What Is The Meaning Of Our Reality?

537Question: What is the meaning of our reality?

Answer: The meaning of our reality is that we start revealing the highest true reality inside of it.

It is absolutely opposite to ours, it is based on the property of bestowal, love, and connection. And we, in order to comprehend it, must enter the period of the conflict of opposites.

That is, our egoism opposes us in this, but thanks to its opposition,  called “help against you,” we can cognize the highest reality.

Comment: In the phrase “help against you,” one part kind of cancels the other.

My Response: But it is necessary to realize that it is in this way that we rise above ourselves. But this is not the reality that you see in your egoism. You must begin to feel the second reality, which is higher than egoism. And it is thanks to the opposition of these two realities that you will be able to find the tools to control your destiny.

Question: Do you lead those who begin to study Kabbalah to this concept?

Answer: We lead them there literally from the first lesson. But what they hear and when they begin to perceive and realize it, this really depends on the people.

This is a special language—the language of understanding, the language of internal adjustment to what is said.

Question: So this breakthrough should take place? Do you need to cross this border?

Answer: Yes. It takes a long time. Sometimes ten years or more.

Today this is done in such a world that I think a real person will not be afraid of it. He will understand what is included in serious science. And in order to realize such things in oneself, it really takes several years.

This science is not easy, but it is the science of the foundation of our world. It doesn’t owe you anything, and you don’t owe it anything either. This is the same as studying any technical science: physics, chemistry, no matter what. That is, if you can learn, you can use it. If you can’t, then you cannot. This is your business.

There are no conditions here. There are no entrance exams, nothing. You want to do that? Go ahead. But keep in mind that at best you will still understand that nature is much deeper than we imagine it, and it is so magnificent and endless, not within our understanding, that it is worth trying to reveal it. At the same time, you expand the horizons of your life in time, in sensations, in space, in everything.

Question: You always say that this is the science of life. What do you mean by that?

Answer: This is the science that explains who we are, what we are, why, how we live, and how we exist. And the main thing is the science of who controls us. And this is the most important thing.

Question: And if I feel it, then what will happen to me?

Answer: Then you can control yourself, your destiny.

Come and try it. We do not invite you, we offer this to you.

The Advantage Of Psychology Over Philosophy

265Comment: Baal HaSulam in his article “Science of Kabbalah and Philosophy” welcomes empirical psychology in which everything can be measured and rejoices that the period of philosophy has passed because it studies abstract concepts such as God, the soul, and so on.

In particular, he writes: “The time of philosophers has passed, and the power of those who adhere to philosophical concepts has ended. For this, we should thank the researchers of empirical psychology, which built its foundation on the ruins of philosophy and won public opinion.

“Everyone already recognizes the insignificance of philosophy since it is not built on a real basis. That is why we are grateful to empirical psychology, which dealt a crushing blow to philosophy.”

My Response: We can learn about people, their behavior, everything that lends itself to our measurements, but we cannot rise above this. Empirical psychology still gives us the opportunity to exist on some real basis, while philosophy is just bare words.

Does A Kabbalist Need Psychology?

198Question: In what way, in your opinion, does psychology help a person and in what way is it powerless?

Answer: I think that psychology is necessary for all people who must understand what motivates them, what they are driven to by nature. If a person studies psychology, but in a measure that can help him understand himself and others a little, then this is the first necessary stage in order for him to correctly enter the science of Kabbalah.

Question: If he is already studying Kabbalah, would you recommend that he continue to study psychology? Or could it hinder him?

Answer: If a person is correct and seriously engages in Kabbalah, nothing can hinder him. Moreover psychology simply will not be necessary for him since everything that he begins to study in the science of Kabbalah raises him so much above the framework of our world that he immediately sees it, as if rising into the air, as if he soars above himself and sees everything from a height of flight.

Mastering The Quality Of Bestowal And Love

232.06Question: I spoke to many psychologists and tried to understand what the problem with psychology is. They say that it is very difficult to find methods of managing egoism because it is constantly growing, especially nowadays.

How do Kabbalists deal with the fact that egoism is constantly growing? How can we counterbalance it?

Answer: Kabbalists say that there is no need to counterbalance egoism, there is no need to do anything with it at all. You just have to work all the time to master the quality of bestowal and love, rise above the ego, and not stay on its level. That is the approach of Kabbalah.

By rising above egoism toward the quality of bestowal, love, connection, interaction, and communication with each other, we begin to understand how diverse egoism is, how strong it is, and how difficult it is for us to deal with it.

But at the same time, we reveal qualities in us that are opposite to egoism. And then, based on the combination of egoistic and altruistic qualities, we can understand both psychology and the science of Kabbalah.

Looking Into The Depth Of Nature

202.0Question: Many of the scientists you meet strongly support Kabbalah. Will they be able to help with disseminating the wisdom of Kabbalah, its acceptance, and growth?

Answer: Partially. The fact is that we do not need scientists to promote Kabbalah. We need people who want to discover the world in new sensory organs without the use of all kinds of devices.

Scientists, on the contrary, are conservative in this, they cannot work in any other way. They dedicate their whole lives to studying nature with the help of all kinds of accelerators, microscopes, telescopes, and so on.

Kabbalah says that we can and should study nature by changing ourselves: “Make a microscope, a telescope out of yourself. Start looking into the depth of nature by changing your qualities, and then you will be able to achieve this.”

The Object of Research Is Man

214The problem of modern science is that we have reached a threshold where we can feel, supplement, and control our senses. This is why all scientists say that science has reached its limits.

And Kabbalah says that in our five senses we have practically reached the limit, that we cannot see anything beyond it anymore. We do not need to invent new devices that can only slightly expand our sensory organs but expand the senses themselves.

Science cannot do this because it deals only with mechanical addition to a person. We need to change man himself, to develop him a little from the inside. This is what Kabbalah does.

Therefore, we come to the conclusion that Kabbalah should replace sciences as their continuation, and give an answer to how to expand the limits of our attainment and come to a state where we can develop a person so that one attains greater depths of nature.

In Kabbalah, the object of study is man himself. He can measure his changes by his own instruments, which are inside and not outside of him.

Existence From Absence

548.02The system of Yod-Hey-Vav-Hey (HaVaYaH) is a system of the four-stage descent of the Creator’s light, the property of absolute bestowal, love, and goodness to a state opposite to itself. This property of bestowal develops in the desire to receive and creates a huge egoistic system out of this desire.

Question: Existence from existence is Keter, the first degree. And where in this system is existence from absence?

Answer: The desire to receive is already inherent in Keter. We cannot study anything in which there would be no desire to receive or define some property that is disconnected from the desire to receive. Therefore we have no way at all to define something that does not apply to us.

Question: Is existing from absence the primary matter or is it the very last stage in the development of egoistic desire?

Answer: No. Existence from absence is already the emergence of four stages of direct light, when the last stage ends with the creation of a real desire to receive, which is opposite to the Creator. This is existence from absence. The desire to receive, egoism, was created precisely from the Creator’s desire to bestow, saturate, and fill.

Question: Does this mean that existence from absence is the complete opposite of the Creator in properties and not just a primary material, i.e., a general desire to receive?

Answer: Yes. But in this four-stage development there is a black point that the Creator created out of nothing. This is creation. The only thing created by the Creator is something existing, an egoistic beginning from nothing. And then everything developed according to the laws of nature.

Question: Are these laws also created by Him?

Answer: Yes, but these are the laws of nature. There is nothing special about them. The peculiarity of the entire system of the universe is that out of nothing there appears an egoistic point of desire, the opposite of the property of the Creator. The desire to receive for oneself in Kabbalah is called afar (dust), because it is incapable of independent life, reproduction. Since egoism thinks of nothing but existence and absorption of everything into itself, it cannot have development.

What Are Upper Forces?

562.02Question: What are upper forces? Are they angels, gods, or souls?

Answer: Kabbalah does not agree with anything that you can invent and deduce on your own. It rejects all this and claims there is no such thing!

There is a world consisting of two forces: positive and negative, egoistic and altruistic. On the corporeal level these forces are opposite: plus-minus, attraction-repulsion, cold-hot, etc.

On the human level, they are expressed by attraction and love, or by rejection and hatred. The entire structure of creation consists of these two forces all the way from the world of infinity to our world. Only they exist.

The positive force, the force of attraction, filling, and bestowal, is called the power of the Creator and emanates from Him.

The negative force appears in the world of infinity next to the positive force and emanates from its opposite. And these two forces shape the entire universe from top to bottom, all five worlds down to our world. And we, being at the end, in the lowest place, must take the negative force and transform it so that it will be similar to the positive force. That is our mission.

To The Feeling Of A New Nature

234The wisdom of Kabbalah speaks of what we do not feel but what we want to feel and we have the opportunity to. Kabbalah exists in order to introduce us sensually into the sensation of the upper world.

This world, in which the properties of bestowal, connection, and reciprocity reign, is opposite to our world where there are only the properties of rejection, receiving for oneself, and attraction from another of everything that is good and pleasant to me. Moreover, all this is embedded in every object of our world and happens automatically and instinctively.

Thus all the desires of our world are egoistic; all desires of the upper world are altruistic.

And here we need to understand how we can break out of our nature. This is similar to how a spaceship rises, breaks through the Earth’s gravity at the first, second, and even third cosmic speed, and flies away to the stars.

Therefore we must learn how this can be done with ourselves, how we can rise above the field of attraction of our egoism. And this is not just the Earth. Egoism pulls us from all sides in terrible omniscience, all-seeing, at all levels of our understanding, sensation, and awareness.

It works completely inside of us. We are in it. How can we get out of this bitter fruit? It is a big problem to get out of egoism, even to understand this, at least in theory, to agree with what needs to be done, and then find out how we can practically implement it.

I know the way. But at the same time, I cannot help another in any way, except with words. Because everyone has freewill, and each one must realize it. Only in this way can a person rise above oneself and cleave to the Creator.

We can do this with the help of study and causing, by certain actions, the attraction to the upper world on ourselves . We can help each other. But this is all external help. It is also internal, but still external, because I must enter the upper world with my strength, my conviction, my persistence, my burst of energy!

And no matter what we do, even when we create a certain environment of our own kind around us and organize everything as needed, all the same, when a person goes beyond his egoism, breaks away from it like a rocket from our planet toward another cosmic body—each time it’s a miracle.

This is the purpose of our life. What else could it be? To fly like Munchausen, sitting on the core, somewhere on another Earth-like body? And what will happen if we do that? We want to go to another space, to another dimension. It cannot be explained.

But still, we need to push people to read, to study, to work on themselves, because by this we excite a higher power that can pull us out of egoism and push us to the feeling of a new nature.

Two Degrees: Creator And Creation

219.01Kabbalah says that if something has arisen, it is from some preliminary state when nothing has happened yet. This state is the initial one for everything that exists.

We can only say that there was an upper force from which everything then happened. This we can consider now.

In Kabbalah, the upper force is considered a quality of absolute bestowal. When we consider the actions of the Creator in relation to the creations, we come to the conclusion that He is absolutely kind and does only good. All His care, all His actions, are aimed at creating creations like Himself.

The Creator created the creation “out of nothing” because it was His desire.

The material of creation is the desire to receive. There is no such desire in the Creator Himself. By His desire to bestow, by His intention to create, He created the desire to receive, because that was what He lacked. But since He Himself does not have such a desire, it is therefore called “existence out of absence.” So the desire to receive arose from the Creator’s desire to bestow.
