Question: What can you do if you don’t even feel the initial response to what Baal HaSulam describes here internally?

Answer: In order to feel what Baal HaSulam speaks about we need to be sensitive. This means that if you are on the same frequency the wave is transmitted, then you hear it but if you are on another frequency, you will not be able to receive it.

It is as if you are in a car that is equipped with everything that you need—an antenna and a radio—but if you don’t turn the button and don’t tune the radio to the wave you desire, you will not hear it. Although the wave has already been received by the antenna and entered the radio, it didn’t go through the part in the receiver that is responsible for the identification of the frequency. It is not tuned to the right frequency so that it can be compatible with the frequency that is sent to you.

It turns out that Baal HaSulam writes in a certain frequency and for the time being you cannot perceive it. You can feel sorry about that and think about how you can calibrate yourself and become more sensitive to this frequency, but this doesn’t mean that you have to torture yourself and be unhappy, but rather that you have to be in joy!

Question: Why does a person have to openly say: “The world was created for me?”

Answer: A person has to discover that the world was created for him, that everything in him and around him, and that all the attributes and the actions he sees are aimed at and lead to the correction of his soul, but it’s only if he uses all this correctly and there is nothing else.

Everyone is facing the world of Ein Sof (Infinity), but he perceives this Ein Sof as the picture of this world. If he attributes all the states to the world of Ein Sof according to the principle of “There is none else besides Him,” “the good and the benevolent,” and if he gathers all the times into one point, realizing that they all refer to one idea and that they all lead to one root that returns us to one goal, then he will be able to say openly that the whole world was created only for him.

Everyone should do that: Everyone has his own world since he discovers the world in his desire; he discovers that everything else is his own mental strength and he is the only one who has freewill. Now it seems that there are other forces in the world beside him, but this is only because he hasn’t reached the recognition and the decision that the whole world is inside him, depicted in him and is meant for him, so that he will be able to reveal the general unity.

Baal HaSulam, “Speech for the Completion of The Zohar“: We should understand what Dvekut (adhesion) with the Creator means. After all, the thought has no perception of Him whatsoever. Indeed, our sages have discussed this question before me, asking about the verse, “and to cleave unto Him: How can one cleave unto Him? After all, He is consuming fire.”

And they replied, “Cleave unto His qualities: As He is merciful, you are merciful; as he is compassionate, you are compassionate.

If we change several attributes in us by turning them from “in order to receive” to “in order to bestow,” how does that enable us to understand whom the Creator is? And, what is more, how does it help us resemble Him? How do we acquire this resemblance? How do we adhere to Him? After all, it is impossible to touch Him. So, how do inner “tricks” allow us to resemble someone who we don’t even see and with whom we cannot identify? How can we understand the principle of “from Your actions we know You?” How do the inner changes lead me to Him? How is it possible to love others if it isn’t my nature?

This is why I am not obligated to love directly, but I can correct my 611 desires, and, then, the 612^th correction will be the acquisition of the attribute of Hassadim to the fullest, and the 613^th correction will be “to receive in order to bestow.” So, it is impossible to obligate one to love, but it is from the corrections that precede it that we can attain it.

This is also how the resemblance to the Creator is attained. We fulfill and arrange all the necessary actions internally, and it isn’t the actions themselves that are important, but the clarifications we make regarding every detail. All the clarifications add up and accumulate and turn into spiritual vessels.

So, nothing is lacking in our work. We cannot reach the end of correction in one leap. In fact, we are already at the end of correction, but we don’t have the vessels to feel that. So, we must collect all the vessels along the way in order to finally reach this revelation.

Question: What does “to cleave unto the Creator” mean for us today?

Answer: I build His image inside me through the different discernments I make internally. It isn’t about external signs, but about an internal essence. The Creator is a spirit of bestowal that is born and fills me. It is an attitude in which I can produce to “bestow in order to bestow” or to “receive in order to bestow.” It is a reflection that I reflect from inside me, outward.

Question: How can we become similar to the Creator if we sometimes think that His actions are wrong?

Answer: Not sometimes, but constantly! What good is there in this world? Even the most evil villains can’t bear what’s happening in it. And yet, this world is created by Him.

The fact of the matter is that we regard this world as being a 100% opposite to the Creator. Why? It’s because we are opposite to Him. The Creator shines within us and His Light is absolute goodness. But when the Light falls on our “light-sensitive film,” it makes a negative that is opposite to the original. So, the more Light we receive the greater the darkness becomes, and vice versa. This is the way we see the world.

The Light draws various shapes on the screen of our desire to receive, and all of them are drawn on the negative. They are opposite to the Light. This is how the world is outlined within us.

How can we achieve similarity with the Creator? How out of our oppositeness can we see Him and not an imaginary picture? For that, we have to transform the “frame” and to reverse its contrast range. And if we do it with the first “frame,” we attain the first spiritual degree. Then, we will work with the second, the third, and all subsequent “frames.”

So, the entire Torah correlates with a person and lives within him. Every person is a small world.

This way, it all has to do with the “technology”: how to work internally so as to transform the imaginary darkness into light and the imaginary light into darkness. For this, I need to turn my own properties into their opposite: to transform a negative into a positive. This inner transition is the Torah, the Light that Reforms. This is what I need.

I feel the Creator within me. Even now I perceive Him in the still, vegetative, and animate levels of nature and in people. Everything around me is the Creator who “translates” Himself for me and copies Himself within me. I only have to decode this picture.

I work not with the world, the friends, or the Creator, but rather with myself, within myself. While doing so, I’m allowed to use the shapes, seemingly external ones, so as to decode the original image.

Question: Does an awakening from Above occur every minute, and what is the correct response to it on our part?

Answer: It isn’t only the awakening from Above, but it is actually all our existence that is possible thanks to the upper Light, which constantly sustains us, like a magnet holding a piece of iron in the air, and performs all sorts of actions on us.

There is no doubt about it, the matter of creation wouldn’t be able to exist, wouldn’t change, and wouldn’t feel itself without the upper Light. The Light does everything.

The right response on our part is to try to increase our sensitivity and our refined understanding towards what the upper force does with us, to understand how we should respond in order to be exactly like it, and to adhere to its attributes, to the changes that it makes and to its influence on us.

This means that in every bulge or indentation that the Creator makes in me, I immediately join His action and dress in it, like the desire of Nukva on the desire of the male. It turns out that we constantly cooperate in the general action, like partners. Thusly I should try to operate throughout my life, and then I attain the state of wholeness called adhesion.

Question: Baal HaSulam says in the article “A Speech for the Completion of The Zohar” that the soul is dressed in the body in this world. What does that mean?

Answer: A “body in this world” means the desire to receive for one’s self. It fills all the space here (see drawing), and there is also a point in the heart (•), the posterior of Nefesh of Kedusha. It is shattered, which means that it also wants to receive for itself, but it can be turned into the opposite state.

Question: Where is the desire with the point in the heart?

Answer: First you feel that the desire exists and begin to notice the fact that the desire has no corporeal place. This desire is the essence of the spiritual creation.

Today you see before you the still, vegetative, and animate levels of nature, as well as people. All this is the imaginary world. Don’t look at it, put it aside, it isn’t the main thing.

Besides that, there is a desire to receive in which there is a spark. We have to take care of these sparks. Give the imaginary world the basic necessities and you are not obligated to do anything more than that since it’s all an illusion. You should provide everything for your main part.

This means that you have to isolate the point in the heart from everything that is in the desire to receive. We should differentiate it from within the desire and bring it out as much as we can, separate it from the desire to receive, and develop it. The desire itself should be restricted and annulled. Then there will be a connection that will help it and then several other steps…

Question: How many classes will it take to shape the integral vision within a person?

Answer: I am sure that a sensation of the new attitude toward the world is formed within a person during the very first class. It can be a one and a half or two hour training directed towards connection and interaction with others.

Usually during the first class a person begins to feel that he already looks differently at people, at the world, and at himself. Suddenly he senses that there is not only “I individually,” but there is something else besides that. He becomes very attracted by this “besides me individually.” Suddenly he senses warmth. Through his interaction with others he feels confidence and relaxation as if he is in his mother’s womb.

Comment: But there is a lot of this type of training…

Answer: This is not psychology. It is impossible to confuse it with anything else because here a person obtains a totally different means of connection—outside oneself. He begins to feel the world outside himself, beyond his properties. It doesn’t matter what properties I was born with and what upbringing I received. Now I begin to rise above my original properties and above the properties I have acquired to date, and I begin to sense others, what they really are.

The integral environment inevitably gives a person additional senses. He begins to sense the world in a much broader way.

Question: Does Kabbalah have any proof for beginners? How can I be sure that I am on the right track?

Answer: You have no proof and no certainty. You can go if you want to.

This is the condition for entering the spiritual dimension. The alternative is suffering, which eventually will make you accept this condition.

If you are not able to nullify yourself and refuse payment, you will not enter spirituality. Haven’t you heard about this? You are looking for proof, incentives, this is understandable; things cannot be any other way. These objections are just, but there is no place for them. They only awaken in you so you would rise above them.

Even the support of your friends cannot be rewarding to you. It is because deep down in your soul you cannot stand them and would never unite with these people. So this is not about friendship and its benefits.

Simply today, you do not yet know what the First Restriction (Tzimtzum Aleph), the screen, and the Reflecting Light are. In reality you will never receive anything. Once you enter it, you will discover that you have always been there, but you only were able to perceive it the moment you became willing to reject everything. And you perceive it in the vessels of bestowal, rejecting for yourself, never for yourself, but only for others.

Question: Isn’t there anything to cheer us up?

Answer: I do not want to put glitter before your eyes. The group and our friends from all over the world that are connected to us must know the truth: Spirituality lies beyond human strength. When a person has a point in the heart, he understands that this is right. And even though sometimes it seems that an obstacle cannot be overcome, only this can be true and nothing else.

Thus you discover all the truth. Conversely, any appeal to the egoistic desire, any attachment to it, is not the spiritual path.

– But will I at least get something?

– Nothing!

– What do I get?

– You don’t!

– What about receiving spiritual attainment?

– Spiritual attainment is the antithesis to reception. You only reject, you do not want anything for yourself. Your entire enormous desire to receive, which you are not yet aware of, your entire egoism, you raise it from the “stomach” to the “head” and fully reject it. And thus you form the real “head,” the screen and the Reflecting Light. You do not take anything for yourself no matter what comes to you, you give everything to others. It is best when no one even knows what you did because this could also serve as a “bribe.”

And then you begin to feel what it is like to be on the degree of the Creator…

Your point in the heart must agree with this. It is the truth and it has the same qualities. And whoever does not agree is free to go. These people are supporters, but they are not Kabbalists.

Question: This means that we are striving to attain something that is not real?

Answer: Exactly. For you, for your vessels, this is unrealistic; it is opposite for you. This is why it is written: “I saw an upside-down world.”

Question: And yet, what will we achieve? What will we attain in spirituality?

Answer: Baal HaSulam writes in Letter #8 about it: “Everything that happens in the world has a worthy goal called ‘a drop of unity.’ When the dwellers of ‘corporeal homes’ experience all the horrors, through their absolute pride removed from them, a certain opening appears in the walls of their heart, which is not receptive at all according to the actual nature of creation. And they become worthy of the installation of this drop of unity in their heart.

And they will become like an impression from a seal, and they will see for themselves that, on the contrary, it is through these horrors that they come to attain the absolute, removed from alien pride. Unification with the Creator happens only there, and it is there where a drop of unity can reign over them.”

Question: Do you think that as a result of going through the integral education process a person could rise to the next level and remain a traitor, for example?

Answer: He will not remain a traitor! He will acquire new values, a new perception of reality, and it is the same thing, since reality is perceived by the sum of a person’s values. Why do I see one thing but I don’t see another? Why do I pay more attention to one thing and less attention to another? It happens according to the set of values that I have.

In fact, those I see as good are prisoners of their own sweet imaginings. These are in fact the most harmful and the toughest people, and they will be the last to reach correction.

In what way are they better than the thief you mentioned? They also steal, but differently. It is normal to take a few billions from the people for themselves; it means that they are successful. But if you steal are caught and put in prison, it means that you were not successful. Who is better, who is worse? Who causes others more harm and who causes less harm? We arrange everything in its place according to our set of values.

By acquiring a new sense, a new tool for understanding, a person will not behave like he did before. This is in fact what will take him out of his previous state.

A new system for feeling the world is created in him, and he already operates according to it. It is as if he has put on new glasses, has acquired new eyes, new ears, a new collective mind. He takes everyone into account, he cannot think about himself, but rather thinks about “us.” It is a new personality from a qualitative perspective, which up until now has never existed in nature. It is called Adam (human), a unified image.

Question: Suppose that during the integral studies in the group there is also a thief or a snitch among us. According to the system we have to rise above ourselves and to value the other, just as we value ourselves. But a person always justifies himself, so if we try to justify the other’s behavior, we will lose all our moral values, and we can’t destroy them without creating new ones.

Answer: I don’t destroy any moral values, but rather learn how to rise to my next level when “we” becomes more important for me than “I.”

How can I cooperate with all of humanity if it is always depicted to me as worse than myself: This one is stupid and the other is smarter than me, but that one is so good in something else, etc. So how can I relate to everyone integrally if I don’t learn how to justify them now? I have to learn! I am not saying the fact that we make excuses for them.

The purpose of our workshops is to create a global organ for the perception of the world. Then I will see that the world is different; I will see the mutual connections in it, the network. All this will be in me, and so suddenly when I look at the world, I will be able to say: “Oh, that’s the way it should be done!” Within myself it will not be so difficult.

Try to prepare a program to distribute all the food in the world now. Suppose all the cards were placed in your hands: There is a certain amount of food in the world that is found in certain places, now distribute it so that everyone will feel good. You will be torn to pieces; you won’t have enough human resources and not enough computer resources in order to carry this out.

However, if you have an integral perspective of life it will be natural for you, just like a mother who knows this is what I have to prepare for my baby and this is what I have to prepare for my husband, etc. And everything is ready! Why? Because she feels them. It is part of her; it is inside her. But if we have to do something for other people, we encounter a huge problem, and if it is for the whole world then all the more so.

So it is important to exit myself. I “train” myself with others. The more stupid they seem to me, the more their perspective is opposite from mine, the more I can exit myself and rise above myself to temporary agreement with them.

Question: What ends this temporary agreement?

Answer: The fact that I am creating a new integral organ of perception. I begin to understand all the other people and by the whole system that is created and born in me, I begin to see how I can cooperate with the whole world. I’m not going to correct anyone; it is impossible to correct the ego.

All the others participating with me go through the same stage. But we don’t correct one another! We rise to the next level.
