It Is Impossible to Become Wise Without Practice

219.03Question: Many famous people claim that in the pursuit of such fulfillments as fame, wealth, etc., there is nothing but emptiness. Can it be that life itself shows us by example that we should strive in a different direction?

Answer: It does not matter. We can even see this in the lottery, with its horrendous statistics. Most people who won millions ended up very badly: financial ruin, divorces, robberies, violence, and accidents.

See how nature plays with us. Who would not want to win today after all this? There is no such person who would refuse to win. If a person who knows what happened to the previous hundred winners is now given a lottery ticket and asked: “Will you be the hundred and first?”, he will answer: “Yes. This will not happen to me.”

Question: Why? Where does this idea come from?

Answer: Because no one is wiser than the individual who has gone through all these tests.

Question: So a person must still go through it personally, pass through it himself?

Answer: One must! Otherwise, one will not have this impression, he will not listen to you anyway. We must go through all these states, and only after they roll over us like a steamroller that kneads us, do we become wiser. It is impossible to become wise without practice.

But if a person can attract the upper light to himself, then he will pass through these states not physically under blows, but internally, rationally, spiritually. We must give him this opportunity. If he does not use it, then on the level of our world he must go through all this, as they say, to feel it on his own skin.

Nothing To Look Forward To In This World

222This generation is coming to a state where nothing is left for them to look forward to in this world. On one hand, the world seems to have become so accessible, but on the other hand, so insufficient that I just don’t know what I am doing here.

Therefore, today, the question about the meaning of life strikes everyone.

Almost half of humanity is in a state of concealed or overt depression to the point that depression has become a viral disease that infects both people and the animals living close to us. Antidepressants are now available even for cats and dogs. And from person to person depression is transmitted almost through the air.

In the near future, we will see an even greater descent. It began in the 1960’s when disillusionment and nihilism started to manifest.

Previously it seemed to us that they were characteristic only of special “golden” youth. However, this is a serious problem that we don’t know how to handle. Drugs, divorce, antidepressants, and private psychologists, one tries anything he can, and in the end, he is glad to be leaving this world.

From The First Page

209The most fundamental book on Kabbalah, The Study of the Ten Sefirot, begins with the question of the meaning of life. This book includes information about the entire universe from the moment of its creation to its correction and the achievement of the most complete state. It is very specific, covers everything, and is intended only for Kabbalists.

The “Preface to the Study of the Ten Sefirot” explains why a person needs Kabbalah and knowledge about all the worlds, their structure, interaction, and functioning.

From the first page, the reader is led to a very simple question. Do you wonder what the meaning of life is? What do you fill yourself with? If you are satisfied, go on living as you have lived.

But if you ask yourself this question and feel empty, if you ask about the meaning of life and do not understand what it is for and this question weakens you so much that it makes you depressed, gives you a lack of motivation to do anything, then this book is for you. It will tell you where you really are, what your purpose is, what you can really realize now, and what to achieve.

A person is offered eternity and perfection, otherwise it is not worth living.

Who Will Mold Happiness For Us?

65Question: One ancient parable says that God molded a man from clay and he had an unused piece left. “What else can I mold for you?” God asked. “Mold me happiness,” the man replied. God did not answer, and only put the remaining piece of clay in the man’s palm.

Where is that remaining piece of clay that a person can use to stop being an animal and experience oneself in perfection and eternity?

Answer: It is right here. It just needs to be seen.

Question: Where is this line? Where is this point?

Answer: I think that this is the central Kabbalistic book The Book of Zohar. All other Kabbalistic materials gather around it. It reveals how to reach happiness to us.

From the next level, the level of the Creator, we must attract the force that created us, led us through all metamorphoses through the all of history to our present state, and manifested itself in us and caused this question from within, so that we now attract this force to ourselves and begin to raise ourselves to its level.

But man himself must make the jump from the animal level to the level of the Creator. On all other levels—inanimate, vegetative, and animal—we rose automatically. Nature has constantly moved us and evolved. And now we must raise ourselves.

This is why Kabbalah is revealed. It is the instrument with which we must enter the new dimension. To become equal to the Creator is our goal; therefore a person is called “Adam,” that is, similar to the Creator. Only by achieving this will we fill all our voids and become truly happy.

That piece of “clay” that the Creator put on our palms is Kabbalah as a method of achieving happiness.

Question: In principle, can one say that the whole development of a person and his whole life is aimed at realizing the futility and insignificance of his desires?

Answer: But all these desires are correct. On the contrary, they lead us forward. Nothing needs to be cleaned up. Everything that is inside us and outside is specially created so that we can use it correctly and realize it in order to achieve the highest goal.

And then we will find that in each of us there is not a single bad quality, not one evil quality. The Creator kneaded “clay” in us with all sorts of little things inside so that everyone would occupy the most perfect state for themselves.

Until A Person Matures

202.0Question: Why do some people have a question about the meaning of life?

Answer: The fact is that they have already grown up enough for this and the rest have not.

In the end, everyone without exception must come to this question. We see that it arises in millions of people now. But there are those in whom it does not arise yet.

However, over time, this problem will become global. Even now psychologists, political scientists, and sociologists have no answer to this question, and therefore it is being hushed up.

Look at how much money is spent on advertising, on television, on all sorts of things, only for the population of the world not to fall and disconnect from everything because this causes anger, terror, and divorces. If we stopped this worldwide Hollywood today, the world would collapse.

Question: Does the question of the meaning of life depend on the level of inner development of a person?

Answer: Of course. It depends on the level of the development of his soul. We cannot put pressure on a person. If he is ready for this, we can tell him about Kabbalah. You cannot give a person something that he has not matured to it yet.

Understand What To Live For

538Question: When a question about the meaning of life is revealed in a person, is it important how one uses it? Is it important to understand that this is qualitatively a new desire that gives me the opportunity to rise to another level?

Answer: Yes, but only if you have a solution to the question: “What is next beyond this life?” Moreover, it must be reality and not what they promise you, for example, “If you kill fifty people, then you will immediately go to heaven with a hundred houris.”

Without taking anyone’s word for it, you can actually discover for yourself the next course of our existence beyond our body, you can exit it now and begin to comprehend the true reality. You still live in this life, and immediately its next level goes over the top here; you continue it and see that it is endless and perfect. Then it’s worth living and otherwise it’s not.

Today we do not want to have children. What for? Why? When I see what life is like and how people suffer, I invest in a child and educate him, for what? So that from the age of 15 he begins to feel unhappy? He himself subconsciously asks: “Why did you give birth to me?”

Therefore if I do not answer my question about the meaning of my life and my children, then our earthly existence must end there before the sun goes out.

Look at what is happening with Europe. There are negative demographics all around. Is it hard for us to live? Not hard at all! People lived in much worse conditions and gave birth to fifteen children. And now there is no point even in one child because a person is so empty inside that he feels this emptiness in his continuation.

And here it is in our generation that Kabbalah is revealed and provides us with the opportunity to reveal a perspective that will change our whole life.

Lack Of Direction In Life

963.1Question: In Vladimir Zhikarencev’s book The Path to Freedom, he writes that all diseases are the result of reflections on the question: “What is all this for?” and that you should drive such thoughts away from yourself. Is it really necessary to drive them away?

Answer: The problem is that humanity is constantly trying to get rid of these thoughts, but by very bad means and by this it is increasingly sinking. After all, in principle these thoughts come to us in order for us to rise above them, and they could become a lever for us with which we would achieve greater development.

Today, many in the world say: “Why do we need industry and technological development? Look what we have come to, we litter and kill the environment and we are destroying ourselves. What is this for?”

But we cannot stop nature and we cannot stop man. We just have to know how to use everything correctly.

Therefore if new voids open up in us, some new desires, and we don’t see how to fill them, what is here is not enough for us; we want something more, but we ourselves don’t know what, and when it will be, “more” doesn’t shine for us and we don’t see it in front of us, then we enter into depression, into some kind of problems. There is an absence of life guidelines.

A Point Like The Tip Of A Needle

232.07Why does the point in the heart awaken in some people and not in others? There is no simple answer to this because it is necessary to see the whole soul, namely, a heart with all the points in the heart.

Only then will we be able to understand everyone’s path and why one comes to it and the other does not, why such changes occur in the life of a person, groups of people, and the whole of humanity.

All this belongs to the upper governance. The Creator brings all the broken parts of the common desire, the common heart, closer, corrects them gradually, and leads to connection and correction.

The point in the heart is constantly connected to the Creator. And the task of a person is to open this point and develop this connection to such an extent that it turns into a conduit that connects a person with the Creator.

And then he will discover that he has not one pipeline but three, and through these channels he can maintain connection with the Creator, have a dialogue with Him, understand Him, and feel Him so much that he becomes an inseparable part of the Creator.

That is why the point in the heart is so important. A person can gradually correct all other desires that are initially corrupted and through them expand their connection with the Creator from one point in the heart to the whole heart. In this way, he approaches the Creator more and more until he becomes completely similar to Him, and then he is called man, Adam, meaning similar (Domeh) to the Creator. This is the goal of our development and everyone must achieve it.

The Creator created man similar to Himself and then deliberately broke him so that we could understand ourselves from the contrast of opposites. From these two opposite qualities, the oppositeness to the Creator and the similarity to Him that is obtained as a result of correction, we can understand the whole essence of the higher force, which is called the Creator, that is: “Come and see.”

After all, we approach Him from afar from the opposite form and gradually become like Him, just as kind and benevolent to others as He is.

My heart is the center of all my desires, thoughts, and aspirations. And if I correct it to love my neighbor, then thanks to this I begin to feel similar to the higher one.

The point in the heart has no width, depth, or height, no dimension. This is just one point of connection with the Creator. But if we want to stay only at this point for the sake of connection with the Creator, then little by little we begin to reveal the whole essence of the Creator through this approach.

We discover that we are actually in the ocean of the Creator’s love, feelings, and actions toward us. He created and does everything only for us. And all this comes to us through this point that has no dimensions, one point of connection like the tip of a needle.

If we want such a connection with the Creator and nothing else, then through this tip of a needle huge streams of upper light, wisdom, sensations, understanding, unity will open up to us, and turn us into an inexhaustible source too.

The Point Where Life Begins

238.01Behold that before the emanations were emanated and the creatures were created, The Upper Simple Light had filled the whole existence. (The Ari, “The Tree of Life”)

When a person opens a Kabbalistic book for the first time, it pierces his heart.

Finally he finds the answer to all his long searches, the silent cries of a torn heart asking: “Why do I live?” It seems that everything is there, but the main thing is missing: the meaning in life for the sake of which it would be worth living.

Therefore, to find the science of Kabbalah means to find life. And it may turn out later that it takes years, maybe a whole lifetime, for the actual revelation of this life, until a person finds a path, a connection with a higher power, and reveals the Creator. But the most important thing is that he already knows what it is! This life has meaning for him.

Therefore, when I found the science of Kabbalah, I began to write books about it and to talk about it wherever possible to anyone who wanted to hear about it. This continues to this day and it will continue for the rest of my life. Today I have many thousands of students.

What is the point in the heart that makes you cry when you hear the story of man’s first encounter with the spiritual? This story touches the deepest inner desire in a man.

On the one hand he rejoices that he has found a real purpose in life so as not to live like an animal that always only cares about its existence. He finds his guiding light and discovers that this world has a higher source, the Creator who created everything, and that the purpose of this life is to reveal the Creator.

The purpose of creation is for all people to unite, to come out of their egoism and reveal the highest power, the Creator, and thereby please Him.

The point in the heart is really only the point from which the word begins, like the first touch of the pen to the paper. And then there will be a continuation in everything that we want to write or comprehend. But all this begins with a single initial point, which has no width, no depth, no volume; it is only the beginning.

Our heart is a huge desire that includes all of reality. Everything that we can comprehend, understand, and reveal is inside our heart.

The heart is not a material concept; it is not a muscle that is constantly contracting and supplying the body with blood. Through the heart and the point in the heart, we begin to know the true reality.

The heart in the science of Kabbalah is called all the desires of a person of any strength and form from zero to one hundred percent. Everything good and everything bad that is in a person is inside his heart.

And among all desires, there is one that is called a point in the heart. This point is connected with something very high called the Creator. It is He who created the heart through which man perceives all reality. But through a point in the heart, a person can achieve a feeling and connection with his Creator.

This is why it is so important for us to open a point in the heart, and through it open the whole heart created by the Creator. Then we will be able to understand and comprehend why the Creator created all this. On this path we come to know and comprehend the Creator, reveal His plan and how we ourselves can take an active part in it.

What Would I Carve In Stone?

219.01Question: In order for something good to come true, you need to set a goal. Some experts say, “You need to sit down and write, precisely write, what you want to achieve. And then you will succeed. And write down your goals with your hand, with a pen, not on a computer,” even today. In this case you have a better chance of success.”

Why was the past more successful, when we wrote with a pen?

Answer: This is not the past. It just expresses your thoughts naturally. And it would be even better if you would take a chisel and hammer and carved it on stone.

Question: Does this mean so you will work hard for it?

Answer: Yes. You should do so.

Question: Are you literally saying this?

Answer: Of course. A person should invest himself in his future, in his plans. Therefore do it this way.

Question: And if he does it on a computer?

Answer: It’s very fast, accessible, and he can delete it and write again. It’s not the same.

Question: Is it desirable that it cannot be erased?

Answer: Yes. This is the first condition.

Question: What kind of goal should a person carve on a stone?

Answer: An important goal. It doesn’t matter if it’s paramount or not. But he should know that he is carving it. It is not for nothing that it is said that what is written with a pen cannot be cut down with an ax. A pen is the same as something carved on a stone.

Question: Tell me, do goals change in the course of a person’s life? Does he have to carve out another goal next?

Answer: Certainly. They change. It’s okay; let them change. This is called the “book of life” that he writes. Let it be so; it doesn’t matter. And do not erase what happened. This is his development.

Question: And what happens when he literally carves? What is going on inside him at the same time? Let’s say he accepts your formula and carves it out on the stone: “I want to reach true love.”

What is going on inside him at the same time?

Answer: That’s how he wants it to be. He is already investing himself in his future.

Question: Can we say that he carves it inside himself, in fact?

Answer: Yes, of course.

Question: Is it possible to carve a goal that does not change throughout life and to advance toward it?

Answer: It is possible, but it will still deepen and change. Maybe according to the external form that you carve, it will not change, but according to the content, it will.

Question: What goal would you set in stone today?

Answer: I would like to see all my students united together now. It would be a wonderful group who would hold on to each other all over the globe and who could really become a link between unhappy humanity and the mighty Creator. That is what I would carve.

We would feel that everything leads us to it.
