The commandment, “Thou shalt not kill” (Exodus 20:13), means that we can cut off the Light that comes to us from Above, the Light of life, or the Light of correction that guides us toward equivalence of form with the Creator. I can stop receiving it and extinguish it, and ignite the egoistic desire inside me.

The moment the egoistic desire appears inside us, the Light immediately disappears. It feels this desire in advance since there are Keter, Hochma, Bina, Zeir Anpin, and Malchut between it and the egoistic desire. Malchut is the last desire, and Keter is the first desire. The Light that is still in Keter feels that it mustn’t come to Malchut. It is a paradox: The moment that I do something corrupted the Light immediately knows that and doesn’t arrive.

My wrong movement is immediately felt in Keter since there is an opposite mutual connection between Keter and Malchut. The moment I do something in Malchut, Keter immediately feels my intention and the Light leaves it.

Question: I am a desire and one way or another, I follow pleasure. So, what happens to me?

Answer: You are killing your soul since you want to receive the pleasure for yourself! The Light enters only according to the equivalence of form while you perform an action that is opposite to it, so it immediately disappears.

Question: I would like to comment that all revolutions start from the romantic level. Now, we shall establish a just society and later it leads to bloodshed, killing, imprisonment, and so on.

Answer: Yes, we see the same thing in technological advancement and in changing different formations. Every system—capitalist, egoist, Nazi—begins from romantic elements since people are driven by an idea of proving, showing, fulfilling, and enjoying what they create. During the first phase, this idea receives the support of the Light since otherwise it cannot be fulfilled. However, the moment the ego and commercialism join the game, the Light disappears, and everything moves toward collapse! It may take two centuries but the collapse inevitably will come.

Question: What should we do so that there would be no collapse? Can we make a preliminary covenant so that the romantic levels will develop into upper phases?

Answer: In order to do that, you should know how to sustain yourself in this romantic mode, which means that the upper spiritual level should constantly draw you above the corporeal level.

However, the corporeal pleasures will draw you more strongly as you advance. You will begin to feel such pleasures that it is impossible to imagine. You will have to constantly prefer your spiritual growth on top of what is revealed to you here.

Question: Can I be aware of it in advance? Can I sign some kind of an agreement that I will not be left alone, that I will be warned and reminded of it?

Answer: Only if you tie yourself to the right environment and invest all your powers in it, which is what people who started revolutions did. They were ready to give everything for their friends so they succeeded.

However, the moment the connection between them was broken and they began to split things up—you will be this minister and I will be that minister—everything came to an end. The ego came in and the “circle” disappeared and so did the equality.

In order to avoid that, we must establish the right environment together with the Creator so that it will be sustainable, from it, through the general society, until the very center.

This invisible force, the Creator, must constantly sustain us. Then, you also become invisible and disappear into this system. Otherwise, nothing will happen! You must disappear inside it by yourself, without any self-profit, and then you will acquire a different world.

Question: How can I feel the others if the heart doesn’t feel that they are close yet?

Answer: You have to think that the others are part of your soul and that only by the connection with others can you build the vessel for receiving the Light, the revelation of the Creator, the revelation of the true state, which means bestowal. The world of truth is the world of bestowal. We, however, are under the domination of a lie, in some fantasy that this world seemingly exists by the force of receiving. We have to think about this as much as we can, until it’s clear that everything exists according to the force of bestowal.

Our fictitious and distorted perception that forces us to think and feel differently is only in us. So because of it we don’t see the real world, and we are like blind people walking in the dark, feeling our way by holding on to a wall. We don’t understand where we are!

Thus, all of humanity is wandering blindfolded in the dark. We have to make our greatest efforts in order to remove this concealment, and then we will see that all of reality exists only by the force of bestowal and love. We will see reality as some kind of an enchanted fantasy world in which everything operates by the laws of total bestowal. We wander around this enchanted city and we have the chance to constantly correct and improve ourselves, by acquiring additional power of bestowal each time.

Thus we increasingly assimilate in this city and can use everything and understand and feel more. This is called ascending the spiritual ladder.

But the moment the spiritual ladder is revealed to us, it becomes clear that all of reality is bestowal and love alone. Besides, there is a small bubble in this reality in which we sleep, like in a coma, not regaining consciousness. This sick fantasy is only in our heads like in a mind of a person who has lost consciousness and different fluid, chaotic thoughts, flow in his mind. This is what is happening to us now…

The reality of our world does not exist! It’s only a kind of fantasy, but it’s very important since only from it can we ascend to the truth.

Baal HaSulam, “The Love for the Creator and Love for the Created Beings”: Thus, because of their ancestral merit Israel succeeded, and over 400 years they developed and became qualified and sentenced themselves to a scale of merit.

In the course of exile, we face external resistance and reveal the force that does not let us unite, although we want to become one. This force is divided into four layers of Aviut (the “thickness” of desire), and this is what the concept of “four hundred years” indicates. In general, similar breakdowns and measurements stem from the initial structure of HaVaYaH.

If evil, preventing complete integration, is manifested, this means that the sons of Israel had completed the Egyptian exile. This applies to us: If we want to rise to the level of receiving the Torah, meaning the method of correction, then first we must feel ourselves in exile. This growing feeling brings hatred, rejection, alienation, and inability to unite to the three levels of egoistic desire that are called “Egypt” and to the last, the fourth level of burdening of the heart that is called “Pharaoh.” His manifestation is accompanied by the “ten plagues,” and as a result we exit Egypt, meaning feel the necessity to unite in spite of the evil that is being revealed, and flee Pharaoh, ready to receive the Torah.

We are crying, calling, and then the force comes that leads and raises us above the receiving desire. Now we are not in Egypt, we are above the ego, and from this moment on we are ready to become like one. The Light that Reforms affects us, and at Mount Sinai, the mountain of hatred (Sinah), we become a people.

Then, we proceed to the correction of Egypt, begin to “scrape off” this desire, layer by layer, and raise them to bestowal in the property of “AHP on the rise.” At the end, only the “inaccessible” parts of desire (the “stony heart”) will be left in Egypt, which will be corrected last.

So, when the fragments of the general soul of Adam HaRishon begin to connect again, the first who join this process are “lighter,” more sensitive parts. You and I do not understand what type of soul those were who left Babylon together with Abraham and to what source exactly, to what point of the general soul, he belongs. This is the point in the heart Adam HaRishon. In any case, this is the process of correction based on the method of Kabbalah.

Of course, the wisdom of Kabbalah is the science of the highest order belonging to all of humanity, encompassing the entire general vessel and not limited to its individual fragments. It contains the whole reality beginning from the world of Infinity. However, it is used only by those people who can add efforts themselves and accelerate instead of developing “according to schedule.” Without waiting for the correction in their term, they raise MAN, meaning the request, in advance, and help others to do the same. Thus, the wisdom of Kabbalah is the property of the whole world.

We have talked and read a lot about our needing to unite. However, until recently it was a relatively quiet period and we still were not prepared to realize that the need to unite is the decisive fundamental factor and everything depends on it.

We have heard about this for years, but did not feel that everything that we expect takes place precisely in unity. The “trigger” did not function in us, there was no internal “click,” the realization that the result of everything that we study and do is only in this. But lately, it’s beginning to sink in, basically, with the introduction of integral education, which we first need to apply to ourselves.

As a result of the sequence of our congresses that will continue until the fall, we will come to the quality of “automatism,” meaning we will convince ourselves that the correction of our estrangement is in the unification of everyone together; this is our task. As for the desire for something incomprehensible, higher, for the Light, it will be manifested automatically if we achieve the correct unity. So, we have to reconcile ourselves to the fact that the upper reality, in terms of desires (Kelim), is hidden in unity. The more we automatically apply this, even if it is increasingly more difficult to master this approach, the more we will be able to enter the upper world.

We see this in the example of the Egyptian exile, with the group which Abraham created. Pharaoh (egoism) was asked, “Let us go!” In other words, “tear us from yourself, let us break away!” And when it was stated strongly, there came the last ten blows, the “ten plagues of Egypt.”

Actually, this is the last ten manifestations of egoism, when the egoistic thickness (Aviut) expresses itself in its last ten layers when a person has finally “matured.” Although these ten stages of egoism affect us, they also already raise us and in the end push us into the upper world.

Thus, egoism itself as it grows (and it grows only to the extent that we are ready to connect above it), it immediately helps us. It burns hotter and hotter and then we reach a new degree. I am sure that we have to start feeling these ten stages of the increasing ego to the extent of our unity. And then, we will feel that our egoistic attempts, on the one hand, give us nothing, but on the other hand, add a new level of connection.

In other words, in our unity we need to begin to feel ourselves more complex, more “intricate,” and at the same time see that this system, similar to an electronic circuit, consisting of various radio components, still does not work. It seems that everything is in place and we try to unite; but still there is nothing. However, as we go through egoistic blows, we constantly find more and more new places where there is no contact between us at a more serious level.

That is why we should see our egoism as “help against oneself.” Appearing between us every time, it adds an opportunity for us to reach the common ego that is necessary for the first degree. This means that there is nothing “against,” it works together with the Light, and we should see in it just one single action from the part of the Creator: on one side, the Light, the right line, and on the other side, egoism, the left line.

Thus, they work constantly, alternately, like two legs, and a person moves forward in the middle line. The Creator, the general Force from Above, manages these two properties, and we need to realize them correctly from the bottom-up to become equal to the Creator. The Light and the desire have to be equal by level, and the greater they are, the closer we rise to the Creator.

Our group Bnei Baruch was created in the mid-nineties, although I have students who came from 1991. Imagine that since then and until recently we hardly spoke about unity seriously. We studied the sources, read the articles, but could not yet start doing it seriously, practically. Only now we have started to organize workshops and develop the method of integral education, but we were not engaged in this until now because it was too early.

I feel that the group and the world are currently united and depend on each other. Until now, there was no such tension, there were no such conditions such that we could seriously, actively, and practically begin to realize our unity. So, I see the results of the last few months by the desire (Kli) that we create. The result of our previous conventions is a greater and greater feeling of the need and our unity.

I should understand that spirituality is between us, only inside, only at the intersection of our desires. I need to imagine it like this automatically. Even if egoism rises to the next level, I nonetheless must find this state quickly, feel distancing, experience hatred of what separates us, and aspire to greater unity again.

Moreover, this unity will be more and more qualitative. It’s not about connection on the material level, in songs, various activities; on the contrary, it will be felt deeper and deeper, more internal. It will not be related to the parameters of our world, with distances, with characters, etc.

Unity will be increasingly discovered as a kind of spiritual substance, a gradually revealed network of forces, connection between us that exists in reality. We find only it, and all the other external attributes that we still imagine will gradually disappear. This is how our spiritual Kli will emerge. Thinking about spiritual matters, we will imagine unity more clearly in the form of this network of connections between us, inside every Partzuf, between the Partzufim, which consists of the Sefirot and sub-Sefirot, and they will all come together in the system called the “world.”

These worlds are arranged linearly, hierarchically, depending on egoism and on the way that we work on it at every degree, how it’s graduated. All this is the 125 degrees of the spiritual ladder. And at the same time, the worlds are round.

This entire system will be presented to us as the only existing one, and we will seemingly dissolve into it gradually; we do not exist, there is no physical body, there is no entire physical world. This shadowy world just disappears.

We will desire common spirituality instead of an individual one, imagining it only in the form of unity that will be more and more clearly manifested as a network of forces between us. And in this network of forces, we will really feel ourselves, our inner “self” that exists united with each other.

Then, we will begin to feel what happens in this network instead of everything that happens in the material world. Our world is just some external manifestation of spirituality in the form that we can now notice it. And it’s through these external indicators that we have to try to discover the only real existing network between desires, the entire system of the universe. These attempts will begin to appear in everyone’s consciousness, and the general system will become more and more obvious, determining the only one existing.

I think this is what will become the outcome of our efforts and conventions. I hope it will happen. But it depends on everyone’s individual and all our collective efforts in the movement towards it.

As a result, we will begin to connect all our knowledge, the group work, work with humanity, and studies of the structures of spiritual worlds. All will be added. outlining a single picture and us within it.

This should be the result of our ongoing series of conventions. I would very much like that when it’s over we could very clearly, soberly, in reality imagine ourselves existing in this system and feeling that it determines our internal and external state, the state of the world, and in general of everything. One way or another, this picture is created based on many attempts.

Question: Are there any indicators or evaluations for determining whether there is a healthy situation at the level of the family, for instance?

Answer: I think that we are not taught properly about the behavior in a family. We study in the group that spiritual attainment requires us to move forward. It’s based on the fact that the ego is constantly growing and unity is constantly growing above it. That is, if we feel 20 kilograms of mutual egoistic repulsion between us, then we have to rise above this. This means that the uniting force needs to be at least one gram more than repulsion.

Is it not as it should be? We are brought up incorrectly. We, egoists, are constantly growing and changing. Each spouse is in his internal egoistic states: by strength, character, etc. I want romance and she wants cosmetics. I want to go fishing and she wants to dream.

We are not taught what we should constantly work on. As a result, family life is destroyed. Why do families break up? As soon as egoism starts growing and switches from the animal level to the next human degree, we no longer understand how to cope with it.

It becomes integral and people do not know at all how to work with it, “It’s easier to get a divorce!” It becomes a normal phenomenon and we do not criticize it. And it’s really true because we fundamentally do not understand how we can work with our nature. All of this is manifested in this way.

So, when we go out to the general public with a lecture or dissemination, then everything that we studied in Kabbalah earlier becomes the magical golden key to solving any problem in integral education. Just as we are trying to unite in the group, we can unite in family by exactly the same system. Otherwise, the family will cease to exist!

Even in those modern civilizations where the family still maintains the historical foundation and way of life, nothing will be left there either if we do not introduce integral education. And it’s entirely based on Kabbalah. What you do in the group, do at home and at work.

Today, we bring our methodology to various businesses and managers who also complain that people lose motivation; a person cannot force himself to work. He needs money, he needs to live, but he cannot force himself.

The world will suffer until it becomes convinced that we cannot manage without the system, which you derive only from the knowledge of the spiritual structure; you need to implement it because the world is entering it yet doesn’t know how to act within it. It turns out that it adjusts itself according to the new spiritual structures, but everyone still tries to live in it by the egoistic principles.

That is why the family crisis can be solved easily. Show examples of workshops and all kinds of integral interactions through the same television series. Start teaching people the method of bringing them together and you will see how it will begin to work. People will not know from where they get the desire for unity; they will not have a clue that they learn this from the heroes of television shows.

The dissemination of the method of integral education is not just going somewhere and telling something to someone. It should be our main weapon. In this case, we calm the world down. Moreover, this spreads as fast as anything else.

Everything, but the moments in which I begin to see the goal through the group, adhesion with the Creator, the accurate direction that gives me an accurate picture of the goal before me, is all considered idolatry. It’s a very concrete clarification: Who am I doing this for, for myself or for the benefit of the Creator, which means who is enjoying that fact that I exist now?

There is no other means of keeping myself in the right direction. A person manages to exert himself for a moment and to direct himself towards the goal through the group, and the next moment he already needs more support from the group. Thus it constantly increases. If he doesn’t receive this support, he will not hold on in the right direction. This means that he doesn’t add to his measure so it will fill up and then afterwards his first spiritual level will be revealed. It’s a very clear condition, with very simple laws and forces: The Light opposite the vessel and the Masach (screen), which now must be built between them.

In order to stay on track, I have to constantly connect “Israel, the Torah, and the Creator”—23½ hours a day. Then I can spend the half hour that is left on self-criticism of the inner factors that help me stay on track, which is the group. There is nothing but that, and my advancement totally depends on the environment.

So I dedicate 23½ hours a day in search for a stronger environment, to justify the friends and judge them to a scale of merit, looking for and collecting every grain and bud of awe. I allow myself to be critical only half an hour a day so as to find out what is wrong, why, and how to correct it.

But I work with the society during the whole 24 hours, by connecting Israel, the Torah and the Creator. It’s because the Torah is the Light that Reforms that operates only through the environment. This is the only thing in which we should engage. You can even check whether you are moving in the right direction or not by the number of hours you spend a day on it. If you don’t know how to examine the direction by yourself, then you should at least impress others, this is called serving the other!

You can, of course, offer the friend a sandwich. The main thing he needs from you, which is the reason he is in our society, is a good example that evokes him; I have to provide him with such examples.

If I only worry about that, then it will undoubtedly keep me on the right track, even if I don’t see it. Suppose a beginner who doesn’t understand anything yet is required to do only one thing: To impress the others by the fact that we are on the right track. Then he will surely advance together with everyone else on the same wagon, although the others have been studying for twenty years and he has just arrived. This is how it works.

Question: With what should I associate myself: The desire to unite everyone or to become united?

Answer: First of all, we associate ourselves with the desire to become united. Certainly! We go from the center to the periphery.

I have to tell myself that I am the center of the world, the center of the group. This is stated in the articles of Rabash. That is, the action is mine, but I do not know the actions of others. Question: We have a very friendly, close-knit virtual group. We would like them to be present at the convention. What is the best way to do this virtually?

Answer: From the point of view of the wisdom of Kabbalah, in the universe there is nothing but the desire to receive and the Light that affects this desire. The Light, acting on the desire, causes in it a fourfold development that begins to be manifested in the four stages of the worlds: Atzilut, Beria, Yetzira, and Assiya.

However, in order to be independent of this Light, it is necessary to get out from under its power. That is why the desire that was broken on the last level falls to a state where it feels no connection with the Light. This state is called “our world.” That is, our world is the desire degraded to the point where it feels only itself, out of touch with who governs it, who affects it. This is the state that we call our world, this world.

Actually, there is no difference between our world and the spiritual world. It is only if you are on any of the 125 degrees of the spiritual world that the connection between two forces is manifested there more obviously, in desire. The desire feels who affects it and why, how, and what for. It is in dialog with the Creator. In other words, the force of reception (the force of desire) and the force of bestowal (the force of the Creator/Light) are in the desire itself in the clear form.

However, on our level (the last level), it is not clear because disconnection took place. That is why our world is built of the three kinds of desire: still, vegetative, and animate. However, the human level does not exist in it because it belongs to the next spiritual levels, to the 125 degrees.

Our world is very important because in beginning to attain the upper world I must be absolutely independent, not under its power. “Independent” means cut off, detached from it, not familiar with, ignorant. If I exist in this way, I can carry out my own completely separate actions, not under the influence of the upper Light, but because “I have decided myself.”

That is why our world is the most important. After all, any Kabbalist, no matter on what degree of attainment of the upper world he is, must perform his further advancement while being in the body—that is, in sensation of the lowest egoistic degree—and ascend from it.

Suppose that I am on the 20^th spiritual degree. In order to rise to the 21^st, I need to lose the 20^th degree completely and become like everyone else in this world, feeling only it and rising to the next degree from it, and during the transition to the 22^nd degree, I have to fall again to the very end, to this world, and again begin my ascent from it.

It is impossible to attain a single spiritual degree and the transition between them if you are not in the feeling of this so-called, our world. People think, “Now, I disconnect from this world and will not care. I will fly there and advance further. Why do I need physical contact with the friends?” They are absolutely wrong in this. We will need this communication. We will not escape it!

How much attention have the Kabbalists given to the description of the order of the group: How it should interact, meet, and what to talk about. It is said that the only opportunity to rise to the upper world is if the group conveys to you the power, the importance of the goal, the importance of unity, and the importance of annulling oneself before the group.

When you are constantly in the group, you are active and can control yourself, not theoretically through the Internet behind which you can always hide, but practically when you can look your friends in the eyes or look away, or can hug or reject him. You cannot do this virtually. It is impossible without this. If you mean the method of Kabbalah, you must feel each other.

What can we do in a region where villages are 500 or 1000 kilometers apart, not to mention big cities? You need contact with each other physically at least occasionally.

I flew here because it is very important to bring this region together, so that you could meet once or twice a year even in small groups of 30 to 50 people. After all, people who have this opportunity but do not use it lose a lot.

Question: If the commandment, “Do not take G-d’s name in vain” symbolizes that it is forbidden to take advantage of the Creator for our egoistic goals, then it turns out that all the religious madness for the sake of the Creator that has taken place during our historical development only distances humanity from Him?

Answer: Yes, but that distance is necessary in order to bring humanity to a dead end and from the recognition of evil to come to the recognition of good. Otherwise, we don’t learn. The only thing we can do in advance is to cognitively see the “dead end” as if we are already stuck and understand that we need to change the direction.

I find strength within me, even without coming to a dead end, to change the movement, even though it is against my will, against my desires. Thus, the recognition of the state that is created is essential as if I am really in a dead end; otherwise, I won’t have the strength to change the direction.

For this, one needs to use the environment instead of the Creator. The Creator won’t be revealed because we are still egoistic. But when I am stuck in a dead end with all of my ego, then there I begin to feel it. If the suffering hasn’t yet brought me to a dead end but I already want from afar to see Him and correct myself, then I have the possibility to determine all of that and to change within the group.

That is called, “my sons have defeated me,” that is, we outsmarted Him. They used the properties of nature around them in order to create such a form of mutual cooperation that helped them to determine the true spirituality in the connection between them. This means that we build between us a model which shows us according to an analog form, the spiritual categories which we have no connection to. In this way we can, without yet being at the spiritual level, correctly change our direction, to measure it, and operate within our society.

This is what was given to us. Otherwise, we would never be allowed to enter the spiritual level until we reach equivalence of form, its attributes. We are not able to do this if we remain as we are. “To enter” means to change ourselves according to it. But how do we change ourselves if we don’t know what it is in itself? Thus, in our world we need to build such a model to match it and then we will be similar to that spiritual level.

Our major mistake is that we differentiate and detach the group, humanity, and reality from the Creator. We don’t understand that we don’t have to take care of Him, but that we should fix things in reality and correct the vessel as it says: “I would rather they left Me and kept My Torah,” since the whole Torah is one law of “Love thy friend as thyself.”

The Torah speaks about love of the Creator as the last commandment, which I reach after all my previous actions. Of course I meant to reach it first and this is why I performed all these actions, but I don’t reach it immediately and only yearn for it.

First a person clarifies what his attitude towards the Creator should be until he finally begins to hear that it is called bestowal and love. A person begins to hear, which means that he has an inner response, that it really is so and that the whole world, all of reality, and all of humanity are nourished only by that one force.

Then I realize that it’s possible to actually acquire this force, which means consciously and realistically by using a group, a special society, and not just by using nice words as the whole world does. I am included in the group and through it intend to attain the Creator, clarify my attributes in this special society and correct them in order to connect with the friends “as one man in one heart,” and thus reveal the Creator in the connection between us.

If we manage to connect as one, He will also be revealed as one. Therefore it says “from the love of the created beings to the love of the Creator.” Then the society becomes important to me like the Creator, and in fact they become one. Then I begin to understand that the Creator Himself does not exist! It’s the relations between us that we clarify and reach mutuality and connection; this connection that we establish between us is called “the Creator.”

Every time we attain a special level of connection between us, we have a new and different Creator that is greater and more sublime. The Light is revealed in greater intensity and I have to constantly connect “Israel, the Torah and the Creator.” I, Yashar El (straight to the Creator) reveal the connection “as one man in one heart,” in the group, “love thy friend as thyself,” by  all the conditions of mutual guarantee, in order to discover the attribute that connects, ties, and fills us that is called bestowal and love or “the Creator.”

We have all the necessary means to do that, all the necessary conditions. We don’t lack anything, but we only have to work on it more, “Do whatever is in your power.” Then we will discover the Light that Reforms in the connection between us in the collective vessel that will correct our vessel, and then we will discover the Light that fills it.

We have to constantly work on it as if we make dough and constantly knead it until everything becomes one in our feeling. Sometimes we understand this and sometimes this realization disappears, but it has to penetrate the heart. You can make sure that you feel the importance of reaching a connection between us from the very start. Then you feel moved to tears as the connection between us is revealed a bit and it seems so great.

But afterward, the next stage is revealed in which hate and repulsion are evoked in me. We have not discovered this yet… Only after understanding how important the connection between us is and the warm feeling that is revealed in it, the feeling of clarity, and the necessity of the connection, I suddenly begin to discover repulsion and hatred in contrast to it.

It’s evoked in me and I cannot control it since it is my “Pharaoh.” But I already understand everything from one extreme to the other, both from the side of the Creator and from the side of “Pharaoh.” The clarifications between them already begin in me; let’s hope that we will soon reach this hatred after we go through the phase of feeling the sweetness and warmth of connection.
