In each of us there are desires of all levels of development: inanimate, vegetative, animate, and human.

At the human level, within us, there are desires of all types of people that we see in our world.

But in fact, this is not the world, this is me. Therefore, there are robbers, liars, good people, righteous people, wise men, and fools within me. This is all me.

It only seems to me that this vast world exists, but in fact, it is only a representation of my inner desires and qualities. They are depicted to me in the form of inanimate, vegetative, animate, or human images in my four levels of desire.

Depending on how I see the world, I can understand how I am corrupted or corrected, good or bad. Meaning, which of my desires I should correct.

If I correct my attitude to the world, I correct myself. It is by seeing the world outside of myself, I much better understand what is evil and egoistic within me and how to achieve good and bestowal toward what seems external to me.

Conversely, by correcting myself, I see that the whole world gets better.

There is no world; it just seems to me that all this exists, like on the cinema screen.

Question: If a certain number of your students were in spiritual attainment, would it alter and strengthen the whole process that both the group and the world are undergoing?

Answer: The world would also be drawn to this and would understand the essence of our problems or at least it would make fewer mistakes. It would want to listen to those who understand the universe in full scope with all its processes from beginning to end as well as in its depth.

Then the world will follow such people who will explain how to act to quickly reach a spiritual state because this is the goal of our development, the purpose of our existence.

When we all begin to unite on such a scale, we become integral and break free of the hold of time, space, or motion. We enter the next degree, the next dimension called “man.” But today, based on our development, we are not there yet.

Question: What is the difference between group prayer and individual prayer?

Answer: It is an entire system. The fact is that if we turn to the Creator, then it is very important for us that our prayer be collective and mutual, and that it comes from many people, not from one person.

When a person connects with other people, he tunes himself in such a way that the Creator can hear him. If he asks alone, then his prayer is ineffective.

Question: Do you mean being with other people physically?

Answer: Not necessarily physically. The main thing is for a person to feel that he is connected with the others and wants to combine his request with the request of many people.

Question: There is even a prayer called “The Prayer of Many.” Explain what this means. That is, should I pray for many and not for myself?

Answer: Yes. When a person asks for many, this is the most effective prayer.

Question: What do you need to ask?

Answer: For goodness, correction, coming closer to the Creator, and so on.

Question: You said that a person does not feel most changes. Can a person somehow influence this process?

Answer: In no way can a person influence what one does not feel! He has no approach to this. Therefore, we are completely powerless here.

Question: In principle, a person does not feel any science. But he goes to  university, they give him an approach, he begins to try it, and gradually his feelings are built up in the same way as understanding.

Can there be some approach here to correctly feel the changes, the next states, and the next goal? Or are we just running the way we always do and that is it?

Answer: We are rushing through the ether at a tremendous speed, and all of it is moving no one knows where. How, why, and what will happen in the next moment we do not know. Therefore, all our movements are based only on the assumption that the future will be approximately the same as the past, with a small margin of error. That is how we live.

In the Introduction to The Book of Zohar, Baal HaSulam writes that although it seems to us that everything is happening before our eyes, it is clear to anyone with reason that all these pictures exist solely inside our brain.

Only when we manage to achieve such an understanding will we begin to gradually approach what the science of Kabbalah speaks about. Therefore, The Book of Zohar is hidden from us, and we do not know how to open it and read it. After all, the key to its understanding is the correct perception of reality.

The Book of Zohar must be approached only through internal concepts by imagining everything told in it within oneself, all the definitions, sounds, worlds, spiritual objects, souls, mutual relations, and especially the parameters of perception of reality: world-year-soul, above time, movement, and space.

If we perceive the text as unfolding into a scheme of relationships of forces and properties within us, then we will gradually reveal ever deeper inner states in ourselves. Then it will become clear to us that this external reality does not exist, no matter how real it may seem to us, that it exists externally and is not subject to us.

It is only now that I am under the delusion that it is not me who creates this reality, but it itself unfolds in front of me, it existed even before my birth and will remain after my death. We must try to change all these views until we begin to understand what The Book of Zohar wants to explain to us.

The entrance to The Book of Zohar, the key to it, lies precisely in the transfer of everything into oneself according to the principle “Man…comprises the entire world.” Therefore, it is possible to understand whether I am studying correctly by the extent to which I expect to feel and reveal all my future inside myself.

Question: Déjà vu is a state when a person clearly feels that he has seen or heard something somewhere before. How does this happen?

Answer: The fact is that when the brain begins to compare different things, it seems to a person that this has definitely already happened, and this, and that, and one begins to embed one video fragment into another, one picture into another. So it turns into “déjà vu.”

But, on the other hand, there is also premonition, foresight, when a person (thanks to one’s intellect or sense of being in the system of nature) feels that such and such an action should happen now. He begins to feel the thoughts of others or to anticipate some waves coming to him. And all this is because we are in one unified system of nature and can guess the next event by some preliminary signs.

There are people who have developed this feeling, like Messing or Bedouins in the desert. The sense of nature in them was developed very strongly, particularly in Messing, for years ahead. He could simply predict because he felt that such events would happen. But that does not mean he could change anything.

And Kabbalah allows us to mitigate the upcoming events. They will happen anyway but in a milder form. It depends on whether we will unite between us, whether we will treat each other and our progress kindly, or leave the whole matter to our egoism, which naturally will torment us.

The main thing in reading The Book of Zohar is the intention. After all, by reading this Book, we attract the greatest light, if we are able to do it.

In everything written by Kabbalists, there is no stronger light than in The Book of Zohar. That is why it gained such fame and popularity, and at the same time throughout history, it was hidden, and so many things happened to it.

Only now it is revealed because it is a source of light that returns to its origin. Therefore, it does not matter what exactly we read in The Book of Zohar, because in any case, we do not understand a single word correctly. But we want to penetrate into the same picture, to feel it, and not to understand it; it is not given to us to understand it with our earthly mind. We strive to enter it, to open it up.

After all, we are talking about Kabbalists who have revealed the spiritual world and told us about what they discovered there, like in an adventure novel about travelers discovering new lands and islands.

This is how Kabbalists tell us about what is happening in spirituality. They describe what inner tools they reveal it with, and at the same time talk about what they see and feel. That is, they talk about the actions they perform and what they reveal as a result of these actions.

We look, read, listen, and do not understand anything, but we aspire to feel these states ourselves, to live in them. Like children who read books about exciting adventures and experience the adventure together with the heroes, all this was only in our imagination.

Here we enter the spiritual world for real and feel it even more strongly than we perceive ourselves in this world now. It is our current perception of this world that is the most distorted and clouded compared to everything else.

In spirituality there is amazing clarity and transparency that is impossible to imagine, there is the deepest understanding of all events and the forces behind them, the causes and effects, the source of everything that happens, and the connections between everything that exists.

This is what we should strive for when reading The Book of Zohar—to stop being old men, but feel like young children, carried away by a book about exciting adventures.

Question: How does a Kabbalist attract spiritual reality to himself?

Answer: He does not attract it. He needs to build it in himself. Spiritual reality does not exist! There is no spiritual world, there is no heaven, hell, there is nothing! You have to create all this yourself. Then it will exist. The one who does not create it for himself does not have it.

Question: But there is some form or formula. How is it created?

Answer: There is a formula by which it is created, but not a form.

Question: Do all Kabbalists, using this formula, perceive reality differently?

Answer: No. This reality is felt as one single whole, and they feel themselves existing in it because they have an equivalence of qualities with it. But everyone feels it in his own way, as each of us feels this world in his own way.

Comment: The point is that it does not exist, but still its perception is automatically given to us in our heads.

My Response: It is because instead of you, nature itself forms an egoistic image within you, an egoistic desire in which you feel it. However, a spiritual, altruistic desire, you have to form by yourself.

Question: How do we all form some kind of reality together when, let’s say, there is a congress?

Answer: We must gather together, help each other with our thoughts and aspirations, and make an effort so that we would want to reach the quality of bestowal and love. Then, in this common quality, we will begin to feel the upper world. Each one to the extent that he has invested in it.

Question: This is a cumulative process. Nevertheless, some amount of effort should be accumulated inside a person. What should be the limit so that a person is ready to just burst?

Answer: He receives what he wants just before he bursts. But only if he is bursting from the desire for connection and love, from the desire to bestow and fill others.

Question: You gave an example of how a person neutralizes what is above him because a person’s egoism does not allow him to see something better. Is that why we do not see many things at all?

Answer: Of course. Our egoism hides them from us. There also are things that are given to us specifically so that we worry about them. They are given to move us forward.

Question: What exactly do we not notice at all? What is this about?

Answer: There is an egoistic desire within you that draws a certain projection against the background of light, i.e., this world.

This is what you see. You do not see anything better or worse. Egoism draws the so-called HaVaYaH, the whole Kli (vessel), on the inanimate, vegetative, animate, and human levels. This is what is drawn for you at this primitive level.

You cannot attain the next level because it must already be in accordance with the law of nature. The law of nature is the law of bestowal. You, however, are in your egoistic desire to receive.

Apart from your small level on which you exist in egoistic desire there is nothing else. So you grow at this level, develop evolutionarily, and reach a certain point where all of humanity must rise to the next level. To do this it requires a methodology, which has now been revealed.

Question: What does it mean to “see”?

Answer: It means to see with completely different senses, which are called Keter, Hochma, Bina, Zeir Anpin, and Malchut, just as in our world there are sight, hearing, smell, touch, and tactile sensations.

But these are extracorporeal sense organs, outside the animalistic body. Therefore Kabbalists have two levels of sensations: material and spiritual.

Question: What is deja vu? Is it a burst of memories or some kind of recorded program that a person sees?

Answer: There is nothing supernatural about deja vu. It is just how our brain digests everything. We do not enter either the past or the future, we are in the present all the time. Only this present can be accelerated with the help of a stronger influence of the upper light.

The light constantly acts on the desire it has created. Under its influence, the desire gradually develops in leaps, since it consists of four stages of development: still, vegetative, animate, and the human level. All four stages exist in still objects, plants, animals, and humans.

The desire develops to the fourth stage and then there is a qualitative leap. Then comes the next development in four stages, and again a qualitative leap, and so on. The light influences this desire evenly all the time, which develops qualitatively and quantitatively.

At first, the development of stages one, two, three, and four occurs mainly quantitatively. And when it goes to the next four stages, there is a qualitative leap, although quality and quantity are always interdependent on each other.

There is no sorcery or magic in Kabbalah but only one thing. When you understand how the world works, what you are going for,  and you connect physically in advance, do this training, expose yourself to the influence of the light, and realize that you are working with it, you attract it, you want it, and you know that the light is working to put you together with others.

By making such attempts, you accelerate the influence of the light on yourself because you, yourself take an active part, although a very small one, but still such that the light has a more effective impact on you. This is all that Kabbalah can do, nothing else.

Just like in our world, when raising a child, we give him some exercises, i.e., we accelerate his development along a kinder path. Of course, he will live out his years anyway, he still has his own program, and his fate depends on others anyway because we are all interconnected, but we are trying to provide him with the best tools for the path of life.

The same is true on the spiritual path. There is nothing special here. That is how we work. This technique is called Kabbalah—accelerating our development in a good way.

I hope that the uniqueness of this system will finally be revealed and will allow us, like a small child, to quickly walk on a good path at a good pace, to gain intelligence, strength, and in good health, in good connection with others to come to a good result and not look for it in the dark, like little lost children.
