Teach Kabbalah

laitman_963.8Question: If we say that the point in the heart is hidden in every single person, then what do we need to do in order for it to be revealed in as many people as possible? Is it even necessary or is the existing small percentage already enough?

Answer: It is, of course, preferable to bring as many people as possible to work on themselves, to rise above their egoism, and to unite around the entire globe.

Thus, we would attract the divine upper light, which would purify, fulfill, and unite us so that we would perceive the meaning of this life and rise above our animal existence into an eternal state.

Therefore it is necessary, of course, to teach and disseminate Kabbalah.

Completing The General Correction

laitman_963.6Question: If only one person were left in the world who understands nothing while the rest have already understood everything, would you explain the method to him?

Answer: First of all, this could not happen. As more and more people in the world correct themselves, the field created by them will envelop the rest, and they will understand and value spirituality—the attribute of bestowal—more, and they will also aspire to it more.

That is why a hypothetical situation, where all but one person is corrected, is virtually impossible.

However, even if we assume that this could happen, I, obviously, would gladly come to that person and try to convince him to complete the general correction of the entire world, of all times. It is possible that I would succeed.

laitman_767.2The Method Received at Mount Sinai

Question: The method that the people of Israel received at the foot of Mount Sinai was given to them on condition that they would become “as one man with one heart.” What is this?

Answer: The condition “as one man with one heart” means to be in our connection as similar as possible to one common, unified upper force and to feel that we are unable to do this ourselves. When we invest a certain amount of effort into connecting, we develop a strong desire to become similar to this force.

Such an aspiration to a state where we together want to become as one common whole awakens the upper light. The upper light affects the person or people who awakened it, and it performs certain spiritual actions upon them; that is, it gives them the strength to connect, to rise above their egoism.

Question: What was new in this method that Abraham did not have?

Answer: Firstly, egoism changed. If egoism is bigger, not in quantity but in quality, then, of course, a different method and other actions are required.

The new egoism requires new means in order to rise above it, to start working with it, and to connect with each other precisely because of it, despite the fact that it separates people.

Therefore, this method is called “the method of connection.” The force that we need to apply in order to connect is called “the upper light” or “the Torah.”

Passing Spiritual Knowledge In Times Of Abraham

laitman_942Question: How did Abraham teach the tens of thousands of people who gathered around him if there was not yet a Pentateuch that set out the commandments?

Answer: At that time, people were at a level where they understood it from within themselves.

Comment: Abraham wrote several books of which only The Book of Creation (Sefer Yetzira) has reached us. I have read it many times, but it does not say anything about connection.

My Response: In The Book of Creation, Abraham wrote about the upper force that influences people. He wrote this book so that we could understand the upper force the way he described it.

To do this, we must have the appropriate tool. This tool is connection with other people in which the upper laws are revealed.

Question: However, it was not written anywhere specifically about connection. Was it obvious to them?

Answer: Yes. This is called the “Oral Torah,” which Abraham explained to his followers.

Question: Rambam wrote: “Abraham sowed this great principle in their hearts and wrote books about it.” However, these books describe what a person feels in connection with the Creator, with the upper force of nature. Does it mean that communication between people was passed by word of mouth?

Answer: This is a practical wisdom that Abraham passed on to his disciples Isaac and Jacob.

Question: Were they not his children?

Answer: You can call them “children,” it does not matter. However, Kabbalah refers to the disciples through whom the method of correcting human egoism was passed onto the entire nation, to the entire group of people who gathered around Abraham in Babylon.

All this is described in the Torah through one person. First what happened to Abraham, then to Lot, and so on. Where are the other tens of thousands of people that gathered around him?

The fact is that description does not take into account the number of people Rambam spoke about, but only their spiritual level. The spiritual level is already 70, 50, 10 people, and so on—it does not matter because in spirituality we do not count the number of heads, but the strength of their connection with each other.

Connection Tool: Dissemination

laitman_294.1Question: One of the means for connection is joint work on dissemination. At least in the recent period, all Kabbalists wrote that the wisdom of Kabbalah needed to be spread to humanity. Does this joint work also build the group?

Answer: Yes. This work has been carried out for several hundred years. However, from the twentieth century onward, and even more so in our time, it is clear to everyone that Kabbalah must give humanity a program for its correct development. Otherwise, humanity will again come to nuclear war, to huge defeat, shattering, and self-destruction.

Therefore, taking care to pass this information to other people, to the world, we release newspapers, publish books, make films and video clips. This joint work brings us closer together.

Bnei Baruch—We Are Responsible For The Whole World

laitman_294.3We live in a special time when the world begins to feel that it must change its attitude to life, to reality, humanity, society, family, to everything. Everyone understands that this is necessary, but no one knows how to do it. Statements by politicians and lawmakers show their complete helplessness. Humanity has exhausted all options and there is no place left to go: people have no attraction to views of the extreme left, right, or middle. The new generation is totally indifferent to it all.

This is a sign that the time has come for the last generation when we are obliged to discover the essence of life for everyone. The Creator has chosen our Bnei Baruch group to realize this goal, giving us such a desire. The desire comes from the light. If a person has become illuminated a little bit by the spiritual world, the desire for spirituality awakens in him or her. And if the light suddenly begins to attract us to corporeal life, then we will drown in corporeality. We all awaken only thanks to the light.

Therefore, if we received such an awakening, we are responsible for the whole world and we are called Isra-El (straight to the Creator). The Creator will not take care of us if we fail to realize this task for humanity. We gather in the convention not only for internal connection but to generate a force with our unity that can attract the whole of humanity. It is necessary to unite very strongly at the convention and attract the light that reforms, which will advance us so that the world will feel that it has someone to follow, that there is a group in which the upper force dwells, Israel, “straight to the Creator,” the group lead by Abraham.1

The world has evolved to a state where it must receive a new force, aspiration, and goal that was previously absent. Until now, the world was moving toward a goal that was material and egoistic, one achievement at a time. That kind of development has exhausted itself. This is evident in the young generation, which is drawn much less to material values. For a complete awakening, only a few more epidemics such as coronavirus are missing. And of course, they will come, because we ourselves awaken them with our attitude.2

I want to be included in Adam HaRishon, in the common system where all souls are connected. I want to feel souls, not bodies, living in a single soul. I must realize such an awakening if I have one, because it is a genuine gift from above, an awakening of a part of divinity from above.

The world needs such a change of direction because it is lost and lacks understanding of where to go next. These are not just signs of the last generation. This is our reality.

Everyone who wants to realize their soul is obliged to connect with other souls. This is how we gather the soul of Adam HaRishon, and after uniting these parts, we will feel spiritual life inside them.3

The Duty Of All Souls

laitman_222Baal HaSulam, “Introduction to From the Mouth of a Sage”: It is known from books and from authors that the study of the wisdom of Kabbalah is an absolute must for any person from Israel. If one studies the entire Torah and knows the Mishnah and the Gemara by heart, if one is also filled with virtues and good deeds more than all his contemporaries, but has not learned the wisdom of Kabbalah, he must incarnate once more into this world to study the secrets of Torah and wisdom of truth. …

This is the reason why we reincarnate, generation-by-generation through our current generation, which is the residue of the souls upon which the intention of Creation has not been completed, as they did not attain the secrets of the Torah in the past generations.

Baal HaSulam writes that we have to reveal the wisdom of Kabbalah so that all souls (and each of us is the carrier of a piece of the common soul) could connect together into one common soul called “Adam” and achieve the state of complete similarity to the Creator, that is, to rise to the level of absolute knowledge, immortality, and perfection.

Question: Can we imagine from the Kabbalistic point of view that creation is a huge will to receive, which, as it is constantly developing, undergoes all kinds of metamorphoses along the historical axis, and each person is an individual will to receive?

Answer: Yes. These desires, interacting with each other as in a kaleidoscope, constantly clarify various sides of the Creator and gradually connect with each other.

Question: Does it mean that these are the same souls?

Answer: Yes. The same souls descend to the world, only on different levels and in different combinations with each other.

The Future Of The World, 15 Years Ahead

laitman_941Question: How do you see the future development of the world 15 years from now? What will come to the forefront? What is Israel’s role in it?

Answer: The desirable path of development is the awareness of the Israeli people, together with our groups in the world, and the so-called progressive humanity that the most important thing is to unite and to show the world an example of unity.

When we manage to unite with each other at least a little bit, then the upper light will pass through us and it will be felt at all levels of humanity. People will feel that real life and the possibility of progressing to the next stage of development, exiting to a new level of existence, is in unity.

Being in this corporeal world, we will at the same time begin to penetrate into higher matter, into higher existence, into those areas where not our brain operates, but the commands that control it.

I hope very much that we will begin to feel this in the coming years. It is at our doorstep, but it depends on us how much we will be ready to adapt this knowledge and sensations.

From A Small Room To A Huge World

laitman_944Question: Why did Kabbalists hide Kabbalah for many years?

Answer: Look at yourself. You have already been studying Kabbalah for years. How would it be possible to reveal everything that it studies to you all at once? Even when you begin studying any science, it is revealed to you gradually because you need to gather data, store it, adapt yourself to it, and chew on it within yourself.

And Kabbalah is a science that simultaneously includes feelings within you. That is, you yourself must change and adapt yourself sensually to the material you work with. Gradually you get used to it and change according to it; you will feel and absorb it differently. These are very serious, long stages of incorporating a person into Kabbalah and Kabbalah into a person.

This is not a usual science that people deduced from their conclusions. Under the guidance of Kabbalists you discover a world, yourself, and your feelings, and begin to apply your knowledge to the world that exists around you. You bring it closer and closer to yourself and feel it.

So, it turns out that this takes time, it is not possible to get past this instantly. For example, you cannot take a little child to a classic ballet, to the theater, or to a scientific experiment, he will not understand it. You can take him with you, but he will receive nothing from it. On the contrary, he will be scared or understand all of it incorrectly.

Therefore, the problem is not that Kabbalists do not want to reveal everything immediately. They, as true methodologists, understand that it requires a very long path of a person’s inner growth. That is the problem.

Such maturation might take 20 or 30 years. After all, you adapt yourself to the system that works according to different laws than your animalistic body, our primitive lower world, does.

You are like a little child who comes out of his nursery, in which his whole world was encapsulated, into the big world. There are completely different interactions in it, there are strangers and other laws.

Therefore, you need to adapt. Just like in our world we have parents and teachers who guide us and create special systems of maturation and incorporation into this world, it is the same in Kabbalah.

However, everything is much more difficult in spirituality because in the corporeal world we have natural desires and sense organs, but in Kabbalah we must develop them. This means that we must be united into tens through which we will be able to begin feeling the upper world and adapt to it.

Only now are we beginning this process, gradually exiting our little “nursery,” not even into the big world, but into the “yard.” This is precisely what we are beginning to do now.

On The Verge Of Breaking Into The Spiritual World

laitman_214Question: Was the desire for knowledge once an obstacle for the development of Kabbalah?

Answer: Thirst for knowledge pushed aside striving to attain the upper world and people began to engage in comprehending the material world. Since the middle of the 17th century there was interest in science and art and then the technological revolution occurred. This eclipsed humanity’s striving for spiritual knowledge.

If a person has interesting possibilities of revealing the secrets of nature of this world and attaining them, then why engage in something intangible, incomprehensible? This is how the first layer of the desire for knowledge appeared.

But at the beginning of the 20th century it became clear that science had exhausted itself and by the end of the century many scientists already said that the age of science was coming to an end and there was nowhere else to develop it. And today everyone agrees with this.

That is, there is nothing in the world we could discover that would really be a special breakthrough. There are even theorems about the finiteness of knowledge.

The science of Kabbalah explains that gaining knowledge is a human method and proceeds from our capabilities. We do not explore what the world is. We explore the world as it appears in our senses.

The world is matter given to us in our sensations. So we need to introduce a clear framework: where is the boundary of our attainment? And it turns out that it is very clear, simple, and close. In principle, we already feel it.

In this way, science, which blazed for 150 years, has practically burned out. And therefore, we are now on the threshold of breaking into the spiritual world.

Kabbalah predicted this many thousands of years ago. It clearly saw that at the end of the year 2000, when the realization of all of the ten Sefirot of the third world was completed, a feeling of their end would begin to appear as well as understanding that there should be a breakthrough to the upper area.
