The Wonderful World Of Tomorrow

Dr. Michael LaitmanThe wisdom of Kabbalah is revealed specifically in our time because we are in year 5,776, which is at the end of a 6,000 year period of human development that began with the first revelation of the upper force to a human being.

So it is worthwhile for us to use the knowledge of this wisdom as rapidly as possible to leave all of our troubles behind and attain a completely different life. We see how the higher management influences us and constantly puts us into very difficult situations in order to obligate us to reflect on the question,  “What can help us improve our lives?”

Baal HaSulam wrote in the article, “Introduction to The Book of Zohar”, section 39: Now we have shown that the Creator’s desired goal for the Creation He created is to bestow upon His creatures, so they would know His truthfulness and greatness, and receive all the delight and pleasure He had prepared for them…

So where is all this?! Every person asks: “Where is this good or at least something that isn’t so bad?” And all of this is because we exist within our five senses and these limitations, and without evolving, we cannot attain what the Creator prepared for us. After all, they are not designed for this. We associate this life in which we now exist with our body. But this wonderful life and all the good that is prepared for us by the Creator belongs to our soul.

Question: Is this what is called the “world to come?”

Answer: Yes. But it is written: You will see your world in your lifetime (Berachot 17a).

We need to attain it here in this life and in this world. A person doesn’t acquire the next world after his death; he attains it here in our world.

Even now, we are in this infinite world, but we don’t feel it because our five senses of sight, hearing, smelling, taste, and touch lock us into this minute envelope called “this world.”

If we expand our senses with the help of the wisdom of Kabbalah, the wisdom of perception, and immediately depart from feeling this world, outside of its limitations, we feel the world to come, meaning the world that comes as a revelation. And there we discover all the pleasures that the Creator has prepared for us.

Baal HaSulam wrote in Shamati #75, “There Is a Discernment of the Next World, and There Is a Discernment of This World”: There is a discernment of “the next world,” and there is a discernment of “this world.” The next world is considered “faith,” and this world is considered “attainment.”

It is written about the next world, “they shall eat and they shall delight,” meaning that there is no end to the satiation. This is so because everything that is received by faith has no limits. However, what is received through attainment already has limits, since everything that comes in the Kelim of the lower one, the lower one limits it. Hence, there is a limit to the discernment of this world.

Faith is the new force that we acquire with the help of studying the wisdom of Kabbalah. We receive the power of faith, a unique sense that helps us open the borders of this world and begin to feel what is beyond it.

We expand the world just like a child who goes out of his room and sees a vast world: However, what is received through attainment already has limits, since everything that comes in the Kelim of the lower one, the lower one limits it. Hence, there is a limit to the discernment of this world.

Question: What limits is Baal HaSulam talking about here?

Answer: If we go out of our five senses and acquire an additional sense called the sense of bestowal, love, unity, and connection, then through that, we move to a wider world, a more expanded sphere than the one in which we feel our lives and existence.

It is called redemption when you go out of the framework of this world, like from a dungeon or prison where you feel that everything is pressuring you, is limited in time and space, and you cannot be free of all the troubles that crushes you within it, and so you go out into a spacious and wonderful world.

In What Way Is A Kabbalist Different From A Psychic?

laitman_281_02Question: In what way is the “sixth sense” that a Kabbalist acquires different from the abilities of a psychic?

Answer: There are some people in our world that are more sensitive than others. And they are called psychics because they can disclose various material phenomena that are invisible to others.

But Kabbalists are not involved with this. A Kabbalist won’t predict the future, manufacture amulets, or give blessings.

He is only concerned with the correction of the entire creation so that the forces that come into our world will act more favorably for everyone. If he were to be concerned about someone according to his choice: yes for some and no for others, this would no longer be bestowal and love for others.

A Kabbalist is concerned about everything being better for the entire world. He won’t allow himself to do something special for his relatives and for himself and forget about the others.

The “Mosaic” Of The Earth Is One Of A Kind

laitman_746_01In the News (gismeteo.ru): “The mineral composition of the Earth is one of a kind. The special distribution of the minerals is not found anywhere else in the universe.

“The original material of the solar system was composed of ten primitive minerals. Later, the planets, their moons and the asteroids of the solar system were formed from them. Now on the face of the Earth there exist more than 5,000 minerals known to science. The scientists traced the evolution of the minerals for 4.5 billion years with the help of a computerized statistical model. The simulations showed that the depths of the Earth are a mosaic of unique elements. The great diversity in the mineral world is explained by the fact that two-thirds of the minerals appeared thanks to the activities of microorganisms. So a complete planetary clone of the Earth will never be found.”

My Comment: Because all of nature, and not only our Earth, are adapted to the specific role for humans!

The Results Of 70% Of Psychological Studies Are Incorrect!

laitman_546_03In the News (nplus1.ru/news): “A group of psychologists tried to replicate 100 studies from all kinds of different branches of psychology published in the leading scientific journals.  They succeeded in replicating only 39% of these works to some degree of approximation to the original study. And meaningful statistical significance was obtained in only 36% of the works.

“The project was begun on the background of reports about forgeries, unclear explanations and errors in the area of the statistical analysis in the psychological articles. Because articles chosen for the study were only from the most respected journals and those that had gone through review, the scientists expressed an estimation that up to 80% of all studies in the field of psychology cannot be replicated.”

My Comment: This is natural because psychology is not a science. We cannot study our inner world because we cannot be above ourselves. Only when we rise to the next level of development, helped by studying the wisdom of Kabbalah can we understand who we are, studying and attaining everything about ourselves because through studying the wisdom of Kabbalah we discover the Creator, the force that creates and manages us.

Myths About Miracles

laitman_531_02-jpgQuestion: One of the myths about the wisdom of Kabbalah is that it is about magic, talismans, and other wonders.

Answer: This is indeed a myth. There is no such thing in the wisdom of Kabbalah. There are no red strings, holy water, or blessings—nothing!

Kabbalists only study and explore the upper system in order to become part of it, to enter the spiritual world, as it is written, “May you see your world in your lifetime,” and teach this to others.

When We Open The Book Of Zohar

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: When we start reading The Book of Zohar, why do you often ask: “Do you have something to ask from the Creator?”

Answer: Certainly, otherwise for what reason do you have The Book of Zohar? After all, why do you open it? It is to discover the truth. The truth is revealed only if you awaken the right line, which is love. When you awaken it, you must understand, feel, and discover that in fact there is no love within you, but only hatred. And further, it is such a hatred that you are not able to sit next to your friends.

In order not to remain indifferent to each other, it is necessary to demand that the Creator reveal all of this to us: the love, hatred, mutual cooperation, and the conflicts between us. We lack the third factor, which is turning and demanding! The Creator is a force, a condition, and a system that demands constant turning towards it. As long as this doesn’t exist, you must do a lot of work. There is nothing that can be done about it, since it is impossible to skip over these levels.

Is The End Of The World Coming?

laitman_928Question: According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, we are at the end of a 6,000-year period of the existence of our world; we are in the year 5,775. Does this mean that in another 225 years the end of the world will come? Will everything be destroyed?

Answer: Yes, that is what is written. But what does it mean that it will be destroyed? Our world will be lost; it will disappear from our feelings. For what you are feeling now seems to you as a reality in which you exist. It is a reality that we feel because it is created within our senses.

We humans perceive reality like this, but if you were clothed in other characteristics, if you had other senses, sight, hearing, tasting, smelling and touch, then you would discover reality in a completely different form. That is, the reality that you perceive is very subjective.

So with the help of the wisdom of Kabbalah you begin to change yourself, which is called correcting yourself; you begin to acquire all kinds of new characteristics and abilities, and it follows that you begin to see the world much more deeply than ordinary people.

In it you see systems and forces that activate it. Before you the walls of the world are seemingly opened wide and you see behind them the immense and amazing system of management and supervision that is called the “kingdom of the Creator” and you discover how these forces manage the world.

In all of their books, the Kabbalists explain how this system works. In particular, Baal HaSulam’s book, The Study of the Ten Sefirot that we study explains how these forces operate us and all the worlds, and how we enter into this system and begin to take the role of management upon ourselves.

Question: When they say that Abraham discovered that there is a single force that manages everything, do they mean that he discovered this system that manages all of reality?

Answer: Certainly! That’s the main idea. You are called Adam (Man) in accord with the future state where everyone will become similar (Domim) to the Creator.

To resemble Him means to learn, to attain, to acquire this entire system of management and supervision, and to take upon yourself the management of this system rather than the Creator. About this it is said: “And the children will return to their Creator.” It means that you will understand, feel, and discover the whole world for yourself.

All of the suffering of today, all the problems, and all the history of our world is designed to compel a person to discover and know why and from where he receives this suffering. All the suffering is only to push us to attain the higher system of management and participate in it to transform our lives for the better.

Kabbalah Is The Wisdom Of The Upper Reality

Discovering The Secrets Of Life

laitman_214Question: It seems to me that you need to be a very wise person to reach a discovery of the higher system that manages our world.

Answer: No, in The Book of Zohar, as well as in the writings of the Ari and Baal HaSulam, it is written that the wisdom of Kabbalah doesn’t require any special outstanding abilities or talents, and every person can attain it.

Just as you are aware and attain this life from what you see, so you also discover the system of higher management, begin to understand and see how it works around you, how people and yourself are activated, and how you can build a new world.

This vision gives a person many powers. First of all, he begins to feel eternal; his life does not end in a few decades. The person begins to feel life within the soul, not within the body. Our bodies belong to the animate level. Those that belong to the levels of the still, vegetative, and animate are limited to their lifetime.

However, the person who begins to resemble what is higher, the Creator, enters into an absolutely different plane of his existence called living the life of the soul. So, he begins to feel eternity and wholeness in his life within the soul.

To move from the corporeal life to the life of the soul while living in this world—meaning to begin to feel the world eternally and completely, understanding how to conduct himself, helping others to also attain a vision like this—is given to us by the wisdom of Kabbalah.

Question: You talk about existence on a higher level, but along with this does a person also begin to understand our world? After all, people are very confused today.

Answer: I have spoken about this more than once; in sum, the corporeal desires are what motivate a person: desires for food, sex, and family, which also typify animals, and the social desires for wealth, respect, education. These are three types of corporeal desires and three types of social desires.

But this is not enough because questions are awakened in us. What are we living for? Why are we alive? What is the meaning of life? What is its purpose? What is its secret? We cannot lock ourselves only in this life and say that there is nothing more. I live my 70 years and fill them according to my ambitions, and that is all.

We have developed. Especially in our generation we have reached questions that if we don’t find a solution to them, a person won’t want to live and will sink into despair. According to the process of the development of nature that works on us and influences us, we must discover the secret of life, its purpose and its essence. So, the wisdom of Kabbalah was revealed.

If the question grabs a person—beyond the desires for food, sex, family, wealth, honor, and knowledge, which typify this world—the question that is beyond our world, beyond our lives, and the person feels that he must discover it, he reaches the wisdom of Kabbalah.

There Is A Reason To Celebrate And Be Happy

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Every year we wish each other a good year, and at the end of the year it turns out that it wasn’t particularly successful. In what way are we mistaken? All of us want things to be good, but we don’t know how to do this.

Answer: We don’t understand that to the degree of our rapprochement with each other, we are approaching the higher power, the good and beneficent force. The formula is very simple: the closer we are to each other, the closer we become to the Creator.

It would seem that there is no simpler formula than this, but it is not possible to carry it out through human powers. And so the wisdom of Kabbalah was revealed to help in doing this through the higher power. The upper force will help a person in this way only, and not in anything else. It is only waiting for this request from us.

Question: If Adam already opened the way to the good life 5,776 years ago, why didn’t he show it to everyone? Why was it necessary to go through all the wars, exiles, and troubles through which humanity has passed for thousands of years?

Answer: Adam taught his method because the Kabbalists in all generations were followers of the students of Abraham. To this day Kabbalists study the discovery of Adam so that in each and every generation further and further new details were added to the study.

Kabbalah develops like every other science, and ultimately we received knowledge about what kind of upper world is found above us, how it influences us and manages us, and how it is possible to influence it from below to above.

We clarify that the upper world and our lower world are completely interconnected, and within our relationships with each other we discover the upper force driving both these worlds called the Creator. The wisdom of Kabbalah deals with the discovery of the upper force and the establishment of a mutual connection with it.

The problem is that it is possible to discover the upper force only on condition that we resemble and become equivalent to its characteristics, like everything else in our lives. I will not be able to understand another person if he is talking in a language that is unknown to me or he talks about things that are understood only by a professional, or we have such different perspectives that we cannot communicate.

All of our senses, sight, hearing, smelling, taste, and touch are arranged to absorb only what we are ready to perceive in the range of frequencies of their sensitivity. But we have no sensitivity regarding the upper world; we still need to develop this within us. And this is what Kabbalah teaches us.

And so there is a name for this, Kabbalah,  from the word, “LeKabel” (to receive); it is a wisdom about how to receive, grasp, understand, and feel the upper world. Adam left us this knowledge, and all the Kabbalists that came after him developed his discovery more and more and added to it, similar to how physics develops from generation to generation.

As a result, today there is a developed, unique, and powerful science in our hands that explains how we must discover the essence of life and its purpose practically, meaning to implement it. The Kabbalists from the past wrote about our generation, pointing to it as the “Generation of the Messiah,” that is, those who could draw upon all of the wisdom and use it, ultimately attaining and knowing the purpose of our existence on the face of this Earth.

Humanity has reached a state where it must answer this question, otherwise our situation will be hopeless. Kabbalah opens up all the possibilities within us, so we have a reason to celebrate the new year and be happy; we just need to correctly use the gift that we received from Adam HaRishon (The First Man), Adam.

The Wisdom Of Kabbalah Is Not A Religion

226Question: You receive a lot of criticism on your position that Kabbalah isn’t a religion and has no connection to Judaism. Please explain to me why the great Kabbalists who lived in our times Baal HaSulam and Rabash were Orthodox Jews and in no way said that God is just nature and not a personality.

Answer: Baal HaSulam explained this in the best way in his article, “The Essence of Religion and Its Purpose.” We know more from Ramchal (Moshe Chaim Luzzatto) about the wisdom of Kabbalah for people who are not Jewish. And all of the wisdom of Kabbalah speaks only about the development of love for others, and religion talks about the carrying out of corporeal Mitzvot (commandments).

The definition of the wisdom of Kabbalah is: a system to reveal the Creator to the created beings in this world. Religion doesn’t aspire to achieve the same goal (revelation of the Creator through love of others) as Kabbalah. Thus it is not the same thing.

Thus your proposal that God is a personality simply makes me wonder if maybe you are an idol worshipper.
