When Will All People Feel A Spiritual Awakening?

laitman_963.8Question: We know that it takes many years before a person engaged in spiritual work begins to feel an internal response to the rule “love your neighbor as yourself.” Will those people outside the group also require the same amount of time to come to this feeling?

Answer: If these people do not have an inner urge and the upper providence does not bring them to the group in order to realize it, they will not be able to do anything.

There are two necessary conditions: the point in the heart, and the condition of the Creator placing a person’s hand on the good fortune and beginning to help him in this. Otherwise, nothing will work out.

Many people in the world have a point in the heart, but for some reason they are not brought into our ranks. Perhaps it is still early or there are some other circumstances we do not know about.

Spread The Knowledge About The Creator In The World

laitman_214Question: If I tell somebody about the Creator and about the upper worlds, does it mean that I love him? The purpose for telling this person about it is unknown. It is not that simple.

Answer: First, you have to prepare—understand what he would like to hear. You teach students in the same way: you feel what they would like to hear from you and what they would not like. You already understand them. This is how the love for the created beings and the love for the Creator are expressed.

You are between the Creator and the created beings, transmitting the knowledge about the Creator to them: how to get close to the upper force, how to start being filled with it, become similar to it, and attain the state of eternity and perfection.

You try to tell everyone about it. What can be better for a person than to understand that he can reach the level of the Creator and that he is given opportunities, tools, and the method? This is the most you can do for people.

To Pull Everyone Along

laitman_750.03Question: Why do you, a Kabbalist, do so many actions in the imaginary reality when you could transfer the scope of actions into the true spiritual reality?

Answer: It is in order to pull you along with me as part of my essence.

Question: Does it mean that you are responsible for people?

Answer: They all are my parts! Therefore, I am tied to them. And so is each of us. There is mutual inclusion of everybody into everything. Therefore, each of us pulls others and together we draw near to the world of eternity, of infinity.

By helping others, you eventually help yourself because all others are your spiritual part. All this is one Adam.

Question: Do I bestow to myself and not to another person?

Answer: Yes, but it seems to you that you bestow to others. The fact is that the state called Adam was broken into many parts, so that each part relative to others could move from its egoism to altruism and thus acquire the quality of the Creator, the quality of bestowal and love.

If this system did not break, how could it acquire the quality of the Creator? How would it act? Yet since we are broken and there is egoism between us, mutual rejection, we can overcome it and connect with others. Then the force of overcoming will become the force of our connection and similarity with the Creator. We need to reach this state.

This is the idea of the Creator: as a result of the shattering, the created being would become egoistic and all the force of light, the force of the Creator, the force of His love, would enter between us and turn into egoism, into hatred. We now need to revert it back into connection and love, and then we will become similar to the Creator.

All People Are Parts Of One Common System

laitman_423.03Question: If other people are like animals according to their needs and interests, why should I try to come closer to them? And how could it be that something excites me yet doesn’t interest them at all?

Answer: All other people are the same as you. They are all necessary elements of one common system. Each has his or her own part. By working on yourself, you must come closer to everyone, try and pass on the higher information to them, and give them the opportunity to connect to it.

To the extent that we connect together in the system of “love your neighbor as yourself,” we elevate our world to the next level.

I don’t think there are people, organizations, religions, or methods in the world that would object to the call to love your neighbor. After all, day by day, we increasingly understand that the world is integral, interconnected, and that we need to do something with ourselves.

If we continue to be so fragmented and torn apart, we will lead the world to disaster. Also, if we try to connect with each other in one living organism, its cells will start functioning correctly as in a single system, then in this healthy organism, we will feel the higher life and ourselves existing in the spiritual field.

What Is The Difference Between The Revealed And The Concealed Torah?

laitman_527.07Question: What is the difference between the revealed and the concealed parts of the Torah?

Answer: The concealed part of the Torah is the part that is revealed to a person when he works on his spiritual development. The Torah is completely opposite from what people think.

Question: So, is it always revealed and it only depends on us if it is concealed or revealed to us?

Answer: The Torah is the control system of the entire system of creation. It is concealed with respect to a person individually. However, to the extent in which we are able to participate in this system intelligently and productively, it is gradually revealed to us.

Question: But how is the Torah, as a system of the world’s control, connected to the book that was written 3,000 years ago? Is it the written Torah and the oral Torah?

Answer: They both describe the system we need to enter, learn about, and engage with.

Question: What is the oral Torah? It seems that there are some laws that were possible to describe on a piece of paper and there are laws that could only be passed down by word of mouth?

Answer: The oral Torah is a system of laws that was passed down from teacher to student: from Adam through 20 generations to Abraham and then through all the rest of the generations to Rabbi Shimon, the author of The Book of Zohar. Then it all became hidden. The knowledge about the world, about the individual’s work in drawing closer to the Creator is called “the Torah,” from the word “Ohr” (Light). This knowledge was gradually passed down through a small group of people in each generation. Only now, beginning with the Ari (17th century) and onward, everything began to be reborn.

The Attitude Of The Masses To Kabbalah

laitman_254.03Question: Why does merely mentioning terms of the science of Kabbalah arouse a negative reaction among people who do not study it?

Answer: The fact is that throughout the years of the existence of Kabbalah there have been so many fabrications around it that it is natural that no one is indifferent to it.

Only specific people understand Kabbalah and they are its followers. Everyone else is very cautiously and warily interested in it. They consider it something dark, bad, and dangerous.

Most importantly, religion, being based on blind faith, is also against Kabbalah. They tell me how to behave, and like a wind-up-toy, I mechanically perform the prescribed actions.

Kabbalists say: “No, you must explore this world, explore the Creator, and wish to understand and attain Him with your mind.” Attain the Creator in order to be like Him, to serve Him exactly by becoming equal to Him. This is the state we must reach.

Who Will Show Humanity The Way?

laitman_750.03Baal HaSulam, “The Writings of the Last Generation”: From the perspective of Lishma [for her name], it is an emotional need. Admittedly, they are few, as it is written, “saw that the righteous are few… and planted them in every generation,” that they may have demand from birth. However, some abhor material life. If they do not accomplish the goal of adhesion, they will commit suicide.

A meaningless life is the most terrifying prison: you were placed into it against your will and you are obliged to exist in it. Today, humanity subconsciously feels global depression, sensing the uselessness of existence.

There are two forces acting here. One of them shows you that you are nothing, living without a purpose, and the second force should show you the correct path. For the majority of humanity this path does not exist. It is written that they do not have a head, only a suffering body. We, the Kabbalists, must be the head who will show humanity that there is such a way and will become a guide—Moses, leading humanity forward.

With ever-increasing suffering, the masses will realize that they need such a guide, and Moses appears only when such a need appears in humanity. And prior to that, the Kabbalistic group, which represents the head part of humanity, is being prepared.

Question: In this preparation, an individual must constantly feel the pressure of the group, resistance to this pressure, and on the other hand, agree with it, move forward together and work with the group. Is this how it constantly needs to be?

Answer: Yes. If this does not happen, then it must be created so that it happens. The individual must close his eyes and throw himself into the group, dissolve in it, until there is nothing left.

Question: During the period of the last generation, when the majority of people begins to act to bestow to others, will this help the small group that is the head part of humanity?

Answer: Of course. The masses will push them forward. Baal HaSulam wrote that there is great collective desire in the masses, and in the few righteous, there is only the connection with the Creator.

The first group is in great in quantity; the second, in quality. Therefore, the masses represent that great egoistic part that needs to be dragged forward. And that job is given to the righteous.

What Is The Secret Of Kabbalah?

laitman_216.03Question: If today Kabbalah is open for everyone, then what is its secret?

Answer: There are no secrets in Kabbalah and never have been. The entire problem is only in society’s  possibility of correctly accepting it, adapting to it, tasting it, and using it correctly for its development. There is nothing else.

For example, it is written in The Book of Zohar that of the great Kabbalist Rabbi Shimon’s ten disciples, only Rabbi Aba could correctly expound upon it so that it would be accessible, smooth, correct, and at the same time hidden.

And the measure of concealment must be so special that when you read the Kabbalistic text, it reveals itself to you, and maybe not to your neighbor.

Susceptibility To Spirituality

laitman_214Question: Since 1995, Kabbalah has begun its disclosure to the masses. Does this mean that children born after 1995 are at a higher spiritual level than we are, and that they are more susceptible to spirituality? Or are they more egoistic, which makes it more difficult for them to correct themselves?

Answer: It does not matter what egoism they bear, whether it is bigger, smaller, or whatever kind it is. However, each forthcoming generation is more susceptible to abstract concepts than its previous one.

Lower and lower souls constantly descend into our world. But on the other hand, by working on themselves, they reach even greater peaks.

The Period Of Concealment In The History Of Kabbalah

Laitman_138Question: If Kabbalah is the method to discover the Creator, why was it concealed for two thousand years, preventing people from using it?

Answer: It was a latent period in the history of Kabbalah, like the Middle Ages.

To us, it seems like nothing happened during the Middle Ages. Development in Europe appeared to freeze, but this was not so. Experts will tell you it was a period of rapid development, but it was internal, hidden. It prepared Europe for all the subsequent progress. Without this preparation, there would have been no cultural or industrial revolution. no Renaissance, nothing.

Question: If our development were not technological, what would it be?

Answer: Our development had to be technological because it was the result of our egoistic development.

Today, this period is coming to an end. The next stage will be spiritual development. We are gradually entering it now. Our recognition of the evil of our current development will lead us to it.
