method of correction in humanity, which is egoistic from birth, and therefore, any form of society that is beautiful in theory—socialism, capitalism, communism—in practice turns into egoism, and therefore, will not succeed.

It is only through the reforming light that our nature can be corrected and society properly organized. We will not do anything ourselves, our job is only to attract the reforming light that will do it for us.

If we connect egoistic humanity with the upper force that will correct egoism, we will get a correct, good result, above egoism. And to do this, we need to organize a large group of pioneers who will show everyone else how to advance.

This is the only way to succeed, according to a program that exists in nature, and not invented at a meeting of some committee. There is already such a precedent in history because in the time of the Sanhedrin, between the First and Second Temples, there were times when society lived according to the correct laws.

New Life 1200 – Communication In Relationships

New Life 1200 – Communication In Relationships
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

Rather than blaming, putting down, or confronting others, we need to find a way to communicate so that the other person can receive it. We always want to be right, but by conceding to an angry person, one disarms them immediately. Every fight can be stopped with a kiss. Children also need to be allowed to express all of their emotions, including anger. Accepting others as they are without wanting to change them is important. Instead, my focus should be on changing myself.

New Life 1199 – How To Approach People
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

A Kabbalist is an expert in approaching people. He finds, within himself, something similar to the other person and gives them the feeling of being understood, known, and agreed with so the other can open up. A Kabbalist listens with interest, knows what the other wants to hear, and expresses joy from the relationship. A Kabbalist shows that his heart is open to receive the other.

Child-Free Leaders

The leaders of the EU’s four pillars— Germany, England, France and Italy—don’t have kids. It means that a large number of people who are making decisions about Europe’s future, have no personal interest in this future. One view states that they simply struggle for power, to rule the world without doing anything for it, and that personally, they have no one to build a good future for.

What does Kabbalah say about this phenomenon of child-free leaders?

Today, we find ourselves in a world where people who rule countries do not relate to them as their home. According to the Torah, one cannot hold a governing position without a family and children. However, in our case, we deserve the situation that has appeared. The child-free leaders of Europe demonstrate to us who we are and how we treat the world. We don’t really care about what happens tomorrow. We mechanically relate to the world, inconsiderate of the consequences of our intentions and actions.

Why? It is in order for us to arrive at the recognition of evil, i.e. that the human ego that aims at self-benefit at the expense of others is behind every human thought, decision and action. Once we reach such a recognition of evil, we can then work to build good over it. The world needs such enlightenment.
