If There Is No Goal, There Is No Joy In Life

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: It is now absolutely clear to doctors that a human being is not only comprised of physiological systems of the body and mind, but also of the desire for a purpose. But we know that this is a person’s spiritual level. So he is compelled to build relationships between himself and the goal, his environment, and also to his body.

Recently, we are faced with the fact that people have been relating to their bodies negligently or even contemptuously, and consequently they are subject to disease. So how should one relate to the body?

Answer: As a result of thousands of years of development, a person has reached a state where he is not happy to be alive. Subconsciously we don’t want to live. Everything is in vain: the anguish, the suffering; life, what is it all? Do I need to feel that I am joyful, happy? But I don’t.

If I get some kind of satisfaction, it is attained through unjustified effort, and then it either passes very rapidly or at any moment it transforms into the opposite. So people truly don’t want to live. Therefore contempt for the body is only a small consequence of the current condition. A person secretly feels that he would be happier if he didn’t exist at all.

In the past there was nothing like this because we still had not evolved to this awareness. Today we have a conscious approach to life, the futility of our existence, the lack of fruitfulness, the degradation. We understand our nature, our nothingness. Nobody asked us if we wanted to be born, to be educated in this society, or in another society. We don’t understand what, where, or how.

There was a time when we had defined goals. We were still not that developed and so we went after whatever seemed permanent, building something, yearning for something. One yearned for capitalism, some for communism, and others yearned to explore space. We wanted to prove something, to struggle, and to attain some kind of self-affirmation. Today none of this exists; everything has simply disappeared and an “empty sink” remains where all the water has drained from. We no longer have anything to fulfill us.

Therefore we even look at our bodies with contempt. This explains the attraction to drugs, antidepressants, and suicide. Moreover, this is not only seen in developed countries, but everywhere, in Latin America, and even in Africa, in those places where people were sufficiently happy in the past despite their wretched existence. Today this no longer exists. There must be some kind of purpose for a person for one to engage in himself, his appearance, sports, etc.

“Eight New Mental Illnesses Brought To You By The Internet”

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from TechHive): “As the Internet evolved into a ubiquitous part of #ModernLife, we’ve witnessed a rise in the number of distinct mental disorders directly tied to our use of digital technology. These afflictions, which range from benign to destructive, weren’t recognized by the medical community until very recently, and didn’t even exist before the Clinton administration.

“Phantom Ringing Syndrome: When your brain punks you into thinking your phone is buzzing in your pocket.

“Have you ever reached for the vibrating phone in your pocket only to realize that it was silent the whole time—or weirder still, it wasn’t even in your pocket to begin with? While you may be slightly delusional, you aren’t alone. …

“Nomophobia: The anxiety that arises from not having access to one’s mobile device. The term ‘Nomophobia’ is an abbreviation of ‘no-mobile phobia.’…

“Cybersickness: The disorientation and dizziness some people feel when interacting with certain digital environments. …

“Facebook Depression: Depression caused by social interactions, or lack thereof, on Facebook…. One possible reason is that people tend to post only good news about themselves on Facebook: Vacations, promotions, party pics, etc. So, it’s very easy to fall under the false belief that everyone else is leading far happier and successful lives than you (when this may not be the case at all). …

“Internet Addiction Disorder: A constant and unhealthy urge to access the Internet. … Internet Addiction Disorder (sometimes referred to as Problematic Internet Use) is excessive Internet use that interferes with daily life.

“Online Gaming Addiction: An unhealthy need to access online multiplayer games. …

“Cyberchondria: The tendency to believe you have diseases you read about online. That’s the kind of thinking that goes on in the head of Cyberchondriacs—a downward spiral of medical factoids strung together to reach the worst possible conclusions. And it’s far from uncommon. A 2008 Microsoft study found that search-engine-aided self-diagnosis typically led the afflicted searcher to conclude the worst possible outcome. …

“The Google Effect: The tendency of the human mind to retain less information because it knows that all answers are only a few clicks away. Thanks to the Internet, a single individual can easily access nearly all the information civilization has amassed since the beginning of time. And as it turns out, this ability may be altering the very way our brains function.”

My Comment: Our egoism is constantly evolving and looking for new sources of contentment, corresponding to its development. Therefore, all these temporary Internet attractions will pass; they will be replaced by new aspirations: to reveal the secret of our existence.

The Physical Body Is A Mechanism For Inner Fulfillment

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: In the framework of integral education is it possible to create a course that teaches us to behave correctly in our bodies, with ourselves, so that on a basis of correct behavior the person can advance onward?

Answer: Only if he will begin to feel happiness through a mutual connection with others. But in the meantime, in a natural way, we can only be connected physically because we have not yet found another virtual level of communication outside of ourselves, even though science already talks about a possibility like this, especially physics and psychology.

Since we exist in a real manner within the body, we are connected with one another through its sensations and comprehend one another in this manner. If we feel that our body becomes a tool through which we reach inner fulfillment, then this will be comprehended by us as a positive tool for this will become a source of happiness, will give us fulfillment.

So then being alive is necessary, to  vitalize, to be healthy and fit. We reach this only through involvement with integral unification through changing a person’s view of himself.

Everything Is Built On Balance

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: If we tell people that egoism is our nature, we are confronted with strong opposition.

Answer: True. That is why the disclosure of the disease always should be preceded by its remedy. Let’s say that you are going to hit someone; hit, if it is necessary but first, explain why, what for, and what positive result will come out of it.

It’s the same thing as with spanking a child; he should know that you do this with love, for his benefit, clearly pursuing the definite objective of fighting his egoism and not because you are upset.

Question: So, do I tell the patient that he will have a difficult operation but it undoubtedly will lead him to a better state?

Answer: No, first, you need to describe the best state, show it, and make it felt. Then, the person will see his next state in front of him. His diagnosis will be revealed to him much more clearly and correctly. He will understand everything correctly. Otherwise, he will not want to accept it. It really will be awful for him. He will want to forget it, to get rid of it, to erase it from his memory as quickly as possible.

Question: We conducted a workshop with a group, half of which were physicians interested in making society healthy. When it comes to balance in terms of medicine, blood pressure is 120/80, a specific white blood cell count, pH factor, and another sixteen indicators.

Answer: These are the physical manifestations of balance. When physiological parameters of the balance of the internal systems are disturbed, a disease appears, and any disease is a lack of balance.

Applying the integral methodology, we come to balance at the next, higher level—at the psychological, physical, spiritual, and emotional levels—no matter what. Therefore, physicians should understand that the same principle applies to all the levels.

The same goes for psychologists and psychiatrists. We all desire to achieve balance in our lives, anywhere, in any state. Indeed, there is no positive without negative. It is possible to give a person such positive stress that his heart will not sustain immense joy. Therefore, everything is built on balance.

Greece, Bulgaria, Spain, And Later – Everywhere!

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Michael Khazin, economist): “The problems of Greece, Bulgaria, and Spain have already become habitual. Unemployment of close to 60% of the youth is a social disaster. If a person has never worked until the age of 30, he will never work.

“This means that there is no normal family (basically, liberal Western society is actively fighting this in every circumstance); there is no normal social adjustment; there is no social recovery. There are not many possibilities. There is theft, terror, revolution or becoming a wild animal through drug addiction.

“All this doesn’t give any chance of recovery for modern Western society of more than one generation. The number of the wealthy will be reduced 10-fold and these will rob the last of the middle-class earnings during a tense social and political conflagration. Reduction of the middle class will arouse the phenomenon of the ‘new poor’ and their anger about the entire system.

“Economic theory says that one should not expect any improvement in the world and Western economy in the next decade.”

My Comment: It is true; the plan of the elites is the rapid, painless, peaceful, and quiet reduction of the human population, up to1-2 billion. And the primary concern in this period is the peace of mind of the masses. Therefore, drugs are administered, and in order to clear themselves, they maintain propaganda against smoking because it is damaging to health.

However the result of all this “change” will be an understanding of the need for an absolute structural change in the whole of society, humanity, its relationship to itself and to the world, through war or peace, depending on the dissemination of the method of integral education.

UK Lifts Ban On Cocaine

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from The Independent): “An independent report commissioned by the influential All-Party Parliamentary Group for Drug Policy Reform has urged that coca’s illegal status be reviewed and research conducted into the possible legal uses of the leaf which, it is claimed, could benefit the lives of millions of the world’s poorest people.

“Evidence from the International Centre for Science in Drug Policy last week found cocaine was 51 per cent cheaper than in 1990 while its potency had increased. Group chair Baroness Meacher said that the war on drugs had ‘disastrous consequences’ in the developing world. ‘The employment of poor farmers and their families by the drug barons in Colombia continues to be irresistible while few, if any, alternatives exist,’ she said. ‘But these farmers could earn a legitimate income growing a crop to generate products with positive therapeutic… functions.’

“Rather than waging war on producers, governments should consider using aid budgets to create regulated markets in which the alkaloid that makes cocaine was safely removed from the leaf and alternative products found, the report says.

“As well as being a rich source of protein and calcium, coca can also be used to make wine and treat muscular pain. It also offers a potential treatment for cocaine dependency. The report said companies such as Coca-Cola already have special permission from the US Drug Enforcement Administration to import dried coca leaf, while it is also legally imported into Europe to make energy drinks such as Red Bull.”

My Comment: This blog pointed out this not once. Not once the “comments” drew attention to the smoking ban, as a prelude to the legalization of drugs. The main thing is to lull concerns by caring about people’s health – “may he die healthy,” it would be spent less on medical care.

This issue has been addressed repeatedly in the blog. It has been pointed out in several comments that banning smoking is a prelude to legalizing drugs. The key is to sedate public awareness under the pretense of caring about people’s health: “Let them die healthy,” which would reduce spending on healthcare.

Legal Drugs Are Gaining Popularity

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime): “The 2013 World Drug Report released in Vienna shows that, while the use of traditional drugs such as heroin and cocaine seems to be declining in some parts of the world, prescription drug abuse and new psychoactive substance abuse is growing. …

“Marketed as ‘legal highs’ and ‘designer drugs’, NPS are proliferating at an unprecedented rate and posing unforeseen public health challenges. The report shows that the number of NPS reported to UNODC rose from 166 at the end of 2009 to 251 by mid-2012, an increase of more than 50 per cent. For the first time, the number of NPS exceeded the total number of substances under international control (234). Since new harmful substances have been emerging with unfailing regularity on the drug scene, the international drug control system is now challenged by the speed and creativity of the NPS phenomenon.”

My Comment: I already wrote that the campaign against smoking is actually a prelude to the permission to use drugs: Drugs are cheap and calm the population.

The Universal Formula Of Happiness

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from DailyMail): “Research into what makes people feel happy has led renowned professor, Dr Todd Kashdan, to produce an equation called the Feel Good Formula.

“In it, he identifies six factors which, when put together in the right combination, make a happy soul.

“The factors are: Live in the moment (M), be curious (C), do something you love (L), think of others (T), nurture relationships (N), and take care of your body (B).

“The winning formula is Feeling Good = (Mx16 + Cx1 + Lx2) + (Tx5 + Nx2 + Bx33). …

“Whilst it may not appear obvious how a combination of letters and numbers will make you feel good, Dr Kashdan believes this formula is the perfect prescription for a happy soul.

“He said: ‘There is no single secret to feeling good, but when these six ingredients are carefully attended to, in the right doses, you will be on target for a happy life.’”

My Comment: Artificially, it is impossible to reach such a state on one’s own. For this, a person has to re-educate himself, to correct. Psychologists themselves say it is impossible. But the method of integral education makes this possible for everyone because this method uses the force that created us as a means of our correction.

How Should We Arrange The Planet?

“What would it take to accelerate fertility decline in the least developed countries?”

“The world today has 6.8 billion people. That’s heading up to about nine billion. Now if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services, we could lower that by perhaps 10 or 15 percent.”

Opinion (John P. Holdren, Barack Obama’s top science advisor): “‘A program of sterilizing women after their second or third child, despite the relatively greater difficulty of the operation than vasectomy, might be easier to implement than trying to sterilize men.’

“‘The development of a long-term sterilizing capsule that could be implanted under the skin and removed when pregnancy is desired opens additional possibilities for coercive fertility control. The capsule could be implanted at puberty and might be removable, with official permission, for a limited number of births.’”

My Comment: Our planet can feed many times more than its current population. If people feel like relatives, they will not feel that there so many of them, if they are loved, there aren’t unnecessary members in the family, and nature, the Creator, will provide us with everything we need subject to the law of equivalence of form.

The problem is not in reducing the population by force, but in educating and upbringing the population. By becoming similar to the system of higher management, we will consume and reproduce correctly naturally, due to our adhesion to nature, the Creator.

“Cocaine ‘Rapidly Changes The Brain’”

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from BBC News): “Taking cocaine can change the structure of the brain within hours in what could be the first steps of drug addiction, according to US researchers.

“Animal tests, reported in the journal Nature Neuroscience, showed new structures linked to learning and memory began to grow soon after the drug was taken. …

“The place or environment that drugs are taken plays an important role in addiction.

In the experiments, the mice were allowed to explore freely two very different chambers – each with a different smell and surface texture.

“Once they had picked a favourite they were injected with cocaine in the other chamber. A type of laser microscopy was used to look inside the brains of living mice to hunt for the dendritic spines. More new spines were produced when the mice were injected with cocaine than with water, suggesting new memories being formed around drug use. The difference could be detected two hours after the first dose. …

“’This gives us a possible mechanism for how drug use fuels further drug-seeking behaviour.

“‘These drug-induced changes in the brain may explain how drug-related cues come to dominate decision making in a human drug user.’”

“Commenting on the research, Dr Gerome Breen, from the Institute of Psychiatry at King’s College London, told the BBC: ‘Dendritic spine development is particularly important in learning and memory. This study gives us a solid understanding of how addiction occurs – it shows us how addiction is learned by the brain.’”

My Comment: Changes in the structure of the brain lead to a complete change of personality; dependence on fulfillment from narcotics makes a person weak-willed and utterly unfit to work on himself, on spiritual evolution, and removes him from society. He is useful for the old, capitalist system as a vegetable who needs only a new dose, but for a new, altruistic social structure, he is completely unsuitable.
