Question: To what extent is it welcomed in Kabbalah for friends as a whole to discuss among themselves common actions that should be performed on the spiritual path?

Answer: We discuss these issues in workshops. Workshops are a laboratory in which we polish our mutual relations between us on the spiritual path of development. Here we think like researchers who experience everything through their own experiments.

Many scientists often tested all kinds of drugs and preparations, and recorded the results of their experiments. This is especially true in the study of human conditions. For example, in astronautics, various studies are conducted on thousands of people: overload, weightlessness, isolation, and so on. And we have the same thing.

But, we have another problem. We go through it on our own, and then we share our experience with each other. All Kabbalistic books are written based on the experience of those people who have traversed the spiritual path. And we draw this methodology from books that explains how Kabbalists go through everything themselves, what to do at that time, how to behave, and how to lead others.

Question: You tell us all the time: “Do not look at the faces of your friends, it is very distracting. All of them are your desires.” How does one look at them at all, how to connect them to me?

Answer: They are all part of you, as is the entire world. But since it once was shattered into pieces, now you feel everyone as separated from you, distant, and opposite. If you assemble these pieces, you will see how an image appears inside them.

What does “image” mean? Qualities! Not the face and body, but the qualities of mutuality, love, bestowal, and adhesion. This is the Creator. You create Him yourself; you mold Him by connecting your shattered qualities within yourself. That is all, there is nothing else. Nothing exists outside of you. Everything is yours and everything is just you.

Question: Do you try to glue the students to each other, to the group, so they do not constantly refer to you to solve some issues?

Answer: In no case do I ever lock the students in on myself, I do not play someone great, smart, or something else in front of them. I play the role of a methodologist in front of them.

I fixate them on each other because they can only solve all problems between them. They must unite, and according to my method, by collectively connecting to me, they absorb the upper light.

Question: But without contact with you, the group does not work no matter how ideal it may be?

Answer: No, that is not true. The teacher may not be in this world; it does not matter. If the disciples gather, they will feel me and the other Kabbalists who are higher than me inside them.

Question: How do we sense it? Suppose the physical greatness of a teacher is one thing.

Answer: We are not talking about physical greatness at all. What does it mean to physically look at a person? Who is he? He is a piece of flesh like everyone else.

A teacher is a conduit of the upper light to his students and that is all.

Question: Let’s say a group comes together and senses the teacher who is no longer in this world. What is the indicator that they feel it correctly?

Answer: If the students unite, then because of their connection they will feel me without guessing on a crystal ball or on something else.

Question: How can one learn to treat a friend the same way Rabbi Yossi ben Kisma treated his disciples?

Answer: You have to be attracted to a friend. And although you do not see his inner essence yet, the upper light will come and do everything.

You have to imagine all the friends as big, united together, and only you are somewhere out there, outside of them. You need to pull yourself up to the high state they are in.

Question: We usually see friends from the side of the ego: “Well, who are they?” When will they actually become great in my feelings?

Answer: When you make a certain amount of effort of wanting to see them in this state.

And when you see them like this, they will immediately seem to you as being in an even lower state so that you will make efforts again and again. This is not a one-time, but a step-by-step movement forward.

They will always seem low and hateful to you, like the disciples of Rabbi Shimon who revealed such an attitude between themselves and each time reached a state of love.

Question: How can I personally insist that the light affect me?

Answer: You do this with the help of a group, by connecting with others by wishing to increase your yearning for the quality of connection and mutual guarantee, by wanting to be with them in one single desire, above egoism by lowering it, and by directing your aspirations to the upper world, to bestowal and love.

By creating such a common desire, when all your egoisms are lowered and all yearnings for the Light are above them, you want the upper light to create an instrument of perception similar to it in you. To the extent these egoistic desires are rejected downward, and to the extent the altruistic aspirations, meaning mutual love, connection, and similarity to the light, are raised up, you come closer to the light in terms of quality, in terms of values.

This light that constantly surrounds us, this physical field affects you all the time.  Although it is permanent, its effect depends on your effort toward it.

As a result of its repeated influences, an organ of perception of light is formed within you. That is, the difference between these two opposite points becomes such that the upper light can enter into it and fill it. As a result, the Partzuf, a system, is formed. Your desires become similar to the light since it enters into these desires according to the law of equivalence of forms.

Then you begin to understand, to feel its qualities, its program, its intentions, and its beginning, end, and purpose. Without it, you cannot do anything.

Therefore, the entire method, in general, is simple. But a person does not agree with it. Firstly, his egoism rejects everything. And secondly, he cannot believe that in this way something can change.

Question: If you do not like a friend, but you justify him and nevertheless your attitude toward him still does not change, is this the wrong process of scrutinizing?

Answer: There is an absolute setting for all elements of creation and for the entire creation in general—look at it the way the Creator looks at it,  justify absolutely, bestow, and love. The upper force proceeds precisely from that in relation to what it has created.

If I cannot treat all created beings in this way, then to the extent that I do not treat them with absolute love, egoism rules within me, which I must correct to a state of complete love for all.

Therefore, it is said, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” This is the basic rule of correction.

Question: How can a person guarantee something if he constantly goes through internal changes?

Answer: It is necessary to create such a field in the group and in yourself that will hold you in advance. Or one that a least will not let you be thrown away.

If you are changing under the influence of your general software, so to speak, that light causes in you, then this is normal. Even if today you seem to contradict your self from yesterday, this is also normal in our state when we change so often and so effectively.

But often you fall out of the movement forward when suddenly you are cut off from the connection with the rest, like a computer cut off from the connection with the outside world because its modem stops working. What should you do in this case?

Here a person is obliged to protect himself in order to keep contact. This can only be done with the help of friends because he himself falls out of the common work and comes to a state where he does not control himself and does not know what will happen to him. It is like losing consciousness. Therefore, his only hope here is for others.

Question: How can a person act correctly without making any calculations? For example, for someone, attendance at morning lessons and participation in various events are normal learning conditions, and it is hard for others to attend lessons every day. What should  a person do?

Answer: Let him come as much he can, that is his business. Everyone acts according to the measure of importance. One is present every day, it is very important for him not to miss anything; for him every minute in the lesson is a necessity. And for another, it is normal to come once a month and, as they say, join in.

We give everyone the opportunity to act as they wish. At the same time, we do not remove their freewill, but we simply talk about the importance of the goal. And now, let them try to do what they can, each in their own way.

Let’s say one will make clips about Kabbalah, another will write articles, the third will constantly go to classes and only, so to speak, gnaw at the granite of science, the fourth will compose songs, and so on. Each student moves along his own vector, in accordance with his internal structure. So what? Do not compare them with each other.

Question: So, one student should not put pressure on another?

Answer: He has no right! He can only raise the greatness of the goal in him—nothing more.

Question: How is it possible to encourage a person to overcome his rejection of others?

Answer: Work, to work on it all the time!

Now that we constantly hold workshops and discussions, a person falls under the powerful influence of everyone else and it relaxes him, lowers his egoism, draws him in, and lifts him up.

He is imbued with unity, feels great power in it! It gives him such a pleasant feeling that after that it is easier for him to get in touch with the group. I think that this will greatly accelerate our progress toward correction.
