My Comment: In our times, everything in the world is up for sale, or exchange for other benefits. This is evident in the awarding of Nobel prizes, the empty talk of the United Nations, UNESCO, etc. The circle closes and clearly reveals the primitive nature of humanity, the egoistic desire.

In principle, how is it possible to condemn these people if none of us is able to make the smallest movement without any benefit for oneself, which is the energy required for motion! Only a higher reward, the discovery of the Creator, can awaken and push a person to carry out altruistic movement.

My Comment: The inevitable natural development of the egoism is its expansion until it is like a cancer that devours itself. At the last moment before death occurs the awareness of death and the force to give up devouring the surrounding society. This is the “path of suffering.”

But there is also the “path of Light,” when, due to the dissemination of the wisdom of Kabbalah, under the influence of the Upper Light, the Ohr HaMakif (the Surrounding Light), the awareness that our world is basically a stepping stone to the upper world takes place, and we have no need for suffering and we consciously aspire to advance to the goal of our development that was established from the start.

My Comment: It is wonderful to discover that the egoistic world is collapsing and an altruistic world is being born. Even more wonderful is the help that is making its birth easier through the unity of those who want to be born together within a single new body, desire.

My Comment: The collapse of the existing society with all its egoistic connections and forms must happen, and the sooner it happens, the better it will be for all of us. Because in that case, the collapse will be softer. The existing systems are based on the egoistic nature of humanity, and it must be understood that it has completely broken down.

We ourselves must want to change our nature, because that is precisely the locus of each against all, compelling everyone to build his own happiness on someone else’s misfortunes, causing a collision between nations and entire continents. The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us how to move to the new world rapidly and happily, for the good of everyone.

Question: Baal HaSulam, the greatest Kabbalist of the 20^th century, wrote in one of his letters about the possibility of a Third World War and even a fourth. What do the Kabbalists think? Will this happen or not?

Answer: The Kabbalists see the general system of management, the possibilities that are ahead for us. They see that freedom of choice exists for every person and for all of humanity.

There are two ways by which we move through all kinds of states: the way of suffering and the way of Torah (Light).

If we want to go according to the usual route of physical life, we think only about that and don’t invest effort in lifting ourselves above our world so this world will begin to bring us into an even greater blind alley ultimately compelling us to ascend.

However, before we decide to begin our ascent, we would experience intense suffering, including World Wars Three and Four, and other terrible situations. We see that nothing is changing for the better in the meantime.

Question: In other words, World Wars Three and Four are latent in the higher plan, and now everything depends on how much we, humans, are consciously included in the program of nature.

Answer: Not only this, latent in the program of nature are ecological problems, hunger, climactic blows, earthquakes, etc. All of this is for the purpose of shaking us so that we would feel a need for the next level of development, but all of this is through the beastly perception of the physical body.

However, if we want to raise ourselves spiritually, we combine this with completely different forces because we would begin to influence the system of management itself! Our lowest system won’t obligate us to go out to the next level. Rather, we ourselves voluntarily ascend to it.

Then, our participation would seem different, and the world would become wonderful. We would become integrated wisely in its management and go forward. We would understand why. This would change our lives completely and our attitude toward them.

A movement like this is called movement according to the ray of Light. The Light is ascent above our beastly existence. It is a desire to approach something higher.

The system of management is found above me. This is what I must understand, knowing that I must be integrated into it. The approach toward this is called the movement of the Light. Every person must go through this, and those who have not gone through it will go through it.

Therefore, people don’t feel that they depend on capital within their country and international corporations don’t feel that they depend on it. In order to feel it, they have to feel the environment, the attitude towards others. The world has come to an economic dead end and the only way out is through new social relationships. End of Unconscious Development

Question: What is the difference between unconscious and conscious development?

Answer: All this time we have advanced unconsciously, under the negative pressure that pushes us from behind. Nature forced us to advance, pushed us in the back by sending afflictions, unsatisfied desires, and a constant sensation of deficiency.

For a long time now, we have lost hope to see good things in the future; however, the pressure from behind is so huge that it forces us to move ahead. When we look forward and behind, we see only minuses and know beforehand that tomorrow won’t bring us any good. But we hope that tomorrow there will be less sufferings than today. That is already a good thing for us.

This is the tendency of the current developmental stage. We understand that the world degrades and sinks lower and lower, thus losing its prior values. There is nothing ahead of us that might cheer us up, and yet, we move forward because our current situation is unbearable.

It is an insignificant and negative form of development, leading to a further deterioration. Just look at the problems arising in Europe, the Far and Middle East, North and South America, Russia, anywhere in the world.

There is no country where it would be possible to hide from problems. Rest assured that there won’t be a single quiet place on the face of earth soon. Tranquility and peace won’t be available even in the most remote island in the ocean.

It is clear that we are moving in the direction of evil. This explains why the modern generation doesn’t want to have a family and children. We are still at the beginning of this process, but the tendency is already obvious. Anything that happens to us is meant to force us to acknowledge that we must do something about it.

Kabbalah teaches us that if we refuse pursuing the goal of the creation voluntarily, by a good path, we will ll have to advance under duress, as we do now.

The goal that nature set for us is beyond this universe, above our nature. Humanity must develop unlimitedly, beyond the boundaries of time and space. Our current form of existence on the face of Earth is temporary and very limited form.

After a certain stage of development, our properties will be changed. Our organs of perception through which we perceive this material world will be altered. Due to new qualities, we’ll see a different picture of life: an endless world and ourselves in it who have unlimited opportunities, either in time or space.

In order to transition from today’s material picture to a new, unlimited state, we need to undergo cardinal internal changes.

Question: Life in today’s world is changing rapidly. Terrorist forces are starting to come to power. The former difference between stronger and weaker countries is fading. A terrorist organization can come to power in a very strong country, and the lives of all its citizens will be in danger. This can go on indefinitely, and a strong power will never conquer the weaker one. What does it mean to be a strong power in the modern world?

Answer: There is an inner engine of humanity’s development called “time.” With time many things change. Geological periods change, and they pertain to the development of inanimate nature, followed by periods of development of the vegetative and animate nature. Humanity develops as well, and one social formation replaces another.

Everything changes with time, and there is nothing that arises once and stays stable and inviolable. A certain inner program acts within nature, and accordingly we develop from one state to another.

All parts of humanity sway, like waves in the sea: one rises, another falls. Moreover, we all are dependent on each other, and this dependence  becomes stronger from the twentieth century onward. Therefore, we cannot decide anything for the future.

There are about fifty main instrumental countries in the world, each of which affects the others. It is just as impossible to make any prognosis as it is to foresee a hurricane, tsunami, a volcanic eruption, or an explosion at a nuclear power plant.

Who could have imagined that Europe would face a wave of immigrants? All phenomena are connected with each other, we just don’t see this connection. The world develops according to our inner program, which is unknown to us.

And we are surprised that there is no stability or proper connections. Everything changes suddenly. Over the past ten years we witnessed so many rises, ascents, falls, and crises—more than over the course of the whole millennium before.

Therefore, we cannot say which country is strong and which is weak. A country may be strong for some very limited period of time, and also it is quite relative. After all, strength implies an ability to guarantee our safety tomorrow. But tomorrow is uncertain for everyone. Time is compressed and hastened so much that it is impossible to foresee anything.

We see the countries that once were powerful fall and crumble. The Soviet Union is falling to pieces and Europe is overcome by crisis. And the intention was so great: to create a common European market, to reach unity in Europe. It would seem that this was the beginning of a good future for humanity.

At first people were so inspired and had so much hope for this unification. People thought that they were building an amazing new world. But just look at how the situation has changed over some twenty years or so.

My friend, who worked with the Committee of European Unification in Strasburg, said back then that at the basis of this unification were simple economic calculations. It was a market transaction, not a union.

No matter what unifications we try to create (Russia, China, Brazil, the European Union, America-Canada-Mexico, or the Trans-Atlantic Alliance, etc.) we just fall into further despair of our inability to reach unity on any scale: small or large.

Even the institution of marriage is falling apart. Once people had an inner aspiration to at least unite with close ones: spouses, parents, children, neighbors, inhabitants of the same village or town, work colleagues, or citizens of the same country. But today it has vanished completely.

One leaves his family with ease and moves to another country without feeling any nostalgia for his homeland. He lives in a foreign country where he also cares about nothing except his own well-being, as though he is living in space.

All of the previous connections between people that existed throughout history and gave a certain form to human society fail to work today.

We wander around the world like shadows, without noticing each other, sticking our noses into our cell phones. What powerful country can we talk about if nothing draws a person to his homeland and people only are guided by their pragmatic calculations.

Question: About twenty years ago, I came to you to make a short film plot about the wisdom of Kabbalah. I wasn’t thinking about anything that was connected to the meaning of life. I didn’t have a thought that I would stay with you.

I came; I saw that there was nothing to film. There were no red strings. There was no holy water. There was no Star of David. You came, you sat down, you began to speak, and from the fourth sentence, I had the feeling I was—at home.

But I know that everything was different for you: the desire to understand the meaning of life burned in you. How does this happen to a person?

Answer: It depends. Each has his own story.

But basically, if you remember your childhood, we all wondered about the meaning of life: “What are people living for? What happens with them after death?”—and so on.

Little children often ask this question. But then it fades, especially when hormonal development begins overwhelming everything. After some time, the question about the meaning of life sometimes begins to appear from time to time.

But in our world, the higher management does not expect we will be caught in such matters. So it pushes us through suffering and lack of meaning in life.

We are at an impasses that was determined deliberately by the higher management of our world. If we open books of Kabbalah that were written even 4,000 to 5,000 years ago, it is written that the world will come to its dead end at the end of the 20^th century or the beginning of the 21^st century. Our time specifically must become the entry for attaining the upper world for all of humanity.

Question: Does this mean that you think this dead end is good?

Answer: What else would obligate a person to invest effort and rise above himself? Only a dead end. Otherwise, we will remain on the same beastly level of development. But this is not the plan of nature.

We can survive in the current state for another few decades, but there is absolutely no need for this because these would be years of intense suffering, turmoil, anxiety, worry, and feelings of worthlessness, and death will seem like salvation.

If we do not make this breakthrough, the world will undergo enormous sufferings. After all, they are intended to push us to the next higher level. And if we don’t make this breakthrough, then suffering will do it for us.

Question: What good are explanations if the world still goes on its way?

Answer: No, this is not so. A program of creation exists that becomes materialized in life. Our entire evolution is described in the books of Kabbalah, beginning from the inception of the Earth billions of years ago to the present day.

Long before Darwin and other scientists and philosophers, the Kabbalists wrote that the world is evolving according to a particular program. Now, this program has arrived at the end of its physical realization.

In fact, we have chosen everything that we needed to do, so science, culture, family, and everything that a person is involved with in our world has reached a dead end. It is specifically this impasse that must push us upward.

Question: If everything was planned from the start, why should one make an effort?

Answer: It is so that we would advance forward by ourselves and rapidly attain the goal of creation through attaining wisdom, not out of necessity like beasts running away from suffering that drives them from behind. So then our ascent to the next level will be desirable and joyful.

My Comment: Everything is happening exactly as it is written in the Torah about the end of days (the correction of the world). Islam will conquer the world and everyone will turn against Israel. The method of correcting the world will be revealed in order to raise the world to the level of mutual unity and the revelation of the Creator.
